I'm thinking about getting into the world of Android and smartphones but I'm not sure which phone to get. The Samsung Captivate is good and I have used it before but the Bravo just came out and it seems good as well. I'm not sure which one would be a better choice. Can anyone help?
good news for ya! i have the captivate and my wife just got the bravo so if you have any q's id gladly answer as best i could.. do you plan on rooting/modding the captivate at all? if so the captivate forums are packed full of different ideas. I am having a blast fiddling with mine.

If I got either one, I would root it since I'm not a big fan of TouchWiz or MotoBlur and would get rid of it. Is the Bravo as smooth as the Captivate for performance, games, and overall usage? Can you list pros and cons of both?
I too am pondering getting the Bravo or going back to the Captivate, has the Captivates GPS issues been fixed?
If you plan on rooting either then i would base my decesion on aesthetics, screen size, feel in your hand, etc.

cons: gps issues. mine seems fine..fix within 30 secs and tracks to about 20 meters. but I have heard of some phones being not so good. this is a samsung/att issue and not a firmware problem.
That is really the only issue i have with the phone. in the stock rom (2.1) the bottom keys had a 1/2 second to 1 second delay from when i pressed to when the phone would actually respond.. this was extremely annoying for me..but all was fixed with the froyo leaks

I won't really use the GPS so that's not an issue for me. How's battery life on them? Also I heard the screen on the Bravo is actually pretty good for a TFT LCD. Do you think once Froyo comes to the Bravo it will perform just as good as the Captivate?
As a Galaxy S owner I would add that you would need to be clinically insane to choose a Bravo over the Captivate =P
It's just no comparison...Captivate has better specs, MUCH better screen, better camera/video, guaranteed upgrade to Froyo and most likely Gingerbread.
Motoblur sucks bigtime, and who knows, it could take a year before you get Froyo.
Is it worth upgrading right now? I can upgrade in October of 2011, but my dad said I can take his account to upgrade......
What are you using now? Yes the bravo screen is decent but it does not compare to the amoled...

i'm using just a regular feature phone. the thing about the bravo that intrigues me is the better battery life, crystal talk, and fm radio
I have both phones.
The captivate is a better phone (spec wise) and the screen and size are awesome, but Samsung really goofed with their file system - reports of lag are true in many database intensive uses (email access) and really makes things annoying. Also, the Samsung email and Calendar customizations have nice pros, but also many cons.
The Bravo is a midrange phone but Moto did a nice job on email and calendar enhancements if you like Exchange integration.
I like the form factor and screen of the captivate, but the Bravo is a good solid phone. If you could get rid of MotoBlur it would be even better, but it is possible to ignore blur and enjoy the phone.
I used to think the Captivate was the hands down winner, but it has enough irritations that I like the Bravo for business use. For movies, the Captivate cant be beat.
dude, the Captivate is packed full of problems. the biggest downside is that it shuts off by itself. Unless you are a real tech wiz, I highly suggest you pick something else in the Galaxy S family. The vibrant is a good start.

I have a bravo and I'm quite proud of it knowing how much better it is than all of the other phones And it runs so fast! It's almost as good as the Droid X..., but just think, when it gets 2.2, it will TOWER over other phones. And 2.2 will be released for the phone the 1st quarter of 2010. Motorola doesn't know how to advertise phones, this phone is MUCH more powerful than it seems!!!

Just because the benchmark scores are higher doesn't make it a better phone. I use them as reference for seeing how good a phone is but I don't think too much of them.
I might go to the AT&T store and try the Bravo out for myself. But there's that rumored Motorola phone with the Tegra 2. Should I hold out for that?
Well yea, true.
The benchmark scores are a big deal though, I mean it shows you how powerful the phone is, but the Captivate does have a AMOLED screen and it takes HD video..., but I've always known Motorola to make pretty good quality phones.
And yes...that phone will be really awesome if they can find a way for a battery to power all of that stuff! It seems interesting to wait...and you know the more you wait the better things get, and I think it would be interesting if you waited, and if the phone didn't work out or if it was for a different carrier, then you could always go back to these phones, and by then they will be much cheaper!
If you don't wait then I think you should still get the bravo, it's a really nice phone!!

I suggest that you do some research in the captivate forum. 1036 quadrant score? If my Galaxy S would score that low I would be worried. I rarely get lower than 2200 quadrant score, personal record is 2504 by the way... only need a lag fix app and preferrably a custom kernel. the galaxy s series are bad ass phones if you enjoy fiddling a bit with them. cheers!
agreed, so much out there you can do with the captivate, i've had so much fun with this phone. not saying i didnt like the bravo, but i'd choose captivate as of right now

Once th xda REALLY gets a hold pf this phone, the Bravo, it will be MUCH more powerful. This thing has the capabilities of clocking the processor to 1ghz. And those scores are with 2.1, 2.2 will double the performance and like I said, thats coming soon! I rooted mine and was able to somewhat over clock, got it up to like 1400...but I can't wait until 2.2. It will be an awesome phone. But yea, stock Bravo to stock Galaxy S...Bravo wins. So I'm guessing over powered Galaxy S to over powered Bravo, the Bravo will easily win.
I mentioned this in another thread here, but this is my first smartphone, coming from a Moto RAZR. Two weeks later, I'm not sure how I hung onto that dinosaur for so long. I like the Bravo and will keep it. It may feel like my RAZR in six months, but for now it's a huge leap.

I am thoroughly confused with the two...Though the Arc is pretty new and expensive, if the difference between it and X10 is going to seize with the Gingerbread upgrade for X10, I will drop the idea of Arc...

Well to name a few you have hardware improvements (most notably in the ARC display), greater support for the future of Android, Unlocked bootloader, and on top of all that it looks damn sexy
I think what is being asked is, are the hardware differences REALLY that big? Is the improvement in responsiveness and speed mostly due to Gingerbread and will the upcoming X10 Gingerbread update improve the performance of the X10 to levels near the Arc?

You got it man. That's exactly what I am asking...infact, I hardly see any hardware difference between the two..I may be wrong...
Well, I am not an expert in comparing things very good but my personal opinion is that X10 & arc are total two different animal with some similarities. If you are a person that want the phone for its speed then you may say they are very same even though I still think ARC is more responsive(I had J 2.3.3 on my X10 which is fairly fast and optimized)
But the feel of the phone in your hand, hardware buttons, brightness of screen, size of the screen and picture quality of the camera and even the feel and look of the new power button has even more directed me to buy the arc. That was before I even get the phone but when you actually feel it then you will fall in love with many thing + thinness of the phone itself and well-thought line of the design.
Right @ this moment, X10 has lots of active developers which turned the phone from dead to an wonderfully working real X10(with locked bootloader, etc) but I think once arc gets more developers attention it will be a fast winner horse in terms of hardware and software.
It is all depends on you, you could even get HTC or Samsung with higher performance if you want. Depends on you. If I had the money I would get the arc.

Even though they both have 1Ghz Snapdragons, the MSM8255 in the arc is much better than the QSD8250 in the X10. X10 will never perform as well as arc, no matter what android version.
Then there is things like the better touch controller and other hardware differences that just make the arc feel so much nicer.
EDIT: for a comparison, HTC Desire has QSD8250, HTC Desire HD has MSM8255. Much better performance.
IS there a FPS limit on the arc? Is the touch screen that much more responsive? Thats one thing that has always bugged me about my X10. Typing on it is a nightmare sometimes.

Your contributions have made the X10i a great device to use, particularly the JVM and multi-touch work.
I had my X10i since August last year from brand new.
Unfortunately yesterday I dropped a heavy mountain bike pedal on it from a 1metre height which smashed the top-right of the screen. The touch panel still worked, but it started rebooting continuously (4x in a row at one point) and was beyond repair.
I'd always had rebooting issues (2-3x per week) but this somehow had made it considerably worse.
Insurance has let me buy a Galaxy S (I9000) for an extra NZ$57.
I'd like to say that the X10i had a considerably sharper and more detailed screen than the Galaxy S. This is immediately obvious.
The X10i felt far more solid. The Galaxy S feels a lot cheaper.
However, I'm really enjoying the responsiveness of the Galaxy S (after rooting etc) and it feels several times faster than the X10i.
Android 2.2 is great. It's really good news SE is upgrading the X10i to 2.3.
So again - thanks - see you on Gingerbread!

Bad time to have a accident! New phones are just around the corner. I am personally hanging on to my X10 until Galaxy SII comes out.
Totally agree.. wish I was getting an Arc as a replacement or Galaxy S2 as you say... but here in New Zealand we're often a few months behind the rest of the world and I needed the phone replaced soon... :-(
My friend has a captivate.
it's a good phone.
it definitely feels cheap though,
But its strong.
I've seen out dropped and stepped on.
The touch screen is much better.
You really should have held out for just a bit longer.
I'm holding out for the xperia play.
Wish it had hdmi out though.

All the reviews I've read beg to differ, especially the play which supposedly has a horrible screen

Firstly I got to say since the first time I held An X10 I fell in love and I wuldnt change for the world
But my Sister recently had a Galaxy S as a new phone and for the first time I'm actually jealous.

I had a captivate and then sold it and switched around and found my white x10. Honestly, when you have a good custom ROM on the x10, its speed is comparable to the Galaxy S (though I do have to admit the captivate I had was slightly faster).
I am someone who makes use of the camera on a phone, the x10 camera is seriously great and one of the reasons why I would pick x10 over GS. Second, is style, x10 is sexy, we all know this.
In terms of customizations, the Galaxy S series are more triumphant in this regard.

I spent hours and hours at times customising my X10i. I loaded different froms, JITted it numerous times, played with build.props and all - and I'd honestly say the Galaxy S is dramatically quicker still, even after I've now loaded most of the same apps onto it.
The screen feels more sensitive. The graphics are smoother. Loading apps is dramatically quicker.
I never felt the X10i's screen was accurate, like it was calibrated right, but if you used a Paint app and tried to draw straight corner-to-corner lines they were wiggly as anything. This meant sometimes clicking buttons, apps or typing was a little frustrating as you would have to top often slightly above the button.
The Galaxy S's camera is better and worse than the X10i.
Better: no stupid purple/green tinges when the picture is low contrast; it's way faster; the colours are more realistic. 30fps for 720p is really nice.
Worse: The resolution is definitely worse! The X10's camera eats the Samsung's 5mp in terms of resolution whether a bright outdoors photo or even high-ISO low-light indoors. There is also no auto-focus during video on the Galaxy S
If you're reading this and considering a Galaxy S, the things I miss are:
- LED notification (fix: NoLED, uses the AMOLED screen to display notifications instead. Seems okay.)
- Hardware camera button
- The weight of the X10, it felt like it was made better
- 8mp camera and video auto-focus
- SonyEricsson's UI overlay actually was pretty cool (not talking about Timescape here!)
The things I would never go back to the X10 for, that I like on the Galaxy:
- Speed.
- Touch screen that is accurate
- The extra RAM, built-in storage, etc.
- The better battery life (about 30-50% better so far)
- Thinness and lightness are quite nice actually.
I will probably come back to SE for the Arc - the camera and style really appeal to me.
I don't play games so the Play doesn't float my boat.
If anything, I used to sneer at Galaxy's as they looked "cheap". Now, I am thoroughly glad I changed and would definitely consider a Samsung phone as my next phone to be compared with SE Arc or Neo.
They're both great devices overall and have pros and cons of each.
I think the reason the galaxy feels much quicker than the x10 is because of the fps limit on the x10. When I tried the custom kernel that removed the fps cap the phone was sooooo much smoother, and just as smooth as my friend's galaxy s. But congrats on your new phone, I hope you enjoy it a lot !!!
I agree the Galaxy S is the better of the 2. I've had my friends Galaxy S here when I just had my X10 brand new (2 months ago) and both had stock ROM (2.2 on Galaxy, 2.1 on X10) and the Galaxy was superior.
Later I started using Wolfbreaks 2.2 ROM and that greatly increased the X10's performance but still it wasn't anywhere near the Galaxy, and that thing was still running stock.
I for one never had any regret getting the X10, mainly because of the price difference. I got mine using my moms phone plan because she didn't need a new one and I wanted to get rid of my W995. It costs me a total of €15x12 months = €180 in total for a brand new X10. The Galaxy would've been at least twice that amount.
Galaxy has superior gpu, screen & most obviously the software on a stock Froyo GS is miles ahead of Eclair with the Android platform and further the Samsung app quality is of a greater standard than Sony's.
16GB Internal storage and 32GB additional SDcard is always giving a huge benefit but the main point for me is the quality of the software, battery life, speed.. everything about a Galaxy S is better and the camera is damn good. Video calling is excellent!
What really surprised me, Sony invented the Walkman and Beta. So naturally I expected the sound to be better on a Sony, so wrong. Samsung is much clearer and more defined, as for the screen & gpu on the Galaxy it's impossible to even put the X10 beside it, like comparing analogue to HD with the X10 clearly made of infantile components, compared to the same company who delivered the Nexus S and for good reason.
Sony admitted to making mistakes with the X10 and using a Galaxy for a day, they become very clear and that is before you need to even consider modifications to the Galaxy. For the X10 it's impossible to get any quality from the device, without running a fully customized rom, kernel and apps... which I hope for the future Xperia devices is resolved but with device's like the Atrix and Galaxy 2 on the market at the same price, there isn't even a chance you could sway me towards another Xperia.
Play looks good for kid's, but if I wanted a PSX it's much cheaper to buy one, after all how many 10yr Old kids need smartphones?
Same applied when I bought a new camera and this time, it wasn't a Sony cybershot because Nikon & Canon have that one well covered. Sony & smartphones aren't even closely related in my opinion and trying to be a Jack of all trades has shown them as masters of none, at least for the X10, Arc, Neo, Play.. perhaps that's going to change with the Pro and I really hope they take their exceptional hardware skills and get up to speed with software in the future.
The design of Sony is fantastic. Hopefully the future sees them shine in Android.

I do think the 2.3.3 update will solve a lot of annoyances but yes, you'd probably still need some good custom ROMs to get anywhere near todays high-end smartphones. I agree with you on the sound quality. Where my Sony Ericsson W995 is still the phone with the most superior sound quality, it went downhill with the smartphones.
SE did present their new walkman smartphone the other day though, the W8. Although it's basicly a rebranded X8 this may be signs that SE doesn't wanna drop the Walkman line yet and that might be good for us in the future.
Atrix IMHO changes the game entirely. What I'd be looking at if I was Sony, is that concept with their lessons learned from the X10. They really have great looking hardware and I expected too much with the X10. Completely agree with Gingerbread and 2.3.3 upgrade, will go miles in improving the device.
The real issue isn't Android versions, it's the restrictions imposed by the bootloader. Lacking sources for the Framework and customer apps like Timescape etc, is something Samsung, Motorola and HTC all suffer from.
With recent developments, opening the boot loader web service and choosing to upgrade to 2.3.3, it may provide Sony an edge over Samsung, Motorola and HTC if they were bold enough to make such a move and release sources to core services, Framework, Contacts and Timescape, opposed to the plugin architechture.. actual sources!
Garmin / Asus make affordable Androids but to be honest in comparing software, Asus beats Rachel, provide sources for development and have faith, there are brilliant mind's with time and idea's that no amount of money can buy.
If anyone has an X10 or Arc they can part with, I need one as I never was able to complete some of the AOSP work I was doing and would be very happy to hear in a PM if this may be you

I've had the SGSII for about a week now after moving from a Nexus One running CM7, and wow I am impressed.
I know that in the grand scheme of things it's an incremental upgrade - the main reason I left it a while to move - however the SGII has in my view made a significant leap.
The main thing is that the UI is now as smooth and as refined as the iOS devices. I don't know what Samsung did that nobody else in the Android market has managed, but they've finally managed to make things as smooth as the iPhone.
I finally get that delicious feeling of having the UI elements "stick" to my finger as I move them around, rather than chase behind.
While we all know this is a superficial thing and adds little to the actual functionality, I believe this has finally closed the gap in terms of delight in using the device. I hate to use the sickening Apple term, but surely the average user will find just as much "magic" in using the SGSII as any iOS device.
Web browsing is now super smooth (hardware accelerated?) as are the home screens. Going back to my N1 I really feel the difference.
The SGSII is even more buttery smooth than my Asus Transformer running honeycomb.
Hopefully whatever Samsung have done, whether it be related to the chips in the phone or software tweaks, will be copied by all Android devices, and we can put the nagging sense of UI inferiority behind us (and I know the lack of smoothness bugged you no matter how hard you denied it).
Let's hope Android has put stuttering and lagging behind it forever. Well done Samsung.

I haven't used the HTC Sensation so I don't know if they too have achieved this, but this is based on my observations of the hardware at my disposal.
About the same as my view of the phone thats why i find it hard to understand the this is a crap phone posts can i have sense on it is their an IOS4 rom for it etc . A if i thought the phone was crap i would have returned it B if i wanted sense i would have bought sense phone .
But yes with Android customers have choice across a broad range of phones and that is why its winning the sales drive .

I find the IP4 laggy compared to the SGS2 . The i9100 is by far smoother in my opinion
I haven't used or seen a better smartphone. My sgs2 is borderline biblical!

While we all know this is a superficial thing and adds little to the actual functionality, I believe this has finally closed the gap in terms of delight in using the device. I hate to use the sickening Apple term, but surely the average user will find just as much "magic" in using the SGSII as any iOS device.
Web browsing is now super smooth (hardware accelerated?) as are the home screens. Going back to my N1 I really feel the difference.

samsung has hardware accelerated many parts of the UI. the web browser for example is hardware accelerated, as well as a few other places.
this is why i blast google. they should have been using hardware acceleration from day 1 to give the same smooth UI experience as the iphone. the SGS2 is not doing anything special, its not the dual core making it so smooth. its simply because samsung took the time to optimize the SGS2 with graphics chip, rather than putting the burden on the CPU 100% of the time.
the nexus one would be just as smooth. look at WP7 devices. they all use the same hardware as the n1, but use hardware acceleration and proper drivers, and are the smoothest devices in the world right now.
Well that was my point - How come it's taken so long, and a few generations of Android devices for this to be done? I honestly didn't think it was possible for an Android 2.3 device to be so smooth, I thought there was something fundamental in the architecture that was going to always mean a little lag.
I'd given up any of this generation of Android phones achieving true smooth motion, and here Samsung have done it without this development even being publicised that much.
I totally agree Android should have been like this - it just blows my mind that it's taken so long, and I can see no excuse for any top tier device from any other manufacturer not to match what Samsung have done.
Also, if it is just a case of tuning the software, why haven't/didn't Samsung do it with the SGS I ?
The "this is a crap phone" posts probably mostly come from people who don't own this. ...I know that might sound a little odd but trust me, even in Android communities there are fan-boys, and some actually go that far...

I went from a Nexus One to an iPhone 4, and then to this amazing device. All I have to say is that its been the best experience yet. I actually had lag on my iPhone 4... And very little to none on the SG2. I agree that most people bashing this phone probably don't even own one. I'll definitely be buying an SGS3. Goodbye HTC and to their ****ty voice/speaker quality and locked bootloaders. And hello Samsung.

Its hard to understand why people love this device soo much unless you actually ownit. This phone seems to give the feeling that android should have been this fluid from the beginning. There is no device (including the sensation) that operates as smoothly as the sgs2. I love this phone.

GS3! Wow...the rumours, are TOO GOOD. Anything Apple pull out of the bag, even next year would simple pale in comparison to the GS3.
Posts like these makes me anxious to get mine. Still waiting on UPS!
If Samsung did some hardware/driver acceleration magic, I wonder if CM7 and the other AOSP ROM project will be able to take advantage of this as well. I don't want the stock ROM to be the only super smooth and slick ROM available.

it hasnt taken too long. the original galaxy s also had hardware acceleration in the browser for example. only the international version, but it was lightening fast and smooth as butter. it only is because samsung took the initiative and did a custom job. google certainly hasnt implemented it yet, and in ice cream sandwich they claim it will come.
i'm right there with you, manufacturers should have been pushing for a UI experience that matches apple's.
since the op is sharing thoughts about the device, i'll share mine too. i FINALLY received it in the mail today. opened the box, the device is bigger than it looks in the online review (coming from a nexus s 4g). the thin factor is impressive, but not as impressive as i was expecting. the smoothness is there as expected, but the "S" boot image is freakishly laggy--no big deal.
camera-really good
screen-what can i say? super amoled plus looks great,
hardware finish/quality-pretty good...but i prefer the smooth back over the textured back--no big deal
touchwiz 4.0-hmm, this is tough, i need to play with it some more. samsung obviously put a lot to this UI, but so far it doesnt seem as refined as other skins...for example, the default lock screen is kind of laggy, and is a pain sometimes to fully move the lockscreen so that it unlocks. numerical battery percentage would be nice without having to go into settings...other than these minor gripes, i love the touchwiz widgets.
obviously samsung has really tried to outdo itself and competitors, and the sgs II is perhaps the best android phone out there. but as of right now, it doesn't really give me that "wow" factor despite all its features. but i've only had it for one day and haven't gotten to test out the dual core, dlna, and other features.
I mean... Given its age, its fairly responsive, the screen is big, albeit not 16m colors, the cam is very good, its been getting great signal for both voice and 3G, the battery life has been decent, and the media server app works flawlessly with my ps3...
I dont get it. Whats to hate? Its the cheapest big screen Android phone out there. Maybe I just like it because its holding me over until next gen hardware, or the next iteration of iPhone.

I agree, it's a great phone, especially after the 2.3 update. Is it the best? No. But it is very good for its age and it has been aging like a fine wine, just getting better and better.

The 2.3 update was I little flawed until Z brought out all the fixes. Now there is no need for an arc unless you want hdmi. X10i is still great. If mine broke today id buy another 1 since it seems to be the best android you can buy for the money

The display is not that great.. but the biggest(and one of the few) problems with the X10 is the crappy digitizer that it has.. one of the worst I've used

What is so crappy on the digitizer? Works fine here, with fps uncap almost iPhone like finger tracking.

Most consumer electronics have their 'make or break' window of opportunity during their launch period. That's when the marketing groups of the various companies start their advertising push and review units are sent out. If the reviews aren't good, people simply won't care about the product. Then as time goes on, no amount of additional advertising will prevent it from being forgotten about.
The X10 is a decent little smart phone. When it came out, it had some very competitive top-of-the-line features (1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 4" screen, good quality camera hardware, etc.). SE also touted its own UI and its custom applications (Timescape and Mediascape). Unfortunately, it was developed when Android 1.6 was around, and by the time it was released the competition was already moving forward with 2.1. The X10 simply could not compete when its software heart was a generation behind.
So most of the reviews tended to view the X10 as an average or mediocre smart phone. And with that, people didn't care about it.
But for those of us who thought the X10 had potential, I think we've all been rewarded for our faith. It's gone from a sluggish Android 1.6 device to a late but decent 2.1 workhorse and now to a winning 2.3 performer. Sony Ericsson listened to its customer base, and even though there were times it seemed like they would abandon the X10 and simply think of it as a 'learning experience,' they did the right thing and gave it just enough support to allow its former flagship to be sent off on a high note.
I bought my AT&T-branded X10a in the United States a few months after my girlfriend got the Sprint-branded HTC EVO 4G (HTC Supersonic elsewhere in the world). At the time, the EVO 4G got rave reviews and was considered by critics to be one of the very best. My X10 seemed to pale in comparison especially in performance. But with each SE update for the X10, things improved. Now with Android 2.3, the stock generic X10 build actually outperforms the latest stock Sprint-released HTC 2.3 update for the EVO 4G. For example, in Quadrant (if you care about such benchmarks) the X10 now consistently scores around the 1200 mark. Stock EVO 4Gs used to get scores like that when it was launched and when it ran 2.2 Froyo. But lately I've been reading a lot (and even tested my girlfriend's EVO to confirm) that the HTC 2.3 update has caused drops in benchmark performance where scores in the 900 to 1000 range are not uncommon.
The EVO 4G also has a 1GHz CPU, the Andreno 200 GPU, and a 8MP rear camera. I used to be jealous of its performance when I compared it to my X10. But now - with the exception of the EVO's 4G capabilities and front-facing camera - I think the X10 is better. We may not get multi-touch, or 16-million colors, or no FPS cap, but with our stock build, SE has given us useful features such as fully working and non-carrier-locked USB tethering and WiFi hotspot, streamlined custom user interface, and minimal bloatware. The phone may not be perfect, but given what the X10 is SE has, in essence, transformed the phone from an awkward ugly duckling to a capable graceful swan.
I look forward to using my X10 for quite a long time to come.
I must say that i have been really disappointed with my x10 since i bought it 15 months ago... The thing is that the phone has potential but SE fails to incorporate that in the generic rom (specifically fps uncap). Im currently using wolfbreak which makes the phone bearable and even enjoyable. My issue is that you have to "fix" the phone yourself. With the SE generic rom this phone is a piece of junk.

1. It gets confused with finger placement for no reason what so ever.
When moving from a dual to single touch.
2. The dual touch cross axis bug.
Why did the chicken cross the axis? to get to the inverted side.

Exactly i agree. The hardware/software and specially the design can compete most of the other smart phones out there, including stupid iphone4s. So ppl what is there to complain so much. With the GB update and all the tweaks around with custom ROMs its a better device than it was. Its far more better i should say. Lets take the maximum of this little baby b4 we move on to another device. So lets show the x10 some luv shall we

Exactly! The software side of SE is utter junk. Anyone that says anything else has no credibility when it comes to HCI. Myself having this as my major in grad school cry blood when i lay my hands on an x10 with the stock rom. Its actually sad that something being coded in a basement at home (god bless all these talented individuals) can outperform that of a multinational company.

NON of the so called basement roms has the stability of stock rom! I've tried PLENTY of costume builds, z's kernel, and the only 2 things i actually found usefull in the long run was fps uncap and JIT back on 2.1.. Sure many homebews may be snappier but they all suffer from fc's and memory bogging forcing you to reboot your phone every now and then to keep it snappy.. I NEVER had to reboot a stockrom.. I clean the junk out of app-wise and use fps uncap, thats it. And thats what works best.

That phone seems to be able to handle any OS your throw on it and do it well lol. Its a true super phone lol.

I really like this phone. Its not the best out there but for price its great. Probably the thing I like most is just how easy the Modding side is compared to Samsung galaxy's or HTC phones. My dad has a dhd and honestly, I prefer the x10. It just feels better to me
