At the main screen hit menu then settings then about phone then hardware.

ugh. what's the point? if you put a case on it, you don't see the white back anyway...

It says right on engadget on the last picture the hardware version is 0003.

my white evo hw version is 003

HTC, why waste your time on a half assed white phone? What's the rush?

Buying the white one may give other people the impression you're carrying an iPhone. The last thing I want is someone thinking I am a simpleton iPhone Luser..

so it's just the battery cover that's white; i expected the front to be white as well; if you are going to rock the white, why only go half in, need to go all white out

I liked it cause it was diff and then also its hard to find some evos here and it would be easier to pre order that.

Thanks to this thread, went to bestbuy and got my white evo. Ive alwasy liked white gagdets and to those asking why not white in front. because it takes away from the screen. when you are watching a movie or any video for that matter the black just fades away, probably why you dont see too many white tvs.

Exactly! I just wish more of the bezel was white and just the face was black so you dont get this half and half stuff...

So those of you that received your white evo's, where are you guys located? I live in Orange County, Calif and I non of the Best Buy's around here had them.

Changing the back cover

Seeing how the Gartia is coming out overseas in black,white and green. Does this mean we can finally get to swap our Aria's back cover with a new one?

One would think, eh?

the green looks kinda lame (although very British), but piano black, and the white look awesome.
If you want piano black - there are a couple on ebay though for the Aria.
Also dont forget that the rings around the tri-screws will still be black.

I'm hoping to get a white back. Just got to wait for the parts to show up on the internet

I have the piano black back as its on the Asian Aria, and it looks sweet. It is a fingerprint magnet though!

i have a custom white skin on my aria from skinit.com so ill definitly will try n find the white cover but they r gettin released wit 2.2 so we should b gettin sum type of update hopefully

It only makes sense. The inside of the incredible being ferrari red, and the Aria being ferrari yellow. Why not have a euro phone in BRG.

The white one seems to be running flawless but I must say I miss the soft touch black lol

i got the white one cause i think it looks better then the rest. black is to boring looking. every phone now a days is black. i wanted the white one cause it looks nice and stands out. i can careless if its different then the rest on the sides.

I wanted the red but they didn't have it. They only had white and black, so I figured I'd go w the color I never get.

How were your black ones defective?

The Lcd screen under the glass were rotated lol I was bad....

they chose white gloss due to a matte finish would be a dirt magnet
plus at the end of the day most of use will put a cover on it anyway

I don't see how a color of a phone is going to effect the phone being defective....

So on the black phone is the part that is all white on the mytouch all rubber? I have really slow internet connection with my white one so I am gonna take it to tmobile and test one of there mt4g to see if its just my phone or where I live. I've never had slow internet before

I don't have the white one, but have thought about getting it, as the white part is a hard plastic finish. I am worried about the paint on the red one that I got peeling off, which would be the case with the other colors too, except for the white. You know how that black finish use to peel off after use?

i dont think the rubber on the rest of the phones matter really. i just got back from tmobile and its not a big difference at all. i can barely tell a difference. i will stick with my white one. to bad my tmobile internet sucks really bad in my area. we can barley get 500kbps at best its really sad

I elected for the white one...because it matches my white netbook that is always with me, and because I prefered the smooth finish over the rubberized finish that was almost completely peeled off on the demo units they had in the store

that is stupid to think just because its black its gonna be bigger. lol someone lied to u dude. its not bigger and doesnt feel much different when i held it at the store. the side does feel like it is rubber but u can barely tell the difference from the black one to the white one.

Because earlier, you were replying to someone who was being very tongue-in-cheek, and I don't think you realized it. The following person *thought* you realized it, but I don't think you caught it. Correct me if I'm wrong. This doesn't happen all that often on the internet, where someone assumes sarcasm, but is mistaken. It's usually happens the other way around.

I vote for google io limited edition

I actually legitimately prefer the white back. I like the glossy finish vs the "brushed" finish.
But, now that I have the Tab installed in the samsung case, amounts to a hill of beans difference! Love the case!!

I tried to tell myself that when I first purchased the white one inadvertently. But aside from the color, the feel of the brushed grey is far superior (IMO) to the white plastic. The plastic feel of the white model just makes it feel cheap. The brushed grey almost makes me feel like its brushed aluminum...

Got the white, which was the only option at the local BB for the 32G version. As others mentioned, you can't see it during day to day use. The feel of the white back is that of any glossy plastic. Haven't held the ggray one, so I can't compare. Ideally, I wanted gray, but I'm very happy with my tab, regardless of color. Frankly, this is my first android device that I haven't rooted - I'm that happy with it.

I/O but.. White in this poll

I picked up the white one the other day at BestBuy for $541.24 with tax.. It got a lot of finger marks on the back after using it for a little bit. I returned it after finding a new in box black one for $450 on craigslist
This happened to be the "black" one (more like graphite grey or something) and this seems more resistant to finger prints. And beeing a little less smooth it seems like the grip is a bit better.
Thats just my $.02 though

since the front is NOT white in anycase like the iPad I would say black and grey is the best combo.

So it all boils down to wanting to look like the iPad? I honestly don't get that. The GT10.1 is superior to the iPad in so many ways - why would you want it to look like one?

The textured back on the gray has a great, secure feel, especially while scrolling screens and holding one-handed. I didn't want the white because of finger prints, assuming I would keep it naked in use and pouched for transport. The difference is night and day, but I miss having a built-in stand with a cover, so it likely won't matter in the end.

I was going to go with orange. I had it loaded up and ready to go.. But then I remembered that it looked kinda dull on my first x. Hoping the red pops a bit like my blue does on my current one.
That combo looks really good though.

It's suppose to be a bumper.. I chose the crimson color one.. but the render is different than what it shows on the website..

but i like the one from the moto x motomaker color.. it's more of a crimson. The link I posted is very orange like red..pinkish. I hope it's the darker red that matches the red trim color I chose...

Somewhat off topic: when I am making my designs and go to the end I get an error message saying that the 32GB and front color selection (whether black or white) is unavailable for T-Mobile at this time? Seems odd.
Anyway, heres what Ill attempt to make… I think. I happen to change my mind often

this was one of the choices i was deciding between. i think this looks the most premium out of all the design choices possible. was also considering black front and white back aka storm trooper. ultimately decided i wanted a color that popped.

Yeah, I loved the 'Premium' look of this combo.
I considered the Storm Trooper look however my first Nexus 5 was the white edition and I hated it, ended up trading it for a black one.
