Hi everybody,
I haven't found on the forum a similar situation then I ask :
on my Htc Touch Elf XL, under official htc rom (Touch XL 256MO official HTC 2.20.406.1R) or unofficial win 6.5 rom (eg:CrashOverHead 6.5 rom 1.8b standard), the native auto lock system causes me a lot of troubles.
-It locks my phone when I'm calling and stop my call.
-It allows only 1 ring of an incoming call and then reject the call.
-It snoozes my alarms.
The duration between two incontrolable "auto lock" is variable: it could be 1 second, 10sc, etc...
I've tried S2U2 and others third party lock softwares to replace the native lock system of win mobile, but the phone finally has two locks to unlock...
Disable Auto Device Lock 6.5.cab installed : no effect.
Is this a hardware problem (as it's the same under different Roms) ?
Any advice?

It seems it was a malfunction of the end key.
I've changed the registry in that way:
HKEY_C_U/ControlPanel/Keybd-->LongEndFunction = 0.
And now , no more problems.
No matters if I use again the windows lock or S2U2, there's no more foolish behaviour.

I have seen this bug since the initial days of the X1. Recently after upgrade to the R2 version the problem still exist.
I just have the following things installed in the phone:
Xperia tweaks
David Andrs Batti
Facebook panel
A_S S2U2
A_C S2V
HTC TOuchflo 3D HD Beta 2
Pubba TouchFLO 3D Panel
HTC Enlarge Start Menu
HTC HTC Volume
I always use the TF3D as my defaul panel. I simply love the interface.
The issue is when the phone comes in nothing happens when i press the ANSWER button. I can reject the call but cant answer it. I need to restart the phone and things are fine again.
I think the culprit is
S2U2 or TF3D.
P.S. In s2us i dont use the slide to answer fuction.
Someone else has similar issue.
Its really irritating.
I would blame TF3D because it's the only thing you seem to have on your phone which is known to cause problems.
S2U2 works fine here, but maybe you have something done wrong in the S2U2-settings.
Try setting everything off except:
- Lock when device wakes up
- Power Save mode
- Safe mode
- Display Mode: DirectDraw
Also be sure you have the latest version installed www.ac-s2.com

Have you tried a hard reset and then not installed either (and possibly nothing else) for a few days to see if indeed it is a software issue and not a hardware fault?
it happens to me too
by any chance, do you have your phone in a pouch and then when you take it out, it switches to landscape mode from portrait and then you can press anything? thats what happens to me...
Actually I've experienced the same issue and I've posted in the Official S2U2 thread.
My thoughts is that S2U2 is the culprit, because I don't even have TF3D installed (nor ever did). I have been wrestling with trying to fix it for the past 3 hours, and I've come up with nothing!
I have seen this before and I think it is the way that the official WM caller ID tab works. It seems to always want to 'fight' another program for focus. S2U2 has a difficult time with the first call (also the first time the WM caller ID tab makes it's first appearance), but after a restart/reload of iLock2.exe, everything is fine for me.
This really sucks because I've had to resort to the default caller ID tab so that I don't miss anymore calls!
If you think thats a issue let me try setting up S2U2 to SLIDE TO ANWER option and see if it works for me.

Auto Lock v6.06 (CSDEVCTRL)
The locking can be activated at the following events:
1. After a specified period of idle time (no screen tapping or touching the keyboard).
2. After the device has waken up.
3. During a call ("In-Call Locking" Partial or Full).
4. Gesture Left or Right to unlock
WM6.5 SmartLock
1 WM 6.5 use new lockscreen . gray when in wm6.1 or older
2 lockscreen when startup
3 lockscreen when standy
it works well after reboot.
Auto Lock v6.06 (CSDEVCTRL) looks very nice... many options in setup as
executing application after unlock (with command line parameters), locking keyboard, unlocking while slide-out (for raphael i guess), setting right sip, flashing, vibra, etc. ... rly Nice...
but for me LockMeLite is better... (with build in - slide 2 answer option while ringing) cheers

I'd follow the links to the main thread as both of these apps are on XDA and both have been updated significantly since the OP started the thread.
There are also much more in depth descriptions.
The attached cab files are also outdated. Don't use either of them if you want the latest/greatest.

I'm wondering whether I can disable the tiny and short sound when I receive a call during the device is locked and turned to silent or vibrate mode? I don't want to disable all sounds of this app, but just this because when the device is turned to silent, it shouldn't make any sounds, should it?
The lock sound is off when I turn the device to silent mode.

A quick note to tell that CSDEVCTRL works perfectly on the Rhodium. Not only it is a light unlocking application enhancing the WM unlocking, but it is incredibly useful, with a number of goodies not related to unlocking. The hard button utility is highly configurable, it can work even when phone is locked (if you wish). I use it to toggle wifi or set bluetooth off, in order to save battery. AEButtonPlus did not identify buttons correctly on the Rhodium, but this one does.

PS: the bluetooth toggle does not work at the moment due to the Rhodium stack, I use the hotkey utility to launch TurnBTOff.exe in \WIndows in order to set BT off.

CSDEVCTRL locks the phone while having a call. So U cannot end your call bevor unlock again ...

This is a setting (I guess it prevents your ear to hang up when touching the screen on some phones), you can put it the way you like (in "Lock Triggers", uncheck "Lock During Call"). You can also set it so that only soft keys are locked.
Well, locked/freeze my phone a couple of times. Personally, not recommended. Don't really works well.
Well, I forgot to say that it does not look compatible with TF3D (I do not use TF3D). It is fully compatible with SPB Mobile Shell. I used it with "WM Today". Sorry !
Also the settings are not so easy to figure out : If you have a foreign Rom (French Orange for me), most important is to write the title displayed in at the top when Unlock Window is shown (Déverrouiller instead of UNLOCK for me)in the Unlock Triggers window, the same with Phone (Téléphone for me) in the Lock Triggers window).

I'm searching for an application wich can turn automaticly off my screen on call connect.
I've tried several solutions and programms, but none of them worked for my 6.5 ROM.
It really annoys me that i accidently press keys while calling. I can activate an automatic lock of the phone throught Smart Lock, but only an alternative surface appears where i press accidently keys, too.
The power button can switch off the touch screen, but it seems that after some minutes it switches on again automaticly and again i press buttons with my cheek....
It would be really really great if somebody could mention a possible solution or write a little programm to fix the problem!

the same here.
i've duttys r8 turbo rom and the display isn't disabled after a view seconds while doing a call.
tried to fix it by changing some values in hd tweak but without success.
is there nobody who has the same problem?
OK i've tried some more programs.
It works with the trial of PhoneAlarm! But i really dont want to use second today to run the today plugin (the program doesnt work without it), i'm using manilla.
so its possible!
anybody got a solution or knows the algorithm of phone alarm?

I´m still looking for a way to disable the hardware-keys while the devide is in sleepmode. Only the Powerbutton should wake up the device. And also only the screen-slider should answer or dismiss an incoming call....
I cant believe that there ist still no solution for this problem....
And please dont answer me with: use s2U2 or other 3rd Party stuff... there must be an other way to do so

I'm also interested in this. Why wake up the phone with another button then the one who put it in sleep in first place. I find it strange. Like if I put the light off in the kitchen then opened the fridge the kitchen light will come on. who would like that ???
Can someone find a solution for this I search everywhere with no satisfying result.
I newly updated my Topaz from 6.1 to 6.5.3 and I can't recall that I had this problem in 6.1 and i had 6.1 for over 1 year.
I would say that this issue has nothing with screen lock to do it's rather an issue with wake-up (What shall wake up the phone from sleeping status : a call, sms, mms, mail, hardware key, power button etc...)
Just when I decided to post my problem I found it's solution:
Set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd\DefaultKeyLock to 0.
Now nothing wakes-up the phone except the power button.

i´ve made the changes in the registry, but still every button wakes up my device. So this "tweak" won´t work for me
Well I know after posting for about 3 - 4 hours I got the problem back myself not understanding what I have done to get the problem back. Yesterday evening I spent all night trying to figure this out. I have CHT Lock screen enable + BharS_OBOE_Lock_Disable.Cab. I need this cab because I have Huashan lockscreen built in my rom. And the cab allows me to use the CHT lock screen. To solve my problem I have done the following:
1) Disable CHT lockscreen
2) Uninstalled the Cab
3) made sure the registry setting was there and problem solved.
3.1) reinstalled the cab
3.2) enabled the CHT Lockscreen
Still working...
4) Went to power option the win 6.5 setting just to take a look (didn't change a thing)
5) Problem returned.
Start all over again to solve my problem.
For now on I'm staying out of the power option in win 6.5 setting.
There is nothing you can do there anyway until CHT lock screen come with an option for enabling password on lock.
I'm sorry I don't have any scientific explanation for this. But till now I can say I have solved my problem hope it solves yours

No, this couldn´t solve my Problems, because i use CHT 1.6.1 and this version doesn´t have any Lockscreen options.
The real Point that i can´t understand is: This is still a WinMo 6.5 Version, why is the Menue-point : Lock all buttons except Power on/off not there?
There must be a way to get this point back. I can´t belive that we have an extra written WinMo Version for the HD2...
So, where is the registry setting to get back the point?
