I think I need a support group.

I've had my Hero for a little over a week and on day 1 I found this forum and rooted. Ever since I've tried just about every 2.1 based ROM on the forums. Thanks XDA for creating a monster. After a year of having 3 phones I wasn't ever happy with I have probably my keeper. Android is just so much better.

In all seriousness it is a delicate balance, it's a healthy and productive hobby but I could easily spend 40 a week working on my phone instead of my job...

My fixes for ROMS is gettin so bad I'm buying multiple different phones in back alleys and loading up a different load on each one. It HURTS MAN!

While i flash alot. nowhere near as bad when i was a wm user..my wife always was yelling.. when is your phone ever gonna be fixed,lol at least with android all the roms pretty much work great.. so not as much time wasted installing this or that as with wm..

It all started when I was looking for a way to tether, and stumbled across the Race Condition. After a week of using it, I thought to myself "There has to be a better way!" Finally, after talking to the right google search boxes, I stumbled across XDA. First it started with Fresh ROM 1.0. Then Fresh 1.1. Then the Dev 2.1 builds. Over to Aloysius 1.0. Then to DamageControl. Then here I am, sitting pretty on Toast's sauce. Thinking about going back to DC 2.07.2 though. I miss my camera :[.

The real question is how many times can I flash this thing before the flash rom wears out!

I have lost much sleep and can not wait for my next 'fix'. I know I have a problem because my wife is always complaining to me also...
P.S. The 'F5' key on my keyboard is un-readable now all the paint has worn off, I'm scared that pretty soon I know it will have a hole right through it...

Do what I did with mine. Get her a Hero, then you get twice the flashing.

You can't lie to me! This is more like a den of enablers than a 12-step support group. I bet all you addicts have 2 Windows open; this one, and a second with the fresh toast thread open, so that you have something to read while you wait for the updated sauce.
Don't get me wrong, I'm right there with you....I'm just saying. Besides, rehab is for quitters.

Same here. My wife keeps telling me she hate my phone because I all the time on it doing some thing to it. LOL she just don't understand the motivation on having something cool or working good.

Thanks Hoping to get it before Saturday so I can Record my Son's birth in 720p lmao! not sure if I would want to watch it again, but everyone gets the point lol...

I've actually been using my Vibrant as my primary phone and loving it, Never thought I would like it as much as my Nexus one. Can't wait for Froyo..Video is real good for a phone.

Awesome! The only thing I hear bad about the Phone is Battery, but I can live with that small problem

My battery has been good I get at least a whole day with medium to heavy use.

Even better, that so far has been the only Complaint I've heard from other Vibrant owner's, so if it can make it a Day I'm happy with it

DesireHD - Expectations?

Hello everyone ..
Before and after i bought the HTC Desire HD ( took 2 weeks before i had it -.- ) i almost watched the below youtube video 20 times+ because i was so exited
Now that i've had it for a couple of weeks i stumbled on that video and watched it ..
To be honest i did get what i expected..
There is a couple of things like the fast boot up, instant google maps that for some reason is not working AND batterylife .. but i really dont care about that ..
i love the phone .. and for the first time i buy a phone and get exactly what i expect ..
What do you think about it? is it what you expected?

It's everything I could have possibly wanted, and then some. I wouldn't trade it for any phone out now, and not for any phone that I see coming out within the next year. Hands down the best for me!

Hello my friends here at XDA!!
It brings me great sadness to say you wont really really see much of me round here for a while. I originally planned to make this thread in about a weeks time when i leave for my holiday to Florida for 2 weeks but im going to post now as today i have sent my beloved X10 for repair due to accidental damage. My x10 is not due back till wednesday, the day before i leave for my holidays.
This leaves me phoneless, i do not own a laptop and tbh i rarely have the patentience to use my **** old pc which sounds like its about to take off with the fan spinning so loudly! I odnt know if any of you notice but 99.999999999% of my posts and pm come from my xda premium app or tapatalk for this very reason!
On the plus side when i get back from my holidays i will be up for an upgrade on my contact and be able to get a better newer phone. When i find something i really like and want i will be leaving you guys. I will pop in of course to 'visit' and when i can i shall post before my holidays. I have a full time job and girlfriend and fairly active social life so dont expect to see much of me is all im saying and when the time comes to move on permananltly il leave you all know.
So really this is just to say you wont see much of me round here for perhaps about 3 weeks give or take a few days.

Well tbh i odnt think it will, iv buggered up the sim reader and needs replacing / repair. The screen sorted its self out though.

I want something brand new, not that sgs 2 is old but i want cutting edge newt time around and to follow developemt from the start. I dont like touch wiz and if i were to flash custom rom id want it to be like wb rom, remaining close to stock looks.

It is strange not seeing you around today as i know you will be missing all the fun of the bootloader unlock. What a time hey to get your phone drunk, i bet you not do that again mate lol.
Well i hope you get a phone sorted quick and that you enjoy your hols, maybe when you get back you can sort out another cheap x10 so you can play around with the unlocked bootloader with us all but if you get upgraded maybe you will not want to bother as you will have something better, well hopefully.

They gave me Neo instead and its a awesome phone and all but with the bootloader unlock now I'm gutted...

dude that's the best thing ever.. the neo processor and gpu is a hundred times better. plus true multitouch
the x 10 bootloader being unlocked isn't going to amount to what people think.

it is tomorrow i leave for my holiday, 2 weeks time il be back and hopefully have a phone, mine still isnt back from repair, im leaveing for manchester airport at 5am uk time so looks like no phone to take on holiday. Im sad without it and iv missed loads since iv been gone only one week.

I upgraded today to the Samsung Galaxy Note, and retired my trusty HD2. I just wanted to come on here and thank all of the fabulous developers for the HD2.
It truly has been the best phone I have ever owned, the note has a lot to live up to.
Many thanks to the whole HD2 community, in particular Cotulla for MAGLDR, and Tytung for his fabulous ROMs, of which I was an avid user, and which will continue to help me by adding resale value to my HD2

Hey, no need for retirement, I can take it for you

Just sold my HD2 via gumtree. Spent ages writing a glowing description of the phone and its capabilites, loaded it with the ICS CM9 build and put my windows 7 activation key for live in the box.
The guy who bought it then hands it off to his 8-9 year old daughter, and I realise it's for her. I give it a week before it's smashed to pieces from being dropped from her tiny hands.
Disappointing that my immaculate and well cared for HD2 is going to someone who won't make use of all the benefits this phone has to offer, but he paid my initial asking price off the bat, and I had expected to be haggled down a bit as is standard practice for gumtree.

Just kidding , Congratulations on your new phone, However, the HD2 will be the best in my eyes , and with the new Cotulla's UltraROM, I see a milestone .

the only worthy upgrade from a hd2 to a note !!

UltraFruit, a Windows Phone 7 ROM with a lot of improvements !
I did see that improvement, however, it still needs more tweaking as it suffers from some issues.

@OP: it's a pitty you had to sell your HD2. I decided to keep mine, even knowing that in the next few months I'll upgrade. It's a milestone and, besides, I would get much less than what it still worths.
What do you think of the Note? I've been following the Note's forum on XDA and pretty much everyone is pleased, even though the screen issues with color banding and black blocking. Is it more pleasant to read than the HD2? Can it achieve the same low brightness levels of HD2?
