when i run long bench with setcpu i'm getting results in the 3,000's. this is rather high isnt it? i'm running damage control 3.2.3 with ffolkes normal volt kernel. any advice with this would help, thanks!
edit - errr should've posted in the Q&A, my apologies.
Just ran on mine with:
BB v0.4
Samdroid JIT
nova fps fix
1190MHz OC
score: 724ms
Linpacks avg around 21

Just for fun i figured id make a large list of what our phones are running at different markers.
All the apps used to test the phone are free!
If users are interested please put what Rom and/or Kernel you are running and a list of statistics.
Fps2D- (FPS)
Linpack- (MFLOPS)
Quadrant
Neocore
Optional:
Battery Life
Set CPU settings
Nice idea
I'm on cm6 with snap(my first day) and I'm loving it
I get 1555 on quadrant
27.4 on neocore
~46mflops on linpack
And 52-53 fps2d with an stdev of around 3
I have a 002 Nova oc'd at 1.19ghz my t2 is set at 380
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Fps2D- AVG 50-53 FPS
Linpack- 38-45 MFLOPS
Quadrant- 1182
Neocore- 27.4fps
Battery Life- 8hrs
Set CPU settings- Set to performance at 1113mhz
Rom- CM6 Froyo 2.2
So far the rom is working great
cyan mod 6 is giving me nearly 40 on linpack
Too bad, seems like anything not in the development forum gets no reads.
haha, case and point no replies since moved.
Helloooooo community!
I have a question...
I'm using HD2 with nand android and the rom
MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6
I installed the SetCPU and I managed to OC my device @ 1536MHz
I stess tested and it is stable, plus I'm using it for 2 days now!
stock temps after stress test: 33c
OC temps after stress test: 35-37c
My question is, is it safe to leave it as it is?
Cause according to temps, I don't think I have problem...
Also my profile is "On Demand"
Max: 1536MHz
Min: 245MHz
Thanks!
Hi,
From what I understand, on demand will not OC your CPU to 1.5 ghz, but use the CPU according to the performance it requires. If you use really intensive apps, CPU *might* go to 1.5 ghz, but it really just raises about as high as what's being used. I wouldn't recommend 1.5 ghz OC on your phone for a long term use. You never know what might happen.
Alot of people do it though, but my phone isn't stable at 1.2ghz so I'm not one of them.
hi, i've got a htc wildfire.. well obviously considering i'm posting in this section
anyway, i've installed wildpuzzle 0.8 with the overclocking kernal, what i'm wanting to find out is....
when running setcpu, the cpu will change it's frequency depending on usage.
but what about if setcpu isn't installed and you use the rom to overclock to say 748.. will the cpu stay at 748 permanently, or will it drop down and up natively depending on usage, like setcpu does??
thanks
i would say without set cpu or a specific speed framework, it would revert back to standard 528max 480min
which overclocking kernel have you got, be aware that if you have 130 kernel and overclock, wifi hotspot will not work, you can see phone but you won't be able to connect, you need to use 055 kernel from wildpuzzle 8.0.11 thread.
a small side note, i have just recently changed my overclocking from 691max to 652max, no discernable difference in speed, linpack for 691mhz was 2.9, for 652mhz i'm still getting 2.8 mflops, but huuuuge difference in battery life.
691 max struggling to get 2 days, 652 max after 24 hours i still have 82% battery left.
how do you see this mflops thing? and is it like a cpu score?

Download Linpack For Android from the market, and, Yes, in a way, it is like a CPU Score.
I figured this is the correct forum since it's related to the overclockable kernels?
Well anyway here's my experiences overclocking the U8800 (with geno's cm7 and oxygen I get similar results)
smartass governor 245MHz-1516Mhz
-----------------------------------------
About 2400 on Quadrant standard after a few runs. Stable (I don't remember any reboots atleast
ondemand governor 245Mhz-1516Mhz
------------------------------------------
About 3000 on Quadrant standard after a few runs sometimes, sometimes it won't get higher than 2800. Some freezes / reboots.
interactive governor
-----------------------
The strange thing is that the phone freezes if set the max. clock >1100Mhz with this governor. The phone runs fine for atleast ~5mins (haven't tested it for longer periods) even with the performance governor and max. clock 1516Mhz. (max. clock all the time). Anyway with interactive 245-1100 I get about 2400 in Quadrant if I remember correctly.
Anyone else been testing different OC settings? The strange thing with smartass is that you don't seem to get max. performance with it (3000 quadrant with ondemand vs. 2400 quadrant with smartass). I know there's a lot of stuff happening in the background which causes different results, but the difference is big. Could it be that smartass is is not giving max. performance because the temp is rising too fast or something? But on the other hand the score never is higher than 2400 even if the battery temp is 20C or something.
Also the interactive governor freezing if max. clock is above 1100Mhz is strange.
Oh yeah and the highest battery temp I've had is 41C, after which the phone froze (ondemand 245-1516).

Very odd !
Well I can say my highest temp I reached was ondemand 245-1516 is 39 degree celsius feels nice to hold it great heat warmer at winter !
Quadrant is poop, you should use AnTuTu.
I'm using Oxygen with franco.Kernel+ZRAM and overclocked to 1,8GHz, governor is SavagedZen. Here is what I got:
Quadrant: 3533
AnTuTu: 4327
Attached screenshot of Quadrant but forgot to take screenshot off AnTuTu But I fortunately submitted that score, so you can check it with the AnTuTu app if you don't believe.

110809 but franciscofranco said it isn't smart to use his kernel with that version. So I restored backup and I'm waiting for update to franco.Kernel now.

I've done that too.. xD
Now I have near 3000 on antutu with smartass 400~1300

Yeah I guess I'll wait too. Feeling a bit lazy today
Looks like smartass has similar score drops on antutu compared to ondemand. So I'll just keep it ondemand and 245-1500 for the moment. When the new kernel is released I'll try 1800
I'm running the latest (110811) Oxygen with its own kernel. 3300'ish points from Antutu and 2400'ish from Quadrant. Seems pretty standard. Gonna also try 1800 when franco gives us update.
EDIT: And clocks were 1516 Mhz and ondeman governor. Smartass gives a lot smaller results for me too. Only about 1800 in quadrant with smartass

Have you had any freezes/reboots with ondemand 1516? I had quite a few and then changed back to smartass. The temp was around 37C so that shouldn't have been a problem. I haven't tried ondemand on the newest oxygen so it might work better now. It might have been the 2g/3g freeze with the earlier oxygen.

Yeah it freezes randomly. I did 3 runs on antutu and 2 runs of Quadrant succesfully and then left my phone on a table. After a little while the phone rebooted itself. So it rebooted when it at least should have been running 245Mhz. I didn't check my battery temperatures but it didn't feel even warm in hand when reboot happened.
Btw, I accidently thanked you for the message when I tried to quote.
Hello all,
I have a brand new A500 which I've rooted and installed HoneyVillian 1.1 on (Honeycomb 3.2). While I can overclock it to 1.2ghz and run basically any apps all day long, as soon as I try to push it to 1.5ghz (which is readily attainable by most) the device panics and reboots continuously.
Having had an Android smartphone for a couple years, I know the panic and reboot condition is most likely caused by too low voltage for the desired clockspeed. In this case, I noticed that in the HoneyVillian screen caps, the voltage for 1500mhz is 1325mV, however, when I go into SetCPU I see that my setting for 1500mhz is just 1250mV.
Can others please confirm whether or not they are running 1500mhz at 1325mV or at the 1250mV my ROM came stock with?
What are your experiences with 1.5ghz and what is your voltage setting?
Thanks a lot!
Hi, wrong section. Should be in the General or Q&A section as this post has nothing to do with development.
I have mine running at 1.5GHz with no problems on stock 1250mV. Never got into UVing yet and still need to learn of its benefits. Running Taboonay 2.0 with the Taboonay Kernel at 1.5GHz max and 216MHz min with the Ondemand governor.
Moved to Q&A
odd
Guess I am lucky - can run @ 1646 MHz *mostly* stable, occasional fc. Run 1504 normally - solid as a rock.
both running Taboonay?

Stock 3.1, Taboonay kernel. Usually stick at 1.4 for battery life/stability/speed 1.4 ghz = 1225 mv via set CPU on my stock setup. Hope that helps. 1.64 tops out at 1400 mv
Im running honeyvillain 1.1 rom with cwm recovery installed and all the kernel and normal addons that come with honeyvillain. I run with setcpu at 1.65 all the time and never had an issue.
One thing that you may want to do is make sure your recovery image is proper. I know this may sound odd, but mine gave me so many troubles until I setup a new one.
