Does anyone want the original Optus firmware that came with my phone? Obviously Optus updated the phones prior to release, and they left the update.zip file on the handset.
The update.zip is dated 3rd July 2010, and 83,995kb in size.
The firmware I'm running is:
PDA: I9000DTJF3
PHONE: I9000DTJF3
CSC: I9000OPSJF1
I would be happy to have a copy if you could upload it somewhere.
Yes please, would like a copy of it before I flash.
I would also like a copy before I flash with custom Firmware

Interesting, since the handset was released on 01/07/10, so the customisations will have been finalised well before then.

Yeah seems a bit suss... unless it's a second batch?
Hope the OP finally replies to his thread and uploads....
I would be also interested in this file !
yes please
me 2 , i coudnt find it on mine!
Hi, could I also get a copy please?
Good peoples, I must make a MASSIVE apology to you all
When I found the update.zip file on my phone, I had installed my 32gb Microsd from my Nexus One and this had the update.zip file on it.
I got the SD and internal storage mixed up, and as a result I've created a "crying wolf" situation.
So, in fact there was no update.zip file actually on the internal storage my phone. It was the FRF91 update.zip for the N1..
So sorry guys. I know I got some hopes up. I only realised it when I tried to flash it myself onto my SGS, and it spat out many errors - and thank god it didnt brick the phone.
Apologies X infinity to all those out there wanting it......
A slap in my face for almost bricking my SGS..
Lol, it's all good!
can you tell me about the phone does it have 850 3g freq.. where did you get it thanks.
lol fair enough mate.
Some mod close this thread then please
Yes please. This would be great. Think I need to take this back for warranty. I dont think I will be covered using the European firmwares.
It would be great if you could upload.
No worry mate. Your intention was good, and we appreciate it anyway.

This morning connected my Galaxy Tab to KIES and it prompted that there is an update !!
it took ages to download its binary files then finally after it got done, it gave me a decryption error !!
I have changed my sales code to gain access to market, could this be the problem or do i redownload the files !!
Isn't there a way to UPGRADE fw via OTA? or placing update.zip in root of sd nd flashing from recovery? (similar to HTC devices)
how do I upgrade to the latest version? help please
Cheers
Jackie
PS: Please find attached the firmware code : current and new !
Are you UK based Jackie? Just guessing as you said cheers! I've seen nothing this morning though have read there was an Android Market update which I had already downloaded and applied, maybe why I'm seeing no update.
no I'm based in UAE !! that's just teh way I speak !!
Ah right, nice to read it all the same, Cheers!
so anyone has any idea?
Jackie,
I don't bother with Kies.... It put my SGS in a right mess and couldn't be used until I sorted it out with another ROM and a different PC software upgrader by the name of Odin.
Your best bet is to go on over to samfirmware.com and check out the latest ROM's available.
I'm sending you also a link which although was written for the SGS and Froyo it's still relevant for ROM files for the Tab and how to use Odin.
See here:- How to use Odin to Upgrade the SGS to Froyo

First, what ROM version do you currently have installed?
Next, look at the list of ROM's available see here.
You need to find out if you are on a European, Asian, Arabic, etc ROM and decide if you want to stay on that list or opt to another nation list.
For European lists JMA is the latest. There's a topic on JMA here.
PDA: P1000JPJJ2
Phone: P1000JXJJ1
CSC: P1000OJPJJ3
is what is being reported on *#1234# and samfirmware says this is the Arabic firmware and the latest for Arabic is P1000JVJL1 December 2010, not that I'm interested in any of the region specific apps - just wondering what has been fixed in these firmwares and also if flashing would delete all my data (I'm guessing it would)
I don't mind flashing a European firmware too, so which would be best?
PS: Tab is currently rooted with OCLF set ! =)
Cheers

It should not delete any data.
The browser and camera have been improved.
The browser now scrolls smoother.
The camera focus's much better.
No idea what other improvements have been made.
It does not really matter which firmware you wish to use BUT bear in mind a number of users who have performed a lagfix have had issues in upgrading the ROM.
You MUST ensure you remove any lagfix applied otherwise you stand a good chance in bricking the phone.
Also, ensure you have access to the Recovery and download mode.
You will need this if you 'brick' the phone.

You need someone who is on a T-Mobile locked phone to answer this. I have heard of users on carrier networks who have run into issues.
Basically, unless you have a sound knowledge in what you are doing I would not attempt it until you get good solid advice.
seems like a long procedure, I'll hold off until i'm done with my exams....

You can try but I'd still make sure you have access to recovery and download first, just in case anything goes wrong.
Aight !! thanks a bunch !! will do
Got a similar problem... info says its P1000XXJID, valid euro firmware... Bought the tab in Hungary (Middle of europe), carrier free, and after looking at samfirmware.com's ROM list I was wondering about the updates.
Kies tells me this version can't be updated...
Can anyone help me with this problem?
Many, Many of us here in UK are having problems and are unsuccessful when trying to update/upgrade using Kies.
Hopefully Kies will get fixed properly to allow us all to use it.

Even ActiveSync was better... at least it didn't offer the SW update...
to trick kies to update u could use kies registry patcher. I have sucsessfully updated via kies from jj3 -> jj7 (when no updates was availible)
read thru this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=863386
Use the info from check fus and paste it in registry patcher, reboot pc - start kies - connect phone - something should happen.
So i've got an Galaxy SII here in Brazil, it's from Claro and strangely has the HKE2 BASEBAND, HKE4 Kernel.
I read somewhere that 2.3.4 was already avaliable if you had Sammy's retail FW, not Claro's modded crap.
By the time i got home to download it all the post had been removed so i missed the opportunity.
If anyone could point me in the right direction i'd be damn happy!
As far as my knowledge goes i remember reading that swapping from this "custom" to the official would not violate EULA nor my warranty, and that i'd be able to do it without having to root the phone.
Go to the development section, there is a thread by, Intarech (spelling may be wrong) that thread contains what you are looking for.

You can also try flashing UHKG7 from http://www.samfirmware.com to get Android 2.3.4

Any special difference from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4?
'Cause i'm looking forward at 2.3.6 already
I've found some minor UI tweaks so far, nothing major.
About 2.3.6 I think it will take a while to arrive at stock roms, maybe sooner with CM7 or MIUI only.
Updated successfully!
No issues whatsoever!
tyvm dandroid13!
So...
No problems whatsoever with 2.3.4?
No 3g data on/off problems on UHKG4 modem? I read that some guys were having some issues on getting 3g data back on after losing signal for whatever reason.
Can you confirm that everything works fine?
I just got an SGS II from Claro and I´m thinking of flashing it with this ROM to get rid of all that Claro crap (and get some original stuff back, like GTalk).
Can you hint me with the specific thread on how to flash SGS II with this ROM?
Thanks a lot.

So, the UHKE4 rom i flashed as avaliable from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 (manual included there) is a 2.3.3.
Again, mine was bought THE DAY AFTER it was released here in Brazil, in late June so it has the hw version from Chile.
Aside from that it's all fine and dandy!
The major difference from the 2.3.4 FW is that you don't get Folha and Livraria Cultura apps.

My reason of asking was that I thought stock firmware modders would know what were the changes. At least from what files had been changed. Guess I was wrong then.

If you do not know anything about this: start reading and learn. There are many excellent tutorials in all the sticky threads made by members exactly for this purpose.
If you do not want to do this (and by asking for "exaxt steps" it feels like this): do not root, stay on stock and be happy. Even here you can solve your problems by simply making a factory reset and remove apps if necessary.
Do not assume people did not read what is posted, when you assume you just showed that you are arrogant and disrespectful. And if you have nothing better to say other then show off your power in a web site, you can STFU.
Guess this site is not as helpful either!!
Thanks a bunch!

Hi,
I just read The Beginner's Guild to Root Galaxy Note, I am not sure which kernel I need to download for use with Method 2 to root my phone. My Galaxy Note 1 is running JB 4.1.2. Baseband Version is N7000XXLT3, Kernel Version is totally different than what was explained on the guide. My Kernel Version reads something like this: 3.0.31-1279458
[email protected] #3
SMP.PREEMPT Mon Jun24 19:41:50 KST 2013
No idea which kernel will match with this version for the root process; I looked in the link provided, seems like it's all letters for the kernel files and not numbers like mine, not sure what to look for there; if someone could kindly point me the right file to download, that would be much appreciated!!
Also, the Build number on my phone is: JZO54K.N7000ZSLR1. I found from your site that there is a file called "PhilZ-cwm6-ZSLR1-OZS-5.11.2-signed". Will this be the file I need to root my phone? And by following method 2 in the guide, will this file do the job then? Please confirm!
I am planning to use method 2 to root my phone, seems to be the easiest and safest way to do so. Just want to make sure I got the right file/kernel and the right way to do it, please advise!! Thanks a bunch!!

Hi Guys i have developed a Swollen battery for my i9505 and have arranged a replacement via warranty and and Samsung. They need to see the phone along with battery however, My phone is currently rooted with cwm recovery installed. I need to bring it back to official firmware and i am looking for the same firmware the phone came with.
I am not to sure what region the original firmware was based on. I am from the UK and the phone was on o2 network. These are my about details prior to modification:
Android 4.2.2
Baseband Version: I9505XXUBMF8
Kernal Version: 3.4.0-917495 [email protected] #1 Wed June 19 20:07:29 KST 2013
Build: JDQ39.I9505XXUBMF8
SELinux: Permissive
Secure Boot Status: Type: Samsung
I believe i have the old boot-loader and my device is Knox free. I am looking for this firmware but cannot find it. I did some research and came across it on DjeMBeY's thread however the stock firmware he has link to was on Hotfile which is no longer running.
Can someone please help me find alternative link to my required firmware please? Also if my firmware was "MF8" does this mean all MF8's are the for the same region? or will there be separate MF8's for separate regions?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
AndroidFirmwares.net or Samsung-Updates.com, if they don't have what you need you're probably SOOL, at least until Samfirmware have all their stuff back up (when they put stuff up on Terra, they seem to have started with the most recent stuff working back, but it seems a bit 'patchy' I.E some recent stuff is up, some isn't).

Sorry for being such a noob but I have never ordered a device internationally before. Anyways I have just rooted my device (SM-P605) and I'm curious what the latest firmware is because I don't believe I get OTA upgrades here in the States. Right now I'm running Android 4.3 on baseband version P605XXUBMJ4 and Build Number JSS15J.P605ZSUBMJ6.
Is there a newer version I should be using? Trying to check via the official bounces me to Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available.
Also, are there plans for Kit Kat in the future? Or perhaps there already is a mod that includes the latest version of Android.
MJ9 is the Latest i guess

Yes, but no release date is set, or known by us. Samsung said "soon".

How do I manually upgrade to MJ9? Do I need to un-root and flash to stock before doing anything. I also notice that my basebuild and build are running different numbers. How did that happen, is it a problem, and how do you fix it?

I'd also like to know if there is a specific version of the upgrade that I need to download. Region specific. I don't want to brick it. Will any download of P605XXUBMJ9 run perfectly on this device? Do I also need a certain file to upgrade the baseband?

downloaded, rooted (de la vega) and installed. Works perfectly. now would be interesting to know the change-log
I flashed the Italian ML1 and the note is working fine.

I'd also like to know if there is a specific version of the upgrade that I need to download. Region specific. I don't want to brick it. Will any download of P605XXUBMJ9 run perfectly on this device?
Do I also need a certain file to upgrade the baseband?

You will not brick it, in the worst case you'd have to flash it again with another CSC. CSC is the region of your device. For a close shot, forget about the country and either flash US firmwares if your device is US, or EU firmwares if your device is anywhere from Europe.
No, it is included in the firmware file. There is absolutely no reason to look for a baseband file (or RIL).
Unless your driver somehow got screwed, which usually happens when you install wrong, or badly matched kernels. In that case you will hear very disturbed sound (this error is very clear, if you get this problem, you know 100% that it is there. It isn't like "did i hear a scratch in my speaker for a second?").

How do I manually upgrade to MJ9? Do I need to un-root and flash to stock before doing anything

Get Odin, get the drivers, read the instruction. Just the usual odin procedure.
You don't need to unroot/re-stock, but if you are very paranoid, you can use a custom recovery to wipe /system before flashing (don't do it unless you know you need it. If you don't - you don't need to do it. I am only telling you this because you might want it in the future when you try many different modded ROMs).
Baseband and build v. can differ, this is not a problem nor something you should worry about.

sadly no
have u guys tried older firmware like mj2 or mia? if mj9 is hackable then older versions also likely can be hacked from what i learnt. but the question is, whether a bootloader downgrade is allowed/possible

do you know if there is any firmware for sm-p605 with multiple user support?
No there isnt. When KitKat comes we get Multiuser Support.
You can't downgrade the bootloader.
Flashing an older firmware that the bootloader doesn't support will end up with a tablet hanging on the samsung logo. Just need to reflash newer firmware to fix
Flashing a bootloader for another device - you might as well throw it off a highrise and hope it still works when it hits bottom...
P600 and P601 roms WILL NOT work with the P605. It's like trying to use helicopter parts to fix a car engine....
