Small request: Help build gnash - Android Software Development

The development of the opensource flash player GNash and swfdec has come quite a long ways, havent seen much building of its core and improvements with integration for android 2.2 yet.
Has anyone been able to get a version of gnash working for everyday use ?
Kind Regards,
David

TyTn (Hermes) with Android.. Possible???

Just wondering if anyone has come across anything which might indicate that Android may be able to be installed on the Hermes?
I have seen videos of Kaiser (TyTn II) running an older version, and the specs are quite similar between the two handsets.
With cookers moving onto newer devices, it would be nice to see some development of Android on the TyTn to bring new life into the old dog. God knows we will not see any new windows mobile versions past 6.1.
Anyone else agree or have any comments? I think Android may be a great alternative to this excellent phone.
Just my 2 cents.
Hi dravenb_4u,
please discover the search function in this forum first.
There had been a lot of threads discussing this issue so far:

To run any kind of android code on hermes there's the need of porting a useful linux to this platform.
See this thread as a starting point:

I like the hermes very much and it's still my favorite phone.
Best one for everyday usage and to play around with gimmicks.
It's quite normal that people are more curious about new devices.
But should i spend so much money for an up to date gadget???
I won't!
At least there are quite a lot of posts in the hermes section.
So i think because it is a very useful phone some people will keep it alive
Also have o look at openmoko.org and you'll see what could be done with opensource .
Best regards,

Question On Android Coming To HD2

If android does come to the HD2...will they also be able to bring the android market and google sync with? So u can have all the apps that android provides?
Let me get into my time machine and find out for you.
brb.
There is a Q&A forum for this kind of threads. And looks like an Android Development forum for HD2 is on it's way
It would depend on the app and the hardware that it might need to use. Android when ported to a phone it was not intended not all the hardware works or works perfectly.

Samsung Wave Android Port Any Chances ?

hey now that the bada zone is finally open i just wanted to know if there is any chance to port android to the wave i mean bada runs on linux so there must be a way.
i just want to know it for a friend that hate hes phone now coz of bada haha
i mean i have lgp500 with droid so i am happy if somebody got anynews please do report thx.
If you had some devs, who were ready to work on that project and if they found possibilities to have an breaktrough in to the Bada/Wave system, it would be possible to port Android to the Wave. But it still needs a lot of time and work to have an usable Android port. Some tried it some already resigned.
At the moment there are no big plans or progresses in this way.
By the way many smartphones/tablet OS runs on a Linux kernel. But it doesn't mean that they are similar to each other or that Bada is similar to Android.
Not to mention that the current bada phones don't use Linux for a kernel, but NucleusRTOS (as part of SHP). There is nothing in common with today's Android phones!
The JetDroid project is much closer.
There is already a thread open discussing this matter *HERE* so please post there as 2 threads talking about the exact same thing isnt productive to your goal.
Thread closed.
Mark.

Any Update On Honeycomb Development?

For the HD2 as the thread title says, i know there was a build by which i didn't flash and it was only for testing but im wondering if any other devs have come up with any solutions to the problems and wondering if it will be possible in time to have a stable everyday Honeycomb build for the HD2.
I use Coredroid as my daily build at present and very good it is too,i may bypass Gingerbread altogether if the devs manage to get a stable everyday build working.
PS-I do realise these things take some im just making an inquiry before anyone tries to flame me.
I'll assume there isn't then judging by the no response.
Try browsing the development section!
wrong thread.....

Any Codec Experts

Any codec experts want to throw their knowledge in there to get video/sound acceleration working for the ICS android development on the HP Touchpad.
I have been following the different ROMS and developers on here, rootzwiki, and even twitter and haven't seen a hand raised on working on this area yet or have some knowledge.
Just thought I would throw this out to the general community to see if anyone knows of someone.
Cheers!
