Is there away to side load all share with the Galaxy tab 10.1? I use this for my sgs2 and ps3 and would like to use the same product on my tab.

Latest european 3G firmware has the AllShare app. The AllShare apk is posted in this thread somewhere http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1262343
No idea if it will work, but give it a try.

Hey, thanks for pointing this out. I have been looking for a DLNA client for ages now -- really missed AllShare.
I hope it works on my INU firmware though :-/
PS: The apk is in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17602427&postcount=48
Not working well. Photos are OK on your tab. Flac files dont work. If you want to stream a movie on your tab program crashes. Since it crashes at tah point I wasnt able to stream anything from my PC to my Samsung TV using the tab. But it sees all my servers right away... then not working.
It's worth trying Skifta, although it can use battery a bit quickly if left running.

Aww... anybody using AllShare on the firmware it officially came with? Maybe for some reason it doesn't work properly with other firmware.
I've just tried the Allshare app on my standard UK WiFi Tab, I've only tried streaming a standard avi file and it works fine for me.

I tried it and it worked just fine. It's very fast and smooth moving in folders and scrolling movie lists. Played every file i tried.
Maybe it has something to do with the firmware or stock video player. I noticed that the built in video player plays streams (from web) that it didn't play on previous firmware.

Gave it a try on my INU firmware -- it plays MP3s fine. However if i try to play any videos, it force closes (if i have installed it as a normal app). If i install it as a system app, it doesnt force close but gives a 'unsupported file format' error.
Can someone please post the VideoPlayer.apk from the working ROM please? Also, DivX.apk (just in case its needed too).

Have you been trying to play youtube movies on your Dopod U1000? It used to be a process requiring conversion and the picture quality was not good. Not anymore.
Check this out:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/tcpmpflvplugin/
I've tried it and the picture quality is sensational. It is exactly the same as if you're watching it on the desktop.
Another thing I noted is that on some movies, the download program gives an invalid id message, although it would work for most of the youtube movies that I tried. I don't know the cause. In such situation, you still have the option of doing the download via the website stated in the link.
It only works on TCPMP though. This is not a problem for me because I happen to have chosen TCPMP over others all along.
Enjoy

I downloaded zip file, dropped 2 exe and 2 plg files into tcpmp directory. What is next?
If I am going to youtube and select a video, it is saying I am having JavaScript turned off or an old version of Flash Player.
What I am missing?
Thanks!

Hi
It's a plug-in for TCP and not for the browser, so there are two files included
to download the video's (one for windows, the other for WM5).
Download the file, and start TCP open the downloaded file and play.
good luck.

Cool! It works great! Kinda dificult to Cut and Paste links and then go to TCPMP to play file. Is there an Opera or IE script/plugin to automate this?

try vtap , any youtube or web based video file, no messing with files it just works . and it actually finds what your looking for.
its no brainer IMO
I like vtap - but it is, I believe, only youtube and googlevids (and wikipedia) and some people have said the quality isn't 100%
It's still what I use most tho.

played around with vtap too. wouldnt say the quality was unacceptible, but i found it stopped quite regularly. i find the tcpmp plugin excellent - no worse really than its desktop counterpart, except for the annoyance that after a while PIE throws a wobbly and refuses to comply giving the error 'video not found' and neccessitating a full restart of the program. i am using the pk black touch 2.0 rom -has anyone else had this problem?
on a second note, id love for this to work for other video sites
I use the PK 3.0 ROM where the tcpmp is included in the ROM package. How do i go about it when wanting to install the FlashVideoBundle cab file in the same location as the tcp-player? tried just downloading another tcp and put it on my sd-card and then the FVB-cab in the same place, but that didnt yield anything to write home to mom about ;-)
mobytube.net is another way to do this.

I found that if i reinstalled the requisite TCPMP file then run flashbundle it works perfectly. It didn't work with the built-in TCPMP for some reason. Don't install to your SD card as there's no point - you've got 256mb onboard to play with anyway!
Posted the cabs I used so you should have no problem.
Apparently this can play google video but I've had no luck - does anyone now how to do this?
Is it possible to get Youtube movies working on the BA (running WM6), and if so, what player do I need?
The TCPMP player gives me a "RTSP protocol not supported" error when trying to look at a Youtube movie :/
hi there!
there is some kind of plugin/addon, which allows you to download youtube movies to your pda....
just search this forum or google for it, here is ONE source!
hope that helps....
regards,
krz
I have that tcpmp plugin, and it does work most of the time. I've run into some files on youtube that still give me an unknown media format error. Not sure why.
The Avot Media Viewer that someone posted about here a week or so ago works great though.
http://www.avotmedia.com/
http://m.avotmedia.com/
The Avot is OK but it needs much work to be more than OK.
I use the vTap.

You can also have a feature of searching into wikipedia articles!

hi everyone!
well, i installed the HTC STREAMING cab, which was included in xplode's cabs. i dont know, what version this actualy is...
anyway, i can playback youtube movies, but the performance sucks big time.... lots of stuttering, not enjoyable at all.... is it just me experiencing this problem?
is the BA oo slow to playback such vids?
or am i doing something wrong here?
thx in advance,
krz
you should check your internet connection too...
me again!
have to add, that i now have the FLASHVIDEOBUNDLE.cab installed, which not only gives me great streaming playback using TCMP Player (make sure u have installed the right version first!), but in addition to that gives me the oppotunity to save the flash videos to your storage right away....
VERY COOL CAB!!! KUDOS 4 THE (true) CREATORS!
btw: that STREAMING thing that came with xplode's cabs still doesnt work... (my internet connection is of course up and running!!)
cheers,krz
okay, after playing around a little bit and after installing/deinstalling/reinstalling HTC STREAMING Software, i am afraid i screwed up flv playback completely...
every time i try to load a youtube site, pocketIE crashes and my device freezes, leaving me with soft reset as only solution!
i tried to play back flvs on the youtube mobile site as well, with no sucess. nothing happens! the vids just dont load....
ARGH!!!!!
keeps crashing and crashing.... (pocketIE keeps loading, the suddenly freezes!)
when trying to play mobile youtube in pocketIE, nothing happens.... (just loads 0kb, then stops...)

thx a lot man!
now the last thing i am trying to find out is, wahat makes pocketIE and my whole pda freeze every time i load the "real" youtube.com.... maybe some java bug? i dunno.....
I can browse to youtube.com in my browser...I can click on "watch video"...then when the rtsp:// stream comes up, it opens windows media player, then I get "An unknown error 0X8007274D has occured." and it doesn't play the video.
I am not married to WMP, so if there is anothe rplayer that is faster, less bulky, like VLC but for mobile and can handle youtube streams, then I will be happy to use it, or can I get a flash plugin to make youtube work on my Titan lik eit does on a normal pc? with streaming flash?
Or if you have a way to make WMP work and not erro-out, then that's fine to, thanks.

Noob or not you should STILL read these threads and learn how to do things properly (Especially the instructions )
First download the latest Flashvideo Bundle CAB if you don't have it already.
Install TCPMP to your SD Card
Once TCPMP has installed copy the Flashvideo Bundle CAB to the TCPMP Folder that was created in Progam Files directory in your SD Card
From within the TCPMP program files directory initiate the installation of Flashvideo Bundle and save it to your SD Card
Then soft reset.
Once restarted launch TCPMP and check all the necessary file association options that you would need.
Now you can launch internet explorer --- visit youtube.com (full version) and you should be able to view Youtube videos automatically from TCPMP
though i am not sure what everybody uses youtube for so much. what does everybody watch all the time?? anyway....try veveo (veveo.com). love it b/c it searches more sites and plays great...good luck

TCPMP doesnt work on my phone. There are two versions of the xv6800, some that work right, and some that are a pain in the butt...I guess for $80 I got one of the pain in the but phones. I cannot use any roms or anything other than stock rom/radio, so oh well. i can live with it for $80, lol.

After following Carlos' directions...what happens when you go to play video...When you click on the vid from youtube...you should get a few options....play...stream...and I believe Link.... Is it doing this? IF TCPMP is erroring out check the tcpmp folder and make sure you have the flvsplitter and flvffmeg files.
that veveo works really good,i dont know why i dont hear more about it. just go to www.vtap.com from your phone and it goes right to the right install page, pretty easy
i followed the instructions to the letter...when i click "watch video" is still openes TCPMP then says "RTSP protocol not supported", and I have both the files for flash support in the TCPMP folder.
No worries, I uninstalled TCPMP and just used the youtube CAB file provided earlier in this thread and it works great Thanks!!

Are you going to youtube.com and not the Mobile site? You have to be at the youtube.com and choose the desktop version. From what I read the mobile site is in .3GPP which is not supported... I believe you can still download the videos and watch them in tcpmp.I never stream cause its always is choppy...NO 3G

I just tested TCPMP again to make sure that the flashvideo bundle still works.
It still works and doesn't need any updated version.
Who knows he might be using an old version of the Flashvideo bundle, he might not have the file association for flashvideo checked, or he isn't viewing youtube.com with pocket internet explorer.
I use TCPMP alot. I watch several movies on my xv6800. The quality isn't that bad either even when I stream youtube using WiFi.
Yeah wouldnt go without tcpmp...Streaming with wifi is great but when I stream on 1X service it blows...buddy has TILT with 3g and pisses me off....Could just be Stock rom....that was just a joke....I attached the same cabs I was using so it should have worked if installed correctly.
you tcpmp users are really missing out...i dont know if it is the decreased ram usage or what, but the cab file actually modifies the shell rather than installing additional memory hogging software...besides I can stream over both 3g and 1X with the youtubecab just fine.
its hard to find a 1X area where i live, but i tested youtube streaming on 1X, a 4minute video, played the whole way through without buffering. i guess im just lucky.
thanks for the cab file again guys.

Pretty sure Titans dont have 3g...or at least I havent heard of it or seen it....If your just using titan to watch youtube than youtubeplay is the way to go...But your very limited to playback on your titan...wmp doesnt support neary as many formats as tcpmp... Have you tried Downloading off of youtubeplay...It downloads in FLV and evertime I have used that and downloaded it has to play in tcpmp since I believe the youtubeplay player is only for playing streamed vids.
I want to stream a few movies from my tablet to my Samsung LED t.v like I can with my SGS2, but it seems as if the tab 10.1 doesn't have allshare.

That's what I've heard anyway...

The iMediaShare app will do the same, although it's not tablet-ready. I've been using it to send TED videos to my TV this afternoon. Free.
i use skifta. it works like allshare and will stream mkv files too so long as there is a player capable of playing mkv files on your tablet.

So long as your tablet isn't a phone I wouldn't worry about it. I've got it installed mine, and although the UI doesn't stretch to fill the big screen, the media lists do. When Allshare shows up, and if it works with my LG TV then I'll delete imediashare. Only suggested it as a placeholder until Samsung gets around to providing a solution.
Still have no idea about the suggestion by a salesclerk who stated that the Tablet could play your TV's content. The only way I get that done is if I'm lucky enough to find the same show on the network's web site and play it from there.
Media players need to know when the phone is in use so you aren't hearing asain midget porn in the background while talking to grandma..

For streaming movies, photos from your PC along with several Tab resident services, (YouTube, Shoutcast Flickr, Picasa and others), check out ZappoTV. The Android version is new and a work in progress but the iOS version is pretty solid.
You will need a compatible device attached to your TV or AV Receiver. I use the WDTV Live Plus but there are a number of others that work very well. You will also need a media server installed on your PC, (I use Tversity).
With this setup, I can fire up the Tab, turn my AV receiver to the appropriate input and control everything from my comfy leather chair. I am not sure if this app will stream content stored on the Tab itself but just about anything on the PC is available.
For playing music on a stereo system connected to a media server, the Android version of ZappoTV is not as good as it needs to be. A better app if you just want to use the Tab to manage and play your PC-based music library is 2Player.
Now if someone would figure out a way to control Pandora with the Tab and send the output to a media device like my WDTV, I would be a really happy camper.

For some reason, I can no longer play videos on my Galaxy 10.1 tab. What the heck is going on? They played beautifully before ICS, now they play with sound only.
I was using Dice Player with the plug-in, and they worked fine before. But now they won't work. So I deleted them, and downloaded them again, but they still won't work. So I uninstalled them again, and installed the Mobo player. Same thing -- audio, but no picture.
Is anybody else having this problem? I can't believe it's only my tab. Anybody have a solution? Thanks.

Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem after the update to ICS 4.0.4 the problems started.... this is because developers NO LONGER support the ADOBE Flash Player..!!!
Seems both have had issues, so Adobe stopped Supporting and updating and Google or Samsung or both have disabled its functions in the Update ICS 4.0.4...!!
Solution is to find a working / supporting Video Downloader which gives you the choice to View and Downliad Videos..!!
I am now using "Firefox with Video Downloader and the MXPlayer" works well..!!!!!
Just have to test and choose whichever combination works for you.!
Hope this answers your Q's

I guess I should clarify my original post. I have absolutely no problem playing web-based videos. I have no problems with Youtube, and videos play when I visit websites with flash video. My web-based videos play fine whether I'm using Firefox or the stock Android browser.
On the other hand, I am having problems with my personal video files (MP4, MKV, etc.) that I import into my tab. Prior to the ICS update, the videos played fine using Dice player. And even for a couple of weeks after the ICS update, the videos played, although choppy. After consulting with a Samsung tech person, he advised me to do a hard reset of my tab. That seemed to fix things.
But now, my videos play with audio only, no video. I have installed and reinstalled Dice Player, and Mobo Player, but neither work. This is really bumming me out because watching videos is one of my primary uses for the Galaxy Tab.

OK, I've tried everything, and just now (reluctantly) did a hard reset of my tab. No change; I still can't play most of my video files. All I get is sound, no video.
Does anybody have any idea why my video capability suddenly stopped working? I have checked every setting I could find; I have installed and reinstalled video players; and have even tried recoding some of my videos. They are coded at mp4 with H.264. A week ago, they played flawlessly in my Dice player.
Anybody have any suggestions?
