This morning I was quite excited to see the SE PC Companion telling me that there is an update for the phone available.
After updating to the new firmware can feel the difference in the phone. Things are pretty smooth, and also the keyboard is nt sluggish anymore.
Seems SE is improving.
Just waitin for the release of 2.2 on X10. hope they will push the update soon.
i'm from SG too...
I'm from SG as well. I updated to R2BA020 about a week ago. And it's a improvement.
Yea u r rite as I mentioned. The main thing I was sad about was the keyboard n now its more responsive after the update.
just want the 2.1/2.2 update. . To feel the difference.

i have the x10i factory unlocked version so i guess it unbranded.

and this is not a OTA update you need a computer.
obviously hasn't reached the uk yet then.. tried using SEUS (via PC companion)... nothing new yet..
Can you let us know the build number you have though..
Thanks

Thats already out im from uk and already got it on my phone
Bricks were shat, but then had to be retracted.
I AM DISAPPOINT!
Thought as much. Se blog said it would be in the next 2 weeks, so would have been surprised to see it within 24 hours.

I'm in the US and there are no updates for me yet. I have the X10i unbranded and unlocked. I also have the latest version of SEUS (2.10.5.11). Still rocking R1FA014. I will be extremely sad if I don't see the update for a while.
Can you also tell me if this update fixes the playnow force close problem? It's very annoying since I get that message everytime a text comes in.
Generic UK stiil @ R1FA016.

Come on, be honest. Who got all excited there when they read the topic title lol. Apparently there is another FW update coming in the next 14 days.
Hello all, newbie here.
Plugged my unbranded phone into computer yesterday to charge it and....................................
PC Companion says update available. Did all the bits and pieces and restarted and all the appropriate numbers appear[/I] to be the same?
PC Companion now states I am up to date - ver. 16 - this has not changed.
Has anyone in the UK managed to get this firmware? If so how?
Don't think its out in the uk yet but I got the generic rooted version from xda!

Still waiting myself on Vodaphone UK, not rooted of course.
I couldn't wait so I went and rooted my Vodafone.. all good except I swear the fone has restarted a few times... and IMHO its not any quicker and haven't seen much improvement in battery :-(
I say wait for the update.. unless the bootloader gets cracked first ;-)

You don't need to do anything as dramatic as rooting to get the latest update.. you just need to debrand/ unbrand your phone.. which is easier, and allows you to stay on the "default" SE upgrade path without major faffing about each time!

Can you point me in the direction of a good thread for that?
Hi, just search "debranding" within the x10 forum, there's a few good threads to choose from.
My phone was purchased unbranded, so not had to go through that pain!

Great news. In the next few weeks there'll be a software update available for your Sony Ericsson X10. For more information go to orange.co.uk/helpx10
That was via text. A bit useless but thought I should report it anyway.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
yeah just got that aswell. im already on 2.1 with noric FW lol working fine
Really? Any feedback on that? I'm a bit jaded from my windows mobile days where doing that causes problems. I would go as far to say that my phone is mission critical because it is how my customers contact me etc... but I suppose this is an official ROM. Am I being illogical for waiting for my operators update?
Feedback much appreciated

No problems what so ever, a[[art from random reboots but ive always had that hoped it was a sofwtare issue but now its going for repair seems to be bad batch of ram.
Dont think its actually aby diffrent than any other rom just released in another country first lol
yea i got this txt too but im already on 2.1 nordic
Please discuss any 2.1 topic in the 2.1 thread
Hey Guys,
I was at work and suddenly my phone popped up with the icon saying there was an update available for my phone.
I have done every update and hadn't heard about any further updates. So I cancelled it and backed up my stuff. Got the phone search for updates and now it's saying there aren't any.
Just wondered if anyone else had this today?? X10i on 3 network.

It is lucky that you can update your phone to Android 2.3.4 for Xperia X10 using Xperia Arc update lol lmao. Just a joke. Maybe that's fake notification and some people saw it before so no need to worry. But hey, you are on Android 2.3.3 right?

it's fake, got it like 2 weeks ago while sleeping, checked via PCC and nothing

I'm also on KK5 and no update for me.
No OTA update for me. German Note (DBT CSS) and I am on LA4 now (since a few weeks ago). So we're on the same page

I am at the end or the world: Oz!
I have not had any update since the first in late Dec when I got the phone. Still KK5
Seriously!
Yeah now why we have'nt been getting updates since last year(Dec) I don't get it :/
All UK ones are not getting it unless you do it manually! DBT ones are being pampared looks like!
how to check where my phone is coming from?
How is it some people get the update and their Note flies and others get it and it lags? My homescreens move jerkingly across as I move them over.
I'd remove it if I knew how. I hate the new keyboard too. Wish I could get the original kb back somehow.
I could type without ever messing up, now it's like any other touchscreen keyboard and I'm constantly deleting letters I didn't mean to type.
My GT-N7000 just downloaded an update to LA4. I have it on push updates, but it didn't tell me about it - only when I manually asked it to check through the settings (not Kies, but that might have worked too. I think I did this yesterday too, so it's pretty new).
It's the first update I've received since I got my phone mid-December (I've been checking quite often), unfortunately I can't remember for sure what version it was on - it was 2.3.6, I think KJ6 but am not 100% certain. The region is TGY (Hong Kong). The download was 80.63MB.
Things I've noticed:
- Phone/S Memo icons are a bit different (yeah... I'm writing things down in the order I notice them)
- S-Pen calibration seems much better. The Auto-Rotation bug is gone (where if you toggle auto-rotation it would write a good 1cm off).
- Scrolling in some ListViews is much smoother. For example, scrolling in G+ used to be really jerky, it's now smooth.
- When you scroll a list view too far the effect is a bit different
- The screen takes just as long to come on after pressing the power button.
Maybe all of this is old and everyone else has been on LA4 for ages, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

Quite simple, the note will recieve a full blown ICS update and the device does not need more updates for the Gingerbread branch, its all ready on the newest api-level.
My own insider contacts have said it will be quite soon after the SGS II ICS update that the Note will get its own.
I would bet that a ICS running version is on display at MWC in barcelona in three weeks.
yeah.. I notice those changes too.. everything run very smooth. very happy with the new update.. and excited for the ics..
