Hi guys,
When i have been listening to the regular FM radio on the HD2 and i remove my headphones (not exiting form the radio player itself), there is a count down from 60 seconds to exit the player.
If I leave it (i.e. im in a rush and just quickly take my headphones out and forget to disconnect from the player), when i next make or receive a call the phone freezes!
I have to remove the battery and restart.
has anyone else experienced this problem?
What is the solution?
Seems like a software bug to me!
Many thanks
from the threads I have seen the FM Radio is a waste of time on the HD2 (Crap) try a different Radio loads on here
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/
tried a couple on there and they seem to not be working on the HD2!
I don't particularly want to connect to internet each time when i listen to the radio.
Also this may only be masking a deeper issue with the software on this phone?

Hello,
I have noticed that every now and then the music stops for a few ms and then starts again..this happens both with wired headphones and bluetooth ones.
it seems to me that this could depend to the stand by mode...this means that if I start music and leave the telephone on it is fine but if I turn it to stand by mode (switch off screen) it starts doing it.
I have also tried pocketplayer, pocket music and the integrated player and they all act in the same way.
anyone else can confirm this? and if so any solution?
cheers
same issue here!
does this to me too
i just ignore it
Other Players than the HTC one completely stop in Standy.
Test mortplayer or media player if u want.
So do it as u always did on older devices: Turn of Screen instead of tunring device in standby.

I would if I knew how......advice most welcome
bind a key to display switch, or some Players like Mort or Media Player can assign Turn on/off to a button only as long as theay are running.
I use GSPlayer, no such issues here.
I just turn off screen while listening to shoutcasts or local music.
I use GSPlayer too, but I do have the same issue as eroG
Me too
Have the same problem with mine - a UK T-Mobile MDA Touch Plus, purchased 5 days ago.
Does it with HTC audio manager, media player, and pocket player 3.5.1. Definitely not the MP3s as if you re-wind the file the skip isn't there. Tends to happen about once every 3 to 5 minutes and lasts about 100ms. Slightly less annoying than a skipping CD player, but my 2year old Orange SPV C600 and 4year old SPV C500 don't do it so don't see why this should.
Seems to also affect the Tilt - there's a thread on here about it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=346407&page=8
Only thing that seems to fix it is a ROM upgrade with a new radio version. Come on T-mobile, sort it out!
Also get stuttering when I push the power button to ender standby, but imagine that's genuine CPU-usage.

thanks for the information. anyway after seeing all the replies mentioning the same issue I started thinking that it had something to do with the phone and
not just me (read bluetooth + phone). anyway I hope that this Radio update becomes available also for us...
or perhaps Tom' rom with wm6.1 does not have this problem...I ll let you know when I update my phone with his rom..unfortunately I ll have to wait until next wednesday as I am abroad for work.

I swapped from the HTC music player to Windows Media Player because of this. It got so bad that my HTC player would stop playing a song right in the middle and I had to restart the song! After switching to Windows Media Player this hasn't been a problem for me.
However, my connection to my BT headset is lost after every phone call which is a real pain.
With Tom's Rom this problem is gone (for me).
I know this thread is quite old already, but didn't want to make a new one. I also experience mp3 glitch on my niki (orange) but the way it happens to me seems to be more in a precise moment of the song rather than once every several minutes. Furthermore it seems not exactly a short pause, but rather a very short fragment of another song from my list playing for less than a second. Interesting thing though: when I copied some of the glitched songs back to my computer, they continued to glitch in the exact same moment. Looks like the phone (or the card maybe?) damaged the files.. It might be a completely different bug, I was wondering what you guys think about it..
After several hours I've figured it. It turned out to be something completely different. Language of the device and windows were different causing difficulties with folder names containing certain symbols. You can ignore this post now.
It was no problem with my Pro2 to listen to Music via bluetooth !
Now with the LEO - which is the best device which I ever had - I can use the phone over bluetooh but hear no music.
I also marked under advanced the music button
Pls help me
I have a similar problem, though not quite the same. I am actually able to connect up my BT headset, but the advance controls no longer function; only voume control. No Pause, Forwards or Backwards! (in both Coreplayer & S2P).
They clearly recognise that a signal was recieved (if i try forwarding), however the player just minimises one receipt of the signal, and upon maximising just ignores the functions.
Anyone experiencing similar issues?
I just talked to HTC - they said probably it is the wrong device (head set)...
I have the same problem.
I have a problem with using my MOTOROKR T505 Bluetooth® In-Car Speakerphone, which in my old phone (nokia e71), worked like a dream. With Leo, connects ok, butafter playing for some time, will hickup for like 7-10 seconds, then resume, play for another minute, and repeat. This seems to coincide with the phone going to sleep? ie: after the screen turns black. I am running s2u2, and when the music stops, if i press any button to wake it up, it starts playing again. As long as i keep the screen active, it plays.
Is there a setting that is making Leo to "Standy", either in s2u2 or in OS?
Hi all, I'm new to the forums so don't be too harsh on me, and sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find it anywhere (skipped through like 15 pages)
I have a, in my eyes, huge problem with the HTC Music player, sometimes it just skips songs or fast forward through them, then it takes a while before it stops and I can listen to music again, and sometimes it won't stop and I have to turn my phone off and on for it to work again. This is really annoying and happens 4 or 5 times in my 1 hour trip to school.
As I said, it does occur randomly, but on some songs more often then others. I put them on my phone with Windows Media Player. I also keep it upside down in my pocket if that's a problem. I also tried other ear-phones but that didn't solve anything.
Thanks in advance and I hope there's a solution to this ^^ also, are there more people with this problem, I have searched the internet quite a bit but found no information whatsoever.
yes, I have same problem and its only when using not htc's headphones, so it must be a problem with headphones connector on HD2.
Friend of mine is having same problem.
Yeah, it works fine with HTC's crappy headphones. Doesnt work with my Shure's.It does work with my portable speakers though.
HTC Music skipping and stopping
My problem is that when i turn on HTC Music it works fine with headphones other than the HTC ones until i lock the screen. Then it cuts the music out once or twice then cuts off completely, all within 60 seconds of locking the screen.
Thinking this was a problem with the headphone's connection jack, as they are from an old Sony minidisc player, i went back to the crappy HTC headphones and the same thing happened!
Any ideas for a cure would be greatly appreciated as i get around by cycling and it defeats the purpose it i have to stop every 2 mins just to restart the player or answer the phone.
HTC HD2
OS Version5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila Version 2.5.19211619.0
ROM Version 1.66.405.2 (76641) WWE
ROM Date 01/11/10
Radio Version 2.06.51.07
Protocol Version 15.30.50.07U
whenever there is incoming call while i am listening to music..... it will happen right after screen is off.
i called HTC support about this, but they said no such case reported and tested...
Now my solution is to press the Play button on Headphone or do not lock the screen.
Any permanent solution ?!
thanks alot !!
ive been having a problem when i hook it up to my dd monitor in my car, it goes wacky and changes songs and fast forwards, rewinds. its only when i hook up to the 3.5 jack from my deck, headphones is no issue...im stumped
Has anyone come up with a solution?I have the same problem when I hook up my Sensation to car radio through 3.5mm.Starts fast forwarding and skipping through songs.
the stock earphones come with 4 metal pieces in the jack, while the others have 3.. my theory is that non-stock headphones sometime mimic a press of one of the buttons. as this also happens to me sometimes while removing the stock headphones from the device.
if you're good with welding stuff, buy a 4piece jack and connect the new headphones to it
Found a fix was hoping for sometype of patch but this works to.Do a search for, "headset blocker" in the market.
Hi guys, i have an hd2 with nand android, and i have a problem when i plug in the aux cable or earphones: the phone during the play of a track sometimes changes automatically the song or it restart the song a lot of time without that i touch the phone. I already had the plug in problem too when i had wm 6.5 on the phone, but the problem were not the "music shuffling", but the problem were that the phone autodialed the last number called by me.
Someone has the same issue? Any solutions?
I've had audio jack problems as well.
I use a mp3 player from the Android Market called Tiny Player.
Occasionally while playing songs in Tiny Player through headphones or an FM transmitter, the Android music player will start up and begin playing a random song while Tiny Player is still playing.
It must be something about the way that the audio jack is designed to work with the HTC headphones that have the in-line mic built into them for calling. Some regular headphones must be causing a connection to be made which makes the phone think that a button on the HTC headphones has been pressed.
I can usually solve this problem by unplugging and re-plugging the headphones, or turning the plugh in the jack a little bit.
this has come up fairly often over the yrs, to a greater or lesser extent. I have a pair of senheissers which do exactly what you describe, but only on winmo roms. My other phones (tested four or five pairs, cheap and expensive) all work fine. the senheissers work fine on wp7 and android.
Odly enough two (that i can think of) other threads like this also mentioned senheisers, , , what you using, OP?
@samsamuel: i'm using android MIUI.
@huggs: sometimes i do like you, i unplug and replug the cable to solve the problem, but i want to permanently solve this problem, even at the cost of replacing the input jack, you say that it solves?
Its also worth removing the battery and then looking into the jack to see it there is any debris in there, remove with a pin
Same problem, except my Android powered HD2 also likes to randomly dial the last person I talked to when I have the headphones connected. These are the original HTC phones that came with the device. Today it managed to leave my boss eight voicemails. Nice. Fortunately, my boss has a sense of humor and it'll probably be OK. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?
I have a problem with 3.5 mm jack. When I turn on the headset, the phone restarts. And the problem is not with all handsets
I think I found a fix for misbehaving headphones:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/headset-blocker/com.idunnolol.headsetblocker
If anyone has used this please comment.
@imrazor : Thank you very much, I'm using it for two days and since I installed it I've had no problems.
Hello,
I have performed a search without results so hopefully I won't get flamed for Newbie errors! (Although I am willing to accept that if necessary...)
I am running the V4.1 version of this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010498 and have the following problem:
When I plug a mini-jack in (plugging into amp or car radio usually), the MIUI music player starts playing and often randomly changes track, every 2 seconds or every minute or so. I can pause it or close the problem, but it opens itself and starts playing again. I've explored the application settings to no avail. Quite random and annoying. Anybody else experienced this? I feel I should update to the latest ROM but don't want to create other problems in the process - otherwise the ROM works well.
Thanks,
Will
i had the similar problem before
there was this one app that auto starts the music player & can't seem to turn it off, I finally found the app & turn off the autoplay in it's settings
Thanks, sorry for delay. Which app caused the problem? I have looked but can't find yet.
thanks again
