Does anyone knows how good is Galaxy S in pairing with a car?
Be sure to take them from opposite sexes - e.g. if your car is female, get a male phone. Otherwise they'll be having a gay connection and no children.

Please bring a better explanation how one pairs a phone to a car. Will be happy to learn something new.
Hmmm, meanwhile.... I have successfully paired mine with the car, a BMW 3 series. Connected seamlessly, can access the address book through the car and initiate calls. All seems to work.

Car audio or handsfree operation.
Don't you have cars over there that handle BT communications?

Do your contacts appear first.lastname? Mine are appearing Lastname.Firstname (BMW as well).
Thanks.
I'm pretty sure it was Firstname Lastname, but I'll make a note to check again in the morning.

this probably shows my complete lack of understanding of bluetooth, but....
would it be possible to create a bluetooth power up and audio connect app/mod
so you could connect to your car for instance, and your device would be able to charge its battery and connect your device's audio to your car, all while preserving the bluetooth ability to talk/listen if you made/receive a call?
please don't laugh if this is utterly impossible, just disabuse me of the notion

it is possible to wirelessly charge devices, but bluetooth is not designet for that, so it is practically impossibly.

Don't know if this is what you need, but I'm actually able to connect the phone to a USB on my car for charging, while using bluetooth to listen to music from the phone in my car's speakers AND beign able to answer a call or make one... this is no problem for android to manage... not to wirelessly charge the phone, but with an USB or an adapter to the cars electric output....
This works for ou?

hehehe as wise people say: "The only stupid question is the one that no one asks"... I prefer to ask something I think is very stupid and beign flamed for that, that keep the question and never know if it was actually a stupid question... I've been flamed a lot of times in forums for "stupid questions", but I've made some that actually turns into good threads with time!

anyway, thanks for the input
so how does the audio (other than phone calls) work on the bluetooth, i couldnt see any options for that when i was using it

Hey guys, quick question:
is there device or cable that will allow you to connect your fuze to your car radio so it plays your mp3's?
I know Ipods have that capability?
How about our phones?

Any line-out cable will do.
If however you would like to control your Fuze (i.e. skip, vol. up/down) then you would need a A2DP capable BT adapter for wireless streaming.
Sascha
bluetooth is the easiest way to go, especially if you car already has an a2dp capable bluetooth reciever.
the only thing my alpine head unit doesn't do is show the current track playing from my fuze, but i'm not sure if it's a fuze issue or if it is the alpine.

It seems to be a Windows Mobile issue.

Thanks guys, this was driving me nuts and now I know the answer!
I don't need people to figure out things.
Two words: MotoRokr T505.
Two more words: F*ing Incredible.
Check it out. I enjoy mine thoroughly, wish I used it more, but I'm a public radio junkie. When I'm out of minnesota though, I stream MPR with my phone and through the T505 to the car stereo. Also mp3s and phone calls. Absolutely fantastic quality on everything. Check out the reviews on amazon. I thought about going cheaper, but have never regretted spending the 70 bucks on a new one. Used ones are like 50, great resale value.
I just need to wire mine in now so I never need to worry about the battery. (even though battery life, like everything else, is fantastic)
Im getting ready to buy a new car. In my current car I have a kenwood single din slide out DVD/NAV unit. Frankly im sick of it.
In the new car (Mazda RX-8) im planning on doing a tablet on the dash. I already have all the technical stuff for that part of the install sussed out.
A cannabalized dock for the power and the audio, after market double din dash kit, Custom built (already sorted) swivel mount in the top din, head unit in the lower din for the audio pass through with an adapter for the steering wheel controls.
What Im stuck on, after much searching, is the software. What im looking for specifically is software to let me link my phone over BT so the when I get a call the tablet displays the info and can be used as a handsfree jobby. would be nice if it could also pass data as well but im not greedy.
It may be easier to use a BT adapter for the head unit itself if such software doesn't exist or isnt possible, and then just use the wifi tether for the data on the tablet for nav and such.
Any help or ideas would be SUPER appreciated.

The caller ID works very good but you can not answer the call from your tablet. If you want full phone service in your tablet ( answer and place calls) u can use groove ip assuming that u can give data connection to your tablet from your phone and u have a google number after that u just need forwarding your primary number at your google number and u are ready... sounds difficult but believe me, its very easy... I use this every single day and do not take more of 30 sec
Man I lucked out with sprint, google voice and groove IP, is all I need since my my phone is integrated.

I havent actually started any install as of yet. Still waiting on the car.
Funny story. I went to test drive the RX-8 today. It went LESS than stellar.
The car broke down three times in traffic. I got it back to the lot and the salesman still tried to sell it to me. I said get it working and Ill test drive it again...and MAYBE I might think about it. best salesman quote: "Its an automatic, it cant stall.
When I do get the new car next couple weeks/month I will keep you guys updated on the install. Im pretty sure im going to go with the headunit BT.
Can't wait to see it, I like the idea I might opt for kindle fire to mine in my car depending on how stable those devs get it.

you know, I never really considered replacing my radio with a tablet, though I thought of several different ways to mount it separately. I wasn't satisfied with any of my ideas so I'll be checking to see how this one goes. Good luck and take lots of notes and pics.
what is a good way to mount this in a car??
post pics when you get it finished I'd love to see how it came out.

Hi.
I have the 5, upgrade from HTC which I never though I would leave.
Don't know how good a galaxy S9 is but it can't be much better than this, an amazing jump from the HTC :0)
My Bluetooth picks up my car and bathroom speaker fine.
When I try and hook up my forerunner 645 music the connection just isn't there.
At first I thought it was the phone, then I imagined it was the 645, now...I just don't know.
When my Bluetooth is on (phone) it shows as 'Disconnected' in the menu system even though the bathroom speaker connects!
I've read that the pairing on a forerunner 645 can be weak but you would imagine it would work sometimes.
It says 'waiting for phone' on the watch but the watch doesn't show up after a phone-reboot.
Have tried all I know and am stuck.
Could it be the watch?
Can you guys can help?
Thanks for your time in advance, ste.

Please mention your current rom, latest betas and stables have improved bluetooth functionality. I don't have problems on several cars, headsets and Smartwatch...

Have attached a screenshot of what I think the info is that you wanted.
Hope I got the right stuff.
I'm pretty sure my phone is up to date.
It picks up other Bluetooth, just not the watch, it's very patchy, that's what makes me think it's the watch and not the phone.
What do you reckon? I'm not that technically minded unfortunately.
Cheers, ste

Ok, but I think I can be the watch itself. Do you connect with an app? Is this app excluded from battery optimization?
Hi all, the Pioneer SPH-8TAB-BT is brand new and decided to open a topic about it.
First issue I have that there is no call-out button in the software, while if I am dialing a number on my phone, there is a screen that shows who I am calling.
Second, is there any other FM app that could work. The stock one is too ugly.
I found out voice dialing works if you update PSS in the Google Play Store, but there is no Bluetooth dialer app yet

Would be better to ask in a Pioneer forum.
The unit you got is too seldom at XDA. Seems that this is a real tablet just with a connector to the head unit.
No one knows what´s in there.

Seriously??? You are kidding us, are you?
A car device without phone call possibility???
I would send this bull**** back wherever it comes from.... sorry, but this is not acceptable.
Just mounting a tablet on some mysterious radio without necessary functionality is not ready for sale.
OMG...
I agree, but other than that the device is great.
Anybody here who already has the device?
