[REQ] video and music player from Galaxy S - Desire Themes and Apps

jimbob343 posted all the Galaxy S .apk's, i tried to install the video player but with no luck.
can anyone port it to HTC Desire?
The akp's http ://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712594
Thanks.

In addition to the player apk, one would probablly also need the codec lib files.

Any update on this?

As shown in the original download thread, none of these APKs actually install, since they are apparently still odexed. Hopefully we will see someone unbind them for use on other phones.
My friend got the Captivate on Sunday and I am really impressed with the music player. It would be great to see it on my Droid!

youtube/windows media problem.

I have a at&t pure and I installed the wvga htc youtube app. The app worked great but the problem is that when I install this app it messes up my media player. I get this message " the source filter for this file could not be loaded". This happens when i try and play video on media player when youtube app is installed. What can I do about this? Im running the pure original from at&t, original rom.
You really don't want to know how many pages with a solution I get when I search on "the source filter for this file could not be loaded" with Google...
Try urself and you will see... Don't open new threads for things you can find by searching...
I have searched and looked through many threads on that message. I tried some cab files that was for the x1 that was having similar problem, no luck. If anyone has tried the htc youtube app on the pure and got it to work, without it stopping windows media player's video playback let me know how. Really like this youtube player but dont want to give up mp4 playback on media player.
I have both working.
You may want to get off the stock ROM and try a custom one with Youtube cooked in.
yeah was thinking i might have to do that. wanted to avoid that though, never did a rom before and I just got the phone. Dont want to screw it up just yet.lol
i have found more threads with other people having this problem but no fix. can anyone help?the htc youtube app is sooo much better than other options would like to have it installed.
Why not try a media player that supports YouTube like Coreplayer?
i have and they all suck compared to the htc app

change dlna default player ??

Hi,
I have just get my galaxy S. Very good android phone due to xda improvments like root and lag fix.
The dlna works vefy fine but I get some issues with mkv files.
I don't understand why the galaxy S can't play these files ? A look to his specs show that it can do that..
OS I'm wondering if there is a way to replace the defaul media player launch in dlna or any pther ways to improve the galaxy S cabalities for reading mkv files ??
Thanks..

how to watch avi files after ROM mod

so after i Modded my MT4G with the royal ginger i was wondering how i can play some AVi files i have on my Sd card. when i try to play it it says that its not suported.. any idea or what i have to DL? i tried to install VLC also but that didnt work.. not sure what i am doing wrong.
thanks in advance
Have you try moboplayer from the market? It works perfectly fine on my phone.
I use arcmedia for all my avi files, works great
mobo worked great.. arc didnt work.. i hear sound but no video..
thanks guys..
I wish AOSP or other skins like Sense would implement the same video codecs that are in Samsung's TouchWiz... My gf's Captivate plays any video file flawlessly such as divx/avi.
Hopefully one day Google does the same...

[Q] Video Preview Widget?

Does anybody know of a widget available that would show the videos I have in a scroll-able stack? I think Netflix does this with the streaming movies (not positive), but I'd like to be able to browse through my video files from the launcher. I'm assuming if this widget existed it would come as part of a video player. Thanks.
Mizzu is awesome.

Looks perfect! Thanks. I browsed a bunch of video players on the Market, but never noticed that one.

All share

Is there away to side load all share with the Galaxy tab 10.1? I use this for my sgs2 and ps3 and would like to use the same product on my tab.

Latest european 3G firmware has the AllShare app. The AllShare apk is posted in this thread somewhere http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262343
No idea if it will work, but give it a try.

Hey, thanks for pointing this out. I have been looking for a DLNA client for ages now -- really missed AllShare.
I hope it works on my INU firmware though :-/
PS: The apk is in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17602427&postcount=48
Not working well. Photos are OK on your tab. Flac files dont work. If you want to stream a movie on your tab program crashes. Since it crashes at tah point I wasnt able to stream anything from my PC to my Samsung TV using the tab. But it sees all my servers right away... then not working.
It's worth trying Skifta, although it can use battery a bit quickly if left running.

Aww... anybody using AllShare on the firmware it officially came with? Maybe for some reason it doesn't work properly with other firmware.
I've just tried the Allshare app on my standard UK WiFi Tab, I've only tried streaming a standard avi file and it works fine for me.

I tried it and it worked just fine. It's very fast and smooth moving in folders and scrolling movie lists. Played every file i tried.
Maybe it has something to do with the firmware or stock video player. I noticed that the built in video player plays streams (from web) that it didn't play on previous firmware.

Gave it a try on my INU firmware -- it plays MP3s fine. However if i try to play any videos, it force closes (if i have installed it as a normal app). If i install it as a system app, it doesnt force close but gives a 'unsupported file format' error.
Can someone please post the VideoPlayer.apk from the working ROM please? Also, DivX.apk (just in case its needed too).

I have not rooted my tab, so unfortunately i can't help with the apk's. Try to ask in the ROM thread where the AllShare apk was posted, i believe someone surely can post the apk's.
