New O2 Exec ROM version 1.13.82 WWE

Just received a replacement for my faulty O2 Exec and it's got a new ROM version:
ROM: 1.13.82 WWE
ROM date: 30/11/05
Radio: 1.04.02
Protocol: 42.37.P8
ExtROM version: 1.13.188 WWE
Only difference I've noticed so far is that the Personal install option has been dropped.

I presume that updating the ROM means that you lose all your data and basically have to start from scratch??

Updating the ROM would be like a hard reset, so you'd lose anything that wasn't backed up or on the storage card.
1 other difference in the ROM I've noticed it in the couple of hours I've had it: Error reporting and incoming beams are both turned off by default (not exactly a big deal, I know).
I've no idea if it has a blackberry client. How would I tell?
I've no need for bluetooth yet since the wife's got Tom Tom 5 under wraps until Christmas, but I've switched it on and will report back in 24 hours to see if it's switched itself off or not!

Start dreaming up your wishlist for this update Less memory leaks, less freezes on SMS receipt, less notification queue problems, less SD card problems, push email, blackberry software, stereo bluetooth... anything else?

LOL, true true - just sold my XDA2s on EBay (sadly for only £165) and I'm missing it already, just the speed, efficiency and streamlined operation is far superior to the Exec AT THE MOMENT.
I also think its ridiculous that you lose EVERYTHING when rom upgrading, imagine if upgrading to Windows Vista mean't you lost your personal data? It simply wouldn't happen so why do they believe PocketPC users should have to?

yeah, I tried no luck, couple of other guys in another threat got that issue and I did hard reset the phone still no luck.

Back after a while away from XDA's - Anyhow, I've had the XDA exec a week and after many freeeeeeeze ups i decided to change it. Went into O2 in Bristol today and they almost admitted that the exec's had a known issue! The guy told me a 'NEW' batch had arrived today and they had been told that they should be a much more stable unit.
Gone is the personal install option and the battery bar is now on the today screen. The unit has opperated all day with no lock ups and the screen refresh when changing aspect is almost instant!!! (i've got all the same apps running so it is a level playing field)
Not much eles is obvious, but like i said it just runs much better - if any of you out ther are still within O2's exchange period then i would get one from the 'New' batch.
I'll report more when i've had a good play around

Widhill, is the new batch a software/rom update only? Or were there hardware issues with the old batch?
I guess I doubt they would tell you that much detail.

Jeux_1: Sorry I can't answer the e-mail question since I've not got e-mail set up on my Exec yet.
I've had bluetooth switched on for almost 24 hours now and it's still not switched itself off (although I haven't actually used the bluetooth). I'm not sure if this proves the bluetooth problem is fixed or not since I've not experienced the bluetooth-switching-off problem myself.

Hi Doody, It would seem that the issue is with the software not the hardware - however that is only my opinion. The new Exec seems to still be holding up and no problems yet! I give it a good going over later tonight and see if i can get to go wrong (haha). I have noticed that the O2 active program is still there but only if you tap on it in programs. The only way to get rid of it was to choose the install type again (only takes 15 secs to change and its gone) The biggest difference is the screen refresh on changing from landscape to portrait - It's Instant (well almost).
So before everyone panics - i would guess we will see a new update from O2 very soon!!!

I don't have an XDA Exec, but i don't think you need the ROM upgrade to solve your problem...
I was having the same problem with my JasJar but it was solved using one of the registry hacks in Tweakz 2k2.Net
It's the hack that relates to smooth scrolling in Pocket Internet Explorer... what you need to do, is to turn it off so that PIE scrolls by link to link instead...
After which you should notice that you can easily swap between To, cc, Subject and message body in your e-mail messages....

I really think this deserves a thread on its' own.
I've been having some real crazy headaches and problems with my phone lately.
I updated my phone to TNT 5.0 with touchflo. I have WM6.0 with IPL / SPL 2.26. GSM is 2.25 and my OS is 6.0.0.0. I have no idea how to check what my radio rom version is... I am currently with Rogers in Canada. I installed lokiwizb to unlock this phone.
Simply put, I'm fed up. I get the "colnot.dll, clocknot.dll and repllog.dll" files all the time! What's wrong is that the "touch" on my phone is a bit screwy, either doing things late or not tapping at all.
The worst is that my phone either has poor or no reception at all! Forget about calling today, it just doesn't work. And I realised this week that I had dropped calls and calls that were just not picked up. Afterall having messages from days ago when the phone is on me is not such a good thing.
I've actually dropped the battery status plug in a while back because I had problems with that too.
What can possibly be wrong with the phone. I upgraded it to WM6 and put on cool roms to make it more appealing and in the process, it turned out to be a nightmare.
And CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME what that hard "tock" sound is everytime I hit a key???
Is there a radio rom I should install to get better reception? Should I downgrade back to some other rom, maybe even wm5? Is there a way to overclock (not over 240) my phone without any problems from the application? If it's not the htc rom, is there still a way to get the weather plugin? That is a really nice and useful item.
Please, anyone that could fix my phone is a champ. I'm just sick and tired of these problems.

Easy, 'GSM is 2.25' is your radio version presently installed on your phone.The most stable Radio Rom version commonly preferred is Radio Rom version 2.19.11 UK or 2.69.11,download and flash to check if you get a better reception a fewer missed calls.
As per other file pop ups,its better you reflash again and try the other latest TNT.1620 Series Professional and not the touchflo.hope you'll get a much better performance and no troubles or even try out the latest XMr5 Rom.For overclocking,download 'Batterystatus' install and use.

Thanx for your reply. I am trying to install the TNT 1620. But these notifications are very annoying. So far it looks good, but as far as performance goes - too early to tell.
Do you know how to at elast turn off the clonot, calnot and repllog notifications???
I'll try to install batt status now. Hopefully, it'll work better than the last time!

Frozen screen when calling

Hi. I've had these problems with my htc hd2, I've had the sms probs, but that got fixed after talking to you guys And now when people call me, or I call other people it freezes, im able to stop the conversation (which doesn't actually start), reset the machine (red button on the back or pull-out-battery) and then call back... This is really annoying, it has happened twice today, one time yesterday, and one time every day before.. I don't call people or receive alot of calls, but always the first call "****s up". Then its ok for the next call. Doesn't happen to anything else (yet), only calling. It's not that big of a problem, but my bills are keeping to get longer seeing that I have to call back all the time. :/

I think the information you are providing is just a bit to little. you have explained your problem but you are not telling what radio and rom you are using.
in general have you tried a hard reset? or is the problem also there with your sd card in the phone? people have problems with phone freezes because of sd cards. especially the larger cards.

I suffered from this last week & almost tested the bounciness of the phone I got so annoyed with it. Hi, the taskbar is the info' strip display at the top of the phone. The standard one is a "clunky" black & white design. I installed some fancy, coloured ones which I now know should only be installed on HD2s with winmo6.5."whatever number it's at now" installed. Mine is a stock 1.66 ROM with winmo 6.5 device. Like I said the two may be completely unconnected but - touch wood(Ooh err missus), I've not had a call freeze since uninstalling them. I can't believe I've been outnoobed either lol! Best of luck...

Oh, yeah I've got the stock "black 'n white chunky" one :/ so there must be something else

I'll keep an eye on this thread for updates, of course I tempted sodding fate & the bloody thing locked up on me about half an hour after posting my reply. Cover off & soft reset & we're off again but this is soooooooooooo annoying when it does happen. best of luck to you.

what upgrades are you talking about? if you've installed any apps or customisations then you'll have to reinstall those after a hard reset, but otherwise it will just blow away all your info and give you a clean slate to start from with whatever ROM/Radio combo you have. definitely worth doing if you haven't done that yet.
otherwise maybe try upgrading the radio? or another ROM if that doesn't work...

Try flashing to one of the latest Radios.
I had this problem when I was on a very old Radio 2.04 with the latest custom Roms.

Well, I have the latest rom, and thats the only rom I can get :S and isn't the radio upgraded with the rom ? if not, where do I upgrade the radio ? (radio: 2.06.51.07)

Finally understood and downloaded/flashed a new radio (2.08), after hours of reading and decrypting "nerd language" (no offence of course). We'll see if it helped tomorrow, if I have no probs tomorrow it *might* have been fixed!

TMOUS user here. Have had the HD2 for a total of 5 days. Making phone calls, it freezes repeatedly. I will receive a phone call(feel it vibrate, try to answer, and it just locks. Can still hit the Home button and hit HD2SoftReset, but this really sucks.

it happened at 12:05pm Pacific time.
I was in a middle of a call and it stopped, and when I looked at screen it said "Downloading System R2.0850082 G15 ??" and the rest I could not get was too fast for me to be able to write down? I was chasing for a pen and paper before the screen changed but I got as much as I could?
I think I am going to keep my camera handy for next time? This is the second update I received in the past few days? I wish I had an option for downloading now or later? seems rude! I was after all in a middle of a call!
But after it finished it restarted it self to the orange windows boot screen and stayed there for about 5 minutes and then started loading HTC Sense UI of which took a little longer than usual. after that it was operating as usual, I went to Software info tab, the following was listed;
US T-Mobile_Leo HD2 O.S version 5.2.32441 (32441.5.0.61)
Manila version 2.5.20121412.1 ROM version 2.10.531.1 (82076) ROM Date 02/23/10

microsoft have never implemented the updates feature. you would be the first person ever to get a windows mobile update for any version of winmo.

I'm from NY, I called T-mobile regarding my Internet on the phone yesterday night..It was kinda slow. And the agent I was talking did a update on my phone..She told me to take the battery off while she send the update and after like 10min my internet was 5x better. And I'm using Kumar's 1.5 Custom Rom

Actually, that's not too unusual... considering the T-Mobile USA model has the option within the software for OTA updates to be provided via wireless carriers. However, the fact that it's only specific to ONE person... is very strange.
Part of the reason for a potential update to his handset could have been "problem" related. As in, the system detected something "out of the ordinary" and then prompted him for some form of a system update.
Then again, that would suggest that the Windows Mobile OS is so advanced that it literally adapted like a neurological organism. Which would be crazy... RIGHT?

Well I can't tell you if the update is from Microsoft? I just assume all updates come from T-Mobile or HTC? That's why I am here trying to find out what it is? also when I had an update from T-Mobile for my Shadow1 phone it would prompt me to continue? and the US HD2 Leo rudely did what it wanted?, as I explained before, I was in a middle of a call when the call dropped out? and made a sound? and when I looked at screen, I could see part of the call screen on top right but the rest of it was dark grey background with white letters/text saying the following;
"Downloading System R2.0850082 G15 ??" and some other stuff as well but the screen changed after that so I can't say anything more specific?
I got this phone on the 29th of March 2010, and it is "Stock" with the exception of "BattClock", "Trapster", "Bing" and "Windows Live" that I downloaded from the phone.
I called Tmobile on the 7th of April because I was not able to make calls or connect to the Internet? , I could actually look at the screen and watch it change from 3G to Edge to no signal in a matter of minutes?, it would happen 4 to 5 times an hour, and then it would stop for a couple of hours then it would star all over again, but I also noticed the same thing happen on my Nokia with the Antenna Bars going from 4 bars to 0 none? as well as my wife's Samsung phone? so I attributed that problem to a cell tower? I got a Trouble ticket from tech support, one for each phone assuming the more trouble ticket for the same condition the faster it might be fixed? so it could be the updates are for that? don't know? but my Nokia nor my wife's Samsung phone have not restarted but they are different O.S. they are Symbian?, but my US HD2 has had two updates so far?
and I am looking for a way of "Documenting" any changes, mods or updates?
As far Today's update one thing I have noticed is that I have 4 bars and 3G is solid!, it does not matter if I go outside or anywhere on the property?, before this it would vary all over the place depending where I was moving or not moving? there is a definite difference from yesterday, a better difference for sure!

I noticed that xzero101 has a Kumar's 1.5 Custom Rom and I have a Stock ROM if these updates are from Tmobile for Tech Trouble Ticket Fix could it be if you have a custom ROM it might not allow you to get Tmobile Fixes?, I am speculating? I have no idea? I am hoping someone here with advance knowledge of these Rom's will know if that makes a difference?

Why did the OS build version jump so much? I'm on stock tmous ROM and didn't see anything new.
OH, maybe I need to be on the T-Mobile network? -- although PAYG doesn't have data support.

M$ was working on OTA updates since last year...but I don't think they ever implemented it..? I have 2 HD2's I just turned on customer feedback and the like in BSB tweak, maybe that affects the updates if it's even possible?

i've had the same kind of update about a week ago and this is actually my second one. i thought that everybody was getting it since one of my best friend also got the same type of update. however, a few of my coworkers who just received their hd2's in the mail did not..

that is weird, I noticed mine rebooted in Phoenix today for no apparant reason. Thought it just crashed but I wasnt paying close attention.

Maybe t-mobile is doing a test update to see if they can do it. remember windows mobile still not dead so i wouldn't be surprise

Issues with my HD2 (Optus Australia - Italian Fone)

Been having some problems with my HD2 as of late. If this is the wrong forum to post, please point me elsewhere.
Purchased original one via Mobicity - turned out it was a HK version. I dropped it and smashed the screen, so got a replacement one (purchased thru Mobicity again) under my insurance.
Not sure the origins of the second fone though. When it arrived, it was in Italian. Had to send it back to M/City to reflash it with (what I believe to be ) a WWE version.
Details on startup screen:

Have left the phone as-is after it was reflashed with an English ROM and returned to me. Has worked perfectly for about 8 months. Recent issues only occurring last 2 months or so.
Issues having lately:
* Randomly reboots itself - completely randomly. Sometimes, while not even touching the phone, sometimes while typing a text or browsing the net.
* Battery usage lately has been horrendous. Hard to pin an exact figure on it, but it's MUCH MUCH worse than usual, over the last 2 months.
* CONSTANTLY dropping signal & Data connection. I can watch the data/signal symbols switch from nothing, to G, to 3G, to H, and back again within the space of seconds. On occasions, when the data-conn drops out (but fone signal remains), I go into connection settings and find the Data Settings slider is switched off! I must manually go and turn it on again... which sometimes works, and sometimes fails to stay on.
I HAVE manually gone into the settings and told it to update to the latest data settings from my provider (Optus) and it always responds that I already have the latest settings.
Often, the only way to get data connection back is to manually reboot the whole fone.
Sometimes, while browsing a simple website on the fone, it will drop connection. I live in Brisbane. Optus advises Brisbane has absolute FULL coverage, until you start going outskirts. I can be in the city centre gardens (no big buildings to block signals) and still not achieve full "H" or even "3G" speeds... most times only achieving simple "G" speeds.
This is obviously not right I HAVE contacted Optus about this, and they suggest it is an issue with the phone, as they insist they have full coverage brisbane-wide.
I have also noticed, in the last 2-weeks or so, that Cookies Home Tab is not working correctly all the time.
On occasions - but not ALL the time - on my home-page CHT displays appointments that are already passed days or even weeks ago.
Sometimes, when adding a new appointment (either manually in the fone, or via the MyPhone website and synching), it will not display at all in CHT.
I know there is a new version of CHT, but some of the technical info on the website sounds like there can be issues with not correctly un- or re- installing it.
I've still got a couple of months left for my manufacturer warranty.... I'm not keen on reflashing with un-official ROMS until after that period has elapsed... then i'm keen to go for it. If that is my only option, then I will consider, but would prefer a "genuine" fix first.
Can anyone please offer some suggestions, hints, experiences ? I haven't been on the forums for months, and now the HD2 thread is some 10-episodes of 30+ pages, so I have no hope in hell of reading thru all that hoping to find an answer.
Suggestions please for possible reasons, or fixes, or a different WWE English ROM to flash to ?
Note also: My serial number does not appear to be Asian in origin. I have tried to d/l the Asia Pacific, the Worldwide, and the HK latest ROMS... but it fails upon serial number. I have not tried, but I assume my fone is Italian model, hence any ROM that I flash must be d/loadable from another source, not the HTC website.
Please also note: I'm not - at this point - interested in running Android, so (without wanting to sound ungrateful) if any help could avoid suggestions of that nature please.

Purchased original one via Mobicity - turned out it was a HK version. I dropped it and smashed the screen, so got a replacement one (purchased thru Mobicity again) under my insurance.
Not sure the origins of the second fone though. When it arrived, it was in Italian. Had to send it back to M/City to reflash it with (what I believe to be ) a WWE version.

Have left the phone as-is after it was reflashed with an English ROM and returned to me. Has worked perfectly for about 8 months. Recent issues only occurring last 2 months or so.
Issues having lately:
* Randomly reboots itself - completely randomly. Sometimes, while not even touching the phone, sometimes while typing a text or browsing the net.
* Battery usage lately has been horrendous. Hard to pin an exact figure on it, but it's MUCH MUCH worse than usual, over the last 2 months.
* CONSTANTLY dropping signal & Data connection. I can watch the data/signal symbols switch from nothing, to G, to 3G, to H, and back again within the space of seconds. On occasions, when the data-conn drops out (but fone signal remains), I go into connection settings and find the Data Settings slider is switched off! I must manually go and turn it on again... which sometimes works, and sometimes fails to stay on.
I HAVE manually gone into the settings and told it to update to the latest data settings from my provider (Optus) and it always responds that I already have the latest settings.
Often, the only way to get data connection back is to manually reboot the whole fone.
Sometimes, while browsing a simple website on the fone, it will drop connection. I live in Brisbane. Optus advises Brisbane has absolute FULL coverage, until you start going outskirts. I can be in the city centre gardens (no big buildings to block signals) and still not achieve full "H" or even "3G" speeds... most times only achieving simple "G" speeds.
This is obviously not right I HAVE contacted Optus about this, and they suggest it is an issue with the phone, as they insist they have full coverage brisbane-wide.
I have also noticed, in the last 2-weeks or so, that Cookies Home Tab is not working correctly all the time.
On occasions - but not ALL the time - on my home-page CHT displays appointments that are already passed days or even weeks ago.
Sometimes, when adding a new appointment (either manually in the fone, or via the MyPhone website and synching), it will not display at all in CHT.
I know there is a new version of CHT, but some of the technical info on the website sounds like there can be issues with not correctly un- or re- installing it.
I've still got a couple of months left for my manufacturer warranty.... I'm not keen on reflashing with un-official ROMS until after that period has elapsed... then i'm keen to go for it. If that is my only option, then I will consider, but would prefer a "genuine" fix first.
Can anyone please offer some suggestions, hints, experiences ? I haven't been on the forums for months, and now the HD2 thread is some 10-episodes of 30+ pages, so I have no hope in hell of reading thru all that hoping to find an answer.
Suggestions please for possible reasons, or fixes, or a different WWE English ROM to flash to ?
Note also: My serial number does not appear to be Asian in origin. I have tried to d/l the Asia Pacific, the Worldwide, and the HK latest ROMS... but it fails upon serial number. I have not tried, but I assume my fone is Italian model, hence any ROM that I flash must be d/loadable from another source, not the HTC website.
Please also note: I'm not - at this point - interested in running Android, so (without wanting to sound ungrateful) if any help could avoid suggestions of that nature please.

Hi, I to have an HD2 in Oz from Mobicity - though never got an Italian version. To be honest, the only time I had an issues like those you are talking about was when I flashed new roms WITHOUT 'Task 29' first. Look it up. It kind of "cleans up" your phone inbetween cooked roms. But as you have only had Official roms on your phone, this might not be the issue.
To be honest, I don't think you Task 29 anyway until you put HSPL on your phone (this allows you to put cooked Roms on), but as soon as you do this, you void your warranty. Now you can take HSPL off before you send it back, but if your phone was to die BEFORE you took it off and then you sent it back, you'd be ****ed if they managed to power it up.
As you're under warranty, I'd send it back to be fixed and explain the fact that they had another rom on when you first got it.

ps. You may want to quickly check online to make sure you are running the most uptodate Rom for your phone on the HTC website.

Did u try hard-reseting your phone by pressing the volume up and down and the power button at the same time. Usually fixes many issues relating to yours. It might have been caused by a programs problem which corrupted main system files.

Not yet, no..... will go through that process tonight. Was just worried that hard-setting it MAY end up back with the Italian settings (on the off-chance it still has an Italian ROM, but has just been set to display in English) ???
Can anyone identify the ROM details in my original post, as being WWE (I assume this means World Wide English?)
I cannot find anywhere that lists if those numbers mean WWE or English ?

This is almost exactly what my phone is doing too, so I suspect it may be the same cause.
One thing I forgot to mention in my original post here, is that sometimes, after the fone reboots itself, it fails to boot up again and all the handset buttons fail to respond. The little red reset button does not work either.
Doesn't happen EVERY time, but occasionally, the only way to resurrect the phone is to remove the battery for 30 mins or so, then reinstall and try again.
Obviously a very real issue - and it seems a known one - perhaps time to return for warranty fix or replacement.

Remember when someone load's another rom on your phone it complete (kinda) erases the old rom and replaces it so there would be nothing that would revert it to the italy ROM.

Thankyou mate.... that makes it a lot clearer
Will try the hard-reset method tonite and-reinstall only the apps (if it ok to use that term, for WM programs !!!) that I need.
Have also been given a link to the latest WWE ROM to flash, from Mobicity, so will hard-reset, to clear any crap, then re-flash with the new ROM.
Just curious... I know I should remove the memory card when resetting/reflashing (i'm not doing dual-boot with Android), but should I also remove the SIM card too? Eg: Get the background system installed and running, then power-off, insert SIM, power-on to get the network specifics up and running ???

My Guess
I have a Telstra HD2, running the latest Telstra ROM and CHT 1.8.5. The phone reboots regularly of its own accord. Seems to be related to overheating as the base of the phone is quite hot when it reboots. If the phone get really hot, it will not re-start (stays at white screen). Have had to put the phone in the fridge to get it to work.
I don't know if this is related but I have a cradle that I use to connect my HD2 to my work PC. If the HD2 is running SenseUI, after the HD2 was been in the cradle for a while, the HD2 re-starts. This does not happen if I disable SenseUI. It seems that the restart only occurs after the battery reaches 100%.
The restarting occurs with CHT 2.0 beta as well.
When I get a chance, I'll do a hard reset and see if that fixes the problem.

Hmmmm....... seems to be a recurring issue with some of the "newer" phones. My original phone - before I dropped it and smashed the screen - never had any of the issues I'm currently experiencing
I've read somewhere on here that the rebooting issue is suspected to be from early-production snapdragon processors..... which SHOULD be an immediate warranty claim, in my opinion.
I will try the hard-reset, and then a fresh Official ROM install, to see if it solves it.
