Hi all,
I just received my replacement Incredible last night, and spent the night making it exactly the same as my old one. I found out however, that after reinstalling Shazam, I'm now currently using the "limited free" version, which doesn't give you unlimited tagging. The Shazam install on my old phone, however, was grandfathered into unlimited tagging. My question is it possible to transfer the Shazam install from my old phone to new phone?
PS I posted this in another thread, but I also would like to transfer my bookmarks from my old phone to my new phone. Where is the bookmarks file located? Can I transfer it without root?
Thanks in advance.
checkout titanium backup or mybackup pro.
some licenses reside on the SD card in which case you just need the same SD card or license file.

Hi all,
So i managed to outright buy a Legend here in Australia and its not out yet here so there no local news from phone stores or info or help i can get from friends or family since they either use Iphone or old school Nokia's
I love the Legend, its got everything I need half of that is potentially what i need.
I have a few questions, i made a big jump from a standard Nokia phone to a smartphone. The legend stood out for me and while I have a 10mega pixel camera and a flip HD video recorder, this phone replaces these devices and not the missus owns these devices while i have my new slick phone
Only had this phone for 3 days and theres a lot of work to do, i managed and figured out how to setup internet with my pre paid provider, link the facebook accounts with my sim contact, gmail account i haven't used in years (I prefer hotmail) but that is set up.
so a few questions
1) How do i get yahoo and hotmail emails setup like Gmail (or it cannot be done that way?) its asking for a POP3, IMAP account and i tried Windows pop3 settings and no luck.
2) alternative are there any good apps for yahoo and MSN Live messengers that way i have access to the inbox of these respective accounts? Or better..is there an app to have all messengers accessible in the one app?
3) i have 2GB card inserted so when i mount the storage and place a video file either on the root of the SD or created a new folder and put it in, i can't seem to find this file
4) Is there any must have apps i should have? any recommendations
5) Is there something else i should know about this phone? maybe an option im not aware over and you've just figured out how or where?
Thanks!
3) i have 2GB card inserted so when i mount the storage and place a video file either on the root of the SD or created a new folder and put it in, i can't seem to find this file
Normally I put the video in /DCIM/100MEDIA/ directory. Legend doesn't read Divx file, maybe only the software yxflash can do (you'll find it on android market
4) Is there any must have apps i should have? any recommendations
A lot. Astro, Goggles, webcam widget,etc.etc. There are some forums even in xda-developers dedicated to apps.
5) Is there something else i should know about this phone? maybe an option im not aware over and you've just figured out how or where?
Battery life is depending by yr provider (2G or 3G), WIFI and sync. Try to switch off WIFI if you don't use, switch to 2G if you don't need fast speed, stop sync if you don't need to be updated minute by minute. It'll save yr battery life and elongate from 8-10 hours to 1-2 days.
Hey everyone, I'm considering coming from a samsung Vibrant to this, because I like the screen size, camera flash, and Android seems to be stable (super ram froyo) but I have a couple of questions
Will I be able to restore my text, and call logs via mybackuppro, and retrieve my contacts via the google account? I was also wondering if it's worth coming from a vibrant to an hd2? Just need some help, or advice.
Also could I restore some apps on the hd2 from the vibrant using Titanium backup?
-Sorry if I posted in the wrong place.
Thanks everyone who helps!
I've used both and prefer the hd2 but you might need to experiment with the builds.
There are apps to back up your sms and google contacts will automatically transfer with your account.
Sent from my HTC HD2 Android
To backup apps just use titanium backup and select batch and then all user apps.
To backup SMS download SMS backup and restore from the market.
If you've got a Google account, try logging into your gmail account from a computer then go to people and check I'd your contacts are saved. if they are then they will auto sync with any other phone you use.
Hope this helped.
Okay I was just making sure, I always use T-backup for apps, and mybackup pro for sms.
Is everything the same such as putting things in folders, and the phone being able to read it? And another big factor is GPS, does that work?
Gps works, but takes a little bit longer to get a lock sometimes (still quite usable)
And T-Mobile backup works too, just like on any Android phone. As far as backin up n restoring with Titanium, just batch backup apps n data, then transfer the Titanium Backup folder from your current sd card to your HD2's sd card, get Titanium from market, n batch restore
I highly recommend the HD2, its like 2 yrs old, n still just about the baddest phone on the block
Sent from my... whatever
Awesome Thank you, I'll pm you if I have more questions if thats cool?
Ps: The hd2 i'm trading for has miui rom on it, have you tried it, is it stable? Or which build do you prefer?
Hello Everyone,
I am making the switch from an evo3d to a new S4 and I can not figure out how to import my SMS export file from the evo3d.
Is there not a way to do this without installing apps? If I need to install something what works best? I have tried to figure it out and have searched xda with no luck ( I have just found iphone specific stuff).
Thanks!

SMS Backup+ works really well for me. It backs up your texts to gmail and will allow transfer from gmail to a new device. I transitioned from my Evo3D to my S4 without any difficulty.
I use an app called "super backup". Backs up SMS and call logs as well as bookmarks and calendars.
I use go backup.
It lets me have the backup on drop box or Google drive
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium
Titanium Backup Pro. It will be the best investment you've come across for our phones.
Thank you Everyone!
I just used Super Backup that gharlane00 recommended. The fact that it was made by an XDA member was pretty cool. It was quick and easy to migrate SMS, Call logs, Calendar, and Contacts. I am not sure the best way to do app data now...for example my GF has a good draw something run going and I dont want her to lose her stuff...nor my Plants versus Zombies standing , lol...
Again thank you to everyone for there help!:highfive:
This https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore worked so well I bought it. Just adust the settings so it saves to external SD card and import on the new phone and you're good to go. Don't forget to change settings in the new phone's SMS program to not auto delete texts and it will keep a long history of texts. Backs up to XML. Sometimes there are duplicate messages but that's not a big deal. I periodically back up my texts to card then delete them to free up resources. Highly rated app.
wonitys and
Have you tried the smart switch?
My Nexus 4 is a bit knackered so I will probably buy a S5. Is it possible to transfer all the data from it to the S5? e.g. ebooks, movies app details (and settings if possible)?
Thanks,
Jon

Yes it's not hard to transfer all the data to the new phone.
To transfer all the media e.g. music, photos, videos etc just transfer them to a computer via USB, and then you can transfer those to the new phone with a USB cable (you could transfer them directly via Bluetooth but USB is much faster).
Transferring app details is harder, you need to root both your nexus 4 and S5 then make a full backup with Titanium Backup, that stores all de app data in /sdcard/Titanium Backup/ if you transfer this folder to the new phone (via USB or anything else) you can use Titanium Backup to restore all the app data in the new phone.
To transfer apps you can use adb backup/restore, completely without root and Titanium Backup. This guide should do it.
Thanks for that.
I will be buying my new phone outright. Do I just take the sim out of my Nexus 4 and put it in the S5 and that will transfer my text messages, numbers etc?

You can sync contact numbers with your Google account. For sms, you can use titanium backup or sms backup & restore
Hi all I've just joined the OnePlus5 train.
Everything is great but I have one app in particular that does not seem to backup it's messages to the cloud. In fact it's stored on the phone only (most likely in the data folder).
Does anyone here know of a way to move the data from the old phone to the new phone? My Phone is rooted so you have access to all the fun tools in this case.
I tried a manual move of the /data/data/app-name but it appears there's a permission issue as I can't set the new folder to the correct owner after (mixplorer)

You can install Titanium Backup from the Play Store.
