With root achieved, is it now possible to activate the 720p HD recording quality that Sony is giving in their Q3/Q4 update or does that require the unlocking of the bootloader as well?
I am not an expert. but HD video recording is available only with android os 2.1 or 2.2(i am not sure) so until we can install froyo on x10, we cant do HD recording.

On the original releases of the legend build for hero the camera app gave you the option to record in wvga video capture. The video capture failed and only the sound remained. With tweaking could this be put on the more able overclocked roms and made to work.

Hmm. I'm not sure what you mean by WVGA. Do you mean xxx by 480? As I don't remember any ROM working with this.
I think 352x288 is the limit, likely for a good reason
Our hero has to compress the video on the CPU while recording. More than anything CIF or alike is really the limit to get watchable video.
The legend isn't really that much higher in CPU power (cpu's are comparible), but it has enhanced video support for encoding video on the SoC, which is most likely used in the camera app.
That also explains why we get no video at all in the hero without changing anything, it tries to use a library / hardware chip that isn't there.
slightly off the main point, but is there a way of gaining better audio quality out of the vidoes? i really despise muffled 'amr' quality sound that the hero has. or am i missing something?
Hello, is it possible to record videos in HD format (1280x720) with coocked rom or program?
as far as i know, the hardware of our camera is incapable to do so
dont think so. our s200's video recording really sux..
and photos too
It's been a while since this has been brought up, but I was wondering if there has been any current development regarding 720p recording within Android.
It was announced a few months ago that it was possible but never implemented into any builds.
I would take the buggiest build if the only working feature on it was 720p recording.
So has 720p recording been set on the back-burner until more important features are stabilized?
id think so, and also hardware limitations is a big factor as well... can the Leo's camera even capable of recording 720p video?
Yes it is. And if I'm not wrong informed I think the devs are working on it. But at the moment it is secondary. They first want to finish NAND. I guess it will be implemented then.
I had this idea forming in my head and wondering if this could be possible:
could 720p video recording issues could mitigated by these new super ram builds (running both the OS and HD video recording app in the memory for faster performance and better video quality)?
Hello All,
Can you answer my few queries. The camera of the phone is said to record 4k video and 1080 videos @60fps but the phone is only capable of recording 1080p @30fps. Since the note 3 with same specs can record 4k videos is it possible via software upgrade or something like that to make our camera record 4k videos.
Can Kernel source itself is enough as the base for custom rom development.??

The camera makers said that the camera is capable of capturing 4K videos but the Elife e7 cannot capture because the company hasn't provided that matching software which does it. May be that is for the future updates or flagship devices. The max you can record is 1080p at 60fps.

what do u mean by matching software it has got all the libs required foolish gionee ppl and provided libs for several omnivision sensor libs to our device..how can u record 1080p @ 60fps its 30fps only...4k is not possible till now as it uses the android camera api which has maximum of 1080p recording capabilities note3 and xperia z2 have their own api for this so they can record 4k videos
