Seriously? Is that an actual question? That's just misogynist, it's like recommending a bunch of sports app or wallpapers with nekkid ladies for a guy.
So, some app suggestion :
- sex positions )
- camera 360 free
- ES file explorer
- MapDroyd (offline map)

thanks....the 1st one seems interesting
and last one is also good as she drives around
Since I am a chick myself, let me tell you what I use!
And by the way, I don't think your question was misogynistic.
I want to believe that you meant well for your girl!
*Aldiko, for e-books
*Color Drips, addictive bubble breaker game
*Doodle Jump, another game using the accelerometer, so funny!
*Math Alarm Clock, so that I can wake up and get better at math at the same time LOL
*SoundHound, way better than TrackID as you can even sing a tune and have it recognised
*Tapatalk Pro, for obvious reasons
*My Honey Days, well pretty much self-explanatory LOL
*Wet Daisy Analog Clock Widget, sooooooo cute
I've seen a menstrual calendar on there.
Bluetooth file transfer - is needed to receive and transfer all files u want!
better keyboard with pink keyboard theme, my gf loves it!
Here are some of the apps my gf uses are:
-Ourgroceries, very useful for creating shopping lists, even for different stores and also has a feature to send shopping lists to another android. oh and it has some kind of recipe thing where you enter a recipe and it will give you the list of ingredients needed.
-Jorte, a personal organiser
-My Days, a menstrual cycle app
My favourite might-be-girly-apps:
3 - pretty music player
Apps organizer - this one organizes my phone
Astrid tasks - this one organizes my life (girls just love getting organized, or what?)
CardioTrainer
Epicurious - recipies
FxCamera - take artistic photos
TV guide (channel options might be more relevant in Nordic countries)
Qype - find restaurants, coffee shops, etc near you
Some games:
2 player reactor - she'll love beating you
Bonsai blast
Flood-it
Replica island
Quadrapop

So my AT&T 8525 died around Christmas. I wanted to get a Touch Cruise, but the overseas inflated prices are KILLING me. So for the time being, I've gotten a Blackjack II and I'm waiting for the next big thing.
Yesterday, I went to an Apple store and played with an iPhone for about 15 minutes. The coolest things about it, IMHO...
1) The picture functionality - While turning the phone and watching the pic switch too is nice, and sliding between pics is excellent, what I REALLY like is spreading your fingers to zoom! That's amazing!!! Do any Win programs have that functionality?!?!?!?
2) The weather - Having the city, then the extended forcast is nice. But what I didn't realize before is you can add multiple cities and scroll between them with your figure... just like you can flip screen on a Touch! That was just sweet!
3) Google maps on my Blackjack II is nice, but Google Maps on a touchscreen phone just rules. And it feels so smooth on the iPhone, it's like it was MADE for it. Damn...
And I assume the video is smoother on the iPhone, especially watching YouTube videos... but I must admit I didn't try that.
If anyone knows of an app that lets you look at pictures like an iPhone... I'd LOVE to upgrade my old Sprint 6700 to WM6 and then use that phone to play with images until my figure falls off.

This is a multitouch screen thing, and no I don't believe there are any WM devices out with multitouch.

Uh...the version on the iPhone was made for it. There's a version for WM too that works just the same.
try the s2v program... (slide to view)... almost like the iphone picture app... this program is nice and its free... thanx to A_C for developing another great app... kudos....
there are tons upon tons of new photo viewing apps for WM, ever since the iPhone's release.
1)
S2V (Slide2View)
HTC Camera Album
PocketCM ImageViewer
PictureFlow
PocketCM "Even Nicer Flow Stuff" (no actual name, since it's a test)
2)tons upon tons of applications for weather, and many are skinnable. so although you probably can't get the slide, you can get some really great looking skins for apps like WeatherPanel. There's PhatPhinger, iPhone themes (looks like the iPhone's. no sliding, though), etc etc
3)Google Maps? Really? It's been out for ages for Palm and Windows Mobile. Shockingly to many, even before the iPhone came out.
http://www.google.com/gmm/index.html
There's even a maps application from Microsoft, Live Search, that is actually more fully featured than Google Maps, whether it's on WM or the iPhone. Just ignore that it's from Microsoft, it's actually a great app.

Any links to this app? Did a search here, as well as on Yahoo, but no dice.
i think i know why. it's because you're using yahoo instead of google
only kidding, to each his own. however, with google,
"slide to view" yields the correct result 6th
"slide2view" yields the correct result for the entire first page
and "s2v", yields 4th, 7th, & 8th
i'll give the benefit of the doubt, though, because "slide to view" doesn't show up anywhere when searching with yahoo or the Xda Search. you need that "2" in there, lol.

So you say you want a cup of Joe, or a MilkShake, or some other secret code word for a lil’ something in your PayPal account for your work, creativity and energy? Hey, this NEWBIE is all for it – hell, I’m glad to donate; but I be needed some help!
Where I’m at – right now, the Midwest USA, Omaha Nebraska to be specific.
Where I’m at with my phone / HH device – it is a work issued HTC Touch Pro. I’ve had it about 3 months now, Alltel is my carrier and it came with a CRAP boring, dull grey Theme that can’t be changed, allegedly, when I’m using the Touch Flo3D.
Work offers several carriers; Verizon guys with the same phone have a much cooler “stock” theme – and oh sure, I can mess with the Today setting and get some goop red called Guava Bubbles to linger above and below in the bands, but mostly, it really sucks. Plus, the damn thing is slow – I hit my 4 code password and 1 out of 4 times the damn thing says I have the wrong PW – no I don’t you beyotch, I KNOW my password. Weather? I can UbitchInStein in Upper Mongolia but not the town I grew up in, Boulder Colorado, WTF is up with that?
I know just enough about technology to be dangerous – I can find the ROM versions and all that stuff, navigate config files a little, copy files using Active Sync and so on – and hey, my RingTones rock (http://sites.google.com/site/bcwsite4now/Home/filecabine) I can strip the hell out of a DVD, edit using Adobe Premier Elements and you might laugh your ass off if you know the movie scenes.
But, for the life of me I can’t figure out this deal I downloaded called Manila Editor from Sascha Lange and Dimitry (you guys sound like Russian mob, please don’t kill me) - and now I’m reading this Manila Customizer - Customize Clocks, Icons, Sliders etc [1 Nov] New Version thread from Gramps or Grumps or the Gimp from Pulp Fiction (see Ringtone reference) above and it starts to look like I am getting close – Clocks, Icons, Sliders – hmm, that’s what I want, and really cool ones!!!
So I DL and UZ a bunch of stuff from some thread and now I have some cool looking graphics in a bunch of folders on my PC that look like they work together in a TouchFlo 3D setting, but I have no friggin idea how to get them from my hard drive to my phone without brickin’ the damn phone; remember, work issue phone. {http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2891202#post2891202}
Plus, over at PPC Geeks or some other board, they were all hot on some TouchFlo 3D speeder upper program and steps with a new Stock Market Watcher Icon using the 3G network and a better Weather app; so I PM a dude over there about 45 days ago and he tells me, “yo, newbie, read a bunch of stuff on Google and then PM me back; this is not for rookies.”
Dude, I have 3 kids, all under 6 and a wife who likes me to do dishes once in awhile, read a bunch of stuff on Google and THEN ask for help? No thanks, I’d rather pay your arse. So, the end of my story goes like this – who wants to help me and what is your price?
Can I make my own icons, sliders and clock graphics using PhotoShop or some other program? If so, what sizes should I aim for in each at what resolution? And, what the heck is a Manila anyway?
How do I get all the cool **** on my PC now to my phone? Say I wanted to pick one of the themes, I think, like Panosha Shine 2.2 on my phone and ditch Mister Alltel BoreMeToFngTearsGrey?
What can I do to speed this ***** up? Add the Stock Market Application, and make the Weather App a little bit more relevant to my small Midwest World?
My dream phone, and your personal challenge: A faster HTC Touch Pro with a rocking U2 theme in black, red and grey or white that snags icons from the album All That You Can’t Leave Behind or How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb and a cool clock that uses the font from the album War circa 1982 – hey, I’m old. It will run faster, smoother and have a better Weath App and at least some cool Stock Market app so I can freak out everyday 24/7 as my 401K goes to 187K!
If someone can make all that happen, Monster Milkshakes and Large Coffee all around!
Thanx for reading my rant. Enjoye the lame RingTones.
No PMs plz – email [email protected]
I'm sure everyone has their own opinion on this. They did a huge study on the greatest invention ever. You would think it would be the automobile or the electric light bulb. The invention that won, however, was the printing press - interesting.
MY FAVORITE:
Without a doubt, the greatest Android App IMHO is NANDROID. (Lol, I'm not even sure it is an "app" per se, or just a part of Recovery...)
It is the ultimate Mulligan. The perfect do-over. Ctrl-Z for flashaholics. We can try any new rom that comes along without risking a thing of the setup we KNOW we like.
That's mine, what's yours?
angry birds is mine....it makes the work day go by faster...lol
Pulse. Not only does it eliminate the need for a bunch other apps (Android Central, Engadget, other news...), but it is beautiful and intuitive. There really is no other app that has that level of quality IMHO.
PowerAMP is a close 2nd.

Wow...Pulse is awesome. Thanks for cluing me into it.
Mine are probably:
Angry Birds
Tapatalk
RockPlayer (for playing .avi and .mkv videos)
Winamp
LauncherPro Plus
for me its app brain as it allows you to keep your apps list in a text file to remain consistent from flash to flash.
Pandora Radio. I use it everywhere. While I'm playing Xbox, while I'm driving, while I'm pooping, while I'm eating, plus I use it on every platform.
I never heard of Pulse before. The guys behind this did a great job. Best news app I've ever seen.
For RSS feeds you can't beat Newsrob. Not a fan of Pulse - too busy for me.
My rss reader of choice is Feedr, but app I can't live without goes to LauncherPro plus
Got to agree with th OP on "nandroid"... it was the only reason I rooted in the first place. But like the OP said, not to sure it counts as an app.
With that in mind..... LauncherPro(free), Launcher-X Pro, Switch Pro, mClock and BattStat..... hmmm.... there all just widgets. They court as apps right?
If not.... Mixzing, CardAce: Hold'em and Docs ToGo.
My top twp apps are:
Xiia player - steaming radio, best out of the few available, better than Pandora because IMHO the bit rate Pandora runs sucks ass, sounds like 24kbs mono to me. You can easily find commercial free internet radio like chronix.
Swarm - very nice torrent client.
Facebook! Just sayin'!
I thought pulse was awesome until google reader officially launched the app, I think it's much more functional than pulse though it's not at all stylish, but from a reader I just care about the content, and it's delivered nicely with the reader app.
I have a finite set of apps that I'd call best. As far as making my life easier, Titanium Backup (pro) is just wonderful. I've found myself restoring and backing up apps as I like to flash often. And it restores everything about the app, so I don't have to worry about missing stuff on a restore.
Also launcher pro has helped the convenience of using my phone. I trimmed the screens down to three and have two docks and just use folders so when I use my phone I'm not fiddling around with screens but getting exactly what I need.

Titanium Backup(pro) is number one easily in my book. hell I'm using it right now! I have most of the time around a hundred apps and its made flashing new roms way less painless
I'd say there are a lot of better apps but I end up using Klondike solitaire the most.

TeamViewer > all remote desktop apps.
Mine would have to be "mikandi"
Sent from the MATRIX... while plugged into my EVO... using the XDA app... from a galaxy far-far away.......
If Nandroid counts it's number one, with Titanium Backup a distant second. Without these two apps there'd be a lot less rooted phones and active rom flashing, as others have mentioned.
TB isn't my greatest app ever pick since its primary use (for me at least) is backing up all apps + data before changing roms, which again I would only occasionally do were it not for Nandroid. To be a truly great app, a program needs to extend the functionality of your phone in a way that creates a valuable new function or enhances an existing one already on your phone, making it a more essential tool in your life and possibly replacing others you currently use.
The first app I bought was LauncherPro. I've tried most of the competition, and LP is the best for my needs. It's awesome but greatest app ever? I have a feeling that many of these features will eventually end up incorporated into Android.
"Pic to pdf" type apps are pretty amazing. Yes, you can do each step individually with other apps and share the same end-product, but in less than a minute I can open CamScanner, create and then upload a finished work order to Google Docs. I purchased CamScanner after trying them all last month, it has the features I need for my job and is already saving me a lot of time.
Final answer: the Google Search widget. Is that cheating? I get access to almost anything with one button press and voice input, from sending texts to maps/navigation to a comprehensive search that searches pretty much anything you want including apps, email, calendar, voicemail, texts, the web, etc. Can anything alse compare?
subsonic is nice too
i was gonna say rom manager.
Hey guys,
I thought I'd drop by and say hi to everyone, you'll be seeing me here more often - just picked up my Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G from the store - totally loving it. I used to own the Galaxy Tab 7" previously, I sold that for this.

Once again, Great to know you'll

here's a tip for you;
When I got my 10.1 (day after launch) I was at first disappointed at the "lack of apps" for it but that disappointment was unfounded BECAUSE, I should NOT look for tablet specific apps which is unimportant....just look for apps because they don't have to be "tablet specific" to work, work well and look great on your device.
I now have more apps than I have space (16GB)
enjoy your 10.1
Thanks a lot Jon,
To be honest, I've been lurking around in this forum for quite some time now, I've understood that most apps are actually optimized for honeycomb just that they don't mention it !
Lack of apps is of least concerns to me, apps for honeycomb keep growing, I also feel they'll be loads of new apps in the coming months !
Thanks a lot for the warm welcome !
Cheers

Welcome. There are many apps out, but these are some of my favorites.
Thumb Keyboard. Makes typing a breeze. I also like the new text shortcuts button. Great for entering common words and phrases.
ADW Launcher EX. Faster than the Honeycomb Launcher. I really like the bottom dock as well.
Screen Off and Lock. I have it on the bottom dock of my home screen. Don't have to use the power button all the time.

are there any apps that are wanted?
i'm a developer who recently got a 10.1 and would like to know what kind of apps there are demand for for honeycomb optimization
Would love, love, love a sports live scores app. Especially baseball. Right now the only ones out there are phone versions which only work in portrait mode and the text is teeny tiny. Can't wait for MLB At Bat to get tablet-ized (hoping it does anyway!). The only tablet version apps I really miss are some of the biggies like Yelp and TripAdvisor.
Welcome. I will second the thumb keyboard (life saver) and the adw ex launcher. Many forums here will help you set it up.
I would also like to suggest the following.
Multipicture Live Wallpaper- honeycomb crops wallpaper horribly, this fixes that and you can have more than one wallpaper.
Some good Widgets are wizz widgets, android pro widgets, HD Widgets, desktop vizualizer, folder organizer lite, and minimilistic text (although have fun- I needed you tube videos for this one.
As for apps I like- pulse for greader, xda premium, dropbox, folder organizer hd, Pandora, tune in radio and Netflix. (Which you have to side load-again other forums for those directions)
Have fun with it and kiss time goodbye due to customizing.

As far as games go, I am addicted to the labyrinth games. My fave is Atilt 3D Labyrinth (by Fridgecat). There is a free version for it. Also, there is a similar game called Labyrinth (by Illusion Labs) and a free version called Labyrinth lite.

P.S. Should I root my tablet now? any particular plus point in doing so - I am quite familiar with rooting, all my other Android devices are rooted. Just curious how it helps in Honeycomb.
Root would be good for using a ps3 controller for MAME / Genesis / Snes roms (which mostly work like a dream - check out jrioni arcade and gensoid etc.) I haven't done this yet but its getting more and more tempting.
Re ADW: does it run as fast as touchwiz? I was put off by reviews saying it was laggy... cheers

Adw ex runs on top of touchwiz. You don't get rid of touchwiz. Its as simple as an app. You don't like it, uninstall it. I believe all the launchers have a lite version so you can check it out to see if you like it. Mostly you pay so you can resize Widgets and icons and download themes. Adw ex and launcher pro are the two that I have tried, Alot less lag, almost none at all. Wish Google would try one out so they could improve stock.

Hi All,
Many of you are coming from the likes of the Note 2 (or even the original Note) but I'm sure there's plenty like me that are new to the phablet scene and definitely new to the S-Pen scene. So it seems appropriate to start a thread asking people - what apps do you recommend to use with your shiny new device? Going beyond the usual recommended android apps, what ones do you feel really make use of the Note's features (such as the pen, or the massive screen or whatever).
Please, suggest away!
handy note and handy scanner dude
I would of said sketchbook, however they have nicely included that with the device now! It's a brilliant app for getting your artist on!
I'd also suggest emulators for games as the big screen is certainly easier than the smaller devices out there! Drastic DS emulator has arrived on the play store recently.. It's abut £5 but imo worth its price tag, it allows you to play Nintendo DS games (Roms) really fluid and of course with the s-pen!! ! If you was a fan of the old Zelda games etc this gives you a change to play catch ups wit the latest outings of Link.
Netflix
SwiftKey - Brilliant keyboard replacement that I feel that corrects a lot more reliable than stock.
Spotify - Free 48 Hour trial of millions of music tracks (You can keep creating a trial account, in theory not actually pay.. But you'll end up in love with your play list you've mashed together and just pay the sub (what happened to me).
Go Sms pro - again a nicer more configurable Sms /mms replacement of stock app. Also includes a go Sms to go Sms feature where you can send pics, doodles, recordings, videos to anyone with gosms installed for free.
If you live in the UK *** 0800 wizard. Allows you to dial 0800/0844 numbers using your network minutes.
Order and chaos - MMO game, works really well with the big screen and adreno 330... Similar to world of war craft.
Es file Explorer - allows you to browse the memory on your phone/SD card memory a lot easier.
Be great if people added their favourite apps into this thread... Nothing beats a good app download session
