Exchange server locks my device. How to stop - Droid Incredible General

Just setup my new DINC coming from a cracked TP2 and when I setup the mail the device locks as soon as the screen goes off...this is annoying
On the TP2 WM 6.5 there was a reg crack I used to remove the security restriction...I am not not knowledgeable of this platform. How can I remove the password lock? If not what options do I have I am tired of unlocking when the screens kills off every few seconds...
HELP???

Try lockpicker from the marketplace.

I used nolock from the market for a while. I like the one from klaus27 on this link better.

You have to root, install sqlite3, and install the app in the thread.
This app allows me to use the default HTC lock slider or pattern lock.

ppc wakes up to password screen

I know I have read this somewhere but can't remember where I read it but lately I have had this happen. I reach for my mogul to find it awaken and with a screen asking for a password. I never have set a password and leaving password blank doesn't work. I have to soft reset to get out of it. Don't know if this is a mogul bug, wm6 bug, or 3rd party app bug. I have slide2unlock 1.19 installed as well as the Grumps iPhone theme, and HTC Touch Today plugin. Other significant apps installed includes Voice Command 1.6, smartskey, and Live Search 2.0
Anybody know the cause?
Are you using Exchange activesync? If so, some Exchange providers will force a security policy on your phone that causes the password screen. There are ways to get around it with certain software (did it on my wife's 6800). Here is a thread about software that I used - http://discuss.treocentral.com/showthread.php?p=1337000
Anyone Come Up with a Good Solution Yet?
I bought my Mogul yesterday. Today I put X-Button, Grumps Iphone and Slide2Unlock. After waking up the phone, it requires me to enter a password (that I have never set anywhere. It sounds like the problem referrred to in this forum, but no one seems to have worked out a good solution.
I don't think I am using Exchange Activesync - just 4.5.
Anyone?
I had the same problem when I installed the Iphone theme, It would randomly ask me for a password and then I would have to soft reset to fix it, I just uninstalled the iphone theme since it wasnt that good anyway.
Ditched Slide2Unlock
I deleted Slide2Unlock because when the phone sleeps after 2 min. I don't need a lock. But I kept the iPhone theme to see how that goes...
What's your opinion of Spb Shell that also has big buttons. That's what I need, instead of trying to use my fingernail on the Today screen. Think HTC is really going to release Touchflo for the Mogul?
BB
Same problem here. Is the slide to unlock program cause the problem?
i doubt it, ive been using s2u since i got my mogul and never had this issue
under Settings - Lock there is an option to enable/disable password prompt, the GUI doesnt let you enable password prompt without setting a password, but if an app changed the setting in the registry it might cause the issue
same issue here. i checked all the reg keys from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317107 so it's not the exchange policies. i have grump's iphone theme without slide 2 unlock installed.

password screen in htc touch

hi ,
I have an HTC Touch sync with exchange 2007.
the default settings pop up the password screen each 15 min .
does anybody know any "screenpaper" soft that may change skin this password screen? it's possible with spb shell ,but as I don't like it , it's 11 mb just for a password screen .
Any idea? S2U2 doesn't work , dockware neither
many thanks
good luck getting help. I posted this question a while ago with no answers. the only thing i have found is to totally get rid of it with a reg edit. try searching google for it if your interested. this will get rid of it and if your company doesnt enforce there policys of the password protection it will let you change it. if they do the next day it will reset and you will have to do it again or bribe your IT department to change your security settings. as far as skining it I dont think it is possible or if it is you will probably have to make a program to run over it. hope this helps.

BlackBerry Connect IT Policy?

I use BlackBerry Connect 4.0.0.103 on my HTC Kaiser running WM6.1. It works fine, however I would prefer Exchange ActiveSync. The IT policy that has been defined by our IT dept enforces a complex password policy. This means the default WM6 'Lock' is replaced by the BlackBerry Security one and must be a combination of letters and numbers and cannot be disabled. By default it is set to 10-minutes of inactivity, however this isn't enforced and you can reset this to up to 60-minutes however it cannot be disabled as the 'Password Enabled' checkbox is checked and greyed our. This is a real pain, plus when the policy refreshes itself it resets to 10-minutes. If you are driving with it in a cradle there is no way the password can be entered. With the previous WM6 lock a simpler 4-digit PIN could be used.
I have read the various posts on stopping the 'BlackBerrySecurity(BBD0)' Service to disable this however it doesn't work with this version of BBC (and probably the latest version as well?). Yes it stops the service, but after a period of time (probably the inactivity time?) it puts the device into a state that cannot be 'woken up' - power button doesn't work, incoming phonecalls or SMS do not wake it. All you can do is soft reset it, which makes this supposed workaround unusable.
I have searched high and low and cannot find a way around this annoying 'corporate lock'. I am grasping at straws here but was hoping someone has worked out how to disable or reset this policy? I have read posts on how to remove the IT policy from 'real' BlackBerry devices but none for the WM version of BlackBerry Connect.
Any help is appreciated. And before anyone asks why, asking the IT dept to disable this isn't an option.
Andy
Andy, you have my complete sympathy - I have the same issue. I use Memmaid which can disable this. However, on every soft reset you need to go into Memmaid every time. I have this programme coming up on start-up but I would prefer to be able to do a soft reset on my phone without having to go into Memmaid always....
Does anyone else know how to do this?

Hi Paul,
Do you not also get the 'sleep-of-death' behaviour after you stop the BlackBerry Security service? I could live with disabling the service after a soft-reset as I don't reset it very often. However I also get the 'sleep-of-death' where there is no way of waking the device up after a period of inactivity - only option is a soft-reset.
I am just hoping our IT dept see sense and enable Exchange ActiveSync in the near future....

Hi Andy,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I have been trying wwwes' mortscript and have not had any luck yet.
With regard to your question, there is no "sleep-of-death" behaviour after stopping the Blackberry Security Service. There are no after effects at all. If you don't mind having to input your password and then disabling the Blackberry Security Service in MemMaid after soft resetting, then this will definitely work fine for you. You can set your phone up to automatically start MemMaid following a soft reset. You do this by putting a shortcut to MemMaid in your startup folder in the Windows directory. You can even make sure MemMaid starts on the same screen as last visitted by going into advanced tools within the MemMaid programme, so you will only need to tap on the green button next to "Blackberry Security" and then exit MemMaid.... Quite easy, but as soft resetting is such a good thing to clear ram and make programs run quicker/smoother, I want this to be without having to wait 1 minute & then having to do all this faffing about.... I'll post back if wwwes gets back to me with my query on the Mortscript method.

This isn't how my Kaiser behaves, it may have something to do with the version or even the security policy. If I stop the BlackBerry Security Service I always get this 'sleep-of-death' behaviour. I have tested it many times and it is always the same. It is really annoying......
Ah well, apparently our IT dept has realised ActiveSync exists and are testing it at the moment so I might get my wish at some point in the near future...

Hi Andy,
I wonder - are you stopping the Blackberry Security or deleting it? If you delete it then it will crash on you. Have you tried MemMaid and just stopped the application? I am still trying to get this Mortscript to work, but still no success. I think this would be the answer to our problem because it doesn't interfere with the IT policy.

Look, believe me I know what I am doing......
I am using DotFred's Task Manager. I open the 'Services' tab, select the 'BlackBerrySecurity(BBDO: )' service and select 'Stop'. This then stops the annoying lock/password screen every 10-minutes. However if the phone goes to sleep for more than 10-minutes you can't wake it back up, all you can do is soft reset it. It doesn't ring, none of the buttons respond - it's in a 'sleep of death' as I described it initially. The only indication it is still alive is the GSM LED flashes.
I am just living with it at the moment and waiting for Exchange ActiveSync to be enabled for my account.

Bad luck. Sounds like a complete pain in the butt. I couldn't live with having to unlock it every 10 minutes. Chase your IT department up!
Andy,
I have managed to (partly) get the mortscript thing to work. I have got it working so that I do not need to disable the Blackberry security after a soft reset. In fact it is running all the time. The mortscript works nearly in an instant, so won't interrupt you in any way. In any event, it only operates when you are not using it by default!
See this link for details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3712096#post3712096
I hope you can get this working fully on yours..... I can't seem to get it to remove the need for inputting the first password immediately following a soft reset. However, it does work at other times. I am still trying, but am a complete newbie to Mortscript.
Good luck.

How to disable HTC Sense on HD2?

Can anybody help me to do this to have regular wm interface on my HD2?
Thank you,
Igor
Start -> Settings -> Right Softkey -> More.. -> Today -> Items
Many thanks!
If the usual Settings aren't reachable, in the settings tab of Sense rechter Softkey und dann More.
I need to completely disable Sense without flashing new ROM (I plan to flash custom ROM in 2-3 months, but not now), especially the phone app. I'm using Inesoft Address Book and sometimes it doesn't start and I'm forced to use the default installed crap . It's lovely during the call when you are in hurry and an application you know nothing about is waiting for your commands.
I have the 1.66 WWE stock ROM.
Need to completely disable HD2 user interface
Similar problem. I have the stock HD2 and I would prefer having the WM 6.5 user interface.
Let me clarify, I want the whole HTC HD2 user interface reverted back to WM 6.5 and not only the Today's Screen.
Is that even possible without getting a new ROM.
I have very little experience and time and don't feel comfortable playing around with flashing the ROM and radio.
Thanks in advance.
in the same menu where you uncheck HTC Sense
scroll up and enable Windows Default and soft reset
it uses the default windows applications which i find to actually be quite usable and much faster
Is there a default WM6.5 messaging program? I disabled Sense, but it still uses the HTC Messages program for my texts.
ace07 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556614
As always, there is a catch.
Thanks. This is very helpful. Sense does not set messages as read and causes many extra clicks to get to the right place...
Switch to windows default, the lesser evil one between Sense and Windows.

a soft key refers to the bottom of the screen, there are typically 2-3 "buttons..."
let me explain differently, don't look for a physical button, just look in the bottom right corner of your screen, you'll see the word MORE (once in settings) click it, you've just hit a "soft key"
I have a kumar ROM, I can't find where to disable sense. I need to disable to install the new messaging client. Anyone know where I can find it? It's not in the all settings section.
This is single handedly the best thing I have done to my HD2. This phone has come alive! Thanks for the how-to!
HD2 unresponsive screen want sense removed but how?
Hello all!
Hopefully, I am asking this question at the right place...
I sort of stumbled upon an apparently new (i.e. in excellent condition, no scratches, etc, almost like new) HD2 which will boot but brings me to a non responding touch screen. The hard keys work, I can even receive a phone call BUT I cannot use the touch screen which is unresponsive. Someone at work that I asked told me he just does not have the time to spend trying to fix it for me (even for a fee) but supposedly it is the HTC Sense feature that messes things up. He adviced me to remove sense and try the old fashioned windows look.
I want to try to remove sense but how can I do that when the screen does not work? The phone is recognized and syncs fine when I connect it to my PC using Windows Mobile Device Center. Is there a utility that will allow me from inside my PC's windows to disable "sense" on the HD2?
By reading this thread, it appears that the HD2 works better without it anyway! (and quite frankly I have no idea what sense is or what it is for, some kind of UI maybe?)
Thank you.
if it's software related then do hard reset or flash another ROM
