Guys
If I upgrade to R2BA020 firmware will I able to root it later once its released?
I want to experience some good changes after all but I'm afraid that if I upgrade it I will lose the chance to root it.

CWM recovery method is the only way to root this ROM for now but it works with bootloader unlocked phones only. I have no idea for the locked ones. May be you need to wait for a new version Flashtool or pre-rooted ROM.
Hmm this version doesn't seem to change anything, or anything noticeable at least. Waste of time but atleast its a new firmware.

In Greece also stuck on 4.0.2.A.0.42. I've updated to .62, but I made a mistake and used the firmware for Arc, not for Arc S, so now I'm downloading the right file. My only hesitation is that I'm on stock kernel and therefore not able to root with .62 firmware, but I hope that this will be soon resolved.
The .62 is MAA, it hase some SlideME market also, the .42 was a Global FW for many countries, the .62 is just minor update to MAA (Middle East and Africa)

Thanks for the info. Then I should get back to .42, to be able to root. Maybe someone can help me where to find the .42 firmware? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I want to delete the branding of my i9506 with latest android 4.3 running on it.
It has the newer bootloader which is locked i guess and I don´t know now, how to make it unbranded.
It is running the latest android 4.3 firmware with t-mobile branding. i`ve read something, about flashing the 4.3 firmware of the nordic countries, which is without brand as i know.
anyone can help me pls?
Thank you
You can't. The unique way for unlock ur phone is buying a unlock code, unlocking it by IMEI :highfive:

I am using the P9 Lite VNS-L21 version (B160). I don't know much about rooting and flashing and all that, but i would like to ask if it is safe to install the b336 version on my phone? Will i be able to normaly update to the official version of Nougat after it comes out? Do i need to be rooted for firmware finder to work?

You should wait for OTA. Is a complicated process and it doesn t worth. Nougat has some really battery drain. In my opinion you should wait for official OTA. But if you want to risk...it s your problem.

A new security update is available. It is 127.9 mb. Anyone know if security updates can be installed without losing root? I'm on 10q now, rooted with Magisk and using TWRP for recovery.

Thanks man. I didn't realize 10r roms were out there yet.
I currently have the September patch on my Mi A2, but I cannot install the October update. The update downloads but fails to install. I heard that rooting can cause issues but is that really the reason?
hmmmm yes, that's really the reason.

You must flash stock boot and instlal it and again flash patched_boot
If you rooted by magisk, first restore stock images (Uninstall -> RESTORE IMAGES), then you can get OTA !!
The truth, this update so poor, I hope better from here to December, for now zero updates ..

JC
