Hi,
I've been trying to connect my A70 to my HTC Hero for internet tethering but it just doesn't work.
I've tried the following methods
1. USB
2. Bluetooth
3. wireless tethering (android wifi tethering)
num 1 doesn't detect my phone at all, num 2 can be paired as through BT but can't tether and for num 3, my A70 can't detect my HTC Hero as a hotspot, it can detect all others ard it but just not my HTC Hero.
I have another issue with connecting my thumbdrive and external card reader through the micro USB port.
I have a host adapter bought through ebay and i tried connecting my thumbdrive and card reader but there's no reaction from the A70 at all. my card reader has a LED light to indicate whether there's power and it was lit up when connected but the A70 just doesn't read it.
I've tried another way which is to connect a external HDD whcih i used a Y-cable and connected the other end to a power source to ensure there's enough power but again the A70 doesn't pickup anything.
I'm really getting frustrated with these issues cause these 2 features were the selling point to me when i bought the A70 and now i can't use it.
Appreciate if someone can shed some light on this.
thanks
For the USB issues, you may be using the wrong cable. You need to use a USB host cable in order to read a thumb drive or to use an Android (or other) phone's USB tether. The cord that comes with the A70 is a MicroUSB B connector; you need a MicroUSB A.
As far as the WiFi hotspot on your Hero, does the hero do only ad hoc WiFi? I know the Droid 1 does. You cannot (at this point, without rooting and rearranging some code) hook the Archos up to an ad hoc WiFi.
For bluetooth, you need to use Wireless Tether on your Android handset, but you have to have the app set for bluetooth. Get that set, pair the devices, and start the bluetooth tether on your Hero. Then, go into the Archos menu under Cell Phone Tethering and choose your Hero (should be under available devices). Hit tether and you're good to go.

...maybe. I have a rooted HTC Incredible with Wireless Tether installed. A70 works great with wifi (which is the better option anyway), but will not tether with bluetooth. It will pair, but the phone doesn't show up as an available device in the A70 tethering setup. There may be another bluetooth tether phone app that will work with my Inc, but Wireless Tether does not. There is even a disclaimer in the app about incompatibility with some phones.
Has anyone found any ROMS for the HD2 that actually work with Bluetooth PAN tethering using the app 'wireless tether' ?
I currently use Hyperdroid NAND but that only seems to work with Wifi tether or USB tether.
I'd ideally like to be able to use bluetooth PAN tethering as it will use less battery power but i can't find any ROMS that seem to support it?
any ideas folks?
Hi, got my A7 running great!! Dexters mod (1.41) works wonders - it's a great computer now!!!
I was wondering if there is any way to tether my A7 to my Verizon VX9200 ENV3 phone so I can use the phone to get to internet?
I have got the bluetooth paired on both.
Is there an app for that???
Would be great.
If not, can I tether it to my laptop and use the internet connection from there? I have a Verizon USB internet dongle, and can share the internet that way.
I do have the A7 paired with the laptop bluetooth.
Is there an app for that also?
Thanks for the info.
PS...I have a bluetooth GPS receiver on the way ... Holux 1200e....Will let you know soon.
Hey everyone.
I want to use my Droid Charge to bluetooth tether to my transformer. I use pdanet tablet now which works, but has a few downfalls that I would like to go around.
My charge is rooted, and the kernel has "CONFIG_BT_BNEP" in it, which as I understand should make the internet connect option available in a regular bluetooth link. Unfortunately, it does not have the connect option. Any ideas why or what else is needed?
any paid tethering app works for sprints lg g2?
Depends. Wireless no. Wired and bluetooth yes. Easy tether and clockwork seem to work. I've used easy tether bluetooth to my HP Touch pad. Need an app on the pc or tablet for easy tether.
