apps2sd is enabled under settings>applications
navigation and maps works outta the box

Phone looks beautiful. So far I'm a little let down by the hinge. It seems it isn't sprint loaded, and just does its own thing. If you hold it upside down , it detaches. I hope it is just a defect in my, else this will be very annoying.

I can confirm the silver around the trackpad*** IS A NOTIFICATION LED. Currently only seeing WHITE for a text. Will post a ghetto pic

That being said, how does the keyboard feel? I heard it isnt as raised as some like. Is it easy to press keys still? I like being able to touch type. I used to be so good at it I could stare my teacher/friend/date in the face and theyd never know that I was secretly text messaging like crazy. Never had any typos either

Oh I know the feeling.
They keyboard is ... Good. I sold my N1 for an Epic, and the epic has a nice 5 row-er.
The keyboard on the G2 has a "rough"ish texture to it. However it has beautiful tactile feedback and is enjoyable for sure.

Apologies for the duplicate post but could you tell us about the GSM/UMTS bands the g2 supports? I've been reading conflicting reports on it.

How do you unlock..

So I don't not have my MT4G yet. Still have my MT3G chugging away. But I just ordered the 4 so i thought I would ask a couple of questions in preparation for mine arriving next week.
1st. How do you unlock the screen from standby? Is it the menu button like my 3g, & old g1, Or is it an awkward ass button in an annoying spot like the g2 (cant stand the unlock button up top on my wifes g2).
2nd. How bloated is the stock rom? I have seen reports of it being full of crap thats not needed & most of it not wanted unlike the g2 that has a very clean install. And if it is full of **** is there a good factory replacement rom (after rooting of course) that will still get updates & has all hardware working?

You can unlock via the button, or by pressing the track pad
As for bloatware, there is some, but you can always flash CM

Agreed. The power button and the trackpad will both unlock.
As for bloatware; I removed (froze in TB) all the games, my faves, friend stream, visual voicemail, swype and a few other small things.
Runs fantastic now.

right on.. So the biggest problem being the unlock is a non issue apparently. I wish it would work that way on my wifes g2.
As for the OS can you also remove the sence UI. I used it a while back on my g1 & honestly prefer the generic android interface.

Removing Sense would require a different ROM or a theme if you use ADW or LPP.

Correct. But if you load a ROM from...say Cyanogen, you can get updates to that ROM through the Cyanogen Updater which you can dl from the Market.

mt4g has some bloat for sure. i removed faves/family app and widget, news app and widget, stocks app and widget, flickr, facebook, all of the stupid themes to setup the phone other than carrera, all of the stock wallpapers and ringtones, all of the yahoo crap, monopoly, asphalt 5 and some other stuff i dont remember. phones running great. i made a few of my own tweaks to it, but u can definitely remove the above crap safely with no issue. just make a backup first in case you need to send the phone back. on a sidenote, you said the g2 was a clean install. to an extent. i had a g2 as well and it was full of bloat, right on par with the mt4g. i mean 15 or so google apps preloaded on it, not to mention the rest. anyway though, i hope this helps

Here's a little something I'm cooking up for everyone running the gingerbread leak. yes you will need to be deodexed and obviously you will need to be rooted.
this includes the screen off animation, stock gb keyboard as an option (if you like the dx gb keyboard you can still use that), and a transparent notification background. let me know what you guys think and if you have any suggestions

An undo zip would essentially be the same thing as a backup. Flashed the same way and more reliable than me having to go through and create a whole separate zip reverting all of my changes.

It's okay I recently bought Sliding Messaging, its a great app made from someone here on XDA! Comes with emojis and everything you can imagine still in heavy development, only con is mms messages. Besides that, it's a good app.

My current phone, an HTC Vivid, had cm10 with emojis, but it had a in-call bug that volume was too low and you had to scream for others to hear you, so i replaced it with another ROM. Is there already a root for the S4?

Lol, I'm with ATT and got the tracking number today :victory: I think I'm going to be working when it gets here :crying:

Just an update, I found these 'emojis' in my Instagram profile. I previously typed them in using my emoji enabled iPad 3rd gen & these are what appeared when I was using my G4. Normally on my other phone, they were just obnoxious blank squares.
