Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like I can't remove the tmobile and tmobile1x from the wifi networks selection in Settings > Wireless and network > Wi-Fi Settings
I noticed it today when I was hanging out close to a T-Mobile store and my phone kept locking into the Tmobile wifi network and I couldn't 'Forget' the network. I had to disable Wifi until I left.
Does anyone know the way to remove this? I got two tmobile and tmobile1x networks. It's annoying.

Hello all, my G1's data doesn't work with the local network called LongLines (NW IA). My wifes Behold has the 20 dollar data plan and is able to use data on this same network. I am able to access data when on other networks. I called tmo and they said it must be in the google servers that is causing the issue. Are there any settings i can change to get data to work? Thanks
Are your APN Settings correct? If you didn't have data then how did you activate it...? Google servers would not cause the issue. Go into settings > wireless controls > mobile networks > access point names and add one for your service provider.
At work I connect to a tmo network. So when i initially signed in thats how i did it. What would the settings be for the APN?
no idea for LongLines...google "LongLines APN Settings"
I have upgraded my rom to WM6 (not WM61 yet) and once I enable Wi-Fi I go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi but I just get list of my network cards.
I bet that I'VE SEEN list of networks few days ago because I remember the signal strength for each network (new feature in WM6).
Don't tell me to search because I did search for more than 30 minutes on my PPC and I can't find it.
I think I enabled some kind of feature "auto-connect" and it dis-allows me to select network by myself.
However, I managed to found Singal quality bar, best performence/battery and things like MAC Address but it just says "Connecting to network." nothing else.
After I turn on Wi-Fi it doesn't even tell me that network has been detected or "Insert WEP Key" but I'm sure there is a network because on WM5 I could connect to my Router.
Is it somewhere hidden or what? Is there any software enabling me to select network?
Waiting for fast reply,

There should be 2 tabs - one saying Network Adapters, the other saying Wireless.
Try the Wireless tab.
I've got my new phone today and it's awesome!!
For some reason, it's only connecting on GPRS (a "G" in the bar at the top) and I can't find the setting to tell it to seach for 3G/HSDPA networks!
On my old phone, I manually set it to only use GPRS, so this maybe why as the setting is remembered on the simcard (?).
There is an option to switch on and off 3g data access under Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Use only 2g Networks
I just got this phone and I can't connect to my 3G connection.
I went to settings > mobile networks > network operators and chose my operator, but I still am unable to connect to 3G. Help!

you need to figure out your APN settings for your cell provider.
usually something like
internet.cellprovider.com
useridname
userpassword
then you can login to Edge/ 3G / HDPDA speeds
since you are new i'll recommend you to read this FAQ
