A few VNS-L21 Nougat firmware finder questions. - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

I am using the P9 Lite VNS-L21 version (B160). I don't know much about rooting and flashing and all that, but i would like to ask if it is safe to install the b336 version on my phone? Will i be able to normaly update to the official version of Nougat after it comes out? Do i need to be rooted for firmware finder to work?

You should wait for OTA. Is a complicated process and it doesn t worth. Nougat has some really battery drain. In my opinion you should wait for official OTA. But if you want to risk...it s your problem.

LOL :good: I'm gonna go back to the Asian B137 kitkat as I'm running the European version of B317 at the moment and upgrade from there, I'll see how it goes.
Downloading!
Installed, and works fine, only one problem with root, kingroot 4.5.2 not work
Any way to root with this version ?
Guys, there already is a thread on this topic. @alucine: there are numerous threads on that topic as well. Just exercise your fingers a little and do a search
It's not necessary to downgrade to an official firmware. Local update with B324 works fine with B317 installed before.

Its easier and better imo to flash the complete rom as a local update and perform a factory afterwards then waiting for an OTA. I flashed L over the B145 version and i have no issues at all.
I can flash this on the rom erykine 1.1.0?

No, only with a non modified stock Rom.
Do you have the snow notifications option by swiping down fingerprint id? It was on beta but not now. Wasn't working on beta through..
Send from Mate 7 using tapatalk
it's work!
I try to unzip the update.zip first. Then just copy "dload" folder within UPDATE.APP inside to MICROSD. Then try to do the Normal Upgrade by the following steps :
Press menu key to choose Settings->Updater->Menu->Local upgrade->Confirm->Upgrade to start the upgrade.
It's work.

Will having the balong bug put in a disadvantage?

Recently upgraded to marshmallow and realised that I had the balong bug. I dont want to downgrade to fix it, so will my phone be different in any way? I heard I wouldnt be able to get ota updates, is this true?

you cannot update it further... no OTA, no flashing... the only way to update is to remove the balong bug.. and for that, you have to downgrade
I hope this kernel.. XXXXXXXXXXXXXX....

A friend of mine was on lollipop Balong bug. I update his phone to MM with C432 build, the recovery said "fail" but the phone booted up on MM. So flashing seems to work.

Install nougat with firmware finder?

HELLO.
I see update firmware finder (Firmware Finder Proxy).
I ask if anyone has tested?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70858749&postcount=169
I got B336 ota for L21C432 too. Maybe it's safe.
Make a backup first (oeminfo is important!!!)

HELLO
It does not work for me, I must be bad.
Firmware finder tells me ota l31c432b336 00mb.
............. b335 00mb.
I think that is not free in France for the moment. I have to wait update ota beta-test for that to work.
I think for ota beta-release releases (c185b331 ......), it must work

Yes. Does this work?
It's better to wait until you get it from the OTA updater, not from FF proxy. At least if you don't wanna brick your phone

Can't update to Android 7.0

Hi.
First, sorry for my crappy English.
I'm from Argentina.
I have an Huawei Mate 8 nxt-l29, compilation (this says something?) nxt-l29c636b180, and I can't update it to Android nougat. In the app hicares and others, says that have the last update.
It's this possible?
I had before an a Huawei mate 8 of 3 GB of ram, and it was on emui 5 and android 7.
Can update it, or it's not possible?
Thanks a lot.
Have you rooted your mate 8? If not, it's easy. Just go to Settings - Software update, check updating. Then you'll get an update via OTA.

No, it's not rooted. However, settings software update doesn't work. That says that I have the last update.

- Be sure you're not rooted.
- you can try update by firmware finder from market.
OR,,,
- maybe you need to moving from b180 to other version maybe you could get OTA update by downloading this L29C636B211 by dload method,,
Then check for OTA update again

[Q] Best way to upgrade to Oreo

My build number is WAS-LX3C605B186 EMUI 5.1. I want to update to Oreo and firmware finder has a PV update available among others but now I'm reading that firmware finder stopped working is this true? If so what is the most accepted method for upgrading? I'm still not getting the update through the official channels and I'd like to speed things up.
I think u have some minor update to B187 (as i had) then u can c ur emui 8 full update in system update

U need stock recovery partition(not twrp) so after minor update may not lose ur root but i lost my root after full update to emui 8 and bootloader locked again.
