took me forever to find this but could not find anything on the net or in the registry to help but finally found the answer so thought i'd post it here for others. if you want to add a stock to the stock quote tab on your HTC HD for stocks other than the US and Canada you need to put in the stock quote that yahoo.com uses.
To find the stock code go to http://c.finance.a1.b.yahoo.com/ and under market summary chose the region you want so for Australia chose Asia. Under Asia select view more indices and you will see the All Ords symbol is ^AORD. If you use this code when you click add quote in the HTC stock tab it will find the All Ords stock. If you want to add individual stocks click on the Components link on the yahoo page and it will show you the stock codes for all the aussie stocks. eg for Wesfamers the stock code is WES.AX and i think you can pretty much assume the stock code for all AU stocks is "aussie stock.AX". hope this helps others.
i only got this answer by stumbling across this wiki page which showed how to do a currency conversion using the stock tab which is pretty cool as well: http://pocketnow.com/wiki/HTC_Touchscreen_Tips_and_Tricks#news
Thank You very much.This has indeed been useful.
NICE!
Thanks I was very curious about that.
Anyone know the Tmobile USA HD2 Model Number?
I believe it's T5160
thank you!
I tried searching for cases for the model number and nothing pops up, I guess I have to go by searching things like "HD2 USA" or "HD2 Tmobile" which is sort of rediculous...wish they would just use the model number so I dont have two sets of results....
btw are you sure this is the model number ? can anyone confirm this ?
it's t9193
can anyone show proof?

This would be the Austrailan company Telus' version of the HD2 and not the TMobile USA version.

No such model number and it doesn't make any sense since this is at least a 8K series device.
Why don't you post your source?
I am suprised it seems so hard to get the correct model number.... anyone have any ideas how to get it at least ? I tried searching the net and nothing appropriate shows up, also I tried looking around the HTC website and that was no help as well, also I tried looking through my phone's about screen and it did not suffice anything useful also.... although I do see my phone showing up as t8585 or something similar to that when I connect it to my laptop....but I thought that was the number for the UK version not the USA Tmobile version .... any ideas ?
i've been looking and can't find anything. I guess its just HD2 Tmobile
I Don't think it has a number
PDAdb simply says T-Mobile HTC HD2, while some of the other versions have a "T" number.

I want to change the IMEI of my htc.
How to do that?
i'm pretty sure that is illegal. only the manufacturer can do it legally and its not a service they offer. its something they do if like they take back phones and refurb them and resell.
that is indeed prohibited in most countries
what is your motivation?
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general
One reason in the US would be to trick AT&T into thinking the phone is a regular phone so you can get on the cheaper data plan.
but that doenst work like that. At least in portugal, you have APN wich you configure to use one server on another. For instance a blackberry uses net2.vodafone.pt , if we change to internet.vodafone.pt it becomes cheaper the use of a blackberry . Just the client doenst know about it... I'm sure is same thing in the US unless is a CMDA company things must be a bit diferent (Dont know ever worked with that company).
Yes,IMEI change is illegal but i just want to repair to the original.
Half year ago,I breaked my phone,then I sent it to a repairer.When it fixed,its IMEI has been changed.

You can't*... the reason is the imei is based on the phone motherboard. Since they, most probably, changed your motherboard in the repair shop you can't have the old imei as it's no longer that motherboard that is in your phone. You must live with the new imei from your new motherboard.
*Yes there are tools but changing imei is illegal in many states and countries.
I found someone has the same IMEI,so I cannot paly world war game.This online game use IMEI to identify palyers.
Actually,I just want to get a software which can running on android to fake IMEI ,so I can paly this game.
By the way,in my country,change IMEI is not illegal,no one care about it.
I have never heard of any company besides your manufacturer. Or provider having a legitimate reason to know or need your imei and there is a slim to zero chance you will be able to change your imei like everyone says the only reason to change your imei. Is to hide something
There's really NO reason to change IMEI. just be happy with the new one. lol.
As a note to everyone, I WARN YOU TO NOT CHANGE YOUR IMEI! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!
I just want to repair it to the original.

You have the original! Motherboard + IMIE = Original. Your motherboard has changed. But the IMIE ist the original. Just the one from the new motherboard. Live with it.

Allright. I've found a way to do it.
I also did get a new IMEI after reparing the Device. I wrote the storm8 support and got this answer back:
Dear user,
Thanks for your email. I would be happy to help you transfer your existing account onto a new device.
Please be advised that transferring your character will cause your current device to lose access to characters across all Storm8 games; they will instead be available on the new device. We do not permit single-character transfer at this time. If you have created a Storm8 ID on your new device, it will remain associated with your new (unwanted) characters, and you will have to create a separate one for your original characters.
If you have your old device OR know your old account's Storm8 ID information, you can do the transfer yourself with the following steps:
1. Create a Storm8 account and password for your original character on your OLD device, if you haven't already. (On the old device, visit HOME (available level 2) -> SETTINGS (tiny cog icon) -> STORM8 tab.)
2. On your new device log into your account. To do this, visit HOME (available level 2) -> SETTINGS (tiny cog icon) -> STORM8 tab -> Begin Resume/Transfer button -> New, and from here you can enter your username and password and your account will have moved to the new device.
If you do not have your old device or your Storm8 ID information, fill out this form and we will be happy to assist you with the transfer:
1. Original character code:
2. Name of game:
3. Character's name:
4. Character's level:
5. Approximate date you created your character:
6. Approximate date you lost your device:
7. Any other details you can provide to identify your lost character:
8. New character code from your current device(available after reaching level6)(NOTE:THIS INFORMATION IS CRUCIAL):
Note: If you are not able to provide all of the above information, we WILL NOT be able to recover your old character. Make sure to fill out the form completely in your reply. You only need to complete the information for *one* game; the other characters associated with this account will follow in the transfer.
Please let us know if you run into any trouble with the process; we're happy to help!
Yours,
Support at Storm8

No need to change the RM-820 to RM-821. There is very easy way to update the ROM. This is very simple with Nokia tool. Here is the tool name: Nokia Software Updater for Retail 3.0.8. Just make Google search and find it Maybe it is not the last version, so it will ask you to update if needed, do not worry. What you have to do ? Before you start doing anything you should know that this update will wipe up everything in your phone. So, think it over before you start doing update.
1. Make back up of your phone and data.
2. Connect cable to your phone Lumia 920 and computer.
3. Start update.
4. All will go automatically.
5 Finally enjoy.
Take into consideration that after install you have 2G, 3G and 4G connection. But the phone will be connected to 4G. So if you do want to change it just go to Settings-Cellular-Highest Connection Speed and change it to 3G or 2G or leave it 4G if you want to.
Please, take into consideration that I am not the person who made this. All credits go to this person where you can find instruction what and how.
See the web site: http://www.wolfgang-ziegler.com/blog/manual-amber-gdr2-update-on-my-lumia-920#.UiDNPdIwfxe
p.s. I am not responsible for your device at all if you brick or something happens to your device. Please read carefully everything before you flash. But in picture you can see my device that is developer device from Canada but I live in Israel. Do not forget to thank me too
I've seen the Nokia Updater Software app. I forgot all about that since Rogers finally came out with their Amber ROM for the RM-820 devices. One thing though, is this putting the same AT&T Developer ROM that I have listed in my thread on the phone? I've seen that the Rogers Amber ROM is much more stable than that one. Can you post screenshots of your extras+info with the more info button clicked? I want to see what it's branded as.
ALSO, Reupload the photos you have on here but REMOVE your IMEI from it.
Thanks you about IMEI. I did not even think about it. I do not think that it is the same Rogers Amber developer ROM. Take a look in the pictures of Extra info. This ROM is stable and for me really I had no problems at all. I have checked every little thing in the ROM. I like it a lot.
It's the same as the AT&T Dev ROM. It's also branded for Canada with 000-CA as the branding code. IF you start to run into issues with data and wifi acting crazy, I'd switch to the Rogers equivalent as it has been very stable for me.
Nokia retailer tool found and updated it. So I guess it will not update again. And for now I do not have problems at all. WiFi and data is OK for me even better than before and more sensitive. I do not see any problems. But I live in Israel and updated in such an easy way that I am very surprised how I succeeded to make it. I just plugged the phone and that's all generally saying. But I looked in your thread it was unclear for me. So I found this and made it. Now I am more than happy and make better pictures quality with more zooming. Now I can tell that My Nokia Lumia 920 developer device takes better pictures than my former HTC Sensation XL phone.
Yeah. I'm glad you made this thread. When I released mine, the Amber Rom for the at&T dev rom wasn't up on NCS yet so the only way to get it was to get it from that wperhelper app.
You are right now people can flash the ROM but I am not sure if this is only for developer devices or this tool can find also all updates ? No matter where you live. I am sure lots of people wait for updates and lots of developer devices did not get yet and lots of other devices owners do not know how easy is to update the ROM in Nokia Lumia. It is easier than Android for me. By the way. i am future developer, I am studying Java on my own from youtube.
Have a question. How come Nokia officially does not support this tool that I found in internet ? I mean openly. And why ? If it flashes and I did it well. For me it is very strange to get negative answers from Nokia representatives of Canada that there is no update for my developer device and in Israel where I live Nokia told me that they cannot help me and i should contact the other representative in other countries.

Do you have more than 10 GB videos/pics/songs on your handset? Do you have offline GPS apps (such as Navigon, Here Drive, CoPilot) with maps? Do you play games (and wanna save your results/progress)?
I don't understand why people calling update with full wipe "easy update"? Or you have a lot of free time?

What is difficult with update with full wipe ? Tell me please. Yes, it is easier than Android and I will tell again and again. It seems to me that you are not satisfied with something and try to blow up your non satisfaction in here. No need to tell about having a lot of free time at all. You lose your point here. Please try to be to the point. I did this in order to make easier to flash the new ROM, not to discuss about having a lot of time or less time. thank you for your understanding sensboston.
I already quoted words with which I don't agree. WP updates with full wipe is much more complicated comparing with Android. Nobody (including you) in WP ROM update topics never mention about full user data wipe in the opening posts. This may confuse some people and make this procedure dangerous and not suitable.
What is difficult with update with full wipe? Tell me please.

In the case of the full wipe/reset I should:
- re-upload 16 GB of pics/videos/music to my handset;
- re-download maps for Navigon, Here Drive, CoPilot;
- re-synchronize my corporate email (yes, I should keep all my emails to be able to search some important info);
I'll lose all my:
- alarms/contacts ringtones;
- game progresses;
- user groups and linked accounts assignment;
Is it not enough for you? For me - it is!
And - again! - WP updates are not an "easy"! It's my point.
Thank you for info, I have added up a sentence about full wipe, even though it is written in the url that I suggested to go to for more details. Additionally, I personally do not have so much stuff in phone as you do that's why for me it is easier to make full wipe. I have back up of my all pics and videos and SMS. So, make your update via regular one over the air if you have so much stuff to do, nobody forces you to update this way. Or if you think that you lose a lot, maybe do not update at all. Still, for me it is easier update comparing to Android because saying the update I mean the process of updating not whatever you should do afterwards. In Android you have to unlock boot loader, root, and so on. Here I did not see the problem with my updating process. Whatever after the update is more individual related issues.

Sorry, I cannot answer your question at all since mine is completely different rom and my device is different as well. Yours is lumia 925 and mine lumia 920 developer device. But I can tell about my device that I got at & t rom and now when I plug into computer and start this tool it gives me update but the other one - canadian update of rogers which would be exact for my device.
By the way this at & t rom is not stable. I will go now for Rogers, Canadian variant as my phone is developer Canadian one

RM-820 = North American Lumia 920
RM-821 = Asia Pacific/South American/European Lumia 920
821 ROMS will have different wireless band information from 820 ROMS (especially if you're on CDMA) since the bands are different between North America and other continents.
Hello all, the reason why I'm asking this because there are a lot of online sellers who are listing different EAN # without mentioning model number.. and there's no way to contact the sellers..
I tried to search for some sort of a list of EAN # accompanied by relevant model number but couldn't find any..
Please let me know if you have anything in mind for that..
I wonder why they are including the EAN number instead of model #..
Thanks a million!
My YD206 is 4627080 310735
Thanks for replying but your EAN # is not included in the ones I saw so far.. Anyway the EAN you mentioned is what mostly being sold in bulk worldwide from HK and China..
I saw 7 different EAN numbers so far and I'm sure there are more but still don't know how to distinguish between 206 and 201 from EAN..
BTW are you having any issues with LTE radio frequency for 206? Thanks again
My YD201:
EAN: 4627080310407
