Has anyone had any trouble running iGO 8 with WM6.5? On my vogue, it's always freezing at the "starting" stage of the startup screen. I haven't tested it on WM 6.1 so I'm not sure if it's a problem with 6.5 specifically or the vogue. Anyone have similar experiences?
If I remember correctly IGO8 does not like the internet assisted aspect of the internal gps chip. You must disable the internet feature in the registry and use unassisted gps only. Sucks when your gps locks are unreliable so I always carried a bluetooth gps module when using IGO8.
I have to prime the gps on mine with something like AstroGps Launcher or it will not work. Search for iGo8 launcher here in the forums and you will get up and running in no time.
The search didn't turn anything up but it looks like the priming trick did work. I'm just using GPS viewer but it looks like if i use "open GPS" it launches fine. Thanks so much!

Don't forget about GPSGate! I'm using WM6.1, aGPS, and GPSGate to get my iGo8 running. Gets sat lock faster.
I found a link to the launcher Here you go.
Thanks! Maybe I'll give GPSGate or Astra a try.

if you added the speed cams folder, it takes igo 8 a little while longer to boot due to loading the speedcam txt files

I've installed NFSFAN's V12 (WM 6.5) and tried to use iGO8 and encountered similar problem of freezing up at starting page. Any input is appreciated.
Desi Chookrah LOL,
in NFSFAN's rom there is a folder under system tools. In it you will find GPS Viewer. Run that program (com port should be 4) and click open GPS. while this is running, start IG8 up. make sure in IGO8 you scan for ports and it should pick up where your GPS is.
I use astrogpslauncher to avoid this problem.

pfft. igo works fine with APGS. I've been using it since it was fixed (agps that is) and I have no trouble with igo8. I get a lock in about 4 seconds.
iGO Resolution on HTC Vogue
How do you change the resolution of iGO on vogue, I have it running using the gps viewer before I launch iGO but the resolution needs to be adjusted.
Here is a cab for 6.0/6.1 users for WM Marketplace or WM6.5 if its not installed in rom. I made it from 23053 skymarket oem pkg. Its for WWE only and only for devices that have a bootlauncher (IE no apache.) Let me know if it doesn't work on stock roms as its not signed as I'm not sure if signature is required but it will run on cooked roms with full kernel trust enabled.
Edit from reports it seems to run on stock roms too
Some reports that it errors if IE isn't default browser also.
Have they taken the site down? I keep getting a "Marketplace could not connect because the server is unavailable" message.

I also have that error.
Probably a trail run for the big launch tomorrow
Marketplace has been closed today from 3 PM. I think they will open it with many apps included!
I just tried it using the app in my ROM.. It downloaded a new version, and connected to the Marketplace, but there's only about a dozen apps online atm, and almost no free ones...
Hey, thanks! Works perfectly for me in the UK with my cooked 6.5 ROM!
I can admire my app online now!
Btw, it has a serious flaw. It doesnt require a PIN when purchasing something, thus anybody that may get his hands on your phone may start charging you as he likes.
Thanks a lot for this app, I don't have it on my 6.1 ROM. I'll give it a try tomorrow
Hi I have the ROM "Valkyrie XPERIO" (the latest version).
I have installed the CAB and when I click on it I get the message:
"Windows Marketplace for Mobile cannot connect. There may be a problem with the Marketplace service right now. Check your internet connection and try again later."
I know the internet connection is fine, I didn't have marketplace built into the ROM so just wondered if someone has seen this error message?
Works good on HTC Raphael with official 6.1 ROM, but very poor choice of apps for now.
Works fine on HTC Touch running NFSfan's v14 ROM. Thanks man!

Hi,
After download the cab and install it, when I launch the program, 3G is activating, but nothing else on my screen.
I'm on WM 6.1 Rom Mania Adrenaline final FRE.
ok mine ended up working in the end, just took a few attempts to connect the first time. Works a treat now
And yeah I saw the £10 calculator!! WTF?! Just wondering if we'll see anything like BING or Skype on here?
marketplace is opened from now
office mobile price is 29$. i don't know why but i think it free

Yeah, I saw that. You have to wonder what the hell the devs of that have been smoking. £10 for a calculator? <bleep> off!
Not impressed with the startup so far though.. Very small selection of titles (I count 39 apps in total. 39!!), and almost NO free stuff, not even trial versions!
Is there a chance to have it working with Opera as browser ? Today all cooked ROM are using Opera instead of IE...
Just a quick question before I upgrade to win 6.5 on my Diamond2. The previous rom had Copilot7 installed and this prevented Copilot 8 to be installed as the previous version had to be removed and being in the rom this was impossible I was lucky enough to have had an older rom that did not have Copilot 7 on it so I was able to upgrade without a problem.
So the question is: does win 6.5 rom have Copilot installed in the rom thus preventing an upgrade to Copilot 8.
Wulls,
Are you talking about the official WM6.5 stock ROM, or a cooked ROM? If you intend to flash the former, then I don't know, but if you will be flashing a cooked ROM then it will not have Copilot 8 installed and you can do a fresh installation without any difficulty.
The official stock rom has CoPilot7 included.
Thanks to all for the quick reply yes it is the official stock rom I would be installing.
That sucks I would have thought with a new rom if HTC would have installed the latest ver. of Copilot.
I don't suppose there is a way around this?

wulls.
It's entirely up to you, but cooked ROMs are miles ahead of stock ones, and from what I've read, the official one is way behind (manila version etc) the current cooked ones. I was hesitant to hard-spl my device and flash a cooked ROM, however it is easily the best the thing I've done with regards to my device - it opens up endless opportunities for having the latest look and feel and being able to customise etc. It is also very safe and almost risk-free if you follow the instructions correctly!
What I'm saying is that you can have Copilot Live 8 quite easily by taking the leap to a cooked ROM (the 'new' price is the same as the 'upgrade' price). I've done both and have no regrets, but it's up to you of course.
SKTools Uninstaller did the job for me....version 8 here I come
Thanks sb09 for the reply I have often thought of going the cooked rom way but I have read here that so many have instability and slowing down problems with the diamond2.
It looks as though I may have to go this way, which means I have lot of reading to do on how to install cooked roms. Do you have any recomendations as which cooked rom I should go for.

wulls,
If you are tempted, then I'd say don't hesitate - just do it (you will not regret it I promise). Just take lots of care initially and follow instructions, and when it's done, you'll say to yourself "well that was much easier than I thought it would be" - bet you!
We each have our our preferences and opinions, and many of us are devotees of one particular chef, though others like to try them all out.
I liked Dutty's ROMs since the days of the Touch Diamond. He churns out updates on a regular basis, listens to user feedback, and takes the safe reliable route of stable ROMS (which would definitely benefit the likes of yourself as a beginner). Others like udk, shadowline etc take more risks and can sometimes be more innovative using the latest builds etc, but these come less stable. Each to their own, but I prefer Dutty ROMs, and would strongly recommend you flash one of his (I stayed on his Leo R3 for a while cause I couldn't fault it, but now I'm on his Leo R6, though he's recently updated to R7 but I don't update mine on every occasion).
Hope this helps a bit. You'll be surprised how easy and safe and reliable it is once you get over the first steps! And you can upgrade to CPL8 of course.
copilot
i updated to win 6.5
it had copilot 7 trial on it so i just went to
start>settings>remove programs
and unistalled it from there
just waiting for copilot 8 to download now, before installing

Bought CP8. BE WARNED. Not all of the features work on the TD2. Some of the live features are greyed out thus reduceing funtionality. Fuel prices, Live local search AND Live Traffic. last one was a bit of a shock considering the money spent! BUT their site does say that CP8 MAY not work with TD2 so you takes your chances. If anybody has a fix especially for the traffic - very interested. Otherwise a graet product that complements your phone!!

It has nothing to do with the TD2. Fuel Prices, Live Local Search and Live Traffic have not been released for CP8 yet. They are not there on any device.
It is fully compatible with the TD2, there only may be problems with TD2's that came with CP7 pre-installed as that version can't be uninstalled (easily) stopping the CP8 install from working.
Please see this from ALK...
Thank you for contacting CoPilot Technical Support.
The current version of CoPilot Live 8 that we have on sale is fully compatible with the HTC Touch Diamond 2.
Unfortunately if you have a previous version of CoPilot 7 pre-installed with the customized version of CoPilot Live 7 for the HTC Diamond II on your device you won't be able to uninstall it and re-install the new version as HTC stop CoPilot from being removed from the device once installed.
In order to check if you have the customized version or not please send us your software build version:
Launch Copilot on your device / More / Settings / More / More / More / About Copilot / Version
If you have any further questions, or feel that this incident has not been resolved to your satisfaction, please do not hesitate to bring this to our attention.

Can they really do this? Surely there must be a way to remove it apart from a standard uninstall? Does other software behave like this?
Like I said before, using SK-Tools I have removed CP7 from the official HTC 6.5 ROM and successfully installed (DEACTIVATE needed if installed on 6.1 ROM) CP8 with no problemos.....

copilot 8 is available on the td2 as i selected the device- as loads others here have as well
but if you think that £26 is a lot of money for a sat nav service, then have a look at wayfinder - £50, blackberry telmaps - £5 a month, or tom tom which is what? £80+

When I installed CoPilot8 on my TD2, it told me that it needed to uninstall the former version first. Which of course I allowed...

Hi all,
anybody experienced the same issue with a not-startin fring? So far I installed fring (version for Xperia and "other WM") but tipping the icon won't start fring, just the icon gets enlighted and nothing more happens.
Has anybody got an idea how to get to work with fring?
Thanks, Bluiecharge
Looking at fring here im seeing no mention of 6.5, i cant really tell you how much changed between 6.1 and 6.5 (to me id say just the design) but i guess theres something there.
Your best bet would be to email fring support (or something, contact fring) asking if they are working on a wm6.5 version
From previous reports, it seems there is some issues with htc message in manila 2.5.
Its currently not supported.

Not working for me either. Shame, as Fring was one of the best things about my Kaiser (and yes, the audio DID correctly re-route to the earpiece!).
Does Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20wp work with the new 23xxx ROMs? I have an old copy of it, bought it a while back for my Kaiser, but I want to know if it'll work with my Rhodium on one of the newer ROMs.
I'm using on the newest DeepShining Build 23569. It works well. Only time the screen glitches up is if you try to rotate it when you first launch the program. I always click "View Map" first, slide the keyboard out and then the screen rotation works the way it should.
