just briefly read through this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=725290
and i thought i'll give it a try. i'll post the results soon
i've done a little of playing with it, so far works fairly well, i was able to overclock to 625 but 604 seems most stable but drains battery a substantial amount. i'll test a little more and update my little review on it later
I've always getting an "ERROR" whenever I'm trying to run it.

l guess you have to be connected to ac charger while using this app..and just test it now..yap same thing while on charger..when u try to increase to 604 it displays "quite"option and "deatail"option...only way to open again app is to reset phone.
Ok, yesterday I've cleared my X2 because of some apps that I've already deleted but still messing with my X2. the 7KCpuSpeed can run but only up to 528Mhz, beyond that and you'll going to get "ERROR". And the setting "apply speed at boot" is greyed out. Or perhaps it was V1 bug.
So I re-install all my apps including this one (7kCpuSpeed)V2 and to my surprise, it behaves dif'rently...it was running smoothly! I just did tap the 604Mhz, tap Menu and the option "apply speed at boot" is not in grey anymore...it can be set. then did soft-reset.
And this is the result when i open the app again.

And I'm like...IS THIS FOR REAL?
And you might want to ask, has the SPEED improve....YES, A LOT!
And didn't encounter any "ERROR" whatsoever even if it wasn't plugged on AC. And yes, it has a big effect on battery life.
so all to do is only install file V2 and run right?
or do you have any instruction to warn...

To be honest..I don't have any idea
Might just be a better version of this app
these were the same results i was getting, didn't know if it was just me or not, but it'll only run for a little bit then after like 3 minutes it'll shut down. but at 604 it is real stable and run for a while, even when off the charger

Never had an experience of my X2's shutting down. Are you on V2?
my mistake, what i meant to say is the application will close out, then i'll have to soft-restart my phone in order to start the app again. and no, i'm still running v1 at the moment
just downloaded v2, wow what an improvement.
to test to see if it actually works i've timed certain things. (at 604 mhz)
before increase speed: start>lock 4.2 sec
after: immediately!
before: open opera mini 5: 21 sec
after: 12 sec
ffVIII in fpsece (landscape): averaging 15-28 fps
after (landscape): averaging 25-40 fps
the last one is especially useful
now i have a favor to ask, could some of you other people try some of these tests on your own and post your results to confirm my tests?

Same thing happens to when I'm still on V1. If I pushed it beyond 604, I'll get an ERROR.
anyone fimiliar with the Mortscript file for xperia x2? does we need that script to keep the overclock's file running? or just v2 file is enuff? i heard that we hav to run the apps everytime we switch on the phone~ im dumb in programming~ plz help ~
well I have tested this program, to be fair It's good when the phone is plugged into the charger and it rocks the socks out of the device with 1052 MHz.
But when you unplug it, it goes back to 528Mhz.
Keep up the good work, this program should be running on X2 24/7 !
when i unplugged my phone, it stayed at 1052 mhz. don't know if it make a difference but its a prototype phone. played XTrakt fro about 15 mins got 1 or 2 hiccups but played very smooth. been at 1052 for about 1hr not plugged to ac adapter. Gets hot when i use apps but staying without any errors so far. will try all day see what happens. hope it doesn't melt )
There had one month, I had tried nueOverClockTest : nuerom.com/BlogEngine/post/2009/09/07/nueOverClockTest.aspx
This software can to overclock at only 768Mhz, it works fine with AC or not and the phone was fast. But after a few days my screen became all white, I had to turn it off for 2 hours to return to normal.
Scary... I quickly uninstalled it

I have tried the program and it is amazing and fast.. I don't do test as you did though. But I can notice the significant increase in performance. If I may ask, what is the level of performance in your device at the moment. Mine is 47 (1056 MHz).
i got a maximum of 1056 mhz,but one doubt, will this increased speed work only on ac power?????PLEASE REPLY

Hey guys, a few days ago I flashed the new Energy ROM, August 28th and, for the first time I used Task29, I have never used it before as I just didn't see the necessity, my flashes have always been problem free. However whether or not this is related is unbeknownst to me.
My phone has been uber sluggish lately, sometimes for ten or fifteen minutes at a time, so I looked into the processes active in the task manager and there is a process called filesys.exe that has been running as high as 98% in standby, while the phone is in use, after a reset, bascially whenever and it feels like it.
I have searched and searched and I can't find a solution to this, I have hard reset, flashed a new ROM and it still persists. I've uploaded some pics of the process in action, as you can see in eight minutes I've lost four percent battery, although I did use Wi-Fi and Remote Access briefly to send the pics I took using ShakeAndSave.
Does anyone have any solution to this? It's rendering my phone unusable.

Try removing your SD card and reboot, see if it still does it.
It might be error correcting a corruption.
Check if the sense musicplayer still works, mine doesn't work anymore and if I press the music-tab one time it keeps searching for the library, and my phone's battery drowned pretty quickly.
Hello there,
Try disabling your HSPDA and switching to just GPRS for the day, see if there are improvements or not. I once had this mega draining situation, I went out, bought a new battery and it was still the same, THEN a friend of mine who works for the Telco i was using told me that sometimes, when the Telco is having issues with the transmitters, it causes everyone's phone to reconnect repeatedly, that could exhaust the batteries also.. don't know how much truth but I switched my SIM to another telco, and I don't have that issue any more..
Peace!
Ben
Have you go G-Profile running
A while ago I had issues on a stock ROM with the phone draining battery power quite fast. I traced the problem to the phone never really going into standby mode. It turned out that G-Profile was the culprit. I un-installed it and the problem was resolved.
heres a snap of mine just a few secs ago, phone has been on all day, been playing music for 2.5 hours and spoken for 17 mins. as u can see 80% VBN rom,
not sure if it helps u at all

I seldom have it on 3G/HSDPA, I usually just keep it on EDGE until I have the need to use the faster connection.
There isn't much covering this subject in the recent 2-3 years, but I do seem to have solved it, although I am aware some people haven't been able to rid their handsets of it even after multiple flashes, I don't know the root cause of it, so I can't claim to know if this actually did solve a problem etc etc...
I Task29'd, installed Energy CHT, left it for a few days and the problem persisted, it had been going on for 2-3 days before I used Task29 I have established. While the OS was on there I hard reset 1-2 times and eventually reflashed the Energy CHT again, and it still happened.
I then removed HSPL, flashed the O2UK stock 1.72 ROM, left it like it for half a day, I didn't install any mods or programs and it seemed to be fine, so I re-HSPL'd with 2.08, installed Energy GTX (I fancied a change) and bingo it's been right as rain for a good 24 hours now.
I don't know where the issue came from, or where it went to, but I seem to be sailing smoothly once again, and I am very grateful for it!
I am currently fighting with this same issue, I lost more than 30% last night while I slept, am currently tshooting the issue using the batt log and truning off a few things and starting to use bandswitch.
When I find something definitive, I will post it.
Check that you arent having this "car kit mode" issue. The battery in the phone seems to drain alot faster when the phone is acting up, because the phone will never goto sleep or stay asleep.

My issue was definitive, it was the Filesys.exe file chewing up all the CPU's cycles, it wasn't a random battery drain.
My GPS has been rather worthless, it used to be perfect but even before I rooted it went south. Now I"m on CM6.1 Stable and it's pretty bad. Every thread I see about the issue just says get GPS Status from the market and clear the GPS cache and download assist data. I've had Status since my old phone, and it's not helping.
When looking in status, it rarely locks on. It picks up several satellites but fails to ever lock on. Like this:

The accuracy is HORRBILE, won't narrow down from this:
I was in that bubble at the time, but the very edge of it.
And While moving *At 70mph in this pic, don't worry I was just riding...*, the curser is always crooked like this:
And the only time it would move down the road is when I'd wait till outside of that bubble, and click the my location button again, then it would be another still shot.
It appears that setCPU has something to do with it. Anyone else getting this? Even leaving it at stock speeds gps acts up. I removed the widget, killed Set on Boot, rebooted and now have gps back.

I am running CM 6.1 and am using SetCpu to overclock the processor and have had no problems with GPS. The initial lock took a minute or so, but it was easily able to determine my exact location. I used it yesterday afternoon to navigate to a christmas party and it was able to find my location quickly and kept up with me as I was driving in my car.
Hrm, maybe different kernel? I was on the 1.8ghz one but did a full wipe and put cyanogen with the kernel it comes with, verifying that it didn't let me go all the way back up to 1.8, that fixed lots of my issues but gps still flakey.
I work in photography which takes me all over the city, so I need my gps

Send it back, get a new one.
works perfectly fine without the SetCPU though, so it's not hardware.
My gps always screws up at first too. It'll put me across the neighborhood and say "accurate up to 3200 meters" or something stupid. However, if you tap your little arrow, it should fix itself. That's what I do with mine. Works every time.
I can try that, I'll be riding around today so I'll play with it lol. I've been tapping on the My Location Button in the top right, think that does the same thing?

You can also try using CPU Tuner in place of SetCPU and see if it works that way.
alright, I'll try that. I'm quite android modded out for the day and got homework, but I'll attempt that tomorrow
GPS works perfectly for me on the G2 using Virtuous ROM. Way better than it did on my old Vibrant
I have the same problem!! I accidently hit power save setting, and came back to conservative.
I have even unistalled setCPU, but GPS still not working! help!!
so I've been using this nexus one rom for a long time now, always worked...but since a short period of time the battary has been draining rapidly, with rapidly i mean when im at school for 6hours i rarely use my phone and at the end of the 6hours(from 100%) its already on 9 or less % of battery....which is not so nice to say at least!

Yes you need to update your ROM, it's quite outdated now but I don't think that's the issue. What about your battery drain in Airplane mode? Use Current Widget and see how much ma battery drain it is, mine is 2ma on airplane mode, 4ma with data and phone on, and 5-7ma with Wifi on.
Also your battery may be at the end of it life - they don't last for ever
Do you leave BT, Wifi and internet always on? that will produce the effects you are reporting on a battery past its best - or a cheap poor quality replacement (he says from bitter experience)
not about the battery..i have a new one, does the same thing
ill download the app you told me about and see how and what thanks

No, you need to lock the phone then give the reading when the phone has just been unlocked. This will show your battery drain on standby. With screen on the drain you have is very good actually. I think your issue may be battery calibration, search on the forums for how to do this.
i downloaded that app batterycalibration and i put my batt too 100%, pressed calibrate and pulled the loader out, its taking ages cus im not using my phone, currently its on 65% but i hope this will solve my problem!
ok it has been drained too 0% and went off....now what? i justr started it up again..shall i delete the app or what..?
Do you have any apps that are doing a frequent sync cycle that you may not be aware of? Facebook and Twitter come to mind. Have you also tried to go to the hidden phone feature screen and select GSM Auto PRL for your phone? Using the default WCDMA Preferred uses more battery in standby. Go to your phone screen and type *#*#4636#*#* and then a Testing Page will come up. Go to Phone information and look under Set preferred network type: and select GSM auto (PRL). I am using a two year old battery, Tytung's NexusHD2 v3.2 kernel r13 ROM with WiFi on, Bluetooth off, GPS off using the GSM auto PRL setting and just got 6% battery drain over 9 hours on standby for comparison.
Please have a look....
Hi,
I am using same Nexus ROM
But getting good standby battery life....
Maximum Standby Battery life I got was 19 hrs.
Please install SetCPU and Juice Defender.
Please find this thread to have a clear idea.

It shouldn't. By 'internet' could you please specify? Do you mean that WiFi isn't working, Mobile Data isn't working or the actual Browser app isn't working? Also, I assume you've tried checking in the settings that you didn't accidentally disable data?
Hi all,
recently I bought a i9505 (with Snapdragon 600), it was a Vodafone branded version so, just the time to come back at home and I flashed with ODIN latest Italian version on sammobile (I9505XXUAMDM_I9505ITVAMDB_I9505XXUAMDM_HOME.tar) and rooted with CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar .
The problem is about the micro lag that plagues this phone .. so I checked in developer side of the phone the CPU load and I found a very very high load, a lot of time it's more than 100.

Maybe stock rom bugged ?
Can someone check if his S4 has same loads ?
Thank you all!
The CPU load on my phone while going through settings, checking notification center and just looking at the home screen is low. I didn't see it go over 35%. Is your list always that long? Mine is usually about the length that it is in the screenshot attached but does go beyond half the screen for a second or two sometimes.

On first, thanks for your reply.
About your 35%, this is not a percentual, it's a time of CPU, is a bit more complex, you can find a explanation here.
Yes, my list is more long then a page some times..
My old GNexus hardly went beyond 2, or 3 values.. Maybe Samsung ROM are very heavy, but this is so high..
About battery, is normal mine consumption (in attachment) ? Because high CPU consumption may reduce highly battery duration.
Let me know.
Thank you

I'm sorry, you are right.
I made some screenshot of today, I charged at 100% the phone yesterday night and this morning (in air plane mode) it lost 6%, my old GNexus after 9 hours of air plane hardly lost 1%..
As you can see after this reboot the media scanner disappear..
Maybe I blocked some apps too much?
Was looking through the pictures you posted. It actually seems pretty normal. One thing about the google play services is that people have reported that it was eating CPU time. The reason behind is the added google sync services. To reduce the usage, go to your google account on your phone and uncheck useless stuff like "movies, books" etc.
It doesn't matter if you block too many apps.
Also, one last thing. The standby time varies from phone to phone. Gnex and sgs4 are inherently different phones. 6% overnight is rather acceptable.
P.s.if you find this of help, I recently added the donate button. I wouldn't mind a beer or two
Hey guys! I'm new to the z3 and have been getting some awesome battery life out of this phone so far.. But I'm looking to improve it..
So I found a way to counteract any perceived lag on they phoneafterr turning on reduced performance for battery life so I could keep it on all the time... I lowered the resolution.
So don't get me wrong so far I am absolutely loving the phone and the display is just jaw dropping so far.. I really like everything about it... Well other than maybe the camera... But I figured I would post some settings from nomone in case you guys were looking for a little extra life..
To lower the phone to 720p it's 720x1280 at 240 spy to keep things looking ok, though it might push some things left it doesn't break the phone.
I have mine set at 360 currently.. Phone runs smoother than any phone I've ever had lol.... It's cool to see but I will probably turn it back to 720 as that at least wasn't too gigantic of a feel and it looks like my screen has started to wiggle a bit.. I'll play with it lol..
But if you wanna try 360 it's 360x640 at 140 dpi, oddly things work better than at 720 here so keep that in mind.. These are still works in progress..
I just figured while I know changing the resolution might not help so much but to seriously lessen the load from the gpu. There is a battery option we have in stamina mode to reduce performance, and it seems to also lower the display framerate... Try to play a 60fps video lol you will see a message saying stamina has lowered the frame rate for playback due to stamina mode...
I'll see if I can handle this 360 resolution..
I lost 1 percent battery in the past 30 minutes with the screen on so I hope it's helping
Hope this helps you guys too.. I'm in a bad signal area so I'm truly trying everything I can.
I'm kinda thinking if I lower the resolution this way enough I may be able to create a 3 bit pixelated dos like power saving app for the phone.. That way each pixel would only need to use one base color per pixel to generate a usable phone messaging and calling experience.. Let me know if anyone is interested in that lol
How did you change the resolution
Nomone From the playstore... It's a root app.. Used it on stock. You'll need a new keyboard, xperias gets all kinda weird at any other resolution but the one the phone is set at... I use flesky.
After testing though, the battrry life difference was noticable only because of turning the power down through stamina, and then speed back up through resolution change... Think it helps as it also forces YouTube and more intensive apps to render out at a lower resolution.. Saving more power that way as your streaming a lower quality video sample as Max by default so you don't really have to think about it
Settings so far...
Guys what up my old nexus 6 charger works!!!! I love how fast my battery is charging now with the screen on aNd everything
Unfortunately I don't think I'll be giving up the speed of 480p for 1080 any time soon though... Which is really unfortunate and I'll have to do more tests to confirm the speed improvement. Anyways...
I removed the YouTube app, froze all T-Mobile apps, looked at wake lock and Jesus nuts hangouts you crazy... 2732 wake ups since my last charge an hour ago? I mean not for nothing but is it worse for the phone to be waking from deep sleep that frequently? That I don't know... But I'm curious.
Looking for a hangouts alternative that wasn't made for gingerbread!!! If anyone can help!!
I may be able to greenify it.... Need to remove it as a system app though.. Looking forward to that for the lulz.
But yeah 480p all things here greenified that can be, all bloat root frozen in case I need 'em back, YouTube replaced with lightweight alternative (was using too much battery, turbo tube seems to help but no background playback... Working on it) all stamina options on except image enhancement (because I like what it does to videos) screen brightness set a little below half way unless plugged in, bulkey keyboard replaced and removed, Zoe Ria wakelocks removed, HTC blink feed added for the lulz...
Tomorrow night I'll have a report for you guys on screen on time.. I'll try to use my phone as heavy as I can, I use 240gigs of data a month lol shouldn't be hard...

Installed amplify and xposed into the device to help with battery today, dropped a few percent during installation.
Turned off double tap to wake to see if that helps too.
