I must say help is needed.
I followed the root procedure video and successfully got my X10 rooted.
Unfortunately, when I re-installed the mediascape lost due to the process, my X10 can no longer be turned on!
I followed the thread with id(712179) to re-install the mediascape.
Every time when I turn my X10 on, it shows only black screen with backlight on.
I must take the battery out to turn it off.
I repeated several times, but still, it fails to work.
I wanna root it once again, or at least, recover it.
But then, the device is not found by the computer.
I couldn't enter the recovery mode, nor the flash mode.
Hope anyone here can give me a pity coz it affects me a lot.

If you pull the battery, then press and hold the back button while pressing the power button the green LED should show before it 'sticks'. If this is the case, then you SHOULD be able to rerun step 1 of the root guide and it should bring your phone back up running.

I'm glad someone answered.
But there's no green LED showed, but it vibrates once.

I had a similar problem as most phones in Canada seem to have Download/Recovery mode disabled, and here is what worked for me.
Grab something like One Click Un Root (all models), and click one click un root (obviously phone has to be on and plugged into the computer).
This should automatically reboot you into Recovery Mode!
All you have to do is "wipe data/factory default" or something like that (should be the third option).
As it states, you will loose all your data, but at least you will have a functionning phone!
did it work?
Hi. I have similar problem. Can anybody give instruction what can I do?
I have this problem too. Please help somebody
Add me to the list. Bell Galaxy S, went to unlock my phone the screen went black. Now it will not boot into the OS, the galaxy S splash screen displays then nothing. The menu and back button light up, thats all. ****[email protected]@
I have not rooted or anything.
Of course my download mode does not work.. Going to try this one click root thing if I can find it.
NOT HAPPY
This is not working. Probably because the phone is not in USB debugging mode as I can't change it... Is there any other way to get the phone into recovery mode?
**** me
i had the same thing happen to me the other day with my bell galaxy s and my phone wont do the 3 button combo trick. i left my phone plugged in to a wall charger for a while until the back of the phone became a little warm. i pulled the battery and then left the power cord plugged in and put the battery back in. i held the volume down and enter button until the battery charging indicator showed up, then i also pressed and held the power button until the boot animation started (this is the blue moving swirl and music, not the galaxy s splash scree) and then i let go of the power button. it took a few attempts at this before it actually worked, but eventually it will go into download mode at which time you can open the odin app, then plug in the usb cable and flash your phone that way. it did seem to make a difference if the back of the phone (around the camera area) was warm. if i let go of the power button while the music was playing and the phone did not enter download mode i would keep all 3 buttons pressed until it shut down again, then i would only let go of the power button while the phone initiated the charging screen, then once the battery logo was displayed i would hold the 3 buttons again and would just keep doing this until it went into download mode. i have flashed it at least 5 times today and i have been able to do this each time.
i also had an issue where odin would not recognize my phone was plugged in and windows would show a message saying the usb device was not recognized. i left the phone plugged in and while in download mode i pressed the volume up, enter button and power button until the phone went blank and when the galaxy s logo showed up i let go of the power button and the phone would go into recovery mode and then the usb drivers would be installed. i would then do the 3 button combo for download mode and odin would work fine. it took several attempts but it does work. i hope this helps you guys
If I hold all three buttons the splash screen does not come on, it just keeps looping the Galaxy S logo until I let go of the power button....

That's what mine did too, several times in a row and then it worked. For some reason it only works after the battery is charging for a bit and the back becomes warm. then it works at will
No luck. I am probably screwed getting it exchanged now too as I am passed the 14 days from Best Buy.
the on click thing doesn't work, if your phone is already bricked.
also it is not the phone's fault for not working, the phone was working properly before you tried the hacks.
whenever you do these kind of things you know you are entering into the "not supported" "not covered by warranty" zone.
in the worse case scenario, if you can no enter download mode to recover your phone, it'll be to take the phone back to bell and claim warranty on it, and prentent you don't know what happened to it.

Its my fault??
I did not hack my phone. Its not rooted, I did nothing to it.
By "unlock" I meant exactly that, unlock as in swiping the screen to unlock it.
The more I search the net the more posts I find of Galaxy S phones randomly bricking...
on the original message sounded more like you went to Unlock the phone, as in SIM unlock the phone using any of the tools available out there, and there has been already several people which had the same problem.
if you go back to Bell for an exchange, you better not use the word "unlock" rather use Swipe
as the message on the phone "swipe the screen to unlock"
there are no known issue about this causing the phone to brick.
if that is what happened to you, you should have started a new topic for people to help you, instead of hijacking the topic from the OP, as your issue is different from OP, the OP actually screwed up because he/she flashed the wrong ROM to the i9000
... anyways, Does it work if you reboot the phone?
I have rebooted the phone about 100 times. The phone crashed when I unlocked it to check a text I received. (not hacked). Has not booted up properly since. I have found many others with the same issue who have also not hacked/rooted/unlocked/ their phones.
Waiting on Best Buy to call me back. I am so pissed right now, I have been bragging to my friends and co-workers how awesome this phone is, one has already picked one up, I hope his doesn't brick too. Not recommending it to anyone anymore..
did you load a lot of MP3 to the phone?
can you boot into Recovery Mode?
in the recovery mode you can wipe the Cache and wipe the data
that should make your phone work normal again
it'll be best to open a topic to help you trouble shoot your interesting issue, as it's the first i've hear that you get a black screen after Swiping out of the lock screen
I can't get into recovery mode. I have tried every button combination I have found. I had about 2 GB of music on the phone. I also installed the Android SDK to try ADB, but since the phone is not in USB debugging mode it does not see it.

on the other topics relating to the 3 button not working.
have you tried the heating up method?
or the plugging the battery in, when all 3 buttons are pressed? (of course for this one you will need help from a friend, unless you are very skilled at keeping the 3 button on hold meanwhile able to slide in the battery in with out a 3rd hand)
So I got a Thinkpad tablet and it already had the update mentioned above. I have everything set up on my computer and I try to root it using djrbliss way to do so but I get an error. Any one have any way to overcome this?? ive been looking but its all confusing since this is my first tablet. Sorry if I seem to be repeating any problems that have been solved but any help would be appreciated.
THanks
Your TPT is already on OTA2.5. This exploit (djrbliss) has been fixed with OTA2.0 already.
You need to use this exploit:

After you do "DISABLE BATTERY DISCHARGE" it can happen that the screen will turn off and it will not come back after you press power button. Then you have to press power button for more then 4 seconds to force shutdown. After it should be possible to power up again.
I have tried to hold power button and hold it again but nothing...Its not like a phone where i can just do a battery pull I hope its not bricked please HELP!!
Ive tried different ways to shut it off and power back but nothing...
Have you tried hard power off? You will need a paperclip and push the button between the sd and simcard slot.
How long do I do that for? I have but its just for a few seconds..

Short press is ok. Try to power up with charger connected.
Still not working... Im officially about to start sh!tting bricks here!!!
did you do it with the tablet charged?
plug it in and wait half hour then hold power button and try again
Yeah I waited a few hours. I successfully rooted it the second time but I turned it off because that was trhe last step and it didnt come up anymore no matter what I tried. I just called lenovo and they sent me a box so I am shipping it out today.
I left it charging for like half a day and still nothing, Ive sent it in to Lenovo repair. Hopefully when I get it back again It'll be good
Now all I got to do is play the waiting game can't wait...
FIXED!!
So it ended up being the power button, so I now have a rooted tablet! Thanks guys

Guys,
so i've done some searching to no avail so i'm desperately asking for some help so i can fix my pregnant's wife cell phone (she really needs it)
I rooted her LG G2 (ATT) some time back. I never installed any recovery or custom ROM. She received an update software notification and I told her not to accept. Well coincidently later on in the day her phone stopped working (she states she did press software update button).
He phone is bricked and boots only to the LG G2 logo and she gets a boot certification error and phone turns off (but i think screen still off).
Attempting to do a hard reset did not work, i got the same LG screen with same error
I decided to flash back to stock, i understand the process and have done this before on my LG G3.
Only problem is when i try to go into download mode and plug USB into phone I get pop up messages on my laptop asking me to format local disk h: I notice that every time I attempt to go into download mode and plug the phone in, i get a bunch of local drives that pop up. I tried formatting out of desperation, but it told me disk was protected.
No idea wha'ts going on. Anyone know why i get a bunch of local drive disks instead of my phone going into download mode when i plug into my laptop?
I greatly appreciate the help, i've been at this for 3 hrs and i'm frustrated.
I think my problem may be that the phone is not truly "OFF" and i don't know how to turn this completely off since there's no battery to pull. I'm not even sure if this is the problem, but just an idea.
I tried letting the phone die completely. I thought i'd be able to let it die, charge it a bit, then hold volume up and plug it into computer to get into download mode. I thought i was a genius, until the phone died and as soon as i plugged it into charge it automatically went into bootloop again.
I think the problem is that i can't turn off the phone to get into download mode.
Any ideas?
bumping in this in hopes of some help. Still can't get this thing to go into download mode.

When I get a boot certification error my phone is always in a state when I can never truly turn it off.
When I hold the POWER button it turns OFF, then immediately turns ON again when I release the POWER button.
My solution? Hold the POWER button down for about 30 seconds.
My screen turns off at around the 10 second mark and after a while I let go of the POWER button and my phone stays OFF.
It's probably best to do this in a dark room so you can tell if the screen is really OFF.
If you're having trouble truly turning your device OFF, try THIS tutorial. It involves removing the rear case of your G2 and disconnecting your Battery.
Okay now.. assuming you got your phone to turn OFF.. continue reading..
Make sure you have the LG Drivers installed on your PC. You can download them HERE.
After installing those Drivers, download and install the Universal ADB Drivers from HERE.
Now after doing the above, try Download Mode again. Hold Volume UP and plug your phone into your PC via USB (keep holding Volume UP until you see "Download Mode").
Success? If so.. visit THIS tutorial and do the "TOT Method".
No Success? Post back and let me know :good:. You may need to follow THIS tutorial as a final solution.

I am still going to try this method so i can restore and sell on ebay. Hope it works!
You're welcome.

Hello everyone,
I have an S3 neo, it's 6 months old. About 2 months ago i started checking in this forums, and then i flashed cm12, and started adding custom roms to my phone. Everything was well, phone was working fine, and so on.
One morning i woke up and my phone went off, and when i turn it on, it's black screen. I restarted few times, took out memory card, and poof it worked. Was all good.
I left it like that and next morning it happened again. And since then i tried all the ways, like take out battery, hold power button 1 min then try to turn it on after few minutes, and so on. Nothing worked. Pulling out memmory card or sim card didn't work either. It's like this for almost 2 weeks i can't use the phone.
I cant get in download mode or custom recovery i i don't know why it won't react on that. It turns on each time like normally, led notifiaction works, the lights on home and back button works, only screen is black. I can unlock it, and such things but cant see anything.
I even succesfully did a factory reset over play store from pc, but that didn't help either..
Biggest problem is that its under warranty but since custom rom i can't take it to service unless i have money to pay... which i dont
I have NEVER DROPPED it, it was never in water, and so on. Doesn't have a scratch at all.
It even has sound, and everything. Just freaking black screen ....
So what i am asking is if anyone here knows how to remove custom rom and custom recovery over pc,is it possible, without the screen? Any way to do it so i can get warranty back ? All i need is a freaking stock rom and stock recovery and a binary reset i guess. Just freaking would need screen to work for 5 mins eh....
If anyone has any ideas please post them, thanks..

I think you can boot to download mode or revovery. The LED notifi and backlight buttons won't turn on if you boot to download mode or recovery.
Just try to boot to...
1. download mode. Just press and hold for 2-3 seconds power + home + volume down
2. then wait 3 seconds. After that press volume up.
3. Connect your phone to pc, open odin and check if a device is connected.
4. If a device was found by odin - flash a ROM (stock or something else) and hope that this will fix the black screen problem.
Good luck!!
Hi, thanks for ur reply but... My phone turns on when i click home + volume down + power button. I hear sound, blue led notification and so on.......
But when turned on, when i connect to usb odin recognizes it, says connected, and when i try to install the rom i it takes really long and on the end i get fail..*attached the screenshot of fail) I guess because its not in download mode. Any other suggestions how i could get in download mode more?
More suggestions please?thanks
Anyone has any ideas ?
So what all i tried is
Remove battery, hold power button for 1-2 mins, let phone for few mins and turn it on. didn't work
I tried with adb,but usb debugging not on so cmd cant find my device
Only thing left i guess if someone has idea how to get in download mode in some other way or some program that doesnt reguire download mode but can flash rom and etc.
@Crazeh
Take it back to the nearest service center and act the dumb ("I don't know what is wrong with it")
I have done that many times
They are prob gonna call me and tell me to pay for fix
No one has any idea what else should i try ?
try link2sd app form play store. it has the option to boot to download mode. I think titanium backup has the feature also.
My screen is black so i can't do anything on it.....
try to disable ambient screen. report if problem persist
How should i disable ambient screen ? While i can't see anything on phone cause of black screen ?thanks for reply Rox

ok so i think your problem isn't due to any rom but hardware problem
power off your phone remove the back , look on the left you see a little trap , open it , now you see connector it is the one of the screen try to see if you can disconnect and reconnect it
power on your phone and see if it work :fingers-crossed:
Where is that little trap?
btw if i do this will i loose my warranty completely ?

If Odin recognizes it, it means it's in Download mode. The device has different interaction with the host over USB when it's not in Download mode.
I don't see the screenshot of the failure. It may be that something got broken in your hardware, so the flashing fails. There's a known issue with the S3 called "Sudden death syndrome", I don't know if it applies also to the S3 Neo, where some of the memory of the ROM fails suddenly. If that is the case (I'm not saying it is, but it might be), there's no fix other than replacing the hardware.
Odin doesnt go over setup connection. cant post screenshot bc im new to the site. btw im sure the phone is on but recognized in odin...
Hello all,
First of all I will start and say, I AM NEVER GOING TO BUY ONEPLUS EVER AGAIN!
So yesterday I was using the phone normally when all of a sudden it's screen turned black for no reason! Just like that. The phone was responsive, so I thought it was a bug and I restarted it by pressing the power button for 10 seconds, I thought it will solve it out but to my surprise it didn't, and the screen is black till now.
I am using "Tool All In One" so when I turn on the phone I get indication about it state. So I managed to get into fastboot state ,and "adb unauthorized" state.
I tried installing recovery mode but it didn't even boot into it,Its turn the phone off.
My bootloader is unlocked.
I tried using "scrcpy" to mirror my screen but it doesn't allow me because adb is unauthorized and I can't authorized with black screen.
Do you guys have any suggestions ? I don't care about this trash phone I only care about the data, after I extract the data I going to throw it off the 12 floor.
Thank you guys ! <3
Is it possible that you have accidentally put the device into EDL mode?
Try the following steps:
1. Make sure the device is unplugged.
2. Hold the power and volume up keys for at least 30 seconds.
You should feel the device vibrate and reboot into Android.
