They have it on the iPhone but it's in the condition that Android was 2 years ago on our devices and it's definitely not 2.2.
Anyway have a little more patience, the guys are working on it and they're doing great.
dont get me wrong ,, i fully appreciate what they have done ,, but you understand im from the people who are trying from the 1st build so its have been a long time ,, and my friend showed me on his iphone that he can do phone ,sms, wifi, market, import contacts ,and fast enough for daily use ,, but we still dont have for blackstone an android has all the things ,, thank you and i still say i appreciate what they have done so far ,,and i know it not easy ,,

The "Android 2.1 (Eclair) On HTC [27 Jun 2010]" has sms, wifi, market, contact importing and is more then fast enough for daily use. I use it all the time now. The only thing missing is the camera working, which is not an issue for me personally.

If you want Android right now, buy an Androidphone!
iphone has android blackstone not ????
Before posting mess like this you should be sure of what you telling,
yes in one way it is disapointing to see that it takes that long to get
a working version for blackstone but on the other side those build you
get for the handicap-phone are still worse than those for blackstone,
the only thing working for the moment is the boot of andro and maybe
launching sense.
So for the moment no need to raise that much iphone as a good phone.

Try again a clean install. I have it (2.5 non-a) and it does not freez but just works perfectly (mean it works as it should).
If it still freez, try installing Android when your phone is charging, that works better (on my Blackstone).

How long of a battery life do you get out of that build? I use my camera on a regular basis so for me it stinks that it doesn't function. I don't think that I will be using Android as my daily OS without a good battery life or camera function.
i can see where the OP is coming from.. 2years development and we're maybe around the 60% development stage??!
i'm not a developer; mearly a user - but i'd expect things to get harder as time goes on (fix the easy things first/along the way) as the devs are fine tuning and ironing out all the bugs.
as much as im behind this project, how impressed i am with the developers skills with this, i think the truth is that i'll have my HD long replaced by another handset before android is considered a true ROM option on the HD. hopefully some sort of HTC Android phone since i need exchange support and still be active on these boards.
i've been using 2.5a on and off. the biggest deal breaker for me is the battery life. ~7days on WM. around 20hours without use in android - have to practically keep it on permanent charge.
all said and done, it's still in the alpha/early beta era so that is all to be expected. i know the deal with XDandroid before i downloaded it.

What battery are you running on? 4500mAh??? 7 days? Normal use?
Lal, my original battery barely lasted for 2 days on WM with little use.
whatever HTC/Orange supplied with the phone. using the lastest kwbr wm6.5, with titanium, but i had similar battery life on Orange wm6.1 official release.
to be fair, it was 90% in standby, and also i have very weak signal where i live so battery drain is higher than it could be.
everything off apart from phone and data connection (using GPRS for data, not 3G).

which is the most stable for everyday use right now? also what happened to this tattoo build for us on qvga, i don't see it anywhere?
If you want something truly stable and fast, use the standard Ion build. Other than that, most of the Ion/Cupcake builds are very good for use. Such as the xRom builds or something like that.
The tatoo/hero/pulse/etc. builds are in the works and are not really stable. The ones which are "stable" usually run kind of slow on our hardware. Even though they are definitely cool and look awesome. They aren't really practical for everyday use imo.

I'm using the motor build at 240 x 320 & 110 lcd density... very nice. A few hiccups but this looks like my fav build so far. Once you get to homescreen let it settle down for a bit and it works well. Gps, native camera.... need to figure out how to fine-tune this puppy
none of these builds are functional enough for me to use everyday, im soo disappointed. that and now i can't buy the hero until next year because of $$ issues. im stuck with the damn vogue and winmo hell.

I would recommend using SPB Mobile shell 3.1 or 3.5 and then adding the Revolution theme. It's a rip off of the Hero UI and SPB Mobile shell is the MOST stable Today plugin that I have used to date.
They made it over in France so use this link to translate for you.
Sence le Revolution
You have root access through su. And to take a pic you can use the debugger in the sdk.
And hero runs sense ui just fine so no need to fake it.

to keep the hd2. i have not had the hd2 for like 2 months, has alot changed? roms? windows mobile?
whats the news on getting windows mo 7 or an android port to the HD2?
also...is there any way to make Sense like my androind sense regarding widgets, twitter etc...
thanks...i have so missed my hd2 screen size....
Whether WP7 or Android will come to HD2 is still unknown. Sure, everyone will say it's only a matter of time, but I'll be straight with you and tell you it's as good as a 50/50 chance.
Having said that, it's a phone. Keep it or sell it. It's your call.

Did you install cookies home tab and editor? If not, you should try that. makes as many quick links as you want. Very Android/Iphonish. Works awesome... Also the new ROM with the Zim touch sensitivity fix makes it pretty rad.
If you want a real man's phone get the HD2...lolol
All joke's aside, it's really a matter of personal opinion: the HD2 uses WinMo, and with the latest ROM versions out there things run pretty smooth.
But if you want Android, then keep the Nexus. In the end, the basic features are the same, it's all about what feels right for you. (God I sound like a hippie...jk lol.)

Very true...i have had lock ups also...
I am going to try the latest energy rom now. any tweaks that you would recommend i must do right after?
also..how can i get the original white flip clock with weather on that rom???
From my Personal Experience, i had a nexus one Which i sold and later bought the HD2, i have applied almost every rom available and text messaging lags a lot, also Stock rom is too slow and other roms are smooth and fast but out of the nowhere freeze and give me major problems.
it has better hardware than the nexus but to tel you the thruth, the nexus one with stock everything is so much faster than the HD2, all i can say is try it for yourself, im however swicthing back to the nexus or mytouch slide, because even my g1 was a lot faster than this phone with much less hardware, and i am not joking neither do i mean to say windows mobile sucks, but it is just for me.
if i get flamed, too bad!

get the Nexus. I traded my HD2 for one and love it.
Android is so much faster and is so much easier to use than WinMo.
That being said, if you need it for business, go with the HD2.
I had a Nexus 1 for 2 months then sold it and bought my HD2, I love them both, the Nexus 1 is more like an iPhone as far as user friendly. Win Mobile is harder to set up and change but much more powerful. I've contemplated getting another Nexus 1 but the HD2 hardware is so damn sweet, I think I'm staying with the HD2 now and waiting for the HD3 or something else.

No, it's capable of taking some great pictures, in the right conditions and use...can you give some more details on what you're trying to take pictures of, etc? And please clarify exactly what you mean by "the picture is garbage"
Some tips:
-make sure the lens cover is clean, every time before you take pics...it doesn't take very much crud or finger grease on there to distort your images
-hold the phone as still as possible when shooting, the HD2 doesn't have a lot of instability tolerance
-lighting is crucial, you may have to make adjustments in the environment when taking indoor shots
-go into the settings on the camera (the little gear icon that appears when you hit the tab below the shutter button), and then choose "advanced". On page one is the resolution setting, and on page two is the quality setting...make sure both of those aren't set too low.
also, learning how to spell really helps...if you cant, people on here are less inclined to answer you. just a heads up

I can attest to this one: Couple of finger smudges and all of the sudden your once-sharp pics get blurry. A quick wipe with the inside of a cotton shirt is all I do.

You missed one key word... PEOPLE from different countries. Not the phone lol. He could be from another country of origin; meaning his spelling of words in the English dictionary might not be perfect.
Maybe he just failed English for all I know. Point is, theres far more constructive things to do on this forum than faulting other members for spelling a word wrong

Awesome. Been using WP7 for almost a day now. Runs perfect, only issue I have is that I'm noticing it uses more battery than android. Anyone having issues with high battery drains?

First install: battery died after 4 hours from 75% (32G card class 6)
2nd install: been running it for 24hrs+, heavy 3g and Wifi usage. Battery life is excellent. (16G card class2)

actually I have seen it last LONGER than android.
Battery life for me has been better than Android as well - 8G Card - No other issues at all with it so far - been using it over 3 days now - even figured out a way of downloading apps / games without requiring to activate with live id etc - Been fantastic!

Hi guys,
I have to install Android on a customer's blackstone..
I want to install him a Stable (everything working : Wifi, Camera, GPS, GSM network, speaker, ..), and almost fast ROM under Android 2.2 or 2.3
Tried every available ROM. Some are not working for me, some are unstable (Froyo X Camera : I can't get the camera working / FRX06 : I can't get wifi working : many errors / Blazn won't boot / .. ).
I saw there are many modules and zImage available, and other files..
Could someone send me, please, a full packaging of a completely working ROM ?
Or just explain me/ Tell me how to install a working order rom ?
Thank you VERY much !
Read other threads / search forums
I searched for 3 days.. Just nothing stable
I found that some people were using Froyo X Camera with camera app working, but I'm unable to do it, even following the tutorial.. They don't explain more..
Wait for Nand or buy a 2G-no class µSD card as many issues are caused by µSD cards.
Any way, any stable Android you could find 'd not last more than 12h so I'wd'nt propose that to a customer...
Hi dear compatriot
I have to bring his phone back tomorrow, then I have to do a rapid choice..
I succeed with FroyoXRed, seems faster & more stable with some files I found randomly on the web (rootfs, ..) , now with Camera..
But if somebody has a "fast/stable" complete android ROM, please upload it

As I have now an Android device, any XDAndroid related files have been trashed and I'm waiting patiently for NAND.
Can't help you no more than givin you Tiad8 and Rootfs
Just my opinion after much persuasion HTC Android for the adoption of its system
Neither the assembly does not work well, it's only for playing and testing. The problem is battery malfunction components (cam, bt, usb,...), restarts, etc.
Perhaps NAND see how it will be a solution orig Android.
Good luck and patience during installation, I have not yet surrendered.
sorry my english
The problem is: there is yet no android ROM. It will come soon, check tiad8's site as jeanfrederic said. He is working on it.
i have used GBX0A for two weeks,or so...and i had no problems with it,everything worked fine, even 2D and 3D...and i had not even one SOD (sleep of death)
you can find it @ xdandroid.com in their repository

Sorry... I don't understand this... you HAVE to?
Simply explain that Blackstone is NOT Android specced phone, and that maybe even TIANDROID (Tiad8's NAND Android) will not bring it to full stability/speed/usability.

Tell the customer his a .... (you can decide) the Touch HD / Blackstone is a Windows Mobile Device ! Android wont run, Well to a point, but it not stable enough to be used as a day to day system, As many features dont work, Like
Camera, GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth,
If your " Customer " wants Android tell him to either get the HD2 / Leo or a dedicated Android Phone,
The List
- HTC
- Samsung
- Motorola
- ZTL / ZTE ?
- Orange
Is Endluss......

Why are you sending people AWAY from xda-devs? XDAndroid is hands down the best Android build(s). tiad8 got banned from xda-devs for a good reason! Don't direct people to his site, shame on you!
Edit - just read the OP in detail, what do you mean a 'customers phone'? I wouldn't install this on someone else's phone unless they are well aware that this is not stable or ready for primetime yet.

Many reasons. Main one being warez. Other reasons being kanging, and creating puppies. I'm not a mod tho, I didn't ban him...
ooh interesting I didn't know that, also what is kanging and creating puppies?

Stealing binaries (can't steal open source code...), creating accounts to get around a ban respectively.

Uhm, I care. Devs care. Anyone who cares about the actual developers should care... they're the ones doing the hard work/heavy lifting.
Also, XDAndroid already runs on the Blackstone... I guess I need to create some threads over here to remind everyone? I can do that.
Not on NAND!!!
runs on SD card and it sucks bals!!!

NAND isn't stable yet for any device that XDAndroid runs on...
Hoping it will be one day, but it won't be because of tiad8 lol. He has admitted at least once that he is not working on Blackstone NAND.
