edit MP3 volume levels - Galaxy S I9000 General

on my old phone there was a code you could enter to take you to a hidden audio menu, in here you could adjust the headphone MP3 db volume levels, does anyone know if you can do this on the Galaxy S?

I'm trying to increase the speaker volume, mainly to listen to the radio and music player.
I have entered in the service mode menu with the code *#197238640#, select [5] AUDIO, and then [3] SPEAKER, and [1] VOLUME, but then there are seven sections and I don't know which to choose, or what values to enter.
Intuitively I think that point to change is No. 6-- I2S1 Rx Gain(if menu is similar to Omnia HD), but the original value is hexadecimal (0x1c85), and I have no idead for the input code.
Anyone knows?
PD: Sorry for my very very bad english;

Playing with *vibrate*

Hi,
In the registry you can play with sounds for different phone events.
Goto HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds. You will see 20 keys that represent
different phone related events.
To make all your numerical buttons vibrate do this:
Dtmf0 to 9
Rename the original Sound value (dword) to Sound.org
Then Create a new string value called Sound.
Give it the text value *vibrate*
EDIT: 6 july 2007
Found CAB files to do the trick: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1342900&highlight=*vibrate*#post1342900
No need to reset. Just open the phone app and press any number.
Feel it vibrate ;O)
Other interesting keys for this trick are CallDrop and Ending.
KeyPress is a special key. There you can only play with Beepmode
3 play all Dialpad sounds with long Dtmf sounds
2 look for BeepScript string that can be "p"=short or "l0"=long tone
1 silent only DTMF keys
0 silent all Dialpad keys
Cheers

Ringtone Volume

I couldn't find a post about how to boost the rather feeble ringtone volume but after a bit of research I got to the bottom of it :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Sound Catagories/Ring
The default value is 5, I changed this to 9 and now its good and loud.
Hope that's helpful to someone.
Wich key ? because none have default value 5 !
Thanks, this helped.

key: InitVol
I tried it on my Touch Cruise but doesn't seems to make any differences.
I still have to use WavePad to amplify my mp3 ringtones.
I think its most effective if they are wma.
Best if they are : 48 kbps, 44 kHz, mono.
I tested with mp3 and (by ear) it didn't seem so clear.
Tested with mp3 but the modification doesn't seems to change ringtone volume.
and when I soft reset my TC, the reg key come back to its default value 5.

Incoming Sound Calls

Hi sorry i'm a newbie here,
Would like to know if anybody is experiencing low call volumes from smses/incoming calls?
I've been like getting too many miss calls and unread texts due to the volume ringer apparently being too soft to be noticed.
I've set the volume to the max of the settings but i still get soft sounds and lotsa missed calls.
Does anybody have any help to this, my friends OMNIA seems to have another settings in which he got this weird number combination and when he enters and sets, the volume becomes visibily loud.
Thank you and sorry if its really lame for me to be asking this.
well i'm facing the same problem!
could anyone help please?
Coming from a Nokia N95 to the X1 I too would like to know as the speaker on this phone is its biggest let down in my opinion.
It really depends on the sound file.
Some sounds are loud as hell as well as some are unusably low,
llike the tunes from SE site.
I checked many of them.
im having this problem
I had a similar problem. I came across the following somewhere on this forum.
HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Attenuation
There are three values below that 0, 1 and 2. General sound is associated with category 2 and this is probably set to 1 at the moment. I have changed the value associated with category 2 to 3 for the moment. I have heard that it can be changed to as high as 5 but I don't want to damage the speaker.
So in short change the HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Attenuation\2 registry setting from the default 1 to a higher value (between 1 and 5) and this will factor up the volume for most phone functions. Once you've done that power cycle the phone for the change to take effect.

Isolate MVC Annoucement from ringtone

I have Microsoft Voice Command 1.6.21725 running on my HTC Touch Diamond 2. I want to be able to have my calls announced by name & type louder than the ringtone in the background. This will enable me to hear the announcement clearly.
Now I have searched the net (BTW I dont use bluetooth so I dont need fixes for this) and have tried the following registry suggestions but it didnt work.
HKCU\Control Panel\Sound Categories\Voice Command1\AttenutationCategory
I set it from 3 to 7
I would also like to know what as5p means?
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Script: change as5p to v0p (for vibrate and ring) or p (for ring only)
This is what I could decipher for script code. Any explanations or corrections would be appreciated.
a = activate device
cN = set volume to N in percentage max volume
p = play ringtone. Note that this will play the ringtone all the way through before continuing with the next code.
r = repeat. Note that this should be the last code in your Script string, if used at all.
vN = vibrate for N seconds
wN = wait for N seconds. Note that the device will wait this long before continuing with the next code.
Had similar problem, so disabled sounds in Sounds and Notifications, leaving me with Voice Command notifications only. Alternatively, possible to set up the system to short ding or vibrate just before the announcement kicks in (they are delayed slightly anyway)

[CM9.x][CM10.x][Guide] - Volume Up Your Speaker

People ask me why the speaker's volume is too low on CM9 and CM10.x ROMs, instead of stock ROMs. CM9 and CM10.x users hear their interlocutors badly. Service codes dont work.
Ok, here is my SamsungServiceMode for Galaxy Ace that works on every ROM - now you can volume up your speaker with my guide.
SamsungServiceMode is already included in my MIUIv4 ICS and CM9.2 ROMs.
Let's start! :fingers-crossed:
1. Download and flash my SamsungServiceMode
2. Now open SeviceMode in your dialer: *#*#197328640#*#*
3. Goto Section 5 - Audio (If your Section5 Audio is blocked, you need to change your modem)
4. Goto Section 1 - HANDSET
5. Goto Section 2 - RX VALUE
6. Goto Section 1 - RX CODEC/VOLUE
Now you need to add your volume values. Here is my values:
Rx Codec Gain - ffff
RX VOLUE 4 - 5fff
RX VOLUE 5 - 12fff
Be careful! Dont give too high values! It can damage your speaker!
Good luck!
What are the default values for this???
Sent from my GT-S5830
Can i use it also for my Gio?
