I've installed CyanogenMod 7 on my HD2 but having trouble
to get an app menu key. I thought it would be the windows key
but it just exits the application to the main menu.
For example in contacts - I need to press the menu key to see the application
menu - without the menu button it is not much use.
I tried to remap the keys but the only key that I can use would be the back key.
But this would mean i loose the back key which is not desirable too.
I'm not sure if I miss anything but appreciate if anybody could point me into the right direction.
thanks
HJ
It is the Windows key.

does your Windows key work properly under WM? if so, and if in Android you get exit after pressing the windows (central) key, sth is wrong with your build, maybe consider either updating or switching to other,
as temporary solution enable Tablet Tweaks in Settings / CM settings (it should be there), it'll give you an option to have virtual home, menu and back keys on status bar
I had no problems under WM. I'm running the ThphooN_v3.3.8MAGLDR upgrading from the 3.3 version. I already had that problem in the 3.3 version.
That tablet tweak as mention is not available but would be a great workaround.
thanks
u can use button savior (from market) to replace the hardware keys ...it might be helpful
I've installed Button Savior - great it gives me the work around.
Not sure if I should install a different built seems to be a single device problem if nobody else reported this.
My HD2 is an O2 version.
thanks anyway I can survive

Did you ever work out how to get the menu/windows button working in the Thphoon build? I'm having the same issue, windows button working correctly in WM6.5 but not in Android 2.3.7

Have you tried button saviour as suggested? I never had these issues when I was using Typhoon though.
Hi ,
Any news regarding the home button lag ?
I don't mean the wake up lag, which is annoying too but it's hardware issue.
I mean the home button lag, which means any program I running, and pressing the home button, it takes something like 1-2 seconds to return to home screen !!
I know this issue has been raised 1000 times (!!!) and that is the exact reason I am talking about this, it's annoying so many people, so how could it happen that it hasn't been resolved yet ?!
This is 100% software issue , CM7 for example doesn't have that. But I don't want to use CM7 ....
I also have it and it drives me crazy.
Disable voice2go and the other parts of the samsung TTS thing, use titanium backup or something, you will need to be rooted.
As when you press the home button it is waiting to see if you are going to double press it to activate the voice control.

Did that, it doesn't help mate.
Oliwe has figured out a solution that requires some dev expertise:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227479&highlight=home+lag
I tried it myself and failed, but I'm sure ROM cookers will start implementing this ASAP.
Still a non issue
I am yet to receive my SGN (Friday fingers crossed) but I am not a fan of the 'iPhone style' interface ofTouch Wiz... I will definitely be installing Launcher Pro or GoLauncher but will the S-Pen still work on the home screen (gestures etc) I am not too bothered about the widgets as long as I can get access to notes via a double tap and navigate the screens with the pen
The pen works with everything and the samsung widgets can be used in other launchers...
Im using and testing out LP at the moment and it seems to work fine.

ADW and Go Launcher = laggy on the Note

does anyone have a clue how the s-pen works?
How is the feature with the button realised etc???
I would like to hack any other stylus with this button feature.
or does anybody know if i could use a wocom stylus together with the Note.
Any hint is welcome.

Check out my thread on the subject:

And please let us know if you find anything new!
Hello,
I am pretty new to this FirefoxOS but I think I know a lot about Android.
Today I found a official build of FirefoxOS for Huawei Y300-II or Y300-F1 I'm not sure. I flashed it on my Huawei Ascend Y300 (old one with android) and it worked flawlessly untill I found that only Home button works.
And I would like to make atleast my Back button work. I was alto thinking - when I extract System.img it has some files same as android and one of them is /usr/keylaout/generic.kl. I compared those two files and they seem to be pretty same.
So will FirefoxOS ever have support for 3 buttons phones? Is there already a 3button phone from where I could try to port support for it?
And also what files are used to control sound? Because it doesnt work either.
Thanks and sorry for my english.
FXOS does not use any other buttons than home. Apps should be written in a way that you dont need any, much like IOS.

Correct me if I am wrong.
Isn't possible to "bind" this taskmanager (long home press) to maybe menu button?

Min 1:16. The menu button works
Hi,
I was hoping that by updating my Galaxy S4 to Lilipop, it would get the same hardware-button behaviour that the galaxy S5 has, especially when starting the taskmanager: on the S5, you only need to click the menu button once to get it, but on the S4, you always need to long-click the home-button, which is sooooo anoying Is there any way to change this, for example using another launcher? I'd prefer doing it without root.
Shouldn't this be a Touchwiz-setting?

You can use another launcher to do it. Problem is that it will only work when you are on the home screen.

I have only seen one rom that has the "One tap menu to recents" feature. The rom is Danvdh's GPE rom. It has the option you're looking for.
Other roms only have the option to bind short-press and long-press to the menu button.
Another option is to use On-Screen buttons. But this will reduce the display area of your screen.
