Here is the current Leo Linux Port Status Page: http://www.htc-linux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Leo/Status
All the latest zimages with the latest features can be found here: http://cotulla.pp.ru/leo/Android/
The builds are as follows:
NOTE: All current builds (with the latest zimage) support GSM, Calling, Data, HW3D, Sound, G-sensor, Compass, Proximity Sensor, Battery status, Backlight, Partial charging support, Headset, Bluetooth, WIFI, FM Radio (with appropriate App) and Camera.
Nexus One Based Android 2.1 by Cotulla and Parad0XUA, working silky smooth with HW3D, sound, GSM, 3G, Data, Wifi and Bluetooth now working (for new features use latest zimage).
Calls both incoming and outgoing work, texting works fine.
HW3D, sound, GSM, 3G, Data, Wifi and Bluetooth now working in this build!
Data is problamatic as some large packets cannot be sent or recieved so Data is cosidered only half working at the moment, However you can get to Google!
Here is the link:http://cotulla.pp.ru/leo/Cotulla_LEO_Android21_HW3D_BT_WLAN_DATA.rar
Thanks goes to Cotulla for making this build so functional and getting a lot of our drivers working.
Android 2.1 with Desire's Sense UI, it is working smoothly as can be for the moment and without any bsod for the most part! It is not completely bug free but is pretty stable, (for new features use latest zimage).
Calls both incoming and outgoing work, texting works fine.
HW3D, sound, GSM and Data are now working in this build!
Data is problamatic as some large packets cannot be sent or recieved so Data is cosidered only half working at the moment, However you can get to Google!
Current Version HTC Sense (HTC Desire base rom) v5 which makes sense very smooth and has HW3D and sound aswell as Data, WIFI, Bluetooth, Camera and GSM support.
On Darkstone's mirror (New Desire based Beta Build available): http://gamesquare.co.uk/desire.html
Thanks to Darkstone and the HTC-Linux devs for making this possible.
Here is a video review by Pocketnow.com of the Desire V5 ROM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyglmQmv3uU
Here is an old video of Sense build V3.5 being used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbspZtrA6p0&
OLD BUILDS:
Android 2.1 with stock android interface. Based on XDANDROID. Has GSM is working although no data and mic and speaker don't work so calling is not really usable. It's also pretty stable.
Here is the link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z2KYV9OF
Thanks to dan1j3l amd the HTC-Linux devs for making this possible.
There is also a build based on a Nexus One image which has working g-sensor, compass, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor over at http://gamesquare.co.uk/, please also check there for the latest builds as they come.
Once again thanks to all the devs on the project. I will try to update this page as often as possible with new builds as they come so please be patient, AND DO NOT SPAM THE HTC-LINUX CHANNEL!
Note: Here is something everyone considering an iPhone 4, or anyone who hates it should see!
I've just been to the O2 shop to see what all the fuss is about the iPhone 4's screen and apart from it's size I noticed a major floor that all 4 iPhone 4's had in the shop. Their screens had marks on them that looked like burns or pressure marks. Seeing that really made me very happy as not only do I have a bigger screen, I have a better one on my HD2, anyone wanting to look at what I mean look here: http://s872.photobucket.com/albums/ab289/microang/iPhone 4 Bad Screen/

The new video should be up before Saturday, Just got home from the beach, and still have alot of other videos to work with. If yall are fine with iPhone 3GS video then I'll make one soon. If not, then just give me couple days, maybe by then, we'll have a better kernal and Android Build.
FYI I would put a big disclaimer that there are still alpha quality. Some people have had to hard reset to get winmo back the way it was -- though tbh I'm not sure what builds they were running.
It's not that winmo didn't work, it just had some strange functionality afterwards.

I've been lurking here on and off over the past couple weeks trying to figure out whether or not I'm comfortable flashing my Hero to some build of 2.1 . I think I'm ready to take the plunge but want to make sure I've got a functional device on the other end of this. I know the Dev's here have put in a ton of work on many different builds (hence my confusion) and I would appreciate some guidance on what to look for to make sure I'm getting both an
Rom with Eclair for this phone
and
working CDMA radios
The other features of the phone that are important to me are the Google apps (maps, I want the GoogleNav) and therefore GPS
I haven't seen any direct discussion of the new Google sat Nav updates that came out with 2.0 as something that I'll be able to get or not.
Thanks for any help on this topic. Sorry if I'm kind of all over the place here but have been trying to dig up this information here on my own but keep getting confused with jargon I don't always understand. (I'm pretty computer savvy but don't have much knowledge of programming or Linux, so I'm in over my head here)
If you have any specific recommendations for the most bleeding edge builds that fit my criteria I'm game but I appreciate any guidance at all here. Thanks!
Just incase you haven't seen them yet check the stick wiki for roms at the top of the front page for CDMA hero.
Now, the google nav update, are you talking about the turn by turn? That works in 1.6 and up and I can confirm it works on 2.1.
As far as I know everything except BT, multitouch, and visual voicemail works in FLipz 2.1.
Hope this helped.
The only 2.1 CDMA Hero ROM is this one. Which GPS works, so therefore, GMaps w/ nav should work.
Sorry, Double post
afaik AGPS only in 2.1, not real GPS.

Please don't attempt to update the radio. There are no updates for the CDMA Hero and flashing any will result in a bricked phone.

I can't say for sure, but if you spoof the build fingerprint (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=625661) it should work. I know it does on 1.6 at least.
Hey guys.
I'm a little confused about Android on the HD2. I've done a little research, but haven't found full answers, could someone clear this up for me a little bit? Sorry to sound like a idiot, I'm just getting in to ROM's and stuff.
1. Is there a FULLY Working Android ROM, with no lag etc. for the HD2, If so, what version is it? If not, what's missing, and will it effect usage majorly?
2. Do you have to ROOT it first, or just use a Bootloader, as I only really know about Rooting on Android, and is it easy to ROOT A HD2?
3. If I do put Android on there, is it easy to revert back to Windows mobile, and if I keep changing the ROM, will it damage the phone?
I'll be getting one on T-Mobile UK If that helps.
Thanks to anyone who can help

there are many threads with guide and faq... however:
1. there is 90% "working" android rom... you can check it out the builds, i use darkstone HD2Froyo_V2.1 and I like it... on top of rom topics chef explains what works and what doesn't work.
2. just use a Bootloader, rom is already rooted
3. you don't delete winmo, android starts on sdcard after winmo starts (haret.exe). you don't need to flash any.
sorry for my english
try to read faq & guide threads for instructions

Oh okay, so its sort of like Dual-booting then? And is there a guide for using the Bootloader etc?
And, if I just removed the SD Card, would it boot in to Winmo? And are people still making Android ROM's for the HD2?
Thanks
Your phone will automatically boot into windows whenever you reboot your phone unless you have a dualboot program installed and then you get asked the option.
i've been running the darkstone HD2Froyo_V2.1 android rom also and i like it too, although i still primarily run my HD2 in windows and just goto android for some of the apps and have a look about in the market etc...
Its an awesome feature and has made the HD2 which i already loved, just plain awesome...
So this ROM that you're both talking about, does it have calls, texts etc? Anyone got a list of what works and what doesn't?
Also, how hard is the Dual boot program to install?
The dual boot program is a .cab, so its retarded easy to install.
Yes, calls and texting work. But you'll get a robot voice unless you flash your WM to a cooked rom.
I'm also using darkstone's froyo w/ sense. Its the only version that has proven to provide me with consistent stability, and I currently use it as my primary o/s. Granted its not as smooth as mattc leo 1.6, it has yet to give me a SOD or lock up on me. The battery drain was too rediculous for me at first, but I flashed my radio to 1.11 and it's been great ever since.
Minor drawbacks: screen will lag from time to time (small 3 second freeze, easily fixed by lock/unlock), 3 mp camera is a bit of a set back, and the Facebook integration is limited to the people you've only recently become friends with v/s your old friends.
For me, these are minor set backs. I came from an iPhone, so WM felt limited in some areas that Android has let me feel free in again! (Both great os's though)
You're going to have to play around with it to get the best personal results.
Check out some of the threads talking about different combinations.
Good Luck!
I was going to to grab the spoon.
But it seems that everyone has done it for me. Take a look around.

Wow, thanks for all your help. Do you know if there are several guides for all these? I'm not to experienced with all these :/
There's literally a *how to* guide stickied on the android forum. Don't get how all these noobs keep missing that. It literally tells you everything step by step... Like seriously...
i ve watched the froyostone thread get raped by these one liner replies its almost 300 pages and about 80% of it is " great build thanks!!!!!"
its kinda getting out of hand
and makes it very hard to find anything there or even follow the progress.
if cooks can please make a pool for their build threads
giving options like:
1works great no problems
2wifi doesnt work
3mms doesnt work
4standby freezes
5lagging
etc...
and enable multiple selection
that way we can eliminate many of the useless replies and actually see the progress of what works and what doesnt.
Good idea but the problem is that we do not have a single base that we can compare off the features....
(1) Many WM builds out there with Android compatibility which affects Radio big time
(2) Many Linux kernels and builds also out there
(3) Many Radios and very subjective in use...some works for some and some dont
and so on....
This would be really helpful once we have Android working off NAND....
I have recently put on my phone Pdaimatejam 7.3 and everything seems to work fine except one thing, I can't get my phone activated to use the windows live things. I am a huge noob when it comes to this stuff so the answer may be obvious but I have no idea so any help will be very appreciated.
Hello!
Isn't any wp7 Rom at this moment that allows you live services! Even if it is called full unlocked... So ... You have to activate your service at Microsoft... It's not a big deal... Or just use Xap market, is already on your IE favourites!
Cheers!

Yes, there has been THREE updates, but I just see that as being responsive to peoples requests and fixing issues.
For me, it has been extremely more stable then the current version of Ultrafruit, and I haven't had too many problems. I use it heavily as a daily phone without any problems. And as the OP asked, Live services are running great. I was not able to download Live games on Ultrafruit.

Easiest way is to request an activation code via chat function on Microsoft page. Worked for me in UK, I told them phone was an HD7.
There are plenty of threads in this forum on how to do this, a quick search will reveal all the answers you need.. Good luck

Bug is bug, is matter more or less and can it be Daily used?
no more bug in Pdaimatejam rom than in a 'official' release from htc in his WP7 phone !!
when i read his posts, i think W.P.7 is against any change !!
so he must stay with is old WM6 ^^
any one else having problems with the proximity sensor during phone calls?
I make the call, place the phone next to my face, it turns off the screen then its right back on and i end up hanging up or the speaker phone comes on and it loud as all hell...
Using

because i'm new user & i don't have 10 posts & that make me isn't able to report those bugs to the original thread i'm writing this new thread
try to use test call on nimbuzz while making a phone call for several times & you will find that the phone will lose it's audio (phone calls,ring..etc) & try to use bluetooth headset while using skype or any voip & you will lose that too
