saw 4G in Germantown and Gaithersburg

I was in DC last week and had 4g coverage (it was spotty). The best coverage was at Nationals Park.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App

I get 4G outside my job in Greenbelt. Don't have anything at home in Clinton though.

Yea I think they just testing it out

I have actually picked up full 4g signal all around the beltway. Gaithersburg, Rockville, Bethesda, Laurel, College Park, Bowie, NW Washington. Randallstown, Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

Since I got my phone June 4th I have had 4G in Loudoun County (Northern VA) about 30mins outside of DC (next to Dulles Airport).

I am now getting 4G in some parts of McLean, Tysons Corner and Arlington. Haven't seen amazing speeds yet (around 2000kbps compared to a max of 1500kbps or so that I've managed to get under 3G).
Did they turn something on though? I previously wasn't able to get 4G at all in some of these areas.

I was able to connect to 4G in Greenbelt (close to the Sprint store) but it was spotty. Also was connected driving on University Blvd by Langley Park. Noticed 4G coverage in Bethesda as well, but couldn't connect or stay connected long enough to actually use it.

I just got my first 4G signal in Falls Church, in my back yard no less. Signal quality: poor, several 404s on sites that should have been there, but no time for extensive testing right now.

I also get 3 bars in Severn area, Hanover\odenton 1-2 bars

same except in my house
route 7 runs past my street
on my street i dont have any but on route 7 i have signal its weird
In Clarendon and Courthouse neighborhoods of Arlington I get about 2mbps...
Not particularly spectacular, but the high speeds and faster phone makes it way faster than my iPhone 3G.
Virginia has 4G before Colorado? What is wrong with this picture.............
I live in herndon and I get 1 to2 bars averaging 2+ mbps not spectacular but faster then ATT.

The signal strength is really just your strength to the tower, not your connection to the internet, just FYI I have had higher speeds with 1-2 bars than with a full signal. Anyway there are some spots in Houston, TX near where I work that I can get ~8-10Mbps down on, but I usually average about half that. Here are some pics, also btw a download test is a bit more accurate than those "speed tests" they can lie to you sometimes.

Yup. Northern VA, Richmond, Hampton Roads >>>> Colorado . We don't have any 4G here in Hampton Roads that I know of yet (no Evo til Monday), but there is a new Clearwire antenna/tower near my girlfriends house. I hope there are many more of those to come and soon.
I want them to put one in in Springfield. That's where my office is and 4G would be awesome!

There's definitely 4G at Franconia Springfield Metro Station in Virginia...and at the Telegraph Road Gate to Fort Belvoir...

Apparently there are two antennas live in downtown Denver and others aren't live but have been spotted (including on the Sprint call center in the tech center) so its coming here too very shortly.

That's good to hear. I wish Sprint would give us a real roadmap of their 4G rollout. There's no point in hiding it when people know the towers are there and are getting 4G signals.

I have been able to get WiMAX in Manassas on 234 near the Barnes and Noble. Also, just up the road in Centreville at 66 & 28. Good thing too because in both or those areas the 3G service is terrible. This is one main reason holding me back from upgrading to the Evo LTE or the Galaxy SIII since I will no longer have 4G.

4G in Miami!

I work in downtown Miami, just turned on my 4G and it connected!
Averaging 3Mb down on the phone, not as fast as other areas but a lot faster than the 3G connection.
Just hope it stays on and gets better with time.
4G turns on, but it still shows I am on 3G. Where in Downtown are you?
Someone on here posted a while back that they were able to pick up 4G in downtowm Miami. Apparently, they are doing some beta testing of the soon-to-come 4G towers they have in place here or something. I work off of Flagler and Biscayne Blvd, and I haven't been able to pick up 4G; says "scanning" but never connects.
ort84: Is your phone rooted? My phone is and I've heard of some people's 4G not working right after certain rooting processes. I've never bothered to check if mine is working correctly since we don't have 4G here yet, but now I'm curious as to whether mine is messed up or not. Time to start digging through threads! lol
I'm running the stock 2.2 rooted yes.
I'm at nw 1st court, its actually considered overtown but considering how close it is to downtown its basically downtown area.
Just tried it and No 4G in Miramar... Ahhhh... Turned on but did not connect.
Well, I just checked and the WiMax MAC address on my phone matches the sticker behind my battery, so technically, my 4G should work if it is available. However, mine has been scanning for a good 15 minutes now and nothing. Lucky you, I guess. lol
Sweet!! No go in Doral, even though Im ridiculously close to the tower here on 97th n Fontainebleau

Just checked on Commercial and Broward to see... I'm inside a building and didn't pick anything up on my laptop nor my evo. On my home today I'll drive with the 4g turned on to see if I can pick anything up.
Nothing here @ work. I'm on Lincoln Road on South Beach
No 4G here in Broward (Dania Beach and Fort Lauderdale) yet...
Boca Raton
Aw, I'm in east Boca Raton, but no joy. Good to hear the towers are slowly trickling on!
Some area in miami with 4G?????????????
I thought to buy one but if the 4g is not working.
I was about to drive to the MIA man.... you cant be telliing people there is 4g in MIA.... you 4G teaser you....lol

****UPDATE****
I'm gabbing 1 or no bar of 4G at my home next to the courthouse on the dolphin.
So far I'm impressed with the speed. Can't wait to see it improve!
Second test
Was downtown by the courthouse today and had 4 bars 4g, 4mbps download, solid connection, no drops, first time i've actually connected to 4g and had it work. Was around 13th Terrace and N. River Drive if anyone wants to check it out!

4G in NJ

I'm in Totowa NJ for meetings today, and I'm picking up a decent 4G signal where last week there was none. It keeps connecting and disconnecting, but I managed to get a few speedtests in, and pulled 6748kbps down and 1038kbps up as the fastest, with averages about 5500-6500kbps down and 1000kbps up.
nice.
I'm in Bloomfield and I get 4g no problem at my house. About the same speeds you saw using the speedtest.net website (not the app) so it's flying. I take the train from NYC every day and I can generally pick it up while in Jersey but it disconnects alot (while on the train). Doesn't disconnect at my house although I got some of those Error 61 bad PCS username/password errors last night, but it didn't seem to affect anything.
Bayonne nj 4g dl speed 9320 ul 1983....wow.
I was driving down the NJ Turnpike today, and noticed that I was getting 4G service from about exit 5 down to exit 3, strongest around ex 4. Encouraging...from that, and the other posts in this thread, it's north and south of me. Hopefully it'll keep working its way closer...
let the fist-pumping begin
Ive been spending my Summer in NJ and NY. I was on the boarder line of Belleville and i also be in Bloomfield Nj and ive never got a 4G signal not even a little connect and disconnect

I don't think 4G goes as far as 3G signals......little reluctant to say where in Bloomfield I am, but suffice to say I definitely have been getting 4G service. It's only been for about the last 3-4 weeks or so. Maybe I'm just closer to the towers?
4G in Old Bridge! Sweet! It ends about 1/4 mile away from my house, but that's all I need! It's not super fast here, but still gets around 3Mbps.
There's also 4g in passaic, clifton, hackensack, and Elizabeth NJ. I haven't check any where else because I'm always drive and don't look at my phone.
Passaic 4g question.....
I've always kept the 4g radio off because I wasn't expecting the service to be available in Jersey but out of curiosity the other day I put her on and BEWM!
One question though, it connects to 4g for only about 10 secs and then disconnects. Is this the normal functionality of the 4g connection or does this only happen in test areas where 4g isn't official? I've read threads in the development section that go into changing the timeout of the reconnect and would have no problem doing so, just wondering if there's something wrong with my rooted phone or if this is normal.
I get 4g in Newark and around bloomfield, I don't get it in fairfield or rt 46
Elmwood Park is live.

I get 4g in Clifton by the Clifton/Passaic border.....right by the supermarket and the strip club ;-)
my evo won't stay connected for more than 10 seconds if the phone is idle...
ie: the phone connects to 4g....I don't do anything.....it will automatically disconnect...and then reconnect automatically...then the whole process just keeps looping.
If I do "use" the internet connection while on the 4g network....it stays connected.
I posted a video on youtube of my download speeds with this connection....

4g in New York.

Why is it that sprint over the years has only put 4g in PARTS of new york. New York is a pretty big state and has many parts. im located on Long Island and theres no 4g at all. so far the only 4g iv seen in new york are very small parts in the city.
Give it some time...my cuzin lives in LI and he has no 4g also...but manhattan is the best for 4g reception everywhere else is kinda shifty with 4g service for now anyway.
I'd love some 4g in Nassau county please!

I can report..
Theres definitely 4G in the Financial District, Midtown West, and a couple of parts of the Bronx. I actually get 4G in my new apartment which was great when I didn't have cable internet yet. I was able to play COD: Black Ops over tether!

yeah thats where i live also, nassau county. The funny thing is, the company i work for OWNS the legal rights for 4g in nassau county. So if phone companies want to put 4g anywhere on nassau county they have to lease the rights for it from my company.

I get good 4G in the large majority of Midtown only... Everywhere else it's either on and off always or just slow as turd.
(This was about 2 weeks ago when I took a break from CM to run Calkulin's, so I don't know if his ROM is a factor or not and I've since gone back to CM so my results are a bit inconclusive.)
Getting 4g right now in LIC.

Im in manhattan and service is sweet.

I'm in midtown and 4G is horrible anywhere indoors in Manhattan due to the 2.5Ghz frequency and tall buildings.
That made my decision to switch to CM7 (no 4G support) about 100 times easier. I just don't care until they get it together.
I live in Brooklyn and i get full 4G everytime I'm outside... inside i mostly get 1 or 2 bars
Westchester cty
I live/work between Yonkers and White Plains, and my phone rarely drops back to 3g. I've been tethering at a steady 5-6 Mb/s.
-Evo 4G
Basterds!!!! I'm 40 mins west of albany, I'm expecting 4g in the fall of 2192.

Sprint came through and fixed the towers!

3g seemed to be working quite well, did some speedtests and I'm getting 1.5meg down and .5meg up. For curiousity sake I turned on the 4g radio and connected.
So Walla Walla now has 4g service! Can't get it in my house, but if I walk out the front door it connects lol. I barely connect to it, doesn't show any bars, but it pulls down about 3megs.
Thanks sprint! 1yr of premium data, and I can finally use it!
I want it in Michigan
They must have came through here and done the network vision, my 3g was always 200-400k. 4G I figured we'd be the last to get. But browsing on 3g, etc... seems close to my wifi. Now if I could just grab a 4g signal inside lol
You can check coverage at clear.com/coverage for better maps.
You guys live in Michigan too LOL small world, I live in Dearborn. Lucky me I have tmobile

WiMAX lit up in my city also, La Crosse, WI.
We'll see what happens in the AM but right now my 3g is down to 500k, 4g is still around 2meg though.
164k down and 250k up. :|
136kbps down and 201kbps up, so still not fixed for me. Even though Sprint said my towers were going to be fixed by May 1.

We have it some places in and around Detroit. Go to clear's site and look at the coverage maps. 4g is available in a lot of places where it is not yet being advertised as being available.
Back up to 1 meg on 3g, so far so good.
still crap speeds here no eta on a fix
Still pulling 80kb down and 338kb up here in Dallas. I don't even bother with 4G, it never connects. So incredibly frustrating.
They need to fix their towers in South Florida.
No fix here.. I did receive an email that there is now 4G in my area.. thats a load of crap.. as I can still only get ONE bar if any in my area, which I could do since the first day I got the phone...
screw u all lol the most ive ever gotten is 110 down and 60ish up
thats after i changed the host file to all 0's
