Droidwall on the Incredible - Droid Incredible General

Has anyone with a rooted Incredible been able to get Droidwall working? Last I'd read was that the Anrdroid 2.1 kernel didn't have iptable enabled so a custom kernel would be required. Where could more info on this be found? Thanks!

[q] 2.2.1 ota & roms

I have a quick noob question here and I apologize if there is a post on this. I have a rooted DX running the stock rom currently OC'd at ULV 1.2Ghz, I have previously ran fission and rubix roms and loved them both. My question is concerning any future pushes;
I do not want to receive the new OTA until a full SBF is leaked, will these roms disable the ota push. I know that when you attempt to check for updates it does nothing, does this also mean that when it is pushed from verizon that it will not even notify/recognize the update? I am a bit concerned about have a DX bricked edition.
also has anyone had issues using jrummy overclock app on fission 2.1 I was getting frequent reboots when even attempting ulv at 1Ghz however on the stock rom I can reach much faster at the same voltage.

From my experience with the last OTA, you will not be able to receive the next OTA update if you are running a ROM, theme, or have removed certain required apps. You should always make a nandroid right after any SBF, or upgrade, and be wary of updating to any release that doesn't have a full SBF available, just-in-case.
While I do have the Jrummy OC app, I haven't found a need to OC much yet, so someone else may be able to point you to a thread that has good info on that.
Thanks, I appreciate it.

Yeah, Jrummy's apps aren't stable for my DX 2.2. The best, most reliable, and simplest OC app has been D2/DX overclock on the market.

Z4root with EA28

Does Z4root work with new build EA28? Also my only intent to root is to control cpu speed with setcpu and backup with titanium backup. No custom rom or clockworkmod. Is it even worth it? Coming from OG Droid. Thx.

You'll need a custom kernel to oc/uc... And I don't believe z4 works with anything beyond DI01
Thx. Do I need cwm to install a custom kernel or can I do it without it. Any other one click root app that will work, no computer required?

[Q] strange root issues

Hi all, I am having root issues, my phone is obvioulsy rooted as I would not be able to flash a custom rom, however I do not have root access, if I try to install an app that requires root access I get errors saying I do not have permissions, now I have tried all the different ways to gain access, including z4root, gingerbreak, visionary temp root and the indepth abd rage root, none of these succeed, I figure updating the roms using clockwork so I do not lose my settings must have something to do with it as I must had had root access once because superuser had two apps in there, droid overclock was one.
I am running JW MIUI 1.5.20 rom (great rom by the way) and I am wondering what any of you think would be the next step? do I do a complete wipe and start again? I dont want to to be honest as it means setting everything up again.
Thanks in advance.
is there anyone out there that can offer some advice??
What rom do you have installed?

Wifi Tether on .596 (GB Official Rooted)

I've already done a search of the forums and haven't found a solid answer. I thought I was close once but the file link was deleted.
Goal: Wifi Tether free from Verizon's grasp on rooted official GB .596
I've seen threads where users report that The Black Hat patch works. Problem is the link is broken and I'm skeptical about the Google Search results.
If anyone can confirm a working method, you'd make my weekend.
Thanks to the best forum on the interwebs!
I am on Gb liberty v.08 and i can wireless tether fine. What app are you trying to tether with? The stock one? Or Wireless tether for root users? Pm me for help

[Q] Any Kernels that work with R800x?

I have an R800X (Verizon) PLAY. Running 2.3.3 with root and unlocked kernel. My phones build number is 3.0.1.E.0.88 and I was wondering if there is a custom kernel that allows Clockwork Recovery with overclock? If not then just a kernel with clockwork recovery would be good to. I really hate having to plug my phone into my PC whenever I want to do something. Thank you all in advance.
dont double post in 2 sections....-_-
Sorry, posted in Developement then thought it would be better to post here. Duly noted.
