I have an Evo with stock OS. When I first didn't see any way of storing browser bookmarks into folders, I assumed I just needed to dig deeper. But now I've convinced myself that there is no way to create folders & store browser bookmarks into folders that are integrated into the browser. That really surprises me. I was able to do that in 2005 with WinMo.
Is there another version of the web browser that supports storing bookmarks in folders? If not - can someone recommend a decent browser that does?
if you're looking for a folder in sense, then just create one. then create shortcuts to your bookmarks you want. then drag and drop them into your folder.
btw this should be in the Q&A section. not here.

SUCCESS!!! TO SAVE IMAGES U NEEED A NEW BROSER CALLED NETFRONT VERSION 3.1 FOR POCKET PC Version3 (windows mobile version 3, same thing).
Get it from
http://nfppc.access.co.jp/english/index.html
It even comes with JVM, so u can run JAVA APPLETS ON YOUR XDA 2 !!
make sure you enable the JAVA function after you install the browser.
Go into browser settings and enable JAVA from the plugin section.

Easy to save images from Web
this may sound weird - but I noticed that when i surfed the web, there were lots of temp internet files that were saved... which naturally i automatically deleted when closing the connection.
however... when u pop into "my pictures" on the pda, you will notice that the picture files have been copied into there, usually named like they would be on a pc.
hope this helps.

I guess spb Pocket Plus 2.1 has the feature of saving images while using PIE, beside having other good features like "Close" button, dealing with zip files, oppening new windows in PIE, etc, battery indicator, etc...
I'd like to put some PDFs on one of the homescreens on my Xoom. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot but it doesn't seem to have the capability built in. Could someone explain to me how to do this? I downloaded ES File Explorer and found the pdf in the download directory. I assume I can just cut and paste it to a directory and it will show up on a homescreen?

I do the same thing. We recently bought a house and everyone always as me for pictures and the floor plan. I created a pdf that I sent around, but it's useful to have it on the xoom to show people.
I have two suggestions, both of which I use:
1. Download Astro. You can then create a direct shortcut to any file including a pdf. Go to "+" --> More --> Astro. Browse to the file you want. The location depends on how you got the pdf onto the device. Since that file doesn't change, that works.
2. Use dropbox. This is good option for pdf's that change a lot. I often read weekly publications that I get in pdf. I created a direct shortcut to a dropbox folder. When I'm using my computer, I get and store pdf's there and use it as a "read later" option. Creating the dropbox folder is also in the "more" tab.
Both work for me pretty well. hope this helps.
to answer the OP android doesn't support files on the home screen like a desktop on windows or Mac
I know I can use folders to organize my home pages, but is there anyway to organize my actual apps? I'd like them to be organized in folders from the app page itself, but I don't wanna root the phone. I'm assuming there's likely no way?
I tried to search the forums first so apologies if this was already asked/answered.
I use box.com for cloud storage (150 gigs free!). Lets assume I have a public folder with the link https://www.box.com/s/blawblawblaw is their a way to create a folder that points to it? Im not looking to sync as I have more stuff then room on the tablet. I know I can use various file managers to view the files with but thats now what I need. A example would be a ebook. I want moon+ to be able to view the folder containing my ebooks just like it can any folder on my actualy tablet I just want it to be able to do this from the cloud instead of local storage. Same idea for audio, vg roms and such. I believe dropbox had a feature like that built in. Thanx guys
On the old Jellybean browser you could save webpages for offline viewing. I am going through a divorce and need to convert these pages into files that can be worked with, i.e. get them to my attorney. Currently the only way to access them is to view them on the phone through the browser. Any help in locating these files or being able to work with them would be GREATLY appreciated. I found a database of the pages in data/data/com.android.browser but not the actual file of the saved webpage.....not that it matters but they are evidence of my soon to be ex spouse's "mistakes."
