go into your comm manager and select Bluetooth in the next menu click on the gears and you will see where to make it discoverable.
In your settings folder is an icon for bluetooth, click that and it will ask you to turn on bt (click yes). On the following screen, just switch to the settings tab (the gears in the top left), the settings you're looking for are there.
EDIT: this is the same thing that quickdraw mcgraw up there () suggested, just a different path to get there.

Hi, I'm going to be setting some of these phone up for business, and have decided that we don't want the users to have access to the bluetooth functionality. I would like a way of removing/Hiding bluetooth (or at least the icons for it) so the users cannot easily re-enable it.
Anyone know how this could be done?
Thanks
Hi,
Hope your customers wont visit this forum
Ok, open your registry editor and delete the following branches:
1. A 'BT hardware not found' message will be shown at each attempt to enable Bluetooth
DELETE:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth]
2. BT icon removal
DELETE:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTIcon]
3. BT shortcuts (optional)
Add int-type (number) value "Hide" with "1" as its data value to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Bluetooth]
and create "HKLM\ControlPanel\MyCpl\Bluetooth Settings" key & add int-type value "Enable" with "0" as its data
Thanks for that SP, i've got some of it working: I've tried all three things you listed
I have removed the 'tray icon' from the front screen at the bottom, and also removed the icon from settings->connections.
However I still seem to have the 'Blue tooth headset mode' icon on the front screen and the Bluetooth Settings Icon in settings->system. Any ideas on how to remove these?
Thanks for any help
all items in settings are cpl files in the windows dir
see if you can delete the cpl file which is named something like bluetooth
about the today item then there is also a place in the reg's where they are handled as in which ones are display'd on the list you can check or uncheck
but why remove bluetooth ?
it's not like they cant just install it themselfs
unless you mess with the extented rom they will get their bluetooth back after next hardreset
education may be cheaper than trying to turn the bluetooth off.
Faking users...

Try this utility. It does aforementioned PLUS disables headset mode on Today screen
To prevent BT enabling over hard-resets replace your original TPEnable.exe with this one. Don't forget to unlock your extended ROM first
ps: 'BT Settings' shortcut is a HTC-specific one and can't be removed easily
What danger do they pose by having Bluetooth?
BlueJacking?
if they are mobile, some may need it for headsets???
Thanks SP! that works really, well, and with BT disabled, I can live with the one icon left in system. I'm not going to alter the extended rom, as the only people who should be doing the hard resets are the tech support team.
Do you have the registry entries for removing the bluetooth headset item from the today screen?

You're welcome!
Here it is:
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items\Profile]
And leave this one:
[HKLM\ControlPanel\MyCpl\Bluetooth Settings:Enable] = 0
Maybe HTC will revise their code & fix the bug in the future, so the following will work then and will disable 'BT Settings'
Anyone knows how to make the shortcut on the desktop for the "wireless stereo" for the BT headset to turn it on and off in WM6?
Right now I have to:
1. Open Comm Manager
2. Click settings
3. Choose Bluetooth
4. Choose headset from the list (in my case S705)
5. Tick/untick Wireless Stereo
6. Tap Save
7. Close "Settings"
8. Close Comm Manager
UFFF.
Any way to do it in one tap???? Toggle ON, OFF????
Here you have solution.Very nice and good working program remainding icon from WM2003:

Unfortunately not...
I have tested this application and unfortunately it does everything except what I really want - You can not control the "wireless stereo" ON/Off with it. - Under WM6 on Athena the Audio2BT turns on voice recognition, Audio2Device does nothing.
Options below work ok - audio GWCC_on, and Radio GWCC off

Download and install Advanced Configuration.
Click Menu then select More Settings and then select Comm Manager.
Here you can select what items you want in the comm manager.

Unfortunatley this comm manager tab does nothing on my HD (also reported by other useres).....used to work fine on Diamond etc.
Anyway, the obvious but long way round would be (translated from German ROM): Start>Settings>Phone>Band>GSM

I have the same problem. Any solution?
I get exactly the same problem. After searching maaaaaaany topics and forums it seems that band selection (3g-gsm switch) is managed by bandsel.exe or adminsettings.exe (in windows repertory). On HD you have neither of these. So on HD band selection is managed by another exe ... if someone can figure out witch exe it is, it should be quite easy to patch registry, in order to call this exe in comm manager.
hope you understood (I'm not very comfortable with english).
I have also tried to turn off 3G in the comm manager with no success. I like to turn it off most of the time as it saves battery when not having to search for a 3G signal. Has anyone found a way to disable 3G access on the HD, but leave GRPS enabled?
Try this Start -> Settings -> Phone -> Band -> choose GSM in the upper dropdown menu leave the other on auto.
With this setting you will have gsm and gprs/edge available but no 3G

this was the first thing i tried. no luck! grayed...
It appears that if the PHONE setting is not displayed (the least useful switch if you ask me) then the DATA CONNECTIONS and 3G tabs will bevgreyed out an inaccessible.
Having said that, turning off data connection seems to be useless. It turns itself on the moment Opera or anything tries to access the net. I haven't tried it roaming yet but am going abroad next week so will update then.
I don't see the option in Advanced Config 3.3.
Any solution yet how to get 3G into the Comm Manager?
It's not in the regular options. Got to MENU (right soft key) then MORE SETTINGS then COMM MANAGER
Perhaps we need a 10 Button Manager
This is why it would be SOOOOO useful to have the old 10 button manager back from the Hermes days, just like the thread I started 14 Dec 08, but got no-where....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459270
Just wish Schaps or some one would be able to help out and create a new 10 button manager and resolve ALL our issues.
Thank you, but doesn't work for me also. I need an option to change 3G to GPRS...
Hi!
In order that it works 3G in CommManager it is necessary to add a few values in the register.
I detail the steps, if you want to do it.
To enable 3G I have replaced it with Direct Push option, because I do not use her, but it can be for any different.
First we change the option "Direct Push" for "3G":
You should accede to the key of the register "\HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\4" and to change the value "AUTD" that appears in "(default)" for "3G".
Now we have to add two values in the register in order that on having clic in the CommManager on the option of 3G, it should change GSM to 3G:
You should accede to the key of the register "\HKLM\Software\OEM\UMTS" and to add the following values (DWORD):
"PrefDomain" value decimal "2"
"PrefRAT" value decimal "1"
Bye and good luck !
Sento
PD: I apologise for my english
ok guys, there is an easy way to do this as AllTheWay stated earlier. Simply use Advanced Config V3.3
Go to Menu (right soft key) > More Settings > Comm Manager and then simply choose which settings you want
See attached screenshot

Last nite, while exploring settings, I found bt profiles which let me choose among many auto answer options:
- when bt connected
- when bt + headset connected
- when wired connected
- when ...
But now I can't find those settings anymore: where are they ???
