Have you checked on your PC to see if you have more than one OneNote Mobile Folder? You are probably aware of this, but if you have recently flashed a new ROM, a new OneNote Mobile sync folder will be created on your PC. If that is the case, just copy your notes from the old folder into the new one.
where will i find the said new folder?
bump please

If you open up OneNote on your PC you should see the OneNote Mobile folders in the "Notebooks" area on the left hand side of the screen (you may need to expand OneNote Mobile to see all folders). The current OneNote Mobile folder is normally the last one on the list. As mentioned, just move your notes from the old folder to the new one.

that is part of perfect. Have you ever seen onenote desktop syncing anything to onenote mobile? The feature was never implemented.
Onenote is build to sync in both directions:
- Onenote Mobile -> PC
- PC -> Onenote Mobile
Wherever you create a new note its synchronized to the other side.
If that does not work... Something is set up incorrectly.
One tip for the following set-up
Onenote 2010
WMDC 6.1
Win Mobile 6.5
-> Delete all partnerships
-> Backup and Delete (not only close but DELTE) all Notebooks called "Onenote Mobile" on the PC (To do this look for the physical location of the Notebook and delete it)
-> Set up a new partnership (tick the box for Onenote sync in WMDC)
-> Onenote should now have created a new Notebook with the name "Onenote Mobile"
UNITL HERE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SYNC FROM PC -> TO MOBILE
(BUT NOT FROM MOBILE -> TO PC)
If you also want to sync from MOBILE to PC click on the Notebook "Onenote Mobile", select Properties.
Click on "Convert to 2007" (from 2010) and click OK.
Now Sync should also work from MOBILE to PC...
Good Luck....

Hi @ all,
google a lot, but only find a VNC solution to manage my mobile on PC.
Is there a PC Suite out there for WM 6 (use XDA diamond pro with WM 6.1 pro) like Sony Erricson and Nokia use?
Connect it by USB or Bluetooth, maybe by WLAN
Best regards
Try Jeyo Mobile Companion
What "managing" are you trying to do??
There's "My Mobiler" (here) that allows you to control your PPC from your desktop, plus it offers Cop/Paste and screen capture functionality.
There's "Desktop SMS" (here) that allows you to send/receive/manage your SMS messages from your desktop PC.
Plus WMDC (on Vista) or Activesync (not Vista) allows you to explore the PPC, add/remove programs, etc...
Then, as @deedee has already mentioned, there's Jeyo....
At the end of the day, it depends on what you're trying to achieve and whether you want to pay for a "solution"
In answer to your original question, there is no "PC Suite" type software for Windows Mobile devices of any sort that I am aware of...
HTH,

I have a brand new Vista PC with Outlook, but no contacts. I also have HTC HD with a bunch of contacts on it. I am trying to synchronize those two in such a way that HTC contacts are imported onto PC. It seems it only works one way - PC to HTC. At least Vista is telling me contacts are successfully synched, but I see nothing in outlook. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Hmmm....I came acrosss this option somewhere...have a look in ActiveSync (when your device is connected, otherwise everything will be greyed out), tools->options. See if you can't find 'synchronise' instead of 'overwrite' (or something similar) in a drop down box somewhere.
Or try rightclicking on 'contacts' in the lower part of the ActiveSync panel.
Activsync doesn't work with Vista. Download Windows Mobile Device Center from here....http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx

do you have outlook installed??
i had to install it to pass the contacts from nokia to blackstone
pc sync works on vista. it actualy comes with it so no instalation is required

There is an optional setting for this. When syncing either you replace on the desktop, or on the device. I think you have to change from PC>>DEVICE to DEVICE>>PC.
How to change that option??
I've never managed to setup any of my phones to sync the way I want it.
Here I am... A clean install on my new laptop with Windows 7.
A new HTC-HD2. Cleain install of MS Outlook 2007.
I connect my HTC-HD2, and select sync on the popup.
The HTC-HD2 does get connected with Windows Mobile Device center.
The Sync Center does also say Sync in progress, and the green bar keeps moving from left to right.
As test I have added one address to Outlook, and created one date event .
I've now waited about 1 hr to see if anythig would happen, but no...
Anyone here with a suggestion on what it could be?
(firewall / virus scanner are off for this test)
What are you syncing with bluetooth or cable etc?
My mistake.. I'm using the USB cable from HD2
Sometimes disabling the option "Enable faster data synchronization" in the USB to PC options can help the syncing of devices. I don't own an HD2 yet, but that could be the issue.
Also check and see what your device is meant to be syncing in the sync options. Maybe nothing is selected.
interesting..
win7 here, able to sync both with hd2 and diamond
not a "clean install", as i've upgraded vista → win7 beta → rc → rtm
that should not be an issue however, since the hd2 is newer than all, thus there was nothing on the notebook related to the device from beforehand.
do you get any sync related error messages? or does the sync attempt just go on forever?
if so, are you able to cancel it -- sometimes that's not possible, you have to severe the connection by cable -- ?

No sync related error's. The sync attempt just keeps going on and on.
Canceling is no problem.
The only way I get a "good" sync is if I disable all the "content sync settings" under Windows Mobile Device Center > Mobile Device Settings
But than again I'm not syncing anything :-(
I've now been at it over 1/2 day, and I'm about to reinstall the Windows 7 system with absolutely nothing on it exept office.

before you reinstall like that (last resort) may i suggest you to just:
1) disconnect hd2
2) uninstall windows mobile device center
3) reboot -- (even though win7 does not deem it necessary)
4) reinstall wmdc -- which will start automatically once you connect hd2
5) check windows update for wmdc updates (win7 might have one, vista did for sure) and if there is, install that
6) reboot (argh.. but please bear with me)
7) power off hd2 and on
now try not an "empty" sync, but instead with something minimal like tasks.

that option -does- exist in the hd2 also.
struggling with the Dutch ROM here, it's located at:
instellingen / overig / usb aan pc
to describe: it's the 12th item in settings (or 2nd one from the bottom)
and then, usb to pc
it's the checkbox there for faster sync.
hope this helps.

Okay.. After uninstalling office, the syncing is working as it should (only option available to sync is Mobile Favorites)
As soon as I install office again, and enable one of the office options (like E-mail or Notes) it does not work.
Do I need to enable something in office to make it work?
i've had the same problem syncing with Office 2007 installed on windows 7, altho Office 2007 + Vista had no problems.
I also get a problem backing up my phone contacts in Office, i end up getting a combination of the phones contacts + my hotmail (the email account i use in Office 2007) all together in my phone's contacts..
Do you get the same problem?
what office version are you using?
do you use Outlook?
as this is a clean install I only have one email, and one e-mail address in it (not a hotmail).
I've got an old HDD here what I will use for a new install of Windows 7, to see if I can get it to work.
Googleing my problem does return a lot of messages!
As does this link: http://social.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/windowsmobileactivesync/threads/

hi Cooney,
you can try using iMobileTool Windows Mobile Backup Suite.
It allows you to backup both contacts and SMS from windows mobile to computer - Backup contacts and SMS into Text file format(.txt file).
I would backup your contacts in a .txt file via your HD and then transfer that file over to your PC, when you connect your phone via USB, make sure you select the Disk Drive radio button to avoid having ActiveSync immediately synchronise with Outlook. Then access your Removable Disk from My Computer and transfer the file over to your PC from there.
Hope this works.
Best Regards.

When you first establish an Activesync connection to your pc, it asks if you want to merge phone and pc, replace phone details with pc or pc details with phone. Choose either the first or last option (first is better for future sync's)
The iMobileTool Windows Mobile Backup Suite sounds like a good idea but it costs too much. I discovered that i could change the settings before it synced my contacts, so now i have it connected to the computer but still no way of moving my contacts from the phone to the computer. Are there no free ways of doing this?

Yes. That's the annoying thing, iMobileTool Windows Mobile Backup Suite as you will have to eventually have to pay for the software. However, if it makes any difference, you can download it from the link provided above, and use it's Free-Trial offer - allowing you to only backup the first 20 contacts/SMS.
EDIT: you might want to try Turbo Contacts Backup. It's free but it's requirements state it is only compatible with Windows Mobile Pocket PC 5 , 6 , 6.1... try it out and hopefully it will work with 6.5.
.
Regards.

Hi again Cooney,
First off, you are not stupid. Things are only easy when you know how.
Try this:
In WMDC on your PC, go to Options -> Settings and choose the setting to merge items on the desktop.
Hope this helps you out dude,
Best Regards.

Okay, my fault. I am using you as a guide as I don't use Windows 7 or WMDC
What you will need to do is delete your WMDC partnership (both on PDA and PC) and next time you try to sync your device to the PC with the USB cable, you should be given an option to merge your items or opt to replace all items.
Regards.
Send an affectionate greeting to all users.
Windows 8 does not support Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1. Does anyone know of any solution to the connection on Windows 8 terminal with Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5?.
It is a real problem that has no solution so far by Microsof.
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserversetup/thread/e670550a-297e-4bfb-9cd8-f0694314c11c
Hopefully you find some solution by Microsot and Major Developers in the network.
Best Regards
I found the same problem on Windows 8 (RTM x86) and Office Outlook 2010.
It seems not a simple solution for "ordinary" users.
Even after many setting changes, even after every fix I know was done, WMDC can't sync with Outlook.pst file.
It is the first time I have this kind of ptoblem since many years I use Windows Mobile!!!
Is there someone who knows how to fix that?
Sync problem on Winodws 8 & Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)
There is something strange in all this situation.
On PC W8:
Notes are inside Outlook.pst file -> they can be synched.
Calendar, Contacts and Tasks are inside Outlook.pst file -> they can't be synched.
Favorites are files inside the PC in C:\Users\xxxxx\Favorites -> they can be synched.
On PPC WM6.x:
Notes are files inside the main memory at \My Documents -> they can be synched.
Calendar, Contacts and Tasks are inside pim.vol file -> they can't be synched.
Favorites are files inside the PPC in \Windows\Favorites -> they can be synched.
My conclusion is:
Pim.vol file can't be managed by WMDC in Windows 8.
possible solution
I had a similar problem with Office 2010 on Windows 7 and I could solve it like this:
1) create new Outlook profile and select it as default
2) as the new profile was automatically created in a different new folder, copy the .PST file into it
3) manually add email accounts if they don’t exist in the new profile
4) uninstall and reinstall WMDC
5) on WM device, export Calendar + Tasks + Contacts on storage card with SKTools (just in case, to have a backup)
6) on WM device, delete Calendar + Tasks + Contacts with SKTools, to avoid duplicates
7) delete all partnerships on PC and WM device
8) sync with WMDC.
I searched a long time for a solution and in my case, the key was to start with a new Outlook profile which probably created all the necessary links to permit WMDC synchronization.
Maybe this helps also on Windows 8.
Good luck.

I did know about that, in fact I tryed this procedure too... but it doesn't work.
On Windows 8 the problem seems to be another one.
I called Microsoft customer care. They know about this issue and they are working on it.
So, they told me to wait.
To be honest, I didn't understand if they will release somenthig...

They didn't bother fixing it for WIN7x64 so I wouldn't count on it.
