I was fully rooted and then brought my evo back to factory stock. I don't have the newest update but now my screen has a life of it's own. I have to turn the screen off to regain the touch screen... Anyone else having this issue?

I was watching a video on youtube today (not sure its relevant) when I went to the home screen my whole screen began to flicker and all the items randomly shifted to different places continually. I shut down the phone turned it back on and even at the boot screen it was still continuing I continued to a restart and it fixed the screen back to normal. Has anyone else experienced this issue. Could it be the video chip for the phone going out or just a bug? I am running the latest version of themed iced glacier

Anyone else experience screen blackouts on the desire hd the screen just darkens and starts to grey out and fade till it is all black
in this state when it starts top fade then turning black it is unresponsive to touch.
Presing the power button twice to turned the screen off and on fixes it temporarily till the next time it happens
Not sure if it it's hardware our software related. happened 6 times.this morning.since flashing leedroids latest. Didn't happen before that. Only once in a while on few older roms

I get this on CM7 on boot. So I guess a kernel issue... (but it was there with .32 kernel too).

I started getting this on my HD using CM7.0. Usually after a call. The screen stays blank as if the prox sensor stopped working. Sometimes messing with top button resolves it but often only removing battery fixes it.

I had flashed a rom and then decided to go back to the rooted 2.2.1. After a while I started to have issues where the screen wouldn't come on from wake. After a battery pull and a reboot same thing. Then the screen would not come on at all. The phone boots and the hard buttons light up as well as the led. Anyone else have a similar situation? Is it bricked or is it possible to fix?

I have had the same problem although my screen works again when I pull the battery and restart. I am a little concerned If this has anything to do with the chip failures being discussed in the general forum.

Id get it replaced. Sounds defective.
It's bricked... get an RMA asap.
I have an s3 but decided to sbf back to stock to root and ROM etc.
I completely forgot I have to activate my phone before I use it on stock and I obviously can't because switching back from a 3g phone to a 4g is a pain.
Is there anyway to bypass this screen or at least get a recovery on this thing without activating?

I just got a Droid X for dirt cheap and ran into this same problem. After some googling, I found if you press the 4 corners of the touch screen it will unlock. Weird, I know but it worked for me.

Hey guys, my N4 has all of a sudden stopped working correctly. My display doesn't register touch going horizontally across the middle of the screen. Especially where you adjust the brightness and sound. It really sucks and a factory reset doesn't help. Anybody heard of this? Any help offered? For what its worth, I'm unrooted with an unlocked boot loader.
