I have auto-sync enabled for weather, stocks, etc with an interval of one hour. My data auto-syncs at xx:37 each hour. Is there any way to change this to some time other than :37? I have tried manually syncing each app and syncing all "accounts" at xx:30 and they sync fine, but they sunc again at xx:37 and each hour after that at xx:37. Thanks!
Where are you forcing the sync? From inside the app?
I think you need to go to settins>accounts&sync>stocks
Uncheck the box. Recheck the box at :00 or whatever time it is you want.

I have two Google accounts setup on my Android. I only want one of the accounts to sync contacts and calendar with Gmail, but it automatically syncs both accounts. How do I prevent it from doing that?
When I try to delete one of the accounts, it gives me an error saying "This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults..."
If I do a factor reset, will it remove all my current contacts, calendar, messages, app, etc?
Try this:
Go into Settings > Accounts & Sync > click on your google account you don't want to sync anymore, untick the options for syncing.
I'm not sure if it will allow you to not sync but I can't see why it shouldn't

There is no "checkbox" to prevent syncing. If I tap on it, it starts automatically syncing.
I am running froyo 2.2
First of all I don't have Advanced Task Killer and such ..
I noticed that Google Calendar (and Tasks) are being automatically synced to cloud only once per day. If I create a new entry either on my desktop PC or on the phone it will not be reflected on the other side until I wait 24hrs or perform manual sync.
Something is not right, since it is hard to use calendar that way. Its entries should be synced more frequently than once per 24hrs.
Should it be application business to force sync then? I use Jorte BTW.
Sync setting is on and I have calendar, contacts, gmail and Picassa sync enabled.
Gmail sync is working perfectly (well this is more like "push email" service).
Any ideas?
Other than the Titanic?
Looking at settings/accounts-google/xxxatGmail What do have checked to sync there? All I have checked is Calendar, I do all others manually. I use K9 mail, so Gmail doesn't need syncing. I seldom add or delete a contact, so I manually do that monthly. I "believe" I am saving precious battery not syncing. Typically get 36-48 hours.
Also have location access off, unless an app asks for it.

Syncing is done via Push now. Your phone doesn't periodically go off and sync every few minutes, instead it waits to be told it has something to sync, this is all done through Google Play services, so is battery friendly. If you get lots of notifications this will cause extra battery drain as of course your phone is constantly being nudged to wakeup and alert you to something, so options are to uncheck these from syncing from the Accounts setting page.

Thanx.
What u wrote is correct but nevertheless i want to sync only ones a day.
This without doing it manually by going to the Settings...

When I go to Settings > Accounts > Google, it shows me a list of services that are sync'd. Like Contacts, Gmail, etc.
At the very bottom of the list, there's Tasks, but that was last sync'd days ago. I tried to turn it off, restart the phone, and turn the Tasks syncing back on, but it just gives a refresh icon and fails to sync.
Any ideas?
I have the same problem for about for weeks, did you resolve the issue, if so how? Thanks
I don't even have Tasks in my list. I assume it's related to Google Keep?
I returned my 6P because I didn't like the camera. I'm back to my S6 and tasks are syncing correctly now.
