hahaha plus don't you need hardware to run it from your home too?

Suppose it depends on how much you actually use it.
For the MLB season where MLB has basically blocked the ability to watch your local team when you are not at home, it is worth the $$$. It was the original reason why I got it back when I had a WM device.
Use it a lot of other TV watching when needed, or more accurately for someone with me to view while stuck somewhere.
With it, I can see anything that I can when I am at home without any restrictions.
Paid $$$ for the phone, this is just a little extra that I can use both with the phone and notebook/desktop etc..

Revue from Smith Micro Software Incredible

Hi!
I have just seen this amazing program.
http://www.smithmicro.com/default.tpl?group=product_full&sku=QLMCWXX
To see photo, video and play music.
Bad news, we have to pay if we want to see it.
I am searching but...no free?
Do you like??
I want it!! free, of course.
$30? LOL
I'll wait until someone on this site codes a clone for free.
Nice stuff though.... but not nice enough to shell out $30.
well, you should brake into a car or someone's house and steal their phones. maybe someone has it on their device....
...so stupid.

It is pretty stupid that they don't offer a free trial download to try it out. I'm definitely not going to pay $30 for something that I don't even know what it's like. No thank you.

Maybe its because they don't want people to rip off their product without paying for it.

i don't know about this "revue software" and the description of what it does is not very clear to me, but i have tested another tool that does the same thing (i suppose. i'm french so my english is not perfect) named trakax on a htc vox and it seemed fairly good for a slow device (200 cpu) and non-tactile.
it should be very cool on a decent pdaphone with good cpu.
go here : http://www.trakax.com/software/mobile/
it costs 30 again, but you have a free demo to test it.

I agree, it may be difficult, but when you see someone asking for a copy of a retail piece of software on here, insisting they have it for free, (as if that's a right), then find a near identical request on a warez site asking for the crack for the same software, its not difficult to see where that activity would lead to if we all took that stance.
WB
I don't have a problem paying for the apps that we use on our devices and i'm willing to pay a whole helluva' lot more but we should @ least have the trial option to see if it's worth it or even if its compatible with our devices. Most developers give you that trial because they stand by their product and they know it'll sell itself once the word gets out, so maybe them not giving a trial offer says something about their product. Just my opinion.
I've done trials of and loved:
Resco Exlorer
Memmaid
AEButton
Ultimate Launcher
Vito Screen Capture
Phone Weaver
...And paid for:
Resco
Memaid
AEButton
UL
Vito
Phone Weaver
It wouldn't even occur to me to use a cracked copy. Weird since I've used warez for some windows PC software, but being on a forum like this you see how the programmers are good people, just like me (only smarter) and it puts a face to the theft and I wouldn't consider doing it. Now I don't do cracked stuff for PC software either. I guess its part of growing up.
Anyway, I think there are a lot of ppl like me that if they like a trial they will be HAPPY to buy it.
I have just found this video!
Hi
I found a video of Revue.
It seems to be fantastic even with an application to manage the files with the PC!
http://my.smithmicro.com/wireless/revue/Revue324_121807_OffLn.wmv
I want to test this program for my HTC Touch, but I canĀ“t download it from anywhere.
Anyone has this program?
Can you tell me if it is fast and useful?
Anyone knows where can I download Revue?
Thank YOU ALL
I just took a quick glance at the site you listed and looks like something I used to use on my Palm, I think you can use this for free, don't completely remember, but know I never paid for it. I remember now, you have to keep your pc online and you can access it for free, think that was the deal, and you had to pay to store your files online to access them while your pc was offline.
Anyway to the point its Avvenu, check it out.
Log Me In may be the same.
Caragato!!
Please NOT SPAM HERE!!!
So is this basically streaming media from your computer but with lots of organization options?
How is it not like Orb?
It is a finger friendly software just like iphone to see media on our pocketpc.

Man, I thought Verizon was the only ones with a TV-like service, because they advertised the hell out of the feature when it first came out...This is great news!
Do you have to be on Sprint to watch this TV? Mobi TV works and Im on BELL lolz.

Yes, you have to be a Sprint customer. It stopped working earlier this year because Sprint was cracking down on people using it on other networks, mainly Verizon and AT&T.
flyers2114, I'm also using no2chem 2.1 and your attached Sprint TV cab locks up the phone. Do you have another cab I can try? Do you have Sprint TV working on no2chem 2.1? Thanks for your time.

So, I installed this cab, but if I suscribe, do I have to pay monthly for this? or is it like the now dead mobitv?
thank man!
If you don't have Sprint TV on your account with Sprint, you'll be limited to the free access channels.
Sprint's next firmware update for the Mogul will have official Sprint TV support. All the hacks out there right now are buggy, depending on what firmware you have.
before i risk a lockup and wasted space, what channels are available on the free access sprint tv deal?
i'm a sprint customer but not willing to spend any more $ with them.
thanks in advance
tv not playing
i downloaded the cab file and installed it, it runs perfectly until you try to watch a selection... then the screen goes black like its trying to play, but nothing comes in the screen... then if you tap the screen, it goes back to the channel listing... any ideas? thanks guys!
Quick word of warning, I tried some of the free channels, but still got billed $7.95 today for the "premium package", so be careful what you do. At no point did the app say I'd be subscribing to anything...
Hey Scott, what plan do you have with Sprint? I wanted to try this since I have unlimited data, but if you have it too, then maybe I won't try.
well i have the everything plan so i dont get charged for mostly anything i do on my phone but sprint tv IS a pay as you go type of option so if its not already included in your plan chances are some way some how sprint will find a way to catch you and bill you we all know how they are

mine lets me watch some of the entertainment previews, but nothing else. when i click on the free channels (foxsports, nfl, etc.) is just says no subscription info available. i am using the 3.56 ROM that just came out that had sprint tv on it.

$50 Media Hub credit for those who ordered prior to 10/31!!!

http://forum.androidcentral.com/sprint-epic-4g/44376-free-50-media-hub-credit-epic-users.html
I confirm that it works.
Mediahub blows. I tried it once and bought a Tosh.O episode and midway through the encoding on the video was jacked up. Picture went unviewable and the player stopped. I was forced to hunt and peck on the timeline to resume after the botched section of the video.
Never touched it again after that. Besides, content is overpriced.

This simply confirms my theory that you can give every body gold bars and some people will still complain that they didn't get silver or platinum.
I have my code and it's a nice way to get folks to try out the features. Perfect for a plane ride, or better yet, a delay.
Thank you OP. I was a little pissed that I couldn't get my $50 when I heard about this promotion. I don't care if the content is crappy, it should pass by slow nights on IT call.
Good luck with mediahub, folks.
With bittorrent, any price above $0 for broadcast entertainment is overpriced, to me. I get all -- 100% -- of my TV via bittorrent downloads, and virtually always available before anything shows on commercial pay-for-media methods.
Now, with bittorrent clients available for android itself, you can eliminate the step of having to first download to your PC, then transfer to your phone. Just as convenient as MediaHub.
In fact, even more so. Set up an RSS feed from EZTV, PBay, or other torrent aggregators, and you're phone will grab your favorite show as soon as the torrent is available -- again, usually within a few hours of airing.
Finally, with tasker you can set things up to only download when there is a wifi connection, saving you from on-air data charges.
That's how I've got all this set up -- I see no reason to use MediaHub at all.

Ads = profit for companies and payment for actors = incentive for them to make more stuff.
I'll pay for media, though I am not against downloading somethings. But non the less cheap bastards DO ruin industries. "Oh its just me and my $10 bucks, they won't miss it" Eventually with enough people it adds up and they will miss it. Not to mention I personally know people who have had homes raided by FBI over stuff like that.

Agree content is absurdly overpriced, still I sold two of my free $50 codes for $20 a piece, $40 in my pocket for 5 minutes work.

Ill have you know sir, that downloading TV shows online, through whatever medium, is not considered illegal filesharing. A judge ruled that sharing TV shows over the internet is the same as giving someone a VHS tape back in the day. It is not illegal and can be distributed anyway the people who record it please. Be it hard mediums or digital. Now, if one were to say download a DVD copy, THAT would be copyright infringement, but we are talking about downloading 0 day shows from EZTV - which is perfectly well within your right to do.

Can you provide us with the source for the ruling? I have followed this issue for a long time but never heard of such ruling.
How about uploading TV shows, which is what torrent does? Isn't it illegal to upload files, if you don't have copyrights?

thanks alot of the info. i was just looking at logmein and dropbox the other day and was thinking about it, but this is a sweet deal. i don't know if it's the same kind of service. but i think it's better for me to have access to my entire computer, then have to upload it to dropbox, and logmein seems more to just viewing and sharing screen content. so this seem like a great idea. thanks alot OP..
I got one so may have to set it up and see what happens!
On their website there is a Pogoplug hard drive. Is that a good thing to buy for this?
>On their website there is a Pogoplug hard drive. Is that a good thing to buy for this?
Pogoplug used to be a hardware/software product. It's morphed to a software app that can be installed on your PC. It is a file/media sharing solution that can be accessed across the net, or within your home network. The diff with DropBox is that you're the host, so you have unlimited storage, but are limited by your broadband upload speed.
The free version can't stream movies. For that, there is the premium version ($29). The above offer is for a free license to said premium version. You can of course buy their hardware, but there is no reason to.
Let me know when the offer is dead, and I'll amend the OP.
the party is over. my co-worker just try getting a license, and they have reach the cap. but they are offering $10 off, so yoy can still get in on the action for $20. but nothing is better then FREE..so thanks again.
by the way those who already have a license, you can download this to as many computers as you want. using the same License code, AS LONG AS IT IS UNDER THE SAME ACCOUNT. in other words, you can put it on your mac, on your pc, on your job computer, on your girlfriend pc or mac, as long as they all log in under your same email you use to sign up. the only down part to this is it has to either be your computer or someone you trust, becasue they will have access to all the files on every computer that you are sharing.
so as long as you keep your porn collection out of the share folder, you can have you wife log in under your account. lol

Remote Desktop & Remote Android - Anroid

Hi all,
I have a weird requirement.
I have a Galaxy Note 4.
1. I installed gotomypc app and gotomypc software on my work laptop and my Galaxy Note 4 and I can browse my Home laptop when I'm outside.
Similarly, is there any app, which I can install on my Galaxy Note 4 and remote control my another Verizon Galaxy S5 Phone in my home?
I want to just do everything, like I do when I connect via gotomypc software to my laptop from my Phone or Work Laptop.
I don't mind paying monthly fee for this app, if there is a subscription fees. Just like for gotomypc, I pay $9.95/ Month.
Thank You for Your suggestions.

You can install a VNC client on your Note 4 and install this app on your S5. I haven't done this from one phone to another but it definitely works for me running a VNC client from my PC and remote controlling a phone. I used it to connect to my LG Optimus L9 many, many times. It's a one-time cost of $10.
Splash top, log me in, vnc, to name but a few.
Not too sure about phone to phone.
Phone to PC works, have no idea why you would want to control another phone unless it was to snoop, there are other apps out there for stuff like that, don't know if xda promotes stuff like that though
Actually Teamviewer is free for personal use
