Noob cook needs help. - Windows Mobile
Thank you in advance ;-)
I have been trying to build a new rom and during the process found i need to update my rom with MANILA 2.5.2012. However when ever i boot my device i get the "launching htc Sense". I have tried to make sure that i have grabbed the correct start icon loader. I think that i am missing something simple but i am not sure.
I am trying to build a Rhodium with 21907.
I have attached my log just in case.
I think you need to add the appropiate initflashfiles.dat entries as well.
Initflashfiles.dat you can find in OEM_Lang_0409.
You can open it using a text editor.
I also see Manila packages duplicated in your buildlog.

got part of it to work Titanium and basic views.. trying again, now I also am adding maxsense, well i might have to wait till i get one done correctly ;-)
still not getting it
I gathered what looks like a complete package. I even left the default packages until i get this figured out i will move to customizing things.
I am running 21907 and trying to add Manila Sense 2.5
I made sure i have 1 of each item (unlike before with duplicates) and I checked my Start Icon loader (StartIconLoader_2_5_19224122_0 and StartIconLoader_2_5_20142625_0) i have tried both and it should be correct but I still get the "tap here to launch HTC SENSE" message.
I again attached my build log.
mmmm i think you have wrong set the packages, verify where "in the rom" are all of the files you has cooked inside... and if those files are there or maybe you grab a CFC manila compresed or you are using oskitchen with the CFC troubles... or... you need to tell us more info

[Q] Acer A500 bricked with no CWM
Desperately need help. I bricked my acer while trying to install itsmagic. Now I get yellow Asterix with Droid image in recovery mode. I downloaded multiple update.zip files from various threads and used "apply: sdcard:update.zip" from android system recovery utility. I always get "E: can't open /sdcard/update.zip" me being stupid did not note down the Image I had on it before bricking it. Is there a way to unbrick?
i do not think your tablet is bricked.go to thores full roms thread in dev. Download the correct rom for your area.put your SD card in a android phone format it put the file on your SD card put back in tablet and flash it. If you did all of this and have a 3.2 rom on your device the above will likely not work. Good luck
Thank you for the reply I downloaded one of the full images, renamed them as update.zip and tried to apply from Android System Recovery Utility. I get the same messages I got earlier Finding update package... Opening update package... E: Can't open /sdcard/update.zip (No such file or directory) Installation aborted. I erase all data using my nexus one and then in disc mode I copy the update.zip. I bought this in US. Could you please suggest me an image I could try?

Thank you for the response. I was using a 4GB microSD and now I switched to 2GB. Could you please point me to ROM Image for US region?
redux: my bricked a7
One more try to recover my A7: I can get to the Android system recovery utility, but the results of wipe and apply sdcard indicate parts (maybe all) of the os are missing. For example, here's what I get when I try to apply sdcard: update.zip: - Install from sdcard... E:Can't open MISC: (No such file of directory) Finding update package... E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 (No such file or directory) E: Can't mount SDCARD:update.zip Installation aborted. E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log E:recovery.c Can't open CACHE:recovery/log Formatting MISC:... One more point: After attaching usb cable to pc, when I adb devices, daemon starts and then it says "list of devices attached". Attention all gurus, I'd really like to recover this device. Thanks, ooorah
You never explained what you did to the unit to brick it ! OK...Well if you installed an A7+ rom on an A7 or visa versa the ELOCITY WEBSITE has a fix for you ! http://www.elocitynow.com/prod_a7-plus_downloads.shtml Dan
