hi,
I make app (F1 pocket 2010 and MotoGP Pocket 2010).
At emulator 1.6, 2.0 and 2.01 apps looks full screen at wvga800 resolution, now I update windows sdk, and I see that at emulator 2.1 apps don't show at wvga800 resolution, and this is a big problem.
what can I do to solve this?
thank you everyone
update: at emulator 2.2 looks full screen, why it does't work full screen only at 2.1?

I have tested it (SPB works in 192 DPI) and works fine on X7500 wm 6.1 ROM!

WOW! It looks nice, but must be memory hungry application.

does this works in landscape mode or only in portait?
portrait AND landscape
Hello...
Can it be use in 96dpi? Did you try it?
Last time I try I need to make a hard reset because my device didn't recognize shell 2 themes!
Regards.
nah its ****ed up in 96dpi
192 works great though, but only 5 tabs? weird
Ah well great none the less

I agree, SPB Mobile shell don't show correctly at 96 dpi, although all functions work. A solution was suggested on how to fix it. I tried, but it did not work for me. I always get a blank screen upon launching SPB Mobile Shell. The device did not froze, I can get out off it using the normal functions. I must have messed up somewhere, but with my innexperience, it was just too over whelming. Although, the suggestion was really a good and valid idea as he was able to make SPB Mobile Shell run on a square screen.
What version of RealVGA are you using? The updated version of this theme (only version I've tried), hangs when trying to go to the 'Now' screen for me.
Got it working with the cab version of 1.1, the files only version didnt work for me so I doubt upgrading would work either... shame, the VGA version looks a bit rough and ready on mine.
None of this works at all at 128dpi. Just in case anyone wondered.
Strange. After I copied all the *.dat files to the device's folder, the spb menu does not start anymore. I'm in 192 dpi.
Tried twice with the same result. Once I recopied the original *.dat files back, it springs back to life again.
Okay, the dat files override method does not work, but a cab file from responderman does it.
I'm beginining to reaaly like spb mobile shell now. It's much more customisable than I first thought.
Edit: Solved. All the skins in those threads for for QVGA only. There are only two VGA compatible theme AFAIK.
After installing spb mobile shell, download and install the cab in this link. It works for VGA devices.

eaglesteve,
I thought i had read in another post that you have been tweaking with the SPB MS 2.1 settings and have been able to speed up the VGA Diamond interface for Athena?? Is this correct? If so, can you share the settings you used because I am finding that although the program works, the interface slows down my Advantage 7501 dramatically and the device speeds back up as soon as I uninstall the SPB mobile shell program.
I am currently running the Taxist Ultra Lite (1st one) ROM

Photons2,
I don't remember having made such a post, but if you come across that again, I've be interested to know too. For me, I don't notice too much slow down yet.
Ok, just checking back, I have since upgraded to the
Sogarth's Base Vanilla Rom (SPL 3.5 and 1.2) which has worked great! The SPB Mobile shell is nice and smooth now and no problemos so far (about 5 hours into it)
If your going to use the Diamond interface with SPB mobile shell V2.1 then I recommend the Sogarths / Irus Vanilla Rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410139
Now if I could just figure out mtkates' tutorial better (QVGA to VGA Mobile Shell Conversion Mini-Tutorial) I could get some better graphics out there however no luck yet...
Check this out: VGA diamond skin for SPB Mobile Shell. Fresh from the ovan.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412052
After installing the standard SPL Mobile Shell, simply copy the files in the above zip into the spb menu shell folder. Done. You now have a beautiful diamond interface.... Well.. not exactly. The layout is still the version 1, which looks like standard Mobile Shell in terms of control but diamond in color. In vesion 2.0, they have layout which gives buttons and controls that resember the diamond more closely. However, there is no VGA diamond skin for that yet AFAIK.
This one works great, and it is a REAL VGA Interface.

Thanks a lot for this work.
.... this here is not for free, but its really great and only for VGA (640x480).

HKCU-Software-Jblend-Full_Screen_Mode..............change to 1
What does this do please?
Are we improving anything???
I suspect he is telling you that registry change will allow jblend to run in fullscreen.
Thanks, I'd sort of worked that bit out, my fault for not being clear.
What I meant to ask was, "In which circumstance is JBlend initiated"?
I'd like to witness the before / after....
doesn't work
doesn't work
EDIT: forgot to close the app.
works fine now
Jblend in fullscreen not working.
I have an HTC HD2 Leo with latest rom. I got this mobile on wednesday and will play some java games. But when the java games open, the picture are som small so its imposibble to play them. I have changed 0 to 1 in registry, but no changes. Tried to restart my phone to, but no changes. Please help.
Your games are most likely made for QVGA (320x240) screens, so will only display on a little portion of the screen. You should check if they have a version for WVGA (800x480) screens.
thanks

i dont have these setting in my HTC p3400I... What changes need to be done for running the JAVA games in full screen.
im having this problem aswell tired to use the registry key and change it to 1 but didnt make a difference to the game i was trying to play
any ideas?
where can i find that setting ?
I currently have an HTC Touch Pro (version 1) that displays in QVGA and VGA mode. I have numerous shareware apps that I have bought over the years that I greatly value; they all display in QVGA (240x320) mode. Those apps correspond to the era of Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.1. As such, all the apps display perfectly on the Touch Pro; that is, the programs occupy the entire screen properly.
I am considering to upgrade to an HTC HD (version 1) which has a 480x800 screen. I am curious how my legacy apps will display on this screen.
1) Will my old apps stretch to fully occupy the 480x800? or
2) Would the apps leave a blank strip above or below?
3) Are there any popular shareware apps that are known to not fit this screen properly?
Thanks in advance ...
I think this is what you're looking for.
Enjoy your HD, if you get one!
I presume from that link that Apps written for QVGA will NOT fully occupy a WVGA screen.
Oh pooh!
Thanks for the link to W_VGA_Fix.
I don't like the idea that I will have to run that utility each time I run my old Apps. And I presume that I have to later rerun that utility to revert to WVGA format else TouchFlo and the native Apps probably won't display properly.
sadly that's the only way to run non res aware apps made for qvga
What is displayed on the screen when an QVGA program is run on WVGA screen (without using WVGAFIX)?
- Does it run at all?
- Is the screen full of garble?
- Is a portion of the screen inaccessible?
- In other words, is the program somewhat useable albeit less attractive?
I didn't want to post this on the ROM dev forum 'cos strictly speaking it's not NOT dev
I've started tinkering with development and am a capable .net developer, so that's not the issue. The problem I have is with the device emulators you get at part of the windows mobile sdk - the 320x240 resolution is a far cry from that of the HD2's screen and wondered what the typical solution for developing full screen apps (i.e. not form-based) are and how to work around the emulation limitations?
Ideally I'd want to emulate the full HD2 screen size. Is that possible?

Have you downloaded the WM6 SDK? That comes with some larger emulators, although there isn't a WVGA one included (I have seen one though, so a bit of googling might help with a WVGA emulator). I generally build stuff then copy if to my device and run it from there. It's a bit long-winded, but I'm not an emulator fan (except for fpsece, of course )
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3A-A651-4745-88EF-3D48091A390B&displaylang=en
My experience with Visual studio under WM is limited to one "hello world"-type app, but if there is one thing that struck me it's how well the IDE would integrate with the target - i.e connect your WM device to the PC through ActiveSync, VS recognises it, and you can directly do live debugging right on the hardware. Click "play" in VS, it automatically builds, uploads to the device and runs, with breakpoint support, etc...
So if you actually have the device, no need for an emulator. If not - well yes, that makes sense then
I use the emulator for the X1.... OK so it looks like an X1 on screen but it gives you the 800x400 resolution in the emulator... you can download it from here....
http://developer.sonyericsson.com/cws/devworld/technology/windows-mobile/xperia-x2
I think that its been updated now for the X2... but that has the same screen resolution...
You do get a lot of stuff included for the X1 but... let me know how you get on...
Regards,
Alan
Here you go mate. The 6.5 SDK has WVGA emulators in it...

Does anyone know if there is a version of the game SNOOD that works on the TP2? I found one but its not made for the TP2 screen size (its an old version from WM5).
Thanks...
try wvgafix app. it loowers the screen resolution. and wont damage your device..just google it
WVGAFIX does not work on Windows mobile 6.5 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=96120
