Download Arabic fonts and use the Explorer to move them to System/Fonts
Try to use this file I prepared to install Arabic fonts after you root your X10 and let me know how it works for you.
So far it enables Arabic letters but they are displayed separate.
Will keep you posted if more progress is reached.

How does it not work? Do you get an error when running the file? Are you unable to see arabic characters after install? What exactly happens?
you need to replace the "DroidSansFallback.ttf" font with Arabic support one
like the one in the attachments
download the attachment .
run the Arabic.cmd
arabic characters will shown perfectly but seperated
this is for now , there are a good news soon
good

Hi all,
Finally I was able to almost completely arabize my x10 (text only and not interface). Now even gmail and the browser can display correct arabic characters and in the right layout. Below are the steps that you need to follow to arabize your x10:
NOTE: You must have upgraded to 2.1 AND have root access and can browse and overwrite system files.
Download the arabic2.1.rar file from ttp://hotfile.com/dl/80436943/3b83154/Arabic2.1.rar.html
Extract the files. You will find two folders, fonts and lib. Copy the files in fonts to system/fonts in your system (You need to overwrite them). And then copy the files in lib to system/lib (You need to overwrite them).
Note that your x10 might restart after overwriting any of the files. After you finishing copying the files, you just restart your x10 and enjoy your x10 with arabic support just like I am enjoying it .
Good luck

Are both files the same?
I'm currently trying asfoorial's post
hmmmm tried to paste the files in lib to the system/lib using root explorer but it damaged my phone and now I have to re-install 2.1 software via SEUS. Luckily I backed up everything before doing anything
Well it turned out to be my mistake as I copied all the files inmmediately...
I've done it by copying one file at a time and it worked
kudos on both posts
Thanks to XperiaX10iUser. I didn't know there was a post about the same thing.

by simply downloading arabic keyboard from the market... you can find many there,
I use Ibrahim arabic keyboard
and when you finished installing it, just go to settings>Language and keyboard>(tick) Ibrahim keyboard.
after that simply long-press in any text boxes and choose "input method" then select ibrahim keyboard......... you'll be able to write in arabic now
thanks MJ_QaT so much appreciate ur efforts....and i'm so sorry 4 bothering u guys cuz it seemed that i asked very silly question

Hey I am Indian.In stock 2.1 firmware i was able to view the hindi sms send by my friends but when i upgraded galaxy 3 with I5800XXJPM i am not able to view hindi sms or translate sms to hindi via google translater.Can anyone help ????
Please suggest me hind fonts.
Same here I am also not able to read hindi sms on jpm why? I don't know.
Sent from my GT-I5801
As far as I know, hindi fonts support cannot be added on to a ROM..JPM etc. are ROMs for Europe, so don't have support for hindi/marathi fonts support. I think we will just have to wait for official Froyo release in India.
It is possible... Download a opentype indic unicode font or a hindi unicode font.. Then install "font changer (root)" from market.. Then move the downloaded font to /sdcard/.fontchanger .. Open font changer.. Select the font.. Apply it.. Do a reboot.. U r ready to read hindi on ur cell..
PS: (1) ryt now I cnt giv u such a hindi font.. Help urself ...
(2) font changer needs ROOT PERMISSION & BUSYBOX IN SYSTEM..
I can giv u a screenshot of a webpage showing bengali scripts on indroid , if u want...

Copy paste not working for me
when i copy the DroidSansFallback.ttf which was already there however i did copy DroidSansFallback.ttf and tried pasting it in sdcard/system/fonts it gives me error cannot paste DroidSansFallback.ttf from clipboard..
plz help me...dyeing to read the sms in hindi/marathi....
i was trying to copy...but there is same font exists...i replaced that font but nothing happen....then i tried to paste by renaming the font but this also did not work...
@TakkenLaw: pls tell me the procedure...i also want MARATHI font.....
धन्यवाद....
Guys you need to root the phone & then overwrite the font file using a file manager that can use superuser rights (I use Super Manager)..hindi & marathi use the same devnagari script, so replacing this font file should work for both languages.
I hav rooted my phone. And I hav replaced font with ES file explorer, and rebooted the phone but nothing happen.
This procedure i tried for many times but no result...
Is there any other way to read marathi/hindi language????

Are you very peculiar abt the looks of your phone...
Then you should be thinking of changing the fonts too...
Grab this free app (i m not the developer) from the market to change the font of your phone in seconds..
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.martino2k6.fontchangerlite&hl=en
It should work on any rooted phone...
I had compiled the best 62 fonts in the zip which u can download..
Place the fonts after extracting in your sdcard in .fontchanger folder
My personal favourite font ITCKRIST.ttf (screenshot attached)
If u like the fonts.. do press the THANKS button,,,
P.S. :- Plz dont mirror the file..instead redirect to this post...
Note..:- It worked for me on CM 6.5.8
I wont be responsible if u brick ur device in the process

Hi brothers,
First of all I'm not a dev. but i used available resource to get this result.
for all arabic Miui Users, i have used last Arabic RTL Script 5.00 to modify latest MIUI this ROM. http://roms.miui.us/
thread Here
http://forums.miuiandroid.com/showthread.php?723-Arabic-and-Persian-RTL-Fix-30-10-2011-HUGE-UPDATE!!
I have tested more than one device, it works very will, for fonts you can use theme customization to download any font you like.
I take no responsibility for any harm that comes to your phone as a result of applying this mod.
Download MIUI.us_u8800_1.12.9_Eng_RTL
http://www.mediafire.com/?pb7af5750m0bdym
regarding tethering & Portable Hotspot issue, I kept old rom.
Download MIUI.us_u8800_1.11.25_Eng_RTL
http://www.mediafire.com/?h4bzqhbrbuam4g7
Arabic ROM by 95% to 100% Arabic support.
I didn't test it yet, but you can try it and give me feed back for any bugs.
Thanx to sssblackhawksss form ce4arab forum for sharing such rom.
also use it on your own risk. same way below.
Download MIUI_u8800_1.12.30_MUL_v2 full arabic support
http://www.mediafire.com/?sjb4mevz9q428j1
Installation
follow this steps carefully:
* Copy ziped file to your external SDCard
* Boot to clockworkmod recovery
* (Optional) Perform a backup (in the advanced menu). After backing up reboot recovery.
* Install zip from SDCard.
* after installation, "Important for first MIUI install" Wipe data & cache.
* Reboot to system and enjoy. Be patient the first boot as it takes a while to build the dalvik cache and may reboot twice, but it boot at end.

So basically I was trying the methods you can find here on xda, but they didn't work on our GS3 (I'm not the only one who noticed this), then I found out that we have one more tiny little step to make, and that's changing fallback_fonts.xml the file that says which fonts to use when the system fonts are not capable to read the content.
Here we go!
What do you need? Root and Root Explorer
IMPORTANT: Make a backup of the 2 files we are going to replace and also a Nandroid Backup if you want to be sure.
1: download this two files:
DroidSansFallback.ttf https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18807962/DroidSansFallback.ttf
fallback_fonts.xml https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18807962/fallback_fonts.xml
2: place the two files as follows with Root Explorer:
DroidSansFallback.ttf goes to /system/fonts
fallback_fonts.xml goes to /system/etc
You will be asked if you want to replace the two files, of course you will say "Yes dude".
3: Reboot and enjoy
I've tested it in the Twitter app and in Instagram and it works (in Instagram sometimes I can see the emojis in the notifications but then I can't in the pic's comments, don't know why, bue I guess it's an Instagram's app issue)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

}
Tested also on KIK, it works :good:
I wish there was a way to integrate emojis to stock keyboard its annoying to switch keyboard / open a separate app just for it :/

Sorry i generally lurk the forums and dont post.
First off this worked for emoji. Spectacular info.
My question is can the unicode fonts be fixed the same way?
I'm still randomly getting those silly little boxes in pal and s8 games
Where on my evo i needed to install 2 other fonts. Inorder to see the unicode writing.
Any ideas?
It should work exactly in the same way, add the two fonts in the fonts' folder and then modify the xml adding the two new fonts in it.
thanks for the help but the fallback_fonts.xml wont download

Emoji still doesn't fully work
So i replaced the files and rebooted my galaxy but i still can't see messages on twitter the boxes still come up unless i see each message one by one in details and also i can't see emoji's when someone texts me the only time i can see the emoji's is when i type them myself.
Is there any fix for this so i can see the emojis people text me?
works
You definitely need RootExplorer with Mount R/W to replace the files - and they work perfectly...
Thank you...
Now we have to figure out a way to get those Emoj Keys into the Keyboard...

Hey... found it...
Search for "Emoji Keyboard" in the Google Playstore.
This Keyboard works perfectly together with your font package pre-intalled.
I can finally use my normal Message app to write and receive Emoji... Nice...
I have to say thank you again...
color emoji possible?
Thanks :good:

Anything is possible with Android . Hopefully someone is already working on this, as this is a small step towards a bigger goal.
I'd like to state that emojis are working on my rooted Galaxy S Froyo. Thank you!!

when i first installed this i was able to see it on the PICTURE'S comment but after i updated IG to 3.1.0 im no longer able to see them on the photo comment hmm might try two things....revert IG back to 3.0 [ IF i can find it ] or restore those two files w/ root explorer reboot and then copy the EMOJI files back ] see if that works out.
No need to do so much effort. Just install latest Jelly Bean keyboard pro and Emoji icons from play store. Long press enter key anytime on keyboard and you will find Emoji; can use them in all applications.
I can't download the second file

For the second file for me, instead of downloading file, it's showing the .xml display. So i just copied it and paste/replace it on the original file

Thanks!
Emojis work in everything but texting :/
Is it supposed to? Do I need to uninstall the emoji plug in from Handcent?
