I bought my HTC Legend online but I discovered it was built for the Czech Rep. but Australia, so when I set Language I don't see any for English (Australia).
So should I be worried about this? and what effect does say English (Poland) have on Android apps etc..
Should I try and fix this using a custom ROM or stick with the Stock ROM.

Hi there, I am thinking of changing my ROM to the official Asian 1.66 as it has Chinese support built in and I wont have to bloat out my phone with heaps of fonts, apps and progs to be able to read and type in Chinese (simplified)... (I currently use ce star and touchpal & Sogou ime)... can anyone tell me if the date/day is in Chinese while the menus etc can be in English... thanks
Can no one take a screen shot to show me if the calendar dates/days show in Chinese or not... I can do this in the stock 1.66 if I use CE Star and change the region to China... but if the asian roms can do this then voila, I wont have to bloat the phone with all the other third party apps I have to make it work... cheers
rom for 1.66 asian calander still in english.

thanks for the info... sigh, will stick to my wwe rom for now then...
all you need is to change the locale regional settings to chinese, then the date and calendar will display in chinese.
i find it funny that asian version rom only contains english and chinese languages..
because asia has so many different countries just like europe. however each individual country dont get its own roms like they do in europe. and HTC assumes all asians either speak english or chinese.. which is a poor assumption, since there are many asian countries using the Asian Rom, not being able to even SMS or type in their own language on a phone they buy from the shops !!
Installed am Czech language everything with no errors!!!!
Instalation manual:
1.instal cab. opencz_settings.......
2.instal cab. htc_proton_wm...
3.restart phone
4.Selection language
5.instal language
what languages does it contain, please?
already I don't know exactly
Czech,Poland,Romania,EN,Slovak
Are you sure that this is working ?
yes yes on 100%. personally use.
CZ language is perfect but i have problem ...I canĀ“t send MMS after patched
no problem language czech.good seting mms ?
FYI every HD mini ever being sold in Czech Republic already contains Czech language by default (unless bought in other country), theres no reason to do this harakirri, simply choose Czech language instead of English by first time HTC Sense setup, same goes for whole eastern Europe, Poland, Slovak, Hungarian, Slovenian etc etc. If you bought the phone and it already was preinstalled in english, simply run the Sense setup again and choose whatever language u want, its not a matter of phone being localized or not but a matter of HTC Sense being localized. I've sold hundrets of these phones and every single piece had it.
I've just installed PL, works fine, thanks. However I've noticed few bugs. Would you mind giving suggestion how can I edit PL file and correct it? I'd appreciate it. thanks a lot.

I want to load it onto my phone before bringing it to warranty service.

Seems you had Polish before or list not blocked.
OK. I did research and i know, that Polish is inside ROMs but blocked in the list.
How to unlock language list?(not by LOCALESWITCH but permanently)
Hi, I have this problem too. Please help
How can I unlock polish language?
I've got it All you need is instal "more locale 2" from market a choose a polish language
Hi,
I recently purchased my new HTC Desire HD from MobiCity (an Australian company) and received it yesterday.
I note that the only Locales available on my phone are:
English (Bahrain)
English (Jordan)
English (Kuwait)
English (Lebanon)
English (Qatar)
I would like to know how to select English (Australia). I assume I have to load something but not sure how to do it. I have found the keyboard predictive text is not as accurate as my Hero and I assume it's because of the Language pack. The prices in the marketplace are also not set to AUD.
I have been able to download MoreLocale2 from the market to select Australia, but it seems weird I need to install an app just to use the correct language.
I would like to be able to select from English (Australia), English (United States) and English (United Kingdom).
Regards
Kev

Ask them why are they selling a Middle East Asia version of the phone. For example i bought a Central European version (because i live in Central Europe ), so i have English in following versions - Czech, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia. In short - you need a australian version of the phone to have English (Australia).

I suspected that may be the issue.
I have lodged a support ticket with MobiCity, but I suspect they will not be that helpful. I was hoping there would be a ROM on HTC Australia site that I could use to flash the phone, but alas, no luck there either.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824357 ?
Do I need all the files or one in particular ?
Are these Stock HTC ROM's ? My phone is 2 days old, I don't want to brick it.
Well, you should ask in that thread, or the uploader . But that is probably what you want.
I have a Trophy which has received the Nodo update via Zune. It is a SIM-free version, so has no carrier branding. Since I have had the phone, I have been unable to select UK English as a keyboard language - I have German, Italian, Spanish, the three French choices and English (US), but no English (UK). This causes problems with auto-correct and spelling.
I am wondering if this can be fixed by flashing an appropriate ROM. At present I have 1.20.401.00 (FW 2250.09.12000.401). Previously I had flashed the 7389 HTC Europe ROM - that did not enable any additional languages.
Incidentally, I did raise this as a fault with HTC - their response was to return the phone for service but they could not confirm whether this was a general fault or even if returning the phone would mean I would get it back fixed. As it would mean days without a phone I didn't bother to take up their offer because they couldn't guarantee me a fix.
