BsB Tweaks - .net Framework and my work mobile - Touch HD General

I have the Touch HD for work and have started to 'expand on it'
obviously taking things slowly as don't want to brick it and have to explain what I've been up to.
1)
Started with BSB Tweaks, however this says I need to update my Microsoft dot net compact framework.
My question is what version should or can I go to?
2)
I have installed Opera 10, how do I link it through to the the icon on the horizontal menu on the HTC homepage? This still goes through to the old Opera9
Thanks

Ok have answered Question 1
Any ideas on Question 2?

Microsoft Net Version Updating

Sorry but I am newbie around here,
I have tried to run some programs a recently downloaded on my HERMES but when I try to run those programs, they indicate that my Microsoft net version so older that I need a newer one.
I have WM5 on my device
A) Where can I get a newer version? Is it free?
B) Can I keep my WM5 version but updating my Microsoft net version?
C) What is the purpose of this application?
I think you are talking about the microsoft dotnet framework(called compact framework on WM).
If so, you can download and install it free from microsoft. Do a google search for 'Compact Framework 2.0 Redestributable' and follow the microsoft link to download it on your pc(on which you do active sync). After download run the install on your pc. Next time when you active sync the compact framework will be updated to your pda.
If you are still could not find the download... go to one of the software I published(check my signature) and in the first post of any of my software I have a link to 'Compact Framework' download.
HTH
Edit: forgot your questions B and C
B: It does not affect your WM version(Yes to your question)
C: It makes your PDA run the applications built with .net technology. Most of the 'new applications' built now a days are .net. So no harm in updating to compact framework.
Nice !!!!!
I did it as you said and it's ok!!!!!!
Thanks..
i dont think most new apps are in .net as it still got some performance issues on pda's imho

Yes I do agree with you Rudegar.
But I do not treat that as an issue, since the dotnet architecture built such a way that the 'Things gets initialized as they are accessed' and the the 'Objects gets distroyed based on framework's assessment as to when to dispose things'. I think because of these behavior sometimes we see it as 'peforming bad'.
But one thing is sure that the dotnet did(or WILL) not replace the older native way of doing things(It's still long way to achieve it). Even a simple today pluggin is impossible with pure dotnet.

TouchFLO Tweaker

First of all a friendly hello to all the members of this forum which helped me a lot tweaking my HTC Touch Cruise.
After reading , downloading registry editors and manually adjusting values I wrote this little tool which makes TouchFLO adjustments a bit easier for others.
TouchFLO Tweaker Features
Enable/Disable the Touch Cube
Adjust finger pressure
Adjust pressure threshold (scrolling)
Adjust Touch Cube FPS
Requirements
.NET Compact Framework 3.5 Redistributable
Let me know what you think !
Cheers,
ExBeginner
This is what I love about Windows Mobile!
Everything can be customized
I'll give it a go
Well done, and welcome!
Nice concept, except it doesn't work on a stock Cruise. Since I don't want to reload a new version of .net and take up space over the version included on ROM, I guess I'll stick with making registry entries.

This is why the requirements in the top say :

It will work if you have CF 3.5 installed.

newbie need help...please

i just get my htc touch diamond original in malaysia with touch3d ver 1.1.34571.0_1630.38. my diamond is new with original softwares.Previously i used symbian smart phone. But i found some trouble when i use win mobile because i do not understand it well.
i have a few question, i will be glad if seniors in this forum can help me.
my questions...
1)my touch diamond have only 80++mb for my device, remain 3.2gb is internal storage.i found problem when i install software because the message said not enough space. so can i install the software on "internal storage"? or can i do a new partition that make my device 1gb?
2)how to use .cab files?
3)if certain software that come in .rar @ .zip format, how to install in my diamond? (just extract it in paste into the diamond or have to install using active snyc?)
4) my original set come with activesnyc cd, but can only work with window xp, but my os is win vista....how to solve it?
5) i found that my diamond is damn slow, i found the forum " List of Diamond Tweaks " that can increase the performance of the diamond, but i can't found registry editor in my diamond.
6)the g sensor seem very great, but actually how to use it?(i only found it work in opera browser, how to use it in games likes need for speed undercover?)
7)the footprint add-on, i like to have it on my diamond. it is ok to work on my touch diamond?
8)the gps softwares, the pda shop give me the QuickGPS. but how about other like Papago , copilot n navitel?actually how it works?
9)i saw the new touch diamond2's ui, with is better than the one in touch diamond1. can i install the diamond2 ui into diamond1?(worried about it because the RAM n ROM in diamond 1 is smaller than diamond2, screen size also smaller)
thank you very much for reading my post.
Ok, welcome and use the search button up ther that it will solve almost all your future doubts...for now, i'll tell you what i know.
1)YOu can install the softwares on the internal storage, but not the "System" ones, like Opera, Touchflow 3d and others. You will see, if you install it and it doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall it on the device
2)Just tranfer than into the memory (any, storage or phone) and click the file on the phone.
3)Extract it on your computer, if it's a cab, do step 2. If it's a folder with an "EXE" file, double click it. If it says "not a valid win32 aplication", just transfer to the memory and execute the "exe" through the phone explorer. If it's a windows installer, connect your phone through the activesync and install it.
4) http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx
5) There is no built-in, download and install the PHM Registry editor or TaskManager or any other. This is my personal favorite: http://freewareppc.com/utilities/taskmanager.shtml
6)The first one is my favorite:

or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403939
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427805
7)Can't say, never used it.
8)On my diamond i have Igo 8 (http://www.igomyway.eu/product_4.html) and works perfect, just like a Gps-only tool. I also know that some others like Destinator and TOMTOM work really well.
9)Not yet finished, but it's being ported:

i found this but not sure should i upgrade the rom....
current version is 1.93.707.1
the official rom is better or the cooked rom is better....
i have no problem wit my diamond because it is original set n still under warranty, moreover, the pda shop also offer lifetime software support...mean that if any crash happen they can help reformat for free....
should i use cooked rom?
any recommendation for cooked rom?
which one better n more stable?

Well, if you do official HTC update from their site with your own S/N you'll not loose your warranty. In my opnion cooked rooms are better, but i won't tell wich one. That depends on the programs you like and how you like your diamond, is really personal and it's a "Forbiden" discussion here. It's up to you to read the posts and see if it's worth it a try.
If you have any more doubts, you can PM me for opnions, but i don't think this thread is a good place to discuss this, cause the matter already been discussed several times.

like HTC Manila, works in WM5

like HTC Manila, works in WM5

4. open ThrottleConfig in programs
5. if you get a massage about import Apps, tap Yes
6. save it if you done your config

if you want to faster motion, config that from ThrottleConfig
I think I am the first to test this
Just downloaded and blindly installed on O2 Atom Life with WM6.5 Lite. Installed and working nicely, not all tabs tried yet but most of them are working ok.
Though it is actually not 3D but look and feel is something similar to TF3D. Thanks a lot for so beautiful Manila.
EDIT: Uninstalled as screen size settings were messed up. Icon moving at bottom not properly handled due to bottom bar. Many graphical problems and no proper setup options. Found all these problems on Atom Life with wm6.5, but may work well on other compatible models.
good application
working fine on my gene!

Screen Orientation

The one thing that irks me the most about my Imagio is that the screen will only go to landscape for the camera, the VCAST TV, and the Internet Browsers. With anything else only portrait is available. I would really love to be able to make it go landscape for other programs. I have found a couple of free routines that will set the phone to do this but they won't work because the Net Framework on the phone is the wrong version (go figure an older version of Framework would be placed in the most up to date version of windows). Can anyone tell me what is the best routine that will allow me to toggle landscape mode at will on the Imagio?
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=92385
or just download the new .net framework
Thank you so much. I'll try what was listed. Does anyone know why the latest .NET CF isn't installed in Win Mo 6.5? Why would Microsoft not have the latest in the latest OS?
I have 3.5 installed on mine and I'm using Gyrator 2 to rotate my screens around
Great plugin

Well I followed the instructions for editing the registry and changing the orientation for the TF3D screens works great. Now what about the other programs such as Word and Excel? Do I have to do all the same registry edits for those or only part of the edits? Thanks for all the help guys. I'm about to get the phone the way I like it.

Was 3.5 already installed on your device when you bought it or did you have to install it? How do I find out what version of .Net CF is install on the phone?
I don't know what version I had
I found by using gyrator and changescreen for screen rotation is buggy, slow, and sometimes pages seem to get scrambled. I don't need rotation in all apps that's why I installed g trigger, available here. I have it set up to jerk the phone from side to side and this toggles screen orientation. I also set it up to have the dialer come up when you flick the phone forward and to close programs when you flick it away. It really works great, no crashing. And there are no accidental orientation change. Not to mention it saves you the "phone" softkey and you don't have to try to hit the "X" in the corner anymore. Try it, it is a cab install, and removes completely if you don't like it.
