Regret getting white S2

Having had my white Galaxy S2 for about a month, I have actually gone off the white colour and now wish I had a black handset. It's a shame as when I first got my phone I was in love with the white colour and I was one of the first to get one of the white handsets on release day.
It's stupid I know but I wandered if anyone had a similar feeling and wished they had the other colour to the one they bought?
Anyone want to do a swap? Lol

Go to the xda marketplace and post the request for trade, I bet some one would be willing to trade with you

You can always get a black case (SGP or any other) and get SGP's Black Glass Screen protector for the front. Now you have a black phone! They also give you a black piece to cover your home button. Now you can switch in between your mood. That is what I am going to do. I hear what your saying though. I love my white one but sometimes I want the black front.

That's not a bad plan. I like the fact that you could choose between the two depending on what you fancy at the time.

GOD! i love my white S2 after years of nothing but black black black , I have had three back S2`s and the silver trim around the edge of the white S2 really does looks the dogs bollics.
But each to their own

A nice sleek silver phone would be lovely but i like my black GS2.

I absolutely love the look of the white GS2, but I went with black for two main reasons. First, (and maybe you can confirm this), I read that the smooth back on the white version made the grip less sure compared to the rough back on the black. Second, as much as I love the look, I'm not really the type that likes to stand out too much, and a black smartphone is a lot less attention-grabbing than a white one, even if the latter is beautiful. Plus, I saved about $30 based on the best prices I could find when I bought. Okay, that was three reasons I guess, so sue me.
But yeah, the white usually costs a bit more, as you can see here already, you won't have any trouble trading someone.

I own a black gs2 and my wife has a white gs2. I like both but I do really like hers more! Looks awesome in white!

It's all a matter of preference. Go for it if it makes you happy. I know a lot of people including me who's like white one. Problem is that option was not available locally and I wanted a phone with warranty.

Haha that's exactly what I keep getting told. Which has put me off the white. Don't get me wrong, I still like the look of it but would much prefer the black.

I prefer the Black as I have got a Black One all my phones have either been Black or Silver.
My colleague just got a White one and It kinda looks Odd compared to mine so quite happy
Yeah and its true girls look cool with white phones

Argh, my first white phone and I love it.
But today I somehow got ink on my hands from a badly made pen and must have picked up my phone,
ink marks stay on the phone and are NOT easily wiped off.
Went from screen cleaner -> lens cleaner -> flash -> Mr muscle, which FINALLY did the job.

I got the white sgs2 after waiting for one month. I love it. I'm happy that I waited for it and didin't buy the black one. Looks awesome in white.

Anyone switch from Blue to White?

I like the blue quite a bit, but the white one seems to be grabbing my attention the more I look at it. Has anyone here made the switch and regretted it?

OmG doesnt matter what other ppl thinks..choose the one that you like more

haha I'm just getting some opinions man. Sometimes people switch and there may be something they don't like about their decision that can help me make an informed decision.
Sure it's a preference but there are other aspects to the colors that can help a dude decide. Light leak, dirt etc

gotta agree with him.. decide for you not for others. but i am also confused about the colors as well they are both very good. i guess i will just close my eyes and put my hand on one and buy that color lol

Eww I waited for the blue one and I'm glad I did. I held the white phone of my cousin in my hand. And imo it felt subjectively cheap to me after having the blue one! I would never never buy a white one, but as I said taste is very subjective!
Just go to a shop or friend and take it in your hand and then you can decide for yourself

one thing i am worried about is that the white will get dirty so if you like your phones super clean then dont get the white

is that your opinion or experience? cuz the thing with me is i hate it when my phone gets dirty thats why i was leaning towards the blue more

It is a smudge magnet. It's dark and glossy...I mean unless you have some kind of special fingers it gets smudgy.
I have a matte skin coming for mine to take care of that and a regular skin on there now that helps, but naked it gets pretty smudgy.

I dont get it.. how can the white feel cheap when the only difference between the two is color? If you closed your eyes and handled them you wouldnt be able to tell which is blue and which is white so how can the white feel cheaper? lol
I will be getting the blue though only because I dont like white phones.. on that note.

For me it's not smudgy my old arc was much much worse, but I did notice one thing. I put a Samsung flip cover to help protect it, for some reason that back gets a little smudge? But the original didn't

I like to watch films in the dark and the white kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.

Honestly I can't look at the blue version in a direct light: that brushed finish it has around the screen becomes all shiny and looks cheap as hell, really hurts my eye. A friend of mine is getting it today and i tried everything to convince him to go with the white one, but no luck. I wonder how people aren't bothered by this, especially in direct sunlight...

I have white. I've always had a black phone or dark coloured one so for me white was refresging . I saw the blue when it was finally in stock and glad I got qhite . Some say the white looks cheaper but I think the other way roubd

That's what I didn't like about the blue one. The white is just a simple colour, which, looks much more elegant (if you consider only the pattern by itself).
Also, that after a few months I'd look at it and think "Ugh, why did I get this colour?!". Shades of grey, black and white are more neutral. If I had to pick only one colour clothes for the next two years, it wouldn't be blue, so neither is my phone.
But to be honest, the blue being dark is nice. If it had been that dark in grey, I would have definitely picked it. (I think the brushed finish probably would have suited grey better anyway). My white hasn't had any transfer staining so far, but I am slightly worried hearing what others have said. I'll just have to make sure to use only dye-free (clear) cases.

i have had three blue ones because of various faults. after i sent my first blue one back i went to the carphone warehouse to see the white one in the flesh as the replacement date was earlier for the white.
but after comparing it to the blue one i decided to wait for another blue.
again there was unrelated fault and had to send back again, still waited for a blue and very glad i held out as i love it.
just my opinion, maybe because i have a white s2

So. Black or white?

Not trolling here, as I'm betting this topic has been beaten to death 6 pages down the forum, but it still puzzles me greatly.
Black or white?
To my eye, black is more sleek and serious, white (silver) is more fancy. How are your experiences in terms of build quality of both? Is it true that black smudges with fingerprints easily, and how view-able are they? Scratch/chip wise, how do both phones behave?
Any honest opinion, I would kill for. Thanks for your time lads.

Think of it like a car. White cars you have a tough time see scratches, but you can tell when it's dirty quicker. Black is the opposite.

i started off determined i wanted black, as I've been using a white SGS3 and I hate the white look in general, but I went to the store to see what it was like in person and it was nothing like I imagined. The black is very matte and not a deep black like i expected. The white (actually silver) on the other hand looks much better in person IMHO.
All in all, you really need to see the product yourself to decide. My Best Buy had both on display for me to check out. As someone who enjoyed the iphone 5 in black, the htc one's black model does not resemble it much at all and ends up looking a little bit cheaper to me. I'm going to end up getting the silver model.

silver color is good...

the metal underneath both finishes is silver. if you nick the black finish you will see silver. if you nick the silver finish, you will see more silver. which situation is more noticeable?
personally i believe a) if you could somehow keep your phone from getting dinged, black looks cool (even if it is more of a charcoal gray and not exactly black) and b) putting a great-looking and -feeling phone in a case is a waste of good design unless you expect to drop your phone at some point and/or care about resale value. (and besides if you have a case on your phone, the case obscures much of the phone's original finish anyway.)
because i am a) pretty sure my phone will experience a little wear and tear and yet b) i would prefer to use it without a case, i am guessing silver will make me happier in the long run even if black seems slightly more appealing now. and i mean *slightly* : honestly , both look good.
oh and it's not clear if the developer edition will ever come in black. HTC is saying no for now. not sure what to expect later on though.

black one gonna give lots of residual + finger prints in future usage. U will notice it really much, but if you going to get the case doesn't matter, silver looks more stylish and appealing high end device in your hand.

I have the black One and I am very happy about it. Had it 10 days now and only one tiny noticeable scratch at the top edge. Very very small one and easily covered by a black marker.
I have to day, I don't regret getting the black at all, it's so cool and stylish IMHO. It does attract more fingerprints but wipe it wit.your cloth easily clean it, I was a bit worried but not anymore since I.actually got the phone.
Of course, I don't abuse my phone, but don't avoid using it, it's always naked in my.pocket alone.
Oh, the back is quite durable I dropped it from knee high and.it landed on the back on wood floor, not a single mark.

Silver, ive had black phones all my life, its time for a change

I went for Silver too, never been a big fan of black phones. Or white ones, for that matter! really like the brown Galaxy S3 my girlfriend uses, and my old Desire HD had a bit do a brownish tint to it. Only had my silver One for a couple of hours so far, but it's stunning - very happy with it and it frames the display nicely. one day when we have true edge-to-edge displays then black would look amazing, but until then I think I'd prefer a silver, grey or brown.

Or confuse yourself even more that's what happened to me when I was deciding... I took the black simply because another colleague in my company got a silver and I wanted to be different! It turns out to be a good choice.

I actually had chance to go back, switch to a silver One while I was still in the first 7 days after received the phone feared it may chip. But I stayed because my normal usage will not worsen the casing,

White is nicer looking imo, also better for browsing, drawing, note taking. Some prefer to watch movies on a black model, but not seen much use there myself really. Also the fake leather looks better in white. Several reviewers mentioned the white one looking better, none so far preferred the black one. White backgrounds on the screen of the Note 10.1 costs no more energy to produce than a black one.
With amoled on a phone I prefer a black device, seeing a black themed screen saves energy and phones are somewhat low on battery power.

I picked up the previous 10.1 in white and did not like it so when I purchased my 2014 10.1 I made sure it was the black one.

White looks better and goes well with any color cases

I am considering the white model because it looks better than the black one, and I had the same initial concerns about the back getting dirty... However, after seeing them both in person, I'm pretty sure either version will be very easy to clean if it does get dirty. After all, it's only plastic and the texture is not very deep.

Am I the only person who finds the white border with chrome being distracting?

I prefer black for my gadgets. White just reminds me of outdated kitchen appliances. Never understood the fascination people have with white electronics. Also, I've seen too many white colored devices get discolored over time... not sure this textured back is going to hold up to grime over time very well.

I like white, and got a white note I've never had my white smartphones or tablets get discolored, maybe those people just didn't take good care of their devices, like leaving them in the sun in a hot car. It's personal preference though, go with what you like.

Black or White?

My S4 was white. Definitely going for the black one this time. What color are you planning to get?

All my electronics are black. So black it is. Well the Note 2 was silver but you get the point.

Even though the white looks very nice (just got a hands on @ the Best Buy across the street), I like the black look of my Note 3, which is why I opted for the black one

Black one here. The White looks really good, but will only last a few months at the most before it starts to look dirty even after cleaning it.

$900 for a phone without LTE? Wow that's insane.

Preordered the black. I'm not a fan of white faced phones, the bezels stand out way too much. Look at the iPhone 6 plus, it's the most god awful gaudy looking phone with the white front/bezels. On the other hand I'm impressed with the white Note 4 and would consider the white, it's very well done and the bezels don't stand out too badly.
