Well, I've tried every setting in the book, and I still can't get MMS to send and receive on the Optus network... Starting to think going from JF3 to JG5 was a mistake...
Anyone in Aus with JG5 have the same issues? Internet works fine, SMSing works fine. MMS just doesnt want to work..
It may be an optus issue. You can find out more here on Whirlpool forums: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1489027&p=5
Thanks for the help mate.
After reading that thread, I noticed that I hadnt selected an Authentication type (PAP) which was causing the issue.
For anyone who needs the MMS settings, this does work on Optus for JG5 (et al)
Name > Optus MMs
APN > mms
Proxy > Not Set
Port > Not Set
Username > Not Set
Password > "
Server > "
MMSC > http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/
MMS Proxy > 61.88.190.10
MMS Port > 8070
MCC > 505
MNC > 02
Authentication Type > PAP
APN Type > mms
My problem was that my stock optus rom had the APN for internet as "internet and mms" changed that to internet only and mms works fine. Betcha Optus gets heaps of calls about mms problems due to a simple rom setting

Also how do i view the extended rom? i cant see that on my MDA.
And does g mode wireless work? mine does not seem to, lots of posts about this but I am not clear if anyone has it working, especially with Belkin Pre -N.

I've only just got the phone and haven't learned how to create CAB installers yet, so the above will have to do for now
Bugga, further down is a thread with CAB's available, see:

Im starting to get pissed off with arcsoft. I installed molski's 1st edition which came with a very nice and new version of Arcsoft mms. I tired several different manual and automatic connection settings. I have two modems; Internet(internet2.voicestream) and Wap(wap.voicestream). The only way that version would send was using the wap modem, however the sent documents couldnt be opened, and incomming messages did the same thing. I picked up the ArcSoft MMS cab for WM6 and installed it with manual settings. The molski's default "T-Mobile MMS" server does not work with it at all, and no combination of settings enables it to send a mms.
Is there any alternative?
HMMM MY settings are as follows and I can send/recieve MMS.
In the connections application
Under MY ISP
name: T-mobileMMS
Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access point name: wap.voicestream.com
in the MMS configuration
Servers: TmobileMMS (the one I created)
Server name: TmobileMMS
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port number: 8080
Server address: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Connect Via: MY ISP
sending limit: 250K
Wap version: WAP 2.0
And I have my registry wizard tweak set to allways connect to TmobileMMS.
This of course is Tmobile USA. Try those settings and see if that solves your problem.
Hi, just unlocked my HD and seems to be working with my O2 SIM, but all the settings for going online and sending MMS are not working, I get the message that it couldn't dial or get through with O2. The phone did an automatic set up for the O2 network, but it didn't set those to work properly.
I remember I had to enter manually all the server addresses and ports from O2 with another set I had a year ago.
Does anyone has a guide and settings that I have to enter to make it work?
Hey, I'm on O2 and my connection setup works fine, have you tried updating the connection setup database first?
The settings are as follows if you want to add them manually.....
3G (mobile web)
access point: mobile.o2.co.uk
user name: O2web
password: password
use server assigned IP/DNS
MMS (o2 active MMS)
server name: o2 active MMS
gateway: 193.113.200.195
port: 8080
server address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
connect via: o2 active/mobileweb (your choice)
send limit: 300k
wap version: wap 2.0
Hope these help, let me know if anything isnt clear!
Thanks, I had to do it manually that way yesterday, found it online. When I tried making the devices to update database automatically it wouldn't get the settings properly. I tried those settings you posted and also similar ones using a different port. 9201.
But it shows I am on Edge and G2 when I go online, and when it is on standby phone mode it shows full 3G.
Hi, just found this and it worked a treat thought id share
To use your Android phone on Vodafone or any other networks you will need to set it up like below.
You need to create two APN’s one for connection to the internet and one for the MMS.
Go to settings>mobile networks> access point names and Click Menu then “New APN”
Enter the following to be able to use the internet on vodafone:
Name: Vodafone Default
APN: internet
APN type:default
The MCC and MNC will be filled in automatacly if you have your simcard inserted in the phone. Mine were set to 234 and 15.
Leave all other settings blank and select menu and SAVE.
You now need to create another APN just like above but for the MMS:
Click menu and ‘New Apn’ and enter these settings
Name: Vodafone MMS
APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
Username: wap
Password: wap
MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.012 (yes its a 0 in front of the 12)
MMS Port: 8799
APN type: mms
click menu and save.
IMPORTANT : YOU MUST restart your phone for settings to work
Bumped for any Vodafone users in the UK
Excellent stuff whynot66. I was holding off installing NAND android because of this. Now i can do it

Cheers for this just what i needed
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I opened this thread months ago glad to hear its finally been of use
What radios do you guys use? I get problems I'm calls of it cutting out for half a second regularly :-/
handset
se x10i generic firmware 2.1
Settings don't work
I have tried your settings and they don't work for me.
I had problems getting MMS to work on my previous version of Android (Bangsters 1.5), but managed to find some that worked eventually. Not sure what I did with them, but since I changed to MDJ Clean Sense I haven't been able to figure it out.
I use the radio 2.15.50.14 and have never had any problems with calls cutting out etc. Any issues could be down to the build you are using rather than the radio.
