I noticed the Milestone/Droid running firmware 2.0.1 (or perhaps even later) has a equalizer app. What is it exactly and can it be ported to other devices? It would be awesome to have this Android wide (specifically on my Desire )

Won't install to Telus Hero
any way to install this app to HTC Hero I keep getting an error message saying this app cannot be installed on this phone.
testing on galaxy s *vibrant*
installs just fine on tmobile vibrant will test out
Thanks
no difference on my epic
it doesn't work on my Samsung Galaxy spica
Installed to telus hero running 2.1
I think this app is incompatible with android 1.x it's minimum firmware requirements are 2.x, because I installed it no problem to my updated hero, it works but I can only hear a slight difference in the sound when changing eqs and the surround effects are very faint, it seems that a certain hack is required for it to actually work.

If you wants to litsen music with equaliz mode. then you can try Power Amp.....it's Great......
For it to work you need the Libaudioflinger.so from system/lib/ as far as I know, so you should try and see if it works after, but make a nandroid backup just in case it boot loops
Installed on my HTC EVO Shift. Seems to work. Will test in car tomorrow. Might just be a placebo effect.
Seems to work on my EVO Shift. Sound and volume much better.

...good luck with this.
If this was when it was first released, sure. Not likely now though.
Maybe if you add like $400 on top of the HD2, LOL
Keep it and put Froyo on it?
I have a question about putting android on HD2. How successful and stable is this with Froyo?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Really successful, really stable, and really good benchmarks! Better than Nexus One. And the videos look really smooth! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754675
Another query is what about battery performance? Given i think its only a 1250mah battery. I owned the HD2 in january but sent it back after a week due to it not being satisfactory. Battery life on windows 6.5 was really poor. What do you think?

just put froyo on it... it honestly feels the same except a bigger screen
My buddy has an hd2 and with froyo running he said his bat life is baddd.

One reason not to get one if this is the case. Anymore users out there that have put Froyo on there HD2, can you confirm this please?

Apps i want you guys to remove are:
Sprint apps and Amazon
Hopefully u guys can allow us to have 100mb to 110 mb of free internal memory.
I'll take one of those too, but can I have mine in Black? LOL
Ha! LWP barely runs ok on cyanogen. I can only imagine how poorly it would do with Sense dragging everything down.

This again? Really? Great "suggestions"!

Aside from the cool weather animations and HTC widgets what is so good about sense?
I'm running Cyanogen, and while I miss the widgets and the weather animations I'm more than willing to sacrifice aesthetic value for performance.
You've said this already OP. Then after enough trolling, it got closed.
Is there really a need to go through this again?
Edit: The answer to the above question is no.
you must be kidding. 720 recording is a feature valued even on the 1ghz devices. no way its coming to the hero. other than that, learn how to use the search button. this is ridiculous.
I assume you would like one of these too?

I had purchased it months ago when I got my Evo to save battery life but uninstalled it because the GUI was just horrible. I just downloaded it and the GUI has been made usable now. Oddly enough, JD is now able to control the CPU.
Has anyone given this a whirl?
the UI upgrade surprised me too. it takes a lot of poking around to get it really tuned in.

the old version was able to control the cpu as well
yes the new UI is great the maker just needs to fully support Gingerbread
I have been using it and recently did the update to the new one. I still use standard settings and it makes a difference on my phone. Think I am going to play with the settings to see what I can get.

I am a long-time fan, and I set it up with advanced settings. Helps a lot with battery life.

I didnt know the old one controlled CPU as well seeing as though I ditched it sometime in Nov.
Use JD in the past but I have good battery life anyway (using SetCPU profiles, this may help) so uninstalled it.
Just tried the new one. The new UI is nice but I can not get to any meaningful settings (e.g. the nice setting page in Biofall's posting), just choosing a preset configuration. Was the free version dumbed down?
I am using CM 6.1.2
Download, use root explorer to put apk in system/app. Restart.

there is also a new calendar via the test market, which shows version 3.1, so unless google has changed their version numbers on their market, ie, Froyo's calendar is 2.2.1 and GB's is 2.3.3 then most of these apps are 3.1/Ice Cream apk's and are going to be backwards compatible with previous versions of android.
As a side note, Aerosmith and Cage the Elephant then Backstreet Boys? seriously...
Hahaha. I have a little bit of everything!
it overwrites the touchwiz right?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Not sure. Probably. I'm not using a touchwiz rom.
works on CM7 and MIUI if anyone's wondering.
it didnt over write anything if you just install it.
tried it, TW is still better though this is beta.

Hello,
I am new to Evo 4G. Mine came with Android 2.3.5 which may be the latest official ROM for this phone. Before I start trying out different ROMS, I thought I'd ask for some recommendations.
I usually prefer the stock Android look and feel. But it seems like there isn't a CM10 release for this phone that is stable. For example the one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785498 appears to not support either of the cameras. This is not a huge deal breaker but a bit of a bummer.
Additionally I would love to save the screen real estate by keeping the capacitive buttons at the bottom of the phone functional. Is there a modern ROM that uses those buttons instead of giving up screen space to new virtual buttons? This one is kinda important to me.
Thanks.
Decks reloaded is an unbelivable rom, with all the sparks and whistles its cm based, but runs 10x better than any new phone could posibly I flashed every week until I found this rim its been my daily since may, thats saying a lot, and everytime I flash another rom, I just go back, no errors at all just follow directions, everything is perfect on flash, its under original development, happy flashing I'm sure you'll love it
