I'm new to the phone, had it about a week. I did a search for my issue and found a few threads, but none that were the same problem as mine. I'm new to the terminology, so maybe I was asking the wrong question. Here it goes anyways.
I have my phone Tmobile HTC HD2 (stock rom 2.13.531.1 (90963)) setup with Voice command on.
Under VC settings I have phone checked with announce incoming calls checked as well. Checked to play through phone speaker or wired headset. When I receive a call, it will "ring" with whatever ringtone i have selected for about 1 second before it stops "ringing". The call is still incoming, but no other sound is heard. As soon as I uncheck announce incoming calls, my phone "rings" normally again. I know it's bugged and doesn't work with the bluetooth currently, but I've seen posts where people say it should work for the phones speaker. Just trying to figure out what I've done wrong.
Thanks in advanced! Any help would be great.
Hrm no one ?

Installed Voice Command 1.5 and all is well.
Apart from the fact that the voice is really quiet when announcing the callerID for an incoming call.
It is fine when announcing other stuff.
My laymans diagnosis is that the voice seems to be coming through on the same channel as the ringtone and so when voice command automatically lowers the volume for the ringer, it has the knockon effect of making itself really quiet too. Tried using WAV and MP3 ringtones... all the same
This is really annoying as callerID is so useful for answering calls with the screen closed
Anyone else got or fixed this?
Same problem - Any Solutions yet
Stu
Nope, no solution yet.
Could anyone let us know if they have voice command working fully on any flavour of the HTC Universal.
Let us know if when you get an incoming call the ringer volume is lowered but the voice announcement remains at proper volume? If so it means it is working and there is something duff on mine and Pegasus626's devices
There's also an issue with the "SHOW CONTACTNAME" command as on mine it comes up blank and you have to try to edit the notes to see the details!!! odd
I am beginnning to think we may have to wait till voice command 2.0!

setup ringtone to vibration only and you can hear the voice announcement very well
U.d.o, thanks for that. that's the closest i've got so far
still bloomin quiet though.
odd that if you set vibrate on from the today screen it turns off the volume to the pda too. Can only do it by setting both volumes full then going into settings > phone > vibrate only
On your device U.d.o, is it still much quieter than other announcements such as battery level?
Wonder anyone got this problem, make outgoing call or incoming call, no voice from
speaker. But if I press "Speaker On" during call I can hear the party voice. Playing
music song playback sound ok, only during call conversation can't hear any sound.
Any advice? Thanks.

How long is your HTC Touch ? Mine is one year+ and if yours also a year+ phone, then
I probably can confirm the Touch got this problem and phone do not last long.
Same thing started happening to my Rogers elfin. On incoming calls, my microphone won't work unless I'm on speaker phone. I can't even make outgoing calls anymore. I keep getting the message "Call Ended".
I've tried flashing my original backup ROM and several different ROMS all with no success.
Anybody have any idea how to fix this please?
please a solution ....same problem
Try this:
During incoming call press volume button up. This isn't a tweak, it's just the normal settings. If it doesn't work you might have a hardware issue.
So I'm using the Touch HD and it is working flawlessly so far but the one thing that bothers me is incoming calls. Sometimes the phone will just vibrate and not ring, other times it will be a delay before the ringer comes in and announces who's calling. OR it might just display the number and no name with it.
Currently I have gyrator2 running, with MS Voice Command and the Sim Contacts Hider. I have a custom ringtone cut, thats .mp3 format. Is any of these the problem? I disabled gyrator2 to only work if my stylist is out to see if that will help but it gets annoying to not be able to receive calls flawlessly without any problems. I was leaning that it might be MS Voice Command...
Any suggestions?
I had a similar problem on my Palm 750 and sorted it by disabling voice dialling from one of the Settings options. You might start there.
i have the problem that if i miss calls my phone simply doenst ring, i can receive sms but no calls even full GSM net?the missing calls werent displayed also- anyone else having this issue?
That sounds like more of a network issue then a handset one to me.
I would suggest that you speak to your service provider about the issue. If they provided you with the handset they should be able to help.
missing calls htc hd2
Yes I have missed calls, phone often does not ring at all, always happens if placed in pocket ie upside down or walking. Initially thought it was the "Quiet ring on pickup" being activated whilst walking. but no, have turned off ,also tried Pocket mode on and off,get message missed call even upright in car.?? The caller sometimes gets message after several rings that the phone they are trying to contact is already on a call ??
have ROM version 1.66.707.1 radio 2.06.51.07
Not going to contact HTC again as they seem to know less than me and their voip calls are woefull. Cheers
Hi Rocker

I've the S4 for a little over a week, but it's been a rather busy week so I haven't given it my full attention as yet. I really like it so far, I haven't gotten all the bells and whistles to work and I'm testing battery life with them disabled vs enabled etc. But I'm not really doing much else with it yet.
The only actual issue I'm having is receiving phone calls. When someone calls me, it takes a couple rings on their end before my phone starts ringing (I've encountered this with Sprint before though) but then when I try to answer the call, I don't get the person on the other end. I get a recorded message telling me I've got an incoming call from (name of caller in my contacts list) and if I want to accept to press 1 now. The message takes so long to get to that point that by the time it tells me to press 1 to accept the call, the call goes into voicemail.
I don't receive a lot of phone calls, but I would like to be able to actually answer them when I do. As of now when someone does call me I have to call them back.
This message plays AFTER I've 'accepted' the call on the screen and it plays through the handset not the speakers. I have Google voice set up for my voicemail.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you have google voice setup or you used to. You will have to go to the site on your pc to disable it.

I thought Google Voice had something to do with it but I didn't think of checking the settings via PC.
For anyone else with the same issue: Google.com/voice>settings>calls> call screening off.
