After rooting the phone, some of the carrier applications that come standard were deleted (which is nice)
Problem is the icons are still there on the application list Like O2 and RAN.
the proper icons are gone, and they have the market icon.
Anyone knows how to solve this?
I went to /system/app but they dont seem to be there.
Thanks

Hi, I just got my Omnia II and one of the things I already can't stand is that my operator has created some widgets in the today screen and there doesn't seem a way to remove them. I can drag them around but they won't go back to the widget bar, they are locked in the today screen.
Since I just got the phone I was planning to play around with it for a while before I flash a new rom in it, so it would be really good if I could find a way to get rid of these widgets, since they are just occupying space in my screen.
Anybody knows a Reg Hack or something to "unlock" the widget?
appreciate your comments.
cheers
For some reason the graphic for HTC People - HTC Calander and HTC Music have disappeared in the start menu and shows a blank white window with its blue border. Even though this isn't a major problem I've set a Quick Link from the home screen to music and showing that white window loses the eye candy. Also the slider icons are working fine so its not a problem there. I'm sure if I reset the ROM it will fix it but I was wondering if there was another way to do this instead of having to lose everything and start again...
Thanks in advance !!
I dont know a solution, but partly the same icon problem here; HTC People icon in white/blue, Calendar icon okay, Music icon not there.
So you're not alone Ashley
Just reinstalled the ROM and its all back to normal, guess we couldn't fine a workaround no worries though !
any fixes without reflash.
did you try Change Start Menu Icons?

just deleted them, thanks for the info
Now I seem to be missing the icon within MSN messenger that you click on to go back to the contact list once you're in a conversation window. It's the little green guy icon. It's just a blank space now but if I click it anyway it will still go back to the contact list but it just looks weird now with nothing there.
I know it's something I installed that likely made it disappear but after trying to remove all my hacks/customizations I only ended up screwing my whole phone up and had to restore to a back up to get it all back working again. All of my customizations are Anastasia theme related.
Anyone familiar with the app that causes this bug??
In the past two weeks or so I've tried every method I could find on XDA and elsewhere to modify app icons and names so I could customize my quick nav buttons and make them a unified set after using Nook Touch Mod Manager to assign different apps to them (I know...picky, picky, picky).
Clearly some people have done this. I have not. Can someone who has done it point me in the direction of a tutorial that really works for a noob? I'm trying to change icons and names for market apps, not system apps.
Have you tried apk edit? If not look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890199

I did. In various versions. It either ran continuously (with ADW or GMail apps, for example) or crashed on applying changes (with Opera Mobile, for example). I do have Java (v. 7) and .NET framework (4) installed. Unless I have to roll back to .NET 3.5, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
The other thing that occurs to me with APK Edit on re-reading that post is that it seems to assume a real communication to root via USB. Plugging in the Nook ST to my computer probably doesn't supply that kind of access. And I haven't gone through the trial of setting up ADB because I've never had any use for it. If I thought that would help, I'd struggle through that.
[SOLVED!]
Victory! After being emboldened by successfully modifying the menu background tones in framework-res.apk (thanks to mergen3107 here--post 23) I finally began to understand the post by ladykayaker here--post 83) and...
Ta-da!
Even better, they work
Thanks I never would have gotten there if you hadn't helped me with getting the modded framework file back onto the Nook.
When you told me the screen font for the quicknav button icons I looked through my store of fonts and the closest thing I had was Gill Sans MT. To my eye it didn't look quite right. So I kept a stock icon in my editor all the time, side-by-side with the one I was altering. The stock font was a little taller it seemed to me. I ended up using 16 pt. but it still was not quite right, so in the end I replaced the label in the library icon (which is otherwise unchanged) so that everything would match--that was the whole idea to begin with anyway!
I tried to keep things generic enough so that even if I change apps in the background (like I just changed from the frequently malfunctioning GMail to Email) all I have to do is edit settings.db instead of creating a new quicknav icon.
Hmm....maybe that globe need to come down just a tad......
On 4.4.2 when I plugged in headphones I got this little notification bar that showed me my most used apps when I had headphones plugged. Very nice, I liked that. But since I upgraded to 5.01 it still comes up with the notification bar, but the apps are not relevant anymore, ie it doesn't show my most used apps, but the default ones.
I'm sure I'm missing something, but I just don't see it.
Note: I did remove bloatware and I'm fearing I may have accidentally removed a relevant apk, but I did check in system/priv-app and it definitely shows PageBuddyNotiSvcK.apk, which I presume to be the service need for this feature.
