Hey, how can I transfer just my sms messages from my htc fuze over to my HD2 without any problems, they are also about 1200 of them, so I want to make sure they transfer over without a hitch
Thanks
You could install the micrsoft "My Phone" app, yeah I know it is M$, but it does work good for keeping SMS, and Contacts in the Clouds ...
Just put it on the fuze sync then set it up on the HD2 with the same account ...

You sign into myphone from the HD2, to the same account you uploaded to from the Fuze. the first time you log into it from the HD2, it will first update your myphone client, then connect again and it will bring all your contacts/sms/etc down to the HD2

As seen in recent WM6.5 cooked roms, there's a feature called Microsoft My Phone, which should be an online synch of contacts and whatsoever on the phone. Anyone got to try that?
http://myphone.microsoft.com
I got it on my Diamond, tried it out. It works as advertised. It backs up your stuff in the cloud, and everything is accessible via web as well.
However, I sync my contacts with my school's Exchange server and also with Windows Live, so it's kinda useless for me.
I guess if you aren't synced to another service and if you flash different roms a lot, this can be useful. It backs up everything (text messages, media, contacts, documents, etc)
The only complaint I have is that it just syncs up anything, so it takes pictures from Opera's cache. My my phone is already full of random small images and gifs from the Opera folder. I don't think there's a way to assign different folders not to sync.
I can't get why, but I can't use that. I signed, I got the mail from MS telling me I've been enabled, I even downloaded the latest cab from the MS Live Page but this just won't allow me to synch, reporting MSN ID issues. Anyone got this working under WM6.5?

Apparently, there was this issue, check the link here.
My Phone Team Blog
I read it was only compatible with WM6 and 6.1 but the workaround you pointed worked great! I could finally synch, even with 6.5 ROM! Thanks!
MyPhone sucks!
I think myphone sucks! What do i need an other stand-alone service for? is it that hard to connect it to windows live? or mesh? or whatever the f****** services name is?

Have you ever been able to sign in?
Also, when I signed up, there were limited places on the beta program, and it took about a week before I got allocated a place...
I'm currently using an exchange server, but MyPhone backs up my pictures and text messages, which Exchange just can't do.

After the initial waiting period (to be picked), and after a fresh install of the app downloaded right from MS (not the one in 6.5ROMs, it's buggy), I was able to sign in and synch in a couple of seconds.

That´s maybe it. I received my invitation on Saturday, and I have never been able to sign in. Although, when I enter a incorrect address it says WRONG ID. So I guess I´m still not allowed. I´ll wait a week.
I reinstall and still no server connection.
Thanks guys!
Keep you posted!

Was there a "click here to verify" link in the email?
No!
It was not!
just https://myphone.microsoft.com
should I have it? mmm interesting!
I've found the myphone app very usefull. I've been testing a load of ROMs over the last couple days and without the myphone app it would be annoying trying to backup and restore all my contacts, text messages and calendar items all the time.
After using myphone for about a week I have come to the conclusion that Dashwire is a lot better. Both the phone interface and the web interface win hands down in my opinion.
Check it out dashwire.com/
wow! this is interesting!
I create a new account @hotmail.es
I received the invitation! and it syncs!
awesome isnt it?
shame i have to remember something else
How do i get my contacts off my HTC Sprint Diamond and on to my new HTC Sprint Hero?
If you can get internet on the Diamond, you can easily set up mail/contacts/calendar through exchange and sync your contacts to your gmail. Then they will automatically transfer to your Hero when you're up and running.

Unfortunately the guy at best buy upgraded my line to the hero, instead of adding a line like i told him. so the diamond is not active anymore. I believe i can sync them to outlook, and then to the hero. im just waiting for is to finish its first charge to find out.
Same here.. and apparently the BB guy didn't know how to use the contacts transfer machine

I forgot to put the stock rom back on. So the device wouldnt even connect to my diamond.
I have set up a Google mail account and got over 2.000 emails and Sense works like ****. Does anyone know how to delete the account all together? Or delete/mark as read all mails? It was a cab that inserted the option mark all as read but it does not work anymore on official ROM 1,66.
Connect your phone via Active sync and simply delete account.

myPhone is a 2-way sync. This means if your contacts are on the website, they should be sent to your phone when you sync.
If not, either your contacts were never sent to the website, or they are stored in the website's Archive.
If you can't find them on the website, your contacts may be gone

HTC Sync™ lets you synchronize Outlook and Windows Address Book (Outlook Express), contacts and calendar events on your PC with your phone. It also lets you install third-party Android applications on the phone, and the Mobile Network sharing function as well.

Hmm... Mobile Network sharing function...
I wonder if maybe this will allow me to root my ARIA? the 2.0.38 or however they show the version numbers had not been seeing my phone no matter what I tried.

I didn't see anything about that in the software. Where is it?
I can not find the software for htc synch for my aria and not much info on the phone even on htc's website.
they change the info on it. has anyone download it sense they change the info to see if they took out this stuff. " It also lets you install third-party Android applications on the phone, and the Mobile Network sharing function as well."

I was thinking the same thing as i refuse to register my device just to download sync software, it was not like this when i downloaded HTC_Sync_2.0.38 a few weeks ago, and i can download HTC_Sync_2.0.40 without registering a serial easily and use it with no issues, matter a fact i was using HTC_Sync_2.0.40 to sync my outlook and calender even before HTC_Sync_2.0.38 was released so why make us register the device?
Here ya go - http://gruberphotos.com/download/
used it to get swype on stock non rooted aria, little slow but worked just fine.

Ok, after using this new version i must say that its a step backwards. I like the new GUI and all the eye candy and the ability to install .APK files but it lacks the basic functionality that the HTC_Sync_2.0.38 had.
For instance the old version told you at a glance the number of contacts in outlook and events on the outlook calender, where it is at during the contact syncing and calender syncing. It also gave you more advanced options on syncing.
On this new version Outlook must be set as you default mail client for it to connect with it which is completely bogus. On first connect the device synced on it own using the latest modified data which created duplicated in outlook and my phone, deleted the duplicates from my phone and tried to sync again and it completely wiped the data from outlook, i used the nandroid to restore the contacts to the phone and tried to sync again to get everything back where it was.
A bit angry with the music syncing. The files sync to /Music/ then the full file directory. so if you music is stored in c/:users/username/my documents/music you media wll be synced in the same structure /Music/c/users/username/my documents/music which is more complex than it needs to be. A simple music folder with music/Artist/album is sufficient. Then it took 1 hour to sync 3.8GB of music, that same 3.8 GB takes less than 15 if i remove the card from the device and put in in the card reader.
Long story shorty, im reverting back to HTC_Sync_2.0.40. Sometimes less is more.
Funny that now the new sync is no longer availble on HTC site and the link was changed back to HTC_Sync_2.0.38

Hmmm...
You probably want to get on the ball with finding this software as it really has been pulled from the site. Some people have upped the new version for download, so do a search, grab it while its hot and sit on it if you want to sideload with the software (without rooting).
Edit: You can grab it from this thread if you don't have it already

I downloaded this one, the one from HTC's site (before it was removed) and even tried the old version (.38) and NONE of them recognize my phone when I plug it in and tell the phone to use HTC Sync. The phone tries to find it running on my PC but can't. Any ideas? I'm running Win7 64.
