You don't need a popup menu
just add icon to today screen
see attached

i think he means without confirmation.

Look for Touch X Reset in this forrum. It is a simple & usefull cab. Put the icon shortcut in Home tab and, hey presto!

I want a hardware soft reset:
w/o any touch of the screen (for the time of screen hanging):
Long press of endkey --> soft reset (w/o confirmation w/o any menu)

If your device has hanged so bad the screen doesn't respond, it most likely won't be able to launch a reset shortcut either.
Just remove the battery like we do in these cases.

I found it:

There is a "endkey.exe" in your windows folder. Simply find a soft reset .exe (if you don't already have one) change it so that it is named "endkey.exe" and place it in the windows folder.
Job done. Dunno why so many people try and make it so much more complicated...

Bottom Buttons

Hi guys, how can we change the "Phone" and "Contacts" buttons at the bottom of the screen? At Helmi-the greatest-'s WM5 ROM there were little programs to do so.
Anyway, there were lots of little programs and settings at Helmi's WM5 ROM. Where can we find them for WM6 ROM?
here you go...
Thank you raymonds and of course baniaczek.

This will, instead, open the phone app when you slide open the phone - which I personally think is better.

Yup it's possible.
Need to terminate 'ASLauncer.exe' in one of the Running Processes.
This will stop any application to run when u slide open the phone.

You need to have mortscript installed in the main memory
can this be done with the slide actions app?
if not you can get it to do other things instead
It works!

Hey,
I put the files exactly where you say to.
And it doesn't work.
I can manually start kill.exe and it will work
but for some reason it won't auto run on reset.
Can you give me full paths ?
Im running the latest Niki Project ROM from here, 6.1 professional
thanks

Hello,
The Run.mscr should be put in the \Windows\StartUp folder.
The Kill folder should be put in the \Program Files folder.
Simple fix
Hi there,
Also posted this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359887 but for completeness here it is again...
I just got my Niki a couple of weeks ago (with T-mobile in the UK) and this has been bugging me too ever since.
I figured that there must be a registry setting to control this somewhere as the Keypad Quicktasks are able to adjust this behaviour. Last night , I finally found it.
The setting in question is:
HKLM/Software/HTC/Biotouch/ActionScreen/Check
With the Keypad Quicktasks on, it is set to 1. With them off it is set to 0 and will instead launch the phone app.
Simply set it to anything else (e.g. 2) and both the Quicktasks and the phone application are disabled upon sliding open the phone. The active slide event is still recognised and sliding the phone open will still answer an incoming call.
Sweet.
Nope.. the slide open to answer call still function.... can always restart ur phone if anything abnormal.. then the ASLauncer.exe will appear again.. and ur action when slide open is as in operation again..

Change Right Softkey Path and Text:

I think you are looking for a program like "action screen". Try searching for it! Its from Fabliv and the newest version is the v6.

Yes,
You must soft reset.
Thanks a lot,
I did a soft reset (turn off-turn on). I also see the changed name (from Telefon into Kalender; it's a german version).
But:
If I press the soft key I get a warning, that the program has a unvalid security certificate or could not find or parts of the programm are missing (if I use \Windows\calender.exe). Further ideas what my problem is?
Thanks
Turn off then turn on is not a soft reset. Remove the back cover and poke into the reset hole is one way to do it.

Ok, I thought turn off and turn on is like a reboot of the phone. I use the reset you suggest but I got the same error message.

please check the path andprogram that you have linked to the softkey. Try running that program from start/program and see if the problem is there.
Thanks a lot eaglesteve!
Your advice to put the program into the program tab of tf3d was the solution. Thus I found the regestry entry and also the correct link I have to use. To my surprise it was linked to \Windows\Startmenü\Kalender.lnk and not to the direct exe file in the Windows root folder. After using this path it worked immediately. Btw without any reset!
Change Softkey zu "Sync Data"
Hi,
in TF3D - settings there is the first item "sync data" (in german Daten synchronisieren - Acticesync und Internetdaten), which start directly the synchronisation whis my Exchange-Server.
I would like to put this on my left Softkey instead of "Telefon", but I don't know, which *.exe oder whatever I have to chose therefore.
Does somebody have an idea?

Hello,
try this one for the Pathvalue: \Windows\Startmenü\Programme\ActiveSync.lnk
Good luck.
Thank you very much, but it is not the right Solution, yet.
This opens the ActiveSync Screen, but starts not automatically the synchronisation process.
Maybe there's missing an additional option like ...ActiveSync.lnk -option ?
Just wanted to thank you all for the information; worked perfectly (linked the start menu .lnk item).

This has got to be the #1 killer tweak for the HD2

(If I knew how I would have opened an account to receive your donations)
The tweak is: change one of the bottom hardware keys to soft-reset.
I used long_send.lnk to link for an .exe file that soft reset the device.
In the last week this tweak saved me about 3-4 times from opening the back cover to press the red soft reset button (usually when the device hangs, it's really just the screen, the hardware keys still work).
Knowing that the soft reset button is the most important button in any WM device, I wonder how HTC hasn't thought about it themeselves...

I installed the reset and wifi cab off the cabs thread (in my sig). That creates a shortcut for wifi toggling and resetting the device. I've just got both of them in the quicklinks, so it's on my homepage all the time.

When the screen is unresponsive, your quicklinks are worthless. The power of my tweak is that it allows you to soft-reset using the hardware keys which usually stay responsive even when the screen hangs.

And when those keys are unresponsive then that method is useless. There's no perfect replacement for taking the back off.
Can you give a link to the soft reset exe file that you're using? A copy of your long_send.lnk would also be great.

True. Still, in the last week my device hang 3-4 times, I could not use the soft-reset quicklink, simply because the screen was unresponsive. When I pressed long send the device reset.
When the screen is responsive, the hardware keys are always responsive, but not vice versa.
Surely the "#1 Killer Tweak" would be to make it more stable so it doesnt need a soft reset!

sorry how is this a new tweak?

it's been posted many many times..
long_press.lnk isn't that good a way of doing it btw.
It's better to use the reg setting. :
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C6]
@="\"\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs\\softreset.lnk\""
"WndCls"=""
"BtnWnd"=dword:00000000
"Flags"=dword:00000000
"ResetCmd"=""
"Name"="Button 1(Hold)"
obviously you need a softreset.lnk pointed in the start menu pointing to the exe

Here are the instructions:
1. Download the soft-reset files from here:
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Enhancements/Shubaroo-Soft-Reset-56815.shtml
This is a zip file that contains two files. Put the file named "SoftResetARM.exe" on your Storage Card root directory.
2. Download the attached Long_Send.txt.
3. Change Long_Send.txt to Long_Send.lnk (I simply couldn't attach a lnk file)
4. Put the Long_Send.lnk file in the device's Windows folder.
That's it, a long press on the hardware send-key will soft-reset the device.

Hi, and thanks for your last help. My phone is running smooth and fast with duttys HG v.08! I would like to add a phone icon to my quick links (a link, so I can go directly the dial pad), is this possible? Again, thanks. Cheers.

No, I was wondering the same thing, with taht excellent rom, 'phone' is replaced by 'all people'.
I don't find it very convenient, as we already have 'all people' in the home screen tabs.
I'd appreciate the original 'phone' to come back as the left soft key.
How about the left hard key? the one that by its very nature is the phone key, and brings up the phone pad?
Alternatively, to make a quick link, if you can't see 'phone' when you create a new quick link and select program then the phone.lnk shortcut isn't in the start menu folder, in which case you can create it yourself, it contains the code
18#:MSCProg?tapres.dll,-22555
or heres mine. Drop it in your windows/start menu folder and now when you click new quicklink-program you should see 'phone' listed. (Had to zip it, can't upload .lnk files directly)
Yes, as there's that nice big hardware key "on every tab" to bring the phone up, most find the softkey redundant, thus setting it to a more useful "All people"
Thank you
Thank you all for taking your time. Samuel, that was exactly what I needed. It worked! Now I have a phone link where I use the most. Thanks mate. Cheers to all.

sorry not sure how you would do that.
I suspect its not as simple as moving the phone.lnk from windows\start menu
You could maybe try aebuttons and remap the left key to do nothing?
